When she heard that Kitty rejoined the new directions, she wondered why she wasn't invited to join the new members of glee club. She thought she had proven herself enough, but apparently Rachel and Kurt didn't seem to think the same. True, she was currently not a member of the same high school, but there must have been a way for her to come back to Mc Kinley. Unfortunately Marley still had trouble standing up for herself and because of that, she let the opportunity slip. And a few months later she saw how the Glee Club won Nationals and made history once again. Even though she felt a bit left out, especially after they won regionals and Marley had been able to go back to Mc Kinley since Sue didn't work there as a principal anymore, she still was happy for Kitty. Even though their relationship was anything but friendly the first year they were in glee club together, for some reason Kitty had recently reached out to her by writing a very long letter. She begged Marley to meet sometime and said that she had missed her so much during glee club. She wrote a very long apology about the horrible things she said and done to her and practically begged Marley to meet her. Marley didn't really know how she should feel about that. Well at least someone from Mc Kinley thought about her. She appreciated the effort. Marley wondered if she should text Kitty to hear if she wanted to meet for a drink, but she wasn't sure she was ready for that. What would she even say to her? What if they had nothing to talk about? So instead she just left the letter in a box under her bed and tried to focus on her homework and volunteering. When glee club ended, Marley was so in need of something new to do that her mum suggested volunteering work. One day her mum came home with a folder in which they were looking for volunteers who wanted to give singing lessons to mentally challenged children. At first, Marley was a bit hesitant about this, after all she had no experience with mentally challenged children at all, except maybe Becky but did that really count? She decided to go to a meeting anyway just to hear if she might be qualified for it and she had not regretted it. They took her to see the children of the institution and she immediately felt connected with them. She gave singing lessons twice a week, once on Tuesday evening and once Saturday afternoon. She enjoyed every moment of it. Her mum asked her one day if she didn't feel like taking singing classes to reconnect with her own singing passion, but Marley did not feel the need for that. She was glad she could share the joy of music with a few children, but as for herself, she did not really feel a lot of joy anymore when she sung. After all, every time she sang, she reminded herself of the joy she once felt when she could share her passion with her friends from glee. She also got a lot of joy from working with the children, but she missed having friends who shared her passion. She wondered if it would be a good idea to write back to Kitty and see what she had to say. Or maybe just sent a text, because who still sent letters these days? Marley did not know if it would do her any good, but then again it probably could do no harm, could it?
