Remnant: Gas Station
Ironwood stood at the top of Frostbyte's station awaiting the return of his teams. It has now been nearly three days since departure and Ironwood was close to making the entire Atlas fleet space worthy until he spotted four specks growing larger and heading for the open hangar doors.
Team Gas and the Ace-Ops arrived back to Remnant with several new items of note attached to each robot. K-9 now wears a red scarf around the approximation of his neck and held a giant mechanical black and green spider that had its eight legs wrapped around a giant red sphere. Glancing to Skalgar Ironwood noticed the ram hammer it held in one hand and a mecha-sky blue turtle under his other arm while a pill shaped robot bee fluttered behind him, attached to a… Is that a rip-cord!?
Frostbyte carried in hand a purple double barrel pistol finished off with a bayonet shaped like a horseshoe crab, on her back rested a red collapsed blade with the head of a serpent, at her side stood two smaller robots, no bigger than a Paladin-290; which is quite small even when compared to Skalgar, one looked like someone successfully crossbred a white lion and a revolver, complete with sentience, as Ironwood came to suspect watching it spin its main before locking it in place several times. The other robot's blue and gold legs looked like giant mechanical fists using their thumbs to act as legs and pinky-tips as feet, that connected to a blue and silver torso shaped like a shogun's helmet with head and arms, a crescent moon covered its chest.
Mrgas had a new addition to his right elbow; if the mechanical tentacles are any indication Atlas personnel would put their money on it being a squid (painted a dark ocean blue) that likely acted as an elbow spike, on his left knee rested a red mecha-starfish, in his hand was a four bladed red and gold axe shaped like a pinwheel with glaring eyes. Now that Ironwood looked over each animal styled robot again they all had glaring eyes, that followed anything that moved.
"And we got a few more toys on the way." Jaune commented before removing the axe with a face before everyone began posing with their new weapons.
Dark lands
The time has finally come for Cinder to lead her first attack against the Blue Knight. Salem commanded the last of the Geist to possess the giant alien robots before looking over the dark army of giant knights as she addressed Cinder standing next to her.
"Now you should be ready to face off against the Blue Knight and his friends before making your way to Vale to get the rest of the Fall Maiden power."
"I'll be sure to leave nothing left of the Blue Knight." Cinder responded not having the courage to correct Salem that robots and knights are not the same thing.
"See that you do." Salem eyes glowed briefly as the Grimm Knights saluted her and released cries of the damned into the dark skies.
Days Later
The five members of team Gas found themselves elbow deep in replacement parts outside the Atlas base in Argus. Jaune and Oscar surprisingly wearing their uniforms and saluting like real Atlas students with Mrgas doing the same thing as it stood unmanned out in the water waist deep, if the giant robot had paint that matched Atlas colors; Caroline's joy would know no bounds but she'll take both of her grandsons becoming fine Atlas gentlemen especially with all the suitors she could see!
"At ease cadets." She commanded, watching the five take a more relaxed stance. "You all are here to make some much needed upgrades to the Colossus unit," Caroline paused before standing before her two grandsons. "And if you have the need to repaint it, it will be done in traditional Atlas colors. Do I make myself clear you two?"
""Yes, Gammy-Gam."" The two answered back in fear at the consequences if they forget.
"Good now, come give Gammy her hugs then we can meet the rest of the staff that will help." Caroline spread her arms out as Jaune and Oscar lifted her into a family hug.
Meeting the other staff assigned by Caroline to help on this project did not sit well with Jaune when seeing the engineers look over the plan to replace all Dust powered components. Jaune immediately took them off the project to Caroline's horror but she could not object to the powers given to Jaune by Ironwood. It would be like undermining the General himself if she did.
Now Jaune and Ceil worked on removing the old shield generator on the back of the robot with help from Mrgas, to make room for the new one set up to work without Dust. Oscar and Penny are placing a new dish that will sit on the side of the false mountain, and Caroline had dragged Winter off to her office to be informed about the upgrades.
"Was it really smart to get rid of the extra help?" Ceil asked as Mrgas set a new generator in the once empty compartment and held it their before Jaune got out and walked down the arm to her. Picking up several tools they both got to work securing it.
"Smart? No, but can you blame me? I mean they didn't even try asking how it would work, just laughed until I kicked them out the room."
