Welcome back and enjoy
Eda slowly woke up in her large nest before yawning and walking downstairs where Camila and Luz were awake and in the kitchen. "You two are up and early." "Well, the early bird gets the worm right?' Eda chuckled a bit before sitting down and eating with Camila and Luz.
"So... This curse of yours how often does it happen?" "It's mostly at random but luckily I have this gem right here." Eda then pointed to the yellow gem on her dress. "This baby basically tells me when it slowly happening which is why I have an entire stash of Elixir in my room."
"Your medication, and one bottle every time right?" Camila asked to which Eda responded by nodding as the nurse started taking notes while Luz was looking out the window seeing a few trees being knocked over before seeing a large tornado-like swirl. "Is this one of the isle's weird plagues?" Soon after experiencing boiling rain, Eda had then told them about other things to be worried about.
Eda then looked outside before groaning as she walked outside before standing in front of the swirl which then vanished to show a semi elderly woman as Eda then said the one thing she hated to say... "Mom."
"MOM?!" Camila and Luz said in confusion as the older witch then hugged Eda. "How have you been doing my little witchlet?" Camila and Luz snorted trying not to laugh as the older witch noticed them.
"Oh, I didn't know you had guests?" "Well, they're not, they're staying with me for... reasons..." "I see, Gwendoylen but you can call me Gwen if you want." The Nocedas then shook her hand. "Camila and Luz although people call me Cam," Camila told Gwen who then looked at their ears as was about to speak when Eda said, "No mother I didn't take them against their will, they came with me."
Gwen then simply walked into the house as she sat down while Eda took Camila and Luz to the kitchen. "Ok wait here and I'll just lead her to the front door." "Que? Eda that's your mom for crying out loud." Luz said as Camila joined in "I'd give anything to see my mother again,"
"Yeah well, you don't know her as I do," Eda said while rubbing her arms to which Camila noticed. "Does this have anything to do with you know?" "Yep, the first time she visited all she wanted to talk about was Curse this, Curse that, and then one visit after the next she'd try to find a way to fix it herself!"
"Is everything alright there?" Gwen asked as Eda then walked back with the Nocedas. "Yep, now mother you've met Camila, right? Well, she's been helping me with this curse, it's really helping me and..." Gwen then stood up and looked at Camila. "So tell me human what's your secret on helping her?"
Camila was sweating as she struggled to speak. "Well uh... I've helped people with similar cases to your daughter and although we started she's making great progress, mostly by ..." Gwen then held her hand in front of Camila's face. "Progress, what kind of progress?" "Mostly breathing exercises, meditation, maintaining a daily schedule of her Elixirs..."
"You're giving her that?!" Gwen yelled. "It's the only way to make sure it doesn't get worse and..." "Fool you're giving doing nothing but putting poison in her system," Gwen told her as Camila found it offensive to her human job. "Excuse me but I've been a nurse for a while and I've read a few of your world's treatments and it's both the same as chemotherapy helps with cancer."
"I have no idea what that is but you can't just say that your human diseases are like ours." "Oh, and what are your ideas of a cure for her then?" Gwen then made a scroll appear as it dropped to her feet as Camila looked at it. "Que es esto?, Runes, healing glyphs that's more for physical injuries, and... a demon exorcism?"
"Ok, truth be told that almost worked... but you made me starve and dehydrated for a week!" Eda said to her mother. "Well if you weren't eating maybe the curse would willingly come out of you."
"Not to mention you tried it yourself without any help," Eda said before Camila stepped in and gently held her hand. "I think it's time that you should leave." Gwen then glared at her. "How dare you tell me how to take care of my child, your like every healer and potion expert who checks on her and simply asks for large fees."
Camila was about to make a fist but Eda stopped her shaking her head as Luz said "Lunch anyone?"
