The day after the battle at Alcatraz, Jen and Arcee were in the base with June and the autobots, discussing the events from yesterday.
" I'm so proud of you, Jen. You are becoming more like your father everyday. " June said, hugging her tall green-skinned daughter, her head resting on Jen's chest.
" Arcee, Jennifer, you once again proved yourselves as valued and meaningful members of Team Prime. " Optimus congratulated them
" You could have called us, we would have loved to help those X-Men. " Bulk said
" We'll do it next time. " Jen promised, fist bumping with him
" ( Look on the news ) " Bumblebee said, pointing at the TV
They all turned towards him and watched the news, showing the president of the United states.
" It is with the whole nation's gratefulness towards the X-Men and our new heroines Gammazone and Blue bolt that I appoint our new ambassador to the United Nations. He will represent all our citizens, humans and mutants alike : Doctor Hank McCoy. " The president stated before shaking hands with Beast.
" Way to go, furrball. " Jen said, smiling
" Blue bolt. I like that. " Arcee admitted
The news then changed and showed cops taking criminals in custody, on the docks.
" These thieves were revealed to have bought technologically advanced weapons to the smuggler Ulysses Klaw but were stopped by the Black Panther. " The reporter explained
" Who exactly is this Klaw ? " Ratchet asked
" A smuggler who is said to be the only man to have illegally entered Wakanda and lived to tell the tale. " June answered
" And what can be found in Wakanda ? " Arcee asked
" Vibranium, the metal in which Captain America's shield is made. So I let you think about if it falls in the wrong hands. I'll go take a look. " Jen said before jumping on the groundbridge's commands and putting coordinates to New-York
" And where will you find the king ? " Ratchet asked
" Wakandan embassy. " Jen answered, before going through the groundbridge
" I'll go with her. " Arcee said, before following Gammazone.
( New York City )
Jen and Arcee were heading towards the embassy and recognized it because of the Panther statues.
They then saw T'challa landing on the roof. Jen took Arcee in vehicle mode and jumped on the embassy.
" Hello, your highness. " Jen saluted him, making him turn around
" Jennifer, Arcee. It is good to see you again. Congratulations on your victory against Magneto. " Black Panther greeted them
" Highness, you were hunting this Ulysses Klaw, weren't you ? " Arcee asked
" Indeed, Arcee. The criminals that I interrogated told me that Klaw had a lot of hiding places in New-York. So far, I only found two and he wasn't there. I was on my way to the third." T'challa said
" Let us come with you, highness. If he has more accomplices, we can distract them while you go after him. " Jen proposed
Black Panther thought about this for a moment before he took a decision.
" All right. " T'challa stated before resuming his running on rooftops, followed by Jen, while Arcee transformed in vehicle mode and followed them in the streets.
The three soon arrived at an abandonned warehouse and saw Klaw entering a truck where were some men dressed in yellow and black.
" So he is working with A.I.M. " Black Panther stated
" Who are they ? " Arcee asked
" An organisation who create technologically advanced weapons to sell them to those who pay the highest price. Their leader, MODOK, is the sixth smartest person in the world. " T'challa answered before they followed them
They arrived at A.I.M's headquarters where Klaw was negociating with MODOK - whom Arcee and Jen found really hideous - and a familiar face.
" Silas ! " The two whispered at the same time
" Who ? " Black Panther asked
" The leader of a terrorist organisation called MECH who want to obtain the most advanced technology to conquer the world. " Arcee explained
" They kidnapped my mother and are willing to dissect autobots and Decepticons. " Jen added
" Silas, where are the cybertronians you promised me ?! " MODOK snarled
" Sir, we were close to have Arcee but her human partner called reinforcements. " Silas tried to explain
" And just how could she do that, when you took her means of communication ? " MODOK said, in a tone that promised pain if the answer didn't pleased him.
" She took my radio, sir. " Silas answered
MODOK snarled and blasted Silas with a beam from his head, sending the man against a wall.
" Bishop, you incompetent fool ! I gave you the right and the means to command your own sub-organisation from A.I.M and you lose against machines and a little girl ! I have half a mind to reveal your identity to your old colleagues in the army ! And you know how they treat traitors ! " MODOK yelled
" You are wasting ressources to hunt those aliens, MODOK. My vibranium could solve your problems, if you are willing to pay my price. " Klaw said
" Let's go. " T'challa said, before they jumped from the superior floor.
They arrived in front of the soldiers, with Jen landing on MODOK, sending him flying against a wall.
" Okay, boys, we can do this the easy way, or the hard way. " Jen said, cracking her knuckles and her neck.
When they stopped being shocked, the soldiers took their rifles and Klaw's sonic arm cannon began to turn on.
" I won't pay the hospital bill. " Gammazone said before they opened fire.
Arcee jumped to avoid the beams while Black Panther and Jen let themselves be hit.
T'challa's suit then glowed and he jumped towards a group and striked, releasing the kinetic energy he absorbed, sending them flying.
Jen then punched and kicked the a.i.m goons while Klaw was turning his cannon towards T'challa.
