The name 'Neverknown' comes from Michael Rylers' the Reverse Moonklark fic, which you can find in my favorites list.

"Calm down," pronounced Alden. "No need to worry." Sophie frowned at him. Mr. Forkle cut in.

"Miss Foster, I need to show you something at Watchward Heath. Would you come with me now? You may bring your friends if you wish."

"Not Keefe," muttered Sophie. Mr. Forkle's lips pressed together. "Fine," she relented. "I'll hail them now." She took out her Imparter and hailed Biana.

When Biana's face appeared on the screen, Sophie began to talk. "Hey, Mr. Forkle wants to show me something, and he said you and Fitz could come along."

Biana nodded. "Dex and I will meet you at Havenfield. I don't think Fitz is up for it."

Sophie nodded. She knew that it was because of Keefe's disappearance, but she was secretly relieved.

As soon as Biana and Dex arrived together, Mr. Forkle took a clear crystal and held it up to the light. Sophie closed her eyes as the warm wind swept her away.

As they appeared on Westward Heath's lawn, it took Sophie a moment to realize that four black hooded figures were standing silently in front of them.

With white symbols on their arms. Immediately, Biana Vanished while Dex began to fiddle with one of his gadgets.

After pressing her panic ring, Sophie started to build on every conflicting emotion of sadness and anger in her mind, building, and building.

"Hold, Sophie." said the far-right figure in a woman's voice. "Who are you?" gasped Sophie, losing her concentration. The far-right one spoke again.

"I am Incense, and this is Toggle." She nodded at the figure to her right. "What group do you answer to?" asked Mr. Forkle cautiously.

Though Sophie couldn't see her face, Sophie totally imagined Incense smirking. "Isn't that obvious?" she asked, holding up her forearm.

"The Neverknown."

Sophie was speechless. "The Neverknown?" asked Dex. "Maybe you should change your name to 'Known,' 'cause now we know about you."

Biana stifled a snort. Incense cocked her head. "As the atmosphere is not hostile, our added protection will now leave. This is a sign of trust."

The two figures on the left leaped away. Mr. Forkle frowned. "How do you know where this is?" he questioned.

Yep, thought Sophie. Incenese is definitely smirking. "Your registry pedants," replied Incense, pointing. "You have them on."

"Did you hack the registry feed?" demanded Sophie. Toggle spoke in a deep voice.

"Do not pretend that you have not done similar things yourself, Miss Foster." Dex reddened. "It isn't her fault, I'm the Technopath, and it was my idea."

Everyone stared at him. "Well," said Incense, breaking the silence. "We have sent away two of our members; it is only fair that you do the same for us."

Mr. Forkle nodded. "Those are reasonable terms, considering that we have an Inflictor and you do not. Mr. Dizznee, Miss Vacker, if you would escort yourselves

out." Grumbling, Dex eventually left with Biana. Incense cut straight to the point.

"I am here to negotiate a non-aggression pact between the Black Swan and the Neverknown."

"As far as we know," said Mr. Forkle politely, "You are as violent as the Neverseen." Incense cocked her head yet again.

"Let us start with a clean slate. The truth is, yes, we do agree with the Neverseen. Our world needs change. The elven Council is a flawed power system, and

it needs change. Humans destroy and pillage the earth, and animals are driven to near extinction. Yes, these things need to change.

But do not think that all elves who believe this is true defer to using violent and otherwise unsavory methods as the Neverseen do!"

Incense was trembling with anger now. "You judge us to be like the Neverseen because we have similar names, but what if I told you that the Neverknown

was founded first and that the Neverseen was based after us. I would have thought that you, of all people, would have more sense than to judge at first sight!

You-you need help." this said, Incense stomped off down the hill. No one knew what to say after that. Then Toggle spoke.

"Incense can get very… passionate about the things she cares about." Mr. Forkle nodded. "It goes in the name."

Toggle laughed, surprising as he cut a commanding figure in his black cloak.

"Here," said Toggle, holding out a causal piece of parchment. "This is from our leader. It's the agreement." Mr. Forkle skimmed it.

He looked up incredulously. "This is sounding a lot like the Neverseen." Toggle rolled his eyes. "It's optional." Mr. Forkle resumed.

Finally looking up, he spoke. "I'll think it over. How can I contact-" Incense walked up behind him and dropped a yellow crystal in his hand.

"That's temporary. Be sure of yourself." Quick as a wink, she and Toggle lept away. "Well," said Sophie, staring at the crystal laying in his hand.

"That happened."
