In the morning, Optimus had warned Captain America about what Jen learned.
" Thank you for warning us, Optimus. We know someone who know Magneto better than anyone, Jen should meet him." Cap said
" Very well Captain. Who are you talking about ? " Optimus asked
" Charles Xavier, the headmaster of a school that host young mutants to teach them to control their powers." Cap answered
( later in the day )
Jen and Arcee arrived in front of the school for mutants and were greeted by the headmaster, Charles Xavier ( Patrick Stewart ) and four members of his school : Jean Grey, Cyclop, Storm and Beast
" Good Morning Jennifer, Arcee. " He greeted kindly
" Hello Professor, X-Men, it's an honor to meet you." Jen said, shaking his hand.
" Hello everyone. I assume Captain America told you why we were coming." Arcee said
" Indeed. Eric will certainly try to free Mystique who has been arrested." Charles said
" Eric ? " Arcee asked
" Magneto, Eric Lensherr is his true name." Beast explained
The door opened and a tall and gruff looking man wearing a black combat suit appeared
" Hey, guys, who are the miss bot and the miss Hulk ? " He asked
The two partners turned towards him.
" Jennyfer Darby, Aka Gammazone." Jen answered
" And Arcee." the autobot answered
" Ladies, this is Logan. We call him..." Cyclop began to say
" Wolverine, I know. The most savage of heroes." Jen finished
" You should have seen your role model." Wolverine said
" Hulk is not my model. " Jen countered
" Back to our main conversation, Mystique has been arrested while stealing documents about the source of the cure : a young mutant, called Jimmy or leech who can cancel the x-gene of all mutants who come near him." Beast explained
" Do you have a mean to track Magneto, professor ? " Arcee asked
" We have, but Magneto's helmet block my telepathy and Cerebro's." Charles responded
" You could focus on his acolytes. There was a pyrokinetic and a guy who could cause earthquakes with him. " Jen said
" Pyro and Avalanche. Thank you Jennifer." Xavier thanked before going back in the mansion with Cyclops following him.
" So when did you discovered your mutant abilities, Jen ? " Jean asked
" I am not a mutant, I am a Gamma Mutate. " Jen corrected her
Just After, a brown haired girl, with a white stripe and wearing a green and yellow outfit came out of the manor.
" So that's true. Those people can heal us ? " She asked
" It would seems so, Rogue." Beast answered, looking at his furry hands
" No, Hank. No one can heal us, because we are not sick. There is nothing to heal. " Storm said
" Exactly what I was saying. " Gammazone said
( Meanwhile )
Magneto stood on the road as a convoy arrived. He used his powers to crush the cars and stop the vehicle were was trapped his lieutenant. He then forced the back door open and here stood mystique, having escaped.
" You took your time." She snarked
" I was busy." Eric responded " Do you have the informations ? "
" The source of the cure is a young mutant. He is kept in Alcatraz. Without him, they have nothing." Mystique answered before they got out of the vehicle.
( Cerebro room )
" Eric just freed Mystique. They will attack Alcatraz. We must hurry. " Xavier said
Soon a team of X-Men was formed. Jean Grey, Cyclop, Wolverine, Storm, Beast, Iceman, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, Psylocke, Rogue, Magmar, Wolfsbane and Archangel.
" Let us come with you." Jen said
" You have done more than enough to help us, Jen, Arcee. We are grateful for your willingness but it is not up to you to fight our battle." Jean said
" Maybe, but we want to fight to protect innocents. My dad always told me to keep fighting the good fight. And I'm not going to let him down." Jen stated
" And as an autobot, I swore an oath to protect Earth, not only from the Decepticons but also from its own demons. " Arcee added
Cyclops sighed and agreed to let them come. Arcee transformed into her motorbike form and the two entered the Blackbird.
" Wow, where can I find a motorbike like her ? " Iceman asked in awe
" Nowhere, Arcee is unique and irreplaceable." Jen stopped his dreams
" And after the stunt you pulled with my motorbike, not a chance in hell you ride another one, Icecube." Wolverine added
" Miss Arcee, how will you fight if Magneto control metals ? " Magmar asked
Arcee made appear her solidogram " Sadie " , a beautiful dark-haired woman, wearing a black and blue catsuit that could have been painted on her Athletic and curvy body and with bladed tonfas on her arms.
The Blackbird then took off, with Nightcrawler praying their mission would succeed.
( Later )
Magneto arrived with his army at Alcatraz, on a piece of the golden bridge that he levitated. He made it land on the Island and tried to destroy the guns of the soldiers guarding the prison but, to his surprise, it didn't work.