But Arcee seized him and slammed him on the ground, making him lose consciousness.
Silas got up and tried to escape but Jen landed in front of him and seized him by the front of his outfit.
" Not so fast, Si, we have a score to settle. " She said, dragging him towards Arcee and T'challa
" Jennifer Darby ?! How ? " he asked
" No matter. This time, you are finished. " Arcee said
But MODOK came back and shot a beam at them, making them dodge.
" You are no match for my genius ! " He yelled
" And the Moon is no match for your head ! " Jen responded before jumping at him but was repelled by his forcefield.
Arcee shot at him but her shots were stopped as were T'challa's vibranium daggers.
" Useless ! You can't hit what you can't touch ! " MODOK snarled, with a smirk
Jen then took Klaw's cannon and used it against the Big head, which made him stop his forcefield and took his head.
" What is it this noise ?! Stop it ! " He yelled
Arcee set her blasters on stun mod and blasted MODOK, making him fall unconscious.
" It was a good thinking Jennifer. It is good that you use your head as well as your muscles." T'challa recognized
" Thanks Highness. You can call me Jen, like all my friends do. " Gammazone said
" Only if you call me T'challa. " Black Panther answered
Jen nodded and T'challa went to a computer and tried to find their projects.
( one hour later )
MODOK and Klaw were sent to the Raft while Jen and Arcee came back to the base with a bound Silas. Agent Fowler and General Bryce arrived to interrogate him.
" So this is where the Magic happens. " Silas stated
" Leland Bishop, Aka Silas. Ex-colonel in the Special tactics, Architect of Project Damocles, which caused your discharge. " General Bryce stated
" What's your link with MODOK ? " Fowler asked
" He is my leader, the main benefactor of MECH. Where do you think we got all our weapons ? " Silas answered
" What did you do with what you learned from dissecting Breakdown ? " Optimus asked
" We were supposed to bring his corpse to MODOK for him to convert him into Project Chimera, our greatest weapon against the old World order. " Silas answered
" But everything fell apart when we stood in your way. " Arcee said
" Klaw was supposed to sell us vibranium to better our tech but you followed him. " Silas said
" One last thing before you are taken away. " Fowler said
June then came in front of Silas and slapped him.
" That was for selling us to that Spider Bitch. " June said
Bryce and Silas then went to the groundbridge and teleported away.
" What is this project Damocles ? " Jen asked
" The work of a madman : A satellite that launch a laserbeam that can cut the Pentagone like a birthday cake. " Fowler answered
( The next day )
Arcee, Jen, Ant-man and Wasp were exploring an abandonned energon mine, but their detector was detecting a weak signal.
But they didn't that just after they entered, Megatron and Starscream had arrived.
" Lord Megatron, far from me to question your wisdom, but I cannot understand why you wanted to return here, after all this time. " Starscream said, but Megatron didn't said anything and entered.
" All energon has been extracted, there is nothing left. " Starscream added
" Spare me your commentaries, Starscream. " Megatron said, before continuing
Soon they arrived in an area where decepticon drills were still there.
" Strange, isn't it ? " Megatron commented
Starscream flinched before taking an outraged face.
" Incompetent fools ! This equipment should have been put in order ! What is it still doing here ? " He asked
" An excellent question. " Megatron said, making starscream flinch
" Sorry Master, I think Soundwave was in charge of this mine. " Starscream said
Megatron glared at him.
" But to be fair, in your absence, we all had to take more responsibilities. It is obvious there was some mistakes. " Starscream added
" Yes, it is obvious. " Megatron said, before punching the rock on his right, and pulling out a chunk of energon.
" All the energon was extracted, you said ?! " Megatron said
" Lord Megatron, I can all explain. " Starscream tried to say
" Explain what ?! That you hid energon here for your personal uses ! " Megatron concluded, dropping the energon on the ground.
" No, not exactly. You see... " The seeker tried to say, but Megatron crushed the energon under his foot.
" DO NOT TAKE ME FOR A FOOL, STARSCREAM ! " Megatron yelled, before continuing in a calmer but still threatening tone. " I have been wise to your transgressions from the beginning. Not only did you pluck the Dark Energon from my chest in a failed attempt to snuff my spark, but you tried to raise your own undead warrior with it. It's no secret that you lost an arm in the process, which you've since had replaced."
" You know about that ?! " Starscream said, shocked
" Soundwave is quite competent at surveillance, I can assure you. The fact is Starscream, despite your treachery, I've allowed you to carry on this long because I took a certain delight in following your string of failures. But you've finally become tiresome, predictable...you've hit rock bottom." Megatron stated before pointing his cannon at his second in command
" Please master ! Give me one last chance ! I beg you ! " Starscream pleaded, kneeling down.
( with Arcee and Jen )
Having been separated from Ant-man and Wasp, Arcee and Jen were walking towards the source of voices they heard. But what they found froze them in place.
" You ceased to be useful, Starscream. You have no reason to be. " Megatron stated
Starscream saw the two girls, allowing Megatron to see them too.
The warlord then turned his cannon and shot towards Arcee and Jen who took cover.
