Insanity Prelude
((Ghosts (Vincent de Moor Remix); By Tenth Planet))
Just when I think on my own
When I've broken every door
The ghosts of my life
Are louder than before
"Come on, Blair! Just you and me, let's create something grand! We've been blessed with talents like no other!" I held out my hand to her with a wide grin. She jogged up the steps, smiling back at me. Oh, that smile! Nothing filled me with such joy. Everything else was meaningless, lesser, dull. We'd beaten out lessons with ease and no one else suited such an intellect such as mine but her. She was the only one.
"Luther, what have you done now?" She laughed, grabbing my hand, allowing me to wrap my arm around her shoulders as I pulled her up the last step.
"This, my sister, is what I've been saving my whole life for!" I presented her with a moderate sized commercial building, perfect for our continuously developing minds.
"Your whole life, huh? What about that new game systems you blew your 'life's savings' on last year? Only then after you'd bought that high-quality game the month before that." She chided with a laugh.
"Come on, I worked hard for this place!"
"I know you did..." She rested her head on my chest. I was happy. This was our little secret. Siblings or not, we didn't care. Nobody else could compare to us, one was only meant for the other. I for her and her for me. Noone else was good enough for either.
Our small gaming company grew from a two story office to 100 stories fast. And then, with our break through on-going project, we reached a total of 211 stories. She was my most trusted companion, programmer, my everything. Every man dreams of giving the woman of his dreams the world. I did better, I made a world just for us and gave it to her. I added people in our world who would worship us like gods.
Then she... why? Why did she reject my gift? This was our world, the only place where we could truly be in love. 3D space, where we could make our own destinies aside from the ones handed to us by others. Why did she reject me?
Just when I thought I could not be stopped
When my chance came true
The ghosts of my life
They bring up memories
This was it, we had escaped to this perfect world that we had created. You and I had it all. Tropics, meadows, beauties that we of 4D space can only imagine. I gave you my heart and the world. But then...
"Luther, I think it's time we let them go. The beings of this world are starting to think for themselves."
I was stricken, hurt. This was our love, and you'd have me set it free?
"No, Blair, I will not let go." I held you tightly as we lay in a secluded field on Junea, a planet in the Harshnet galaxy. "Everything is fine here."
"But in my galaxy, the Milkyway, they don't need us anymore, Luther. It's time to move on."
"No, it's a bug. I'll fix it when we get back."
"But Luther, they've become alive, just you and-"
"Hush..." I pulled you closer as you tried to push away in protest.
"Luther, listen to me!" You glared me in the eyes. "We can't just delete them, they're ALIVE!"
"They can't be alive, Blair, they're only data, videogame characters!"
"Luther-!"
"Do not defy me, Blair, I am the Owner!"
From then on, she refused to call me by name. It was always 'Owner.'It hurt me, a lot. But as sad as I was, the hurt was replaced by a sort of anger. I made this world for her! She dare to reject it! To suggest just 'letting it go!'Letting our love go... With this... this communist equivalent in the 4D world, we could never be together without our 3D space.
Blair... I could never... just let it go...
No, Blair, I will not let go...
All my time, all my tears
"Let's create something grand!" All of this, for you