" Plastic. They are making progress." He commented " Arclight, reduce their weapons in pieces. "
Arclight then clapped her hands, making a shockwave that destroyed the guns.
" DESTROY THIS PLACE ! " Pyro yelled, making the mutants charge, some jumping high, other teleportating.
But their charge was soon interrupted by lightning falling from the Sky, making them fall back. Storm then flew and landed on the ground alongside Rogue, Jean and Archangel. Beast and Wolfsbane jumped from the roof, Iceman slided on a ice trail with Magmar, Nightcrawler teleported with Cyclope, Shadowcat phased through the ground and emerged from it, Colossus and Gammazone landed on the ground, leaving craters, and Wolverine, Psylocke and Arcee, in her solidogram form jumped, and slowed their fall with bladed weapons : Wolverine and his claws, Psylocke and her swords, Arcee and her bladed tonfas.
" You cover the exits, and hold the line ! " Cyclop yelled to the soldiers, who didn't contest his orders
" Traitors to their own cause." Magneto stated " Finish them ! "
His army then charged again, and Beast and Wolfsbane roared at them.
Logan cut a pole, making it fall on some of the mutants, then he slashed at any who came at him.
Wolfsbane jumped on another group and slashed them while Hank used her body as a jumping point, caught a pole and used his momentum to ram into another group.
Jean was sending mutants flying away while Cyclope stunned enemies with his beams.
Storm flew in the air and created a wave and threw it at the Brotherhood then she launched lightning, electrocuting them.
Colossus was punching any mutant rushing at him, while Nightcrawler was teleporting here and there and punched enemies.
Iceman was freezing his opponents while Magmar was stunning them with fireballs and Shadowcat let enemies go through her and took them down with judo holds.
Rogue touched a mutant rendering him unconscient then she used his own super strenght to fight while Archangel was picking enemies and dropping them in the sea or he threw metal feathers at them.
Gammazone, Arcee and Psylocke were fighting side by side, the latter two occasionally using the former's body as a ramp to do some move.
( With Magneto )
" Juggernaut, go in, find the boy and kill him. " Magneto ordered to the mountain of a man.
" With great pleasure." Cain Marko answered before running.
The soldiers tried to stop him but they were sent flying like rag dolls, then Juggernaut entered the building.
" He is seeking the boy ! " Beast yelled
" Like Hell he will. Girls, you'll be alright ? " Jen asked
" Don't worry about us, Jen, go help the kid." Arcee reassured her
Jen then followed Juggernaut, who let visible traces of his path, in the form of destroyed walls and found him, slowly advancing towards the boy, who was crawling against a corner.
" Sorry kid, nothing personal. " He said
" Hey, pick on someone your own size ! " Jen yelled, before punching him in the face, making him stumble. She continued to punch him a few times until Cain caught her fist.
" Don't you know who I am ? I am the Juggernaut, bitch ! " Cain yelled before punching Jen, making her fly across the room.
She got up, only to see him run towards her. She avoided him at the last moment, letting him destroy the wall. Gammazone then went to Jimmy.
" Don't worry, I'll get you out of here. " She reassured him, picking him up bridal style and going into the corridor.
" Why do your powers and his don't cancel when near me ? " Jimmy asked
" Because we aren't mutants. " She answered
( Outside )
Magneto had sent his lieutenants to fight the X-Men.
Wolverine and Wolfsbane were fighting Sabertooth, Mystique was fighting Arcee, Pyro was fighting Magmar and Iceman, Avalanche was fighting Colossus and Toad was fighting Psylocke.
" It has been a while, Runt. This time, I'm finishing you for good." Sabertooth snarled, before clawing at Logan's face, which healed instantly
" If I had received one dollar, each time I heard you say that, I'd be richer than Stark and Osborn." Logan snarked, clawing Sabertooth's chest.
Pyro was gaining ground against Magmar and Iceman.
" Ha ha ha ! I am the strongest here, kids. " Pyro boasted
Iceman then covered himself in ice, and slided under Pyro's flames and grabed his hands, freezing his flamethrowers, and headbutted him, which made him K.O.
" You were saying ? " Iceman asked
Mystique did a roundhouse kick on Arcee, who blocked it and tried to slash her with her tonfas but Mystique blocked her with her own knives
" Why do you oppose us ? It is because of people like them that many children are afraid to go to school." Mystique said, doing a horizontal slash that was countered by Arcee
" And killing them won't make things better, quite the opposite in fact. " Arcee countered, doing a high kick on the blue mutant's jaw, sending her in the ground.