"Point taken." Ceil responded making sure the last bolt was in place. "Okay, we're done here, now we just need to check on the dish. Hopefully Oscar and Penny finished placing it." Jaune checked the time after Ceil said that.
"And just in time to get ready for the concert tonight in Argus . Hurry up, let's go." Jaune cheered running up Mrgas arm.
Cordovin's Command Center.
"…and that is how the new system will be working." Winter explained to the gathered personnel, consisting of the engineers that Jaune sent away. Specialist Cordovin did not take kindly to her soldiers trying to shoot down Arc's clearly superior intelligence with their notions of Dust power and showed as she ordered the team to sit and listen to Winter's explanation. "Now if all personnel would turn in the Atlas Military scrolls at the end of the day any information pertaining to Colossus will be scrubbed out. Seeing how none of you can actually work on these engines you will be reassigned and a hand picked team from Blackguard will be taking over the upkeep."
Cordovin sat smugly as her once top engineer team turned in their scrolls and left her office, from anyone else she would have raised a stink over it but this was Winter Schnee, the prodigy of the Atlas Military and one of the top pilots for said military. And soon to be granddaughter-in-law.
"So Winter how are my Jaune and Oscar doing in Atlas?" Caroline asked letting her age reach her voice as to sound less commanding.
"Remarkable, they have both completed the academic side of the academy but I have my suspicions that Jaune might have helped Oscar to do so. Personal combat is another matter altogether their not very good at fighting hunters outside of their robots." Winter answered putting away files and other physical blueprints. Caroline nodded her head in understanding.
"How is you relationship going with Jaune?" Caroline used her old voice once more even sagging in her seat slightly to really drop Winter's defenses.
"I think I'm making progress with the surprise weapons I put in Mrgas-" Winter paused as she realized she admitted the crush she has on Jaune, to his grandmother no less! her face exploded red from embarrassment, Cordovin laughed simply, after getting her answer.
"Calm down Vice-Captain Schnee. I completely approve of you courting Jaune and I want no less than three cadets." Caroline teased, making Winter blush harder.
Stadium
After a quick wardrobe change for the girls, the group arrived to see some familiar faces standing in the mosh pit section.
"Jaune!" Bleiss exclaimed throwing herself into Jaune's arms before trying to kiss him. Winter was quick to restrain her sister as Oscar laughed at Jaune's luck. Bleiss looked to her sister noticing the new clothes she wore. A black tank-top that exposed her six pack and skinny jeans.
"Where's Ruby?" Oscar asked looking around for the girl until someone jumped on his back.
"Oscar!" Ruby cheered seeing wrapping her arms around the boy. Jaune looked to the new face staring back at both he and Oscar, looking somewhat stars struck. Penny did not like the girl with the red cape hugging Oscar, with effort she pulled Ruby off before depositing her into Yang's waiting arms.
"Who dat?" Jaune asked.
"I'm Blake Belladonna, and I'm only one of you fans." Blake spoke, shaking Jaune's hand before pulling out a book. "Can I get your team's autograph?"
Suddenly the concert began bringing large smiles to both Jaune and Yang.
""MOSH-PIT!"" They both yelled before harshly bumping their shoulders with each other and every one around them, including Penny who Jaune knocked down leading Ruby to laugh until Yang shoulder checked her, throwing the girl into the middle of the mush.
"NOT LIKE THIS! NOT LIKE THIS!" She wailed as she was pushed deeper.
Colossus
"Ma'am, there are multiple bogies entering Argus air space." One of the personnel responded seeing a large congestion of dots several miles out over the ocean.
"Who would be foolish enough to breach our airways?"
"They're …giant robots? Ma'am the numbers keep growing! Should we send a distress to Atlas?" The fear in the soldier's voice growing more by every new bogie on screen.
"Yes." Caroline ordered while pulling out her scroll.
Stadium
As the band readied another song both teams RBBY and Gas found themselves glaring each other down from opposite sides of the pit. The wall of death has always been Jaune's favorite thing at any concert, to bad he didn't get to enjoy it as Winter dragged the whole team out to the hallway.
"We have an emergency! Glorft have been spotted heading towards Argus." Winter reported running out the building to Mrgas.
