Upon landing on an island to find a carnival was in full swing, everyone decided to have a day of fun--per captain's orders, of course. There was much to do and in the end they all had a good time. At the end of the day, they all trudged back to the ship, exhausted and ready to sleep before setting out again in the morning.
All, except Luffy.
He was much too excited to sleep, having eaten as many sugary sweets he could get his hands on. And it did not seem to help that he now had a new friend: a huge stuffed monkey plush, which Luffy had taken to call Peanut.
He just had to show everyone his monkey, because, hey look! He could hang around Luffy's neck. And wow! He had the longest tail. His face was so cute! He was as tall as Luffy. They could dance! Squeeze him! He squeaked.
The rest of the crew was not the least bit excited about Peanut, and turned their glares upon the exuberant rubber boy.
Finally having enough, Sanji pointed his cigarette at the plush, wishing the ashes would burn a hole through it. "Where the hell'd you get that damn thing, anyway?" he growled.
Almost as if a light went on inside Luffy's head, the boy's eyes widened and he took off out of kitchen and for the mast, leaving the cook, navigator, and marksman in confusion. Flinging himself to the crow's nest with one stretchy arm, the other holding Peanut, Luffy practically landed on Zoro.
"I almost forgot! Thank you, Zoro!" Luffy cried as he threw his arms around the swordsman and gave him a thorough kiss. Nuzzling against Zoro's chest, Luffy situated himself in a warm embrace on the man's lap. And Peanut was forgotten.
But Zoro had his monkey now.