( With Jen )
Gammazone continued to run with Jimmy in her arms, when her path was cut by the quill mutant, Arclight, Callisto and Blink.
" Going somewhere, kids ? " Callisto taunted
" You are still green even when the boy is with you. You aren't a mutant." Blink noted
" Exact. I am the child of gamma radiation and super serum. " Jen answered, making them widen their eyes in shock " You really want to try your luck ? "
The four looked at each other and raised their hands, in surrender.
" You are smart, I'll give you that. " Jen said before turning back when the wall exploded, revealing Juggernaut.
" No playing hide-and-seek, sweetheart. " He said
" Who is hiding, bonehead ? " Gammazone responded
Cain charged them, but Jen held Jimmy tight, jumped over Marko, did a sommersault, landed and drop-kicked him in his back, making him go faster than he intended colliding with the other four in the process.
" I CAN'T STOP ! " He yelled, before disappearing in the walls.
" Wow, good thinking. " Jimmy said
" Thanks, come on. " Gammazone answered
Soon they got out of the labs and Gammazone jumped on the roof where they left the Blackbird. They entered the jet and Jen put Jimmy down in a seat.
" Stay here. " She said before returning in the battle
She jumped from the roof and landed on Sabertooth who was jumping on a downed Wolverine. She then lifted him above her head and threw him in the sea.
" All right there, Wolverine ? " She asked him, extending a hand
" I could have deal with that animal on my own, but thanks miss Hulk. " Logan answered, taking her hand and she helped him get up.
Arcee and Psylocke arrived to them, having knocked out Mystique and Toad
Soon the other X-Men joined them and faced Magneto.
" It's over Eric. You can't win. End this madness and the professor will protect you." Beast said
" How many times have I done everything I could to stop the suffering of our brothers and sisters and you still stood in my way ? Graydon Creed, Peter Gyrich, William Stryker. Those were the most hateful homo sapiens in power that existed but they are no more thanks to me and my Brotherhood. But you still went after us to let us rot in jail. " Magneto stated
" Magneto. Not that I will complain about those bastards death but you should have let them be put on trial. " Jen said to him, but he didn't listened
" I now recognize you : you are the young lady who fought Sandman alongside Stark, the Spider and the robot. You are no mutant, you are a gamma mutate. " Magneto stated
" I am sorry about your family's death and what you endured because of the nazis. But what you are doing won't help anyone. You are better than this, Eric. " Jen pleaded.
Eric seemed truly touched by her sympathy but his face hardened.
" Once I was. But I cannot go back, Gammazone. Humanity's nature is to refuse to understand what they fear. One day, they will betray you, like they betrayed Bruce Banner. " He warned her before extending his hand, manipulating metals to bring back his lieutenants.
At this moment, a red-skinned man with a tail teleported right next to him, held his arm and the whole group teleported away from here.
" Dammit, they got away ! " Wolverine snarled
" At least, Jimmy is safe. That's what matter the most. " Storm reassured him.
The team then returned to the Blackbird, and to the X-Manor.
( X-Manor )
Charles was discussing with Jennifer and Arcee.
" I must thank you two for your help. Jennifer, I am proud that you tried to reason with my old Friend. I hope he will see reason one day. " Charles said
" Thanks professor, it has been our pleasure to fight alongside your students. " Jen said
They then left Xavier's office and met Wolverine who was leaning on the wall.
" You did good out there, miss bot, miss Hulk." He said with a smirk " If you meet Cap, tell him Logan say hi "
( abandoned warehouse, in the evening )
A gang was meeting here to discuss future projects.
" Boss, you are sure we can trust Klaw ? Seemed like a crackpot to me. " One of them asked
" He may be crazy but his gadgets allow their wielders to go mano a mano with Stark. Once we buy them, nothing will be out of our reach." The leader boasted
Suddenly, the lights were out and they all picked guns and looked everywhere. Until one of them was dragged, screaming, in the darkness. The rest of the gang turned towards the source of the sound and the goon flew back right into another, sending them on the ground.
A Black feline-like shape landed on the ground and got up. It was Black Panther.
They all opened fire on him, without sucess and he kicked a goon in the face, punched another in the gut and seized the other two and brought their heads together.
He then turned towards the leader, who was so scared, he fell on his butt with a brown spot between his legs. T'Challa extended his claws and brought them to the gangster's throat.
" Where. is. Klaw ? " He asked, with a threatening tone.
And with this, a new chapter.
It already has been a year since a great actor was killed by colon cancer. But he never was forgotten, because he was and always will be an inspiration, a hero, an Avenger.
Rest in Peace, Chadwick Boseman.