"Didn't we already beat those guys for good?" Jaune asked starting up the robot and heading to the Argus waters and landing next to Skalgar. Oscar and Penny quickly got into the robot before both looked out over the ocean, seeing more robots than they have time to count landing.
"I don't think those are Glorft." Jaune commented seeing the Geist masks where mechanical squid faces once were. Winter scanned the new robots and from the looks on her face she was not happy with results.
"They're Glorft alright but worse they somehow combined with the Grimm to creat those." Winter explained. Suddenly the last robot landed in front of the small army, shocking team Gas at the familiar but twisted image of Mrgas.
Black replacing blue as the flaming masks of a Beowolf and Ursa lined its limbs and lastly the Geist mask that sat where Jaune's car would be.
"What the hell is that?" Oscar asked staring at the new challenger while Penny ran her own scans.
"It some kind of Grimm -sorry misspoke I meant Mrgas."
"I don't care what it is! They stole my designs!" Jaune felt rage boils his blood as he frantically tried to establish communications before the Geist mask sole eye glowed as it cast an image of an ivory skinned woman's head, dark veins looking like crakes in an immaculate white vase.
"Blue Knight of Remnant though you have put on a good showing in besting the Gods and sending them back to the stars, for that I thank you but now your time has come to face your defeat…" the new villain began to monologue.
Meanwhile in Atlas
"Marrow get me visuals of the battlefield, reports are coming in about a Grimm robot army." Ironwood sat in the command center overlooking the Gas Station. A secret room only accessible to those personally screened by Winter (Including James Ironwood himself to his shock.) so far only Marrow, Elm, and himself are cleared to take control of weapon launcher system inspired from the rocket lockers of Beacon.
Marrow quickly honed in on the image of Salem's head being projected from the Grimm Mrgas.
"Activate the Mammoth delivery Zorp!" Ironwood exclaimed without hesitation.
Stone crumbles away at the edges of the Gas Station hangar as red eyes light with more ferocity than any Grimm. An elephants war cry sounded over the city of Mantle before a long ramp extended and more rubble fell away revealing the head of a Mammoth with the ramp acting as it trunk
The citizens of Mantle looked up seeing the new addition to Atlas and getting the special attention of Robyn Hill and her Happy Huntresses.
"When did Atlas build that?" Asked May watching as several orbs roll down the trunk and into a machine that launched them far into the distance.
"I don't know but we will be finding out what other secrets they've been hiding since we left."
Argus
"…either join me on this day or be annihilated like the rest of this city will soon be."
Drool began to dangle from the side of Jaune's mouth as he stared blankly at Salem as she continued with her speech, Winter noticed his blank look before elbowing him in the side, jolting him from the stupor. After shaking his head to focus he turned on the speakers and mic.
"Are we gonna fight or are you just gonna talk?" Jaune asked rhetorically revving the engines.
"Sir, weapon spheres 1 and 2 are here." Ceil reported before both Skalgar and Mrgas sharply uppercut the air, breaking two giant orbs that housed the golden Ram Hammer and red Serpent Sword. A third orb broke itself apart into very small camera drones spreading out over the soon to be battlefield before casting a hologram of calm water to the city.
Skalgar went high, bringing his hammer down on the head of the robot on GrimmGas immediate right, before charging into the body of soldiers. Adjusting his grip Skalgar used his hammer as battering ram, caving in the chest of the once Glorft robot, a light glowed from it's chest as it went sailing. Landing down the robot exploded taking five more with it. Pivoting on his back foot, Skalgar buried the head of a robot between it shoulders before taking another swing. Another Glorft scored a lucky hit punching Skalgar from behind.
Mrgas brought his sword into an overhead strike, sparks of scraping metal lit up over the waters as two daggers blocked the sword. GrimmGas showing just as much effort holding off the attack as Mrgas putting into it, GrimmGas mouth opened before firing off a sonic screech; pushing Mrgas into the fake mountain.
"Oh, that's how you wanna play!?" Jaune yelled after establishing audio connection to the twisted half-maiden before Mrgas dropped his sword and clapped his hands unleashing his own sound wave. GrimmGas' jets kicked in letting the attack harmlessly pass under, only to detonate a small portion of the robot army.
The Mountain began to open revealing the first giant robot Colossus.
