Chapter one: Prologue
School was over, finally. It had been seven and a half hours of school plus cheerleading and Aiko was exhausted. She headed straight to the locker room to take off her practice uniform. Chestnut colored locks which were put up in a pony tail fell loose as she took out her hair-tie.
"It's over, finally" She reminded herself. Aiko sighed. Her day hadn't gone bad; she was just tired and had been all day. More than anything she wanted to be home. Putting all feelings of physical drainage aside, she put on a smile as she met Cami, her best friend who was studying abroad this year away from her home in Japan. Cami had been in Hong Kong only a few months and already she was the talk of the school. Of course, that was how it always was.
"Hey Ai." Cami smiled pulled out her digital camera. Her wavy black hair danced in the breeze.
"Hey Cami," She smirked greeting her back. "taking pictures again I see." Aiko looked down at her friend's camera.
"Yeah, mom wants to see pictures every few weeks. I can't let her down."
Aiko laughed. It was true. Cami's mother always wanted up-to-date news on her daughter's time in Hong Kong.
"I got some great shots of the new routine which looks great by the way. I'm sure your mom would want to see."
"Speaking of her…" Aiko reached in her bag. "I have to call and tell her cheerleading is done." Her cell phone wasn't in her usual place in her bag. "I think I left it in the locker room. I'll be back."
Cami nodded letting Aiko sprint off for her phone.
"I can't believe I'm so forgetful!" Aiko cursed herself mentally not realizing how fast she was actually going. Within a split second, she was falling on the ground. Again, she mentally kicked herself. "I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed in panic. "I never watch where I'm going!"
"You half-wit!" A female voice snapped. Aiko looked up blinking not believing her eyes.
"What in the world?"
"Aiko? Is that you?"
A girl stood in front of her. She was thin girl with porcelain skin and black hair that fell to her lower back. Her brown eyes stared into Aiko's hazel-green ones. "It can't be…" Aiko gasped in surprise.
"Aiko, are you okay?" she heard Cami's voice in her confusion. She stood as the raven haired girl did.
"Yeah…I am." Aiko rubbed her head then looked at both of them.
"How could this happen? She is not supposed to be here…I though I was done with her…"
"Are you guys okay?" Cami looked at Jeiming noticing Aiko and her behavior. "Are you okay, too?"
The raven haired girl smiled. "Yes. No big deal. Aiko is always clumsy." She helped Aiko up as she still stood dazed.
"Oh, you two know each other? Are you new?" Cami asked.
"Yes, you could say we're like sisters…"
