A few days before the Covention

"Eda!?" Luz shouted as she saw that the witch was nowhere to be found as she tugged her mother's dress. "Mija what is it?" "I can't find Eda." Camila barely knew the woman for a few days but saw that she was a very heavy drinker. "She's probably just getting more drinks."

Soon the show was over as many people left as Camila and Luz were the only ones around as they walked back to the Owl House not noticing a large caged carriage leaving as screeches and roars came out of it. Camila opened the door and found the place empty. "Mami she's not here..." "I can see that." Camila then slammed the door as Hooty woke up. "Jeez, can't someone get some sleep..." "Bird tube did Eda show up?" "Nope, not since you three left Hoot."

"Luz stay here." "I want to help!" "You can help by staying here," Camila said before leaving Luz inside the house and telling Hooty to keep an eye on her as she left towards the town. After checking about five taverns and a few alleyways Camila went back to where the show was as she searched around and found a small pile of feathers and a bit of blood which then left a small trail to something that used to be there as she then followed a set of tracks.

"Let me help my Mama!" Luz said as Hooty was wrapping himself around her even in her basilisk form. "No way she told me to keep an..." "Is that a fly?" "WHERE!?" Hooty said as he let Luz go to search for it as the young Basilisk then took off slithering.

Heckman Hall Manor

Camila was standing on the front door as she then knocked on the door as a servant opened it. "May I help you?" "Uhm... I'm looking for a friend of..." "Alonzo who's at the door?"

Olivia said as she walked over and looked at Camila. "Oh it's you, why are you here?" "I think my friend is somehow in your home." "And who may this friend of yours be?"

"Eda," Camila said as Olivia spat out a cup of tea she was drinking which ended up on Alonzo's face. "Like I'd let that dirty clothed witch into my home so how about you just go..." Soon the sound of crashing lightning as the clouds then turned black as Olivia then growled a bit. "Fine, you can stay here till the boiling rain stops but not a single speck of filth inside."

Camila then slowly went in and saw a flower melt from a raindrop. "At least Luz s safe."

"Ow ow ow!" Luz yelled as she slithered trying to get away from the rain as the drops burned her skin till she started banging at the door before remembering she was in her normal form as she quickly shifted as the door opened.

"Now what is... Miss Divila!" Alonzo yelped before leading Luz inside as Alonzo went to get a few bandages. "Wow, that was easier than I expected." She said to herself as she walked around the manor and saw a large portrait of Olivia and her parents as it looked like the smile she had looked a bit forced.

Camila was given the guest room which was a lot fancier than she thought much to Olivia's dismay. "This is too much." "Oh really? Well, it's not really used that often and..." Soon there was a loud noise. "What was that?" "Excuse me ALONZO!"

The servant then came in holding a large pile of medical supplies. "What are you doing with that?" "Mistress your daughter was out in the rain and..." "Impossible she came home before the rain I saw her in her room half an hour ago, no just put those back and head downstairs we may have a delay on next month's trend."

The servant gulped as he then left as Camila then looked at Olivia with suspicion. "This place is like a maze how does one even get around here?" Luz said to herself before bumping into a door and knocking on it as there was no answer as she opened it as it lead to a down staircase as she walked down it.

"I was in here the whole time," Davila said to her mother. "Alonzo said that..." "Maybe if you gave him a break once in a while..."

"SILENCE!" Olivia shouted before leaving as Davila then grunted as a whimper came from under her bed. "It's alright Arlo she's gone." The girl told her dog while stroking its three heads as she walked out of her room as the dog then sniffed the floor. "What is it?" Arlo then sniffed and followed a trail as Davila followed.

"Why so many stairs?" Luz thought as her legs were tired as she reached the final step and saw a very large room with the sound of sewing machines and a bit of whining from animals as she walked and saw multiple cages some full of creatures and others empty. "What is this place?" Luz then looked at the cages to find a few creatures most of them young. Luz then tried to open the cages but to no avail so she looked around for a hairpin and instead found a sketchbook as she flipped through it seeing lots of dresses with furs, feathers, etc. while reading the names for them.

"Griffin feathers with jewels sewed, dyed furs and skins!?" Luz almost felt like vomiting but she held it as she walked away as she was grabbed by Olivia. "Now darling what are you doing in mommy's workspace?" "Stay away from me you... poacher!"

"Poaching? Davila, please most of these creatures no one knows of their existence and most of them are going extinct anyway so..." Suddenly Luz's stomach growled as she remembered she only ate one card that day and now she had run out. "Let me go!" "And why should I... OW!" Olivia winced in pain as Luz bit her hand as she then to out of the woman's grasp and made a run for it only to be wrapped in magical chains.

"No please..." Luz cried as her body then shifted back as Olivia looked at her. "A basilisk?!, well this just got interesting." She said smiling before magically tossing Luz in a cage before leaving as the Basilisk then cried on the cold floor.

Camila breathed heavily as she reached the bottom to find several creatures inside cages as she then started picking the lock with a hairpin from her hair as the creatures ran and started wreaking everything in their path causing the ground to shake.