"How dare you repugnant automatons Touch my grandsons!" Caroline exclaimed locking a frost cartridge in in place and freezing the water around the feet and legs of the Glorft. Skalgar jumped as the ice passed underneath. Taking aim at another group an avalanche of boulders shot out from the canon, followed by missiles lighting up the sky.
"It's time for a little hockey." Oscar joked as Skalgar now held his hammer like a hockey stick before skating off across the ice knocking out the legs of the Grimm-Glorft.
"Give up. Your tin toy is obsolete compared to me, while your at it I want your belt!" A disguised voice spoke for GrimmGas as the lone eye began to glow with the power of the half-maiden. Jaune lifted a brow before grabbing his controller, Mrgas tackled GrimmGas from the air before grabbing it's legs and throwing the Grimm into a cliff wall. Mrgas didn't give his counterpart room to counter as he started to lay haymakers into GrimmGas chest.
"You think you can take my belt! With these weak skills?" Jaune replied before GrimmGas kicked out. Mrgas feet skid back slightly before his chest opened up revealing missiles from top to bottom, explosion rained across GrimmGas body.
"Jaune, catch." Oscar ordered throwing Mrgas back Winter's Serpent Sword. Revving the jets Mrgas caught the sword before slicing a robot in half, displaying a peak into Jaune's true skill, cranking the radio Jaune kicked it into next gear. A missile fired from GrimmGas missed it mark as it destroyed another Cthulhu.
"Wow and I thought Ceil was bad." Jaune joked getting a indignant squawk from the backseat.
"Destroy him!" Cinder commanded the drones.
"YAAAAH!" Jaune roared as Mrgas grabbed a robot by it's mask, crushing it under hand as his sword separated the top from it legs. Mrgas threw the torso in a group taking aim with their gatling arms, all exploding in a crash of parts. Mrgas made for GrimmGas as the dark giant took aim with a giant glass arrow, two robots tackled Mrgas stopping the Blue Knight in his tracks as the both held him in place, bring the sword down Mrgas split both cockpits open before kicking the bodies over. Just then the glass arrow hit Mrgas, doing nothing except scratch the paint. Jaune looked at the broken bulk of the arrow sticking out of the water.
"Did you just try to pierce metal with glass?" Jaune asked trying to comprehend why that was a good idea.
"No." A little too quickly.
GrimmGas took its opening punching Mrgas off his feet before heating up the water to boil Arc alive, Winter lightly fanned herself off before turning on the A/C. Mrgas blasted from the water with a punch launching GrimmGas into a hoard of Cthulhu's making them explode before GrimmGas could get up, Cinder could see Skalgar lining up his hammer with the Geist Mask cockpit.
"FORE!" Penny exclaimed watching not only the cockpit disappear off in the distance but also several sections of the dark Mrgas disappear revealing what was left of Dark Mrgas.
"They didn't just steal your designs, they stole your tech." Winter observed.
"Ceil call in a recovery team, Ace-Ops only. Their new Zorp should be able to get this back to the Gas Station."
"Yes, sir." Jaune turned Mrgas to help clean up the rest of the Glorft only to see Wildfyre finish of the last of the robots with a giant red scythe.
"Nice."
Later
After securing any and all salvageable parts, Team Gas and Team RBBY sat around Mrgas shoulders having their own celebration party. Jaune cooking burgers off his hot jet engines along with other delectables being like bacon wrapped cheesesteaks being made by Winter.
"So team RBBY didn't do so bad for your first run-in with aliens." Oscar commented from his lawn chair and relaxing with a sigh.
"Wait! Hold on you gotta explain this." Blake cried out being the only one to be shocked by the term.
"This is technically my and Ruby's second time. Remember Oscar? They attacked the car show."
"Oh yeah, forgot about that."
"Hey, we can talk about aliens later for now, let's eat and talk about how my team is taking the Vytal championship." Jaune interrupted.
"That's a pretty bold claim Jaune, we'll see what you got when your team visits Beacon." Yang sounded relaxed, as if Jaune wasn't a threat.
"What my team has is a small platoon of robots that either transform or boost power. Hell, Neon and Flint have been working on something big in secrete." Jaune tried to warn handing out plates. "We'll be sure to have toys by the time the new semester starts."
"Jaune sign my action figures, please." Ruby ordered dropping a several assorted boxes of Jaune and Mrgas action figures while Oscar was buried his own and Skalgar's