Soon everyone was sitting at the table with Eda making the food while Camila and Gwen starred at each other and Luz tried to defuse the tension. "So... any photo's of Eda?" "Well, I never leave home without them." Gwen made a large photo pile appear as she started showing photos to Luz. "Here she is at the beach, oh and this is when she caught her first tooth fairy."
"Just to be clear, you forced my baby tooth out because you couldn't stand me twirling it with my tongue," Eda said while making toast. "It was a choking hazard, anyway now this one is special her first dance with her partner..." "Nope!"
Eda then snatched the photo and tucked it in her hair before serving them food while secretly putting a card in Luz's sandwich to which Gwen then snatched and pulled out. "Edayln Clawthone! What are thinking trying to harm this cute girl!?" Gwen then held Luz and patted her hair. "Mom it's complicated."
"Well, I guess I'll watch over you for a few days." And that was Eda's breaking point. "Why can't you just leave me to my life!?" "I'm trying to help you li..." "Enough, I'm not your "Little witchlet" anymore!" The owl lady said while slamming her fists at the table.
"E E Eda..." Luz stuttered pointing at her yellow gold gem which slowly turned dark black, while feathers began to sprout around her as Luz ran to Eda's room while Camila held Eda. "Remember deep breaths..." She told Eda only to get a response of growls and shrieks as she was now holding the back of a large owl beast as she then fell off as the owl beast then screeched at Gwen.
Luz then walked down the stairs before seeing the owl beast and letting a small yelp as she dropped the elixir in her hand as it shattered causing the beast to turn around and shriek at her now slowly walking at her as Gwen then made a spell circle wrapping the beast in chains only for it to easily break out of them before lifting one of its claws and swiping down at Gwen as Camila then took the blow letting out a painful scream as blood leaked from her back.
"MOM!" Luz yelled as Camila then stood up as the beast then looked at Camila before letting out a small cry slowly backing away as Camila slowly approached it.
"Have you lost your mind?! That is a savage m..." Gwen then stopped as Camila then placed both her hands at the whimpering beast. "Shh it's alright, it hurts but I'm alright Eda." Camila then started petting its head as Gwen was in shock seeing this human being able to tame such a bloodthirsty creature.
Camila then slowly pulled out a syringe without the needle which she had filled with Elixir. "This might sting a bit." She then slowly placed it near its nose as she stroked its feathers and then pressed on the plunger sending the Elixer into its nostrils as the beast still whimpered a bit before curling into a ball as Eda came back holding her nose to which Camila then placed a tissue inside it.
As Eda was placing healing glyphs and gauze while apologizing for the umpteenth time Gwen was talking with the human.
"How, I've been in the beast keeping coven for years, and never managed to tame it, so how did you..." Camila then answered, "I've worked with animals who sometimes fight back a bit and all you need to do is to just calm them down and it works sometimes... but in this situation, I think some part of Eda still recognized me somehow."
Gwen then sighed. "I guess you were right then, but that won't stop me from trying to cure her." "Well next time maybe you should try something that won't get your daughter killed," Camila said before Gwen left the house. "Oh and Edalyn maybe try to clean up once in a while, the place is a mess." The elderly witch then took off.
"Do you think we'll have to worry about her?" Luz asked. "Nah!, knowing my mother it'll take about a few years till she comes back with another crazy idea," Eda said as Camila then held Eda's shoulder. "Maybe there is a cure, maybe there isn't it doesn't matter we'll be with you all the way."
Eda smiled as Luz then remembered, "So Uhm... what about school?" "Well, you eat magic to change, right? Maybe you could find a way to harness it? I'm pretty sure I have a few demon books laying around and Cam what do you say about joining me on an expedition?"
"Expedition for what?" Eda then took out the portal Key from her hair. "To a place called "The Strip"? just the two of us, Luz can probably stay over with that rich friend of hers."
Camila then thought of it for a bit as it had been a while since she actually been back to the human realm and considering that Davilla was slowly warming up to Luz it'd would just be a day or two what could go wrong. "I'm in."