Starscream then run towards the exit, but Megatron saw him.
" STARSCREAM ! YOU DARE ABANDON ME ! " he yelled before shooting at the seeker, who transformed and avoided the shots.
Arcee then shot at Megatron in his back, making him turn but she shot his arm, directing his shots towards the ceiling and making it fall on him.
But the cave collapsed, taking the two girls.
( with ant-man and Wasp )
The cave collapsed and Scott grew in giant mode and placed himself above Janet, protecting her from the falling rocks.
( With Starscream )
He was almost at the exit, when rocks disturbed his balance and he changed back in robot mode.
( with Jen, minutes later )
The green girl dug herself out of rocks and began to seek her friends.
" Arcee ! Ant-man ! Wasp ! " She called
( with Ant-man and Wasp )
" Janet, are you alright ? " Scott asked
" Yes and you Scottie ? " Janet said, before seeing him holding the ceiling.
" Just hope that Arcee and Jen are fine because we really need help. " Scott said
" Continue to hold those rocks, I'll get us outta here. " Wasp said before moving the rocks blocking the entrance.
( with Starscream )
The seeker managed to dig himself out of the cave and he laughed about his lord's misfortune.
" Predictable, that's what you said about me ? Tell me who hit rock bottom now ? What's that ? I am sorry, I can't hear you under this pile of rubble. Goodbye Lord Megatron. May you rust in peace. " Starscream mocked before remembering something important
" But you survived far worse. If you get out of here alive, you will hold me responsible of your failure and I will have nowhere to go to escape your wrath. Worse than that, your stupid servants could come here and take the glory of rescuing you. Glory that could be all mine. " Starscream ranted before screaming to the Skies
" MEGATRON ! "
( with Jen )
Gammazone continued to call her friends when she saw a decepticon drill.
" Well, that could be useful. " She stated before jumping in front of the commands
She pushed buttons at random and it miraculously worked.
She made it going forwards.
" Roll out. " She proudly said
( With Ant-man and Wasp)
" You hear that ? " Scott asked
" Someone is digging. Arcee and Jen are fine." Janet said
" Janet, take a rock and smash it against the wall. " Scott suggested
Wasp did as he said.
( with Jen )
Gammazone had just dug in a wall, hoping to find her friends but her hopeful smile turned into shock then a glare for it was Megatron she found.
" I assume you have no intention of helping those less fortunate than you, Jennifer ? " Megatron snarked
" Not you, I won't. " She snarled
" If that's the case, why don't you use your drill or your strenght to kill me ? I can assure you that you will never have a better opportunity than right now. " he goaded her
Jen hesitated : She could end this nightmare right now but would the others approve ?
" Well, what are you waiting for ? " Megatron taunted her
" I must say that the temptation is so great. " Jen admitted
" Then think of the glory, seize the day. Optimus would. " Megatron added
This was that lie that made Jen took her decision.
" No he wouldn't. Not like this. That would be the easy way out, Megatron. You don't deserve it. " Jen said, before going away
" I will be sure to share the details of our little conversation with Optimus - The day I will rip off his spark ! " Megatron threatened her
" Don't bother waiting forever, I'll tell him myself. " Jen responded
She continued her way and saw Starscream threatening Ant-man and Wasp. She rammed him with her drill.
" Hands above your head, Starscream. " She threatened him
The seeker did as he was ordered and Ant-man dropped the ceiling on him before taking Wasp in his hand and they got out.
" Wait, you can't leave me here ! " Starscream pleaded
" Maybe Megatron will be in a forgiving mood. " Jen responded
( Outside )
The three had found Arcee and got out of the mine.
" We could finish them, right now. " Arcee stated
" Too bad Thor isn't here. " Scott added
" Would Optimus do this ? " Jen asked
" No. Not like this. Let's go home. " Arcee answered
( at the base )
Jen couldn't stop to think if she made a mistake by leaving Megatron alive. She decided to talk to Optimus.
She found him at the top of the mountain,hiding the base, talking with Captain America, Thor and Black Panther. They all turned towards her.
" Jennifer. What are you doing here ? " Optimus asked
" I wanted to talk to you about something that happened in the mine. " Jen answered
" We are listening, Gammazone. " Cap said
" When I was seeking Arcee, Scott and Janet, I found Megatron. He was trapped, defenseless. He said I could just kill him with the drill...that I could seize the day...That...That you would do it. But I didn't. I spared him. " Jen explained " Did I just make a mistake ? "
" No Jennifer. You made the right decision. I wouldn't have killed him, not like this. I am very proud of you. " Optimus said, with a small smile
" He is right, Amazon of gamma. Only cowards kills defenceless enemies, without fighting them first. " Thor said
" I am sure your father would be very proud of you, Jen. If he was anything like his own father." Cap stated, having known Jen's grandfather
" You are a warrior with the heart of a Queen, Jen. Never forget that. " T'challa stated, taking off his mask to show he was looking proudly at her.
This conversation brought a smile, but mostly a blush on Jen's face. She was relieved Optimus and her idols wouldn't judge her.