Davila then felt it as her dog whimpered as Olivia ran into her. "Mom what... why are you carrying that?" The girl asked as Olivia was holding a crossbow. "Just go to your room!" She ordered with a stern look at her eyes as Davila quickly nodded and ran up the stairs while Olivia slowly went down the stairs.

Camila had freed almost all of them as she stopped at a cage that was chained and tightly locked as it was very dark inside it so she used a lighter to peek inside only to back away as the creature inside it screeched showing its terrifying face and pitch-black eyes as it ran and hit its head on the metal bars as it screeched even louder and repeated the same thing over and over again.

"Would you stop it?!" Camila shouted at the creature as it then stopped and starred at Camila's pocket as Camila then pulled to Luz's glitter pen with a flickering light clicker as she moved it as the beast's eyes were focused on it while Camila then placed it in front of its eyes as the lights flickered on and off as it then made a loud humanoid scream as it started curling into a ball which got smaller and smaller as it's fur and feathers fell of leaving dark orange hair followed by coughing as Eda stood up looking dazed, confused, and tired.

"What... where am I?" "Eda?" Eda then saw Camila who had a face of shock as Eda found herself in a cage. "How much did you see?" Camila tried to speak but no words came out.

"Ok stand back about a few feet," Eda told her as Camila did so as the witch made a large spell circle as the entire cage exploded covering Eda in soot. "Ok let's find Luz and get out of here."

Davila tried to move around the house but the ground would shake almost every second as she had enough and headed down the stairs while she told the family butler to take care of her dog.

"LUZ?!" "MIJA!?" Eda and Camila shouted as their voices echoed around as the crying Basilisk then stopped crying as she started hitting the cage with her tail as the two women followed the sound as they found her as Camila started picking the lock as it opened as both mother and daughter then hugged each other. "What happened?" "Oliva she's a crazy fashionista who uses..." "Creatures, I know, oh you must be terrified now let's wait for this crazy rain to be over and..."

Camila didn't finish as she was then wrapped in magic chains as a cross-bolt hit Eda in the shoulder as she fell down and hissed in pain as Olivia stood there holding a crossbow as she then loaded in another bolt and aimed it. "Try to move and well your head will be on a wall on top of my fireplace." She threatened Luz as the young Basilisk then jumped and tackled her as Olivia then quickly pulled out a sharp Exacto knife and stabbed Luz in the side as she screamed in pain.

Davila then heard Luz's screams as she rushed down the stairs and saw her mother fighting some weird snake thing as well as two women who she recognized as the "Owl Lady" and Luz's mother.

Olvia then pulled the knife and aimed for Luz's face as young Basilisk then quickly wrapped herself around the woman as she was still cutting at her tail as Luz then grabbed her face. "You think I'm afraid of you little..." Those were Oliva's final words as Luz opened her mouth as Oliva's magic was sucked out of her as she fell to the floor motionless with her eyes open, her face sickly pale.

Camila then stood up as the chains then vanished and helped Eda as Luz swallowed and shifted to her human form as she cried. "is she..." Camila then checked Olivia's pulse. "She's alive but I don't think she'll be normal for a long time."

The three of them then turned around and saw Davila, her face was full of both mad and sad tears as she then cried on the floor next to her mother. Luz tried to go near her but Eda stopped her. "Just let her be." The four of them then left the Manor as the rain cleared away while they walked away with Camila holding Luz on her shoulder.

After the Covention

Davila simply sat in her room ignoring her dog's whines to go outside as she simply rang a bell as Alonzo walked in and nervously took the dog as it growled a bit. She then walked downstairs to the dining room where her mother was her face drooling as she then wiped her mother's face and feed her cereal into her open mouth. "Almost every time a made a sketch of clothing you always took it as yours and never once gave me credit, why? was it to teach me something, that I should do my own thing?"

She got no response as she simply looked at her family portrait, her mother a blonde and her father with simple black, and yet she had natural white hair but that would change as she headed to her parent's study room as it was full of sketches and clothes as she grabbed a bottle of permanent black ink and her mother's make up kit.

Alonzo came back after walking his master's dog which had torn his clothes a bit as the dog then began sniffing the ground and ran pulling the servant along as they stopped into Olivia's personal vault which was opened as her personalized clothes were tossed around and splattered with black ink as Davila was sitting on a large pile of clothes.

"Miss Davila, what are you doing?" Davila then slide down as she stood as Alonzo nearly fainted after seeing the young master who was wearing black eye makeup with white powder and finally her hair which was stained with black streaks all while wearing her mother's prized possession of a white coat with black spots on it which she reluctantly bought from the "Owl Lady" a few years ago which came from Europe during the '70s as Davila had trimmed it down to fit her.

"Miss Davila you... you..." "Relax what's the point of having this fabulous coat if it's never going to be worn? The skin is so soft you can almost feel the small hairs on it."

At that point, the butler fainted as Arlo whimpered and stepped back. "Oh relax, it's not made from a real dog... I hope..." She then took Arlo's leash as they walked around the manor as several servants either were in shock or passed out as Davila then entered her room and laid on her bed as a slight cackle came out of her.
