Welcome back and all thought since it's nearly October so I decided to write a small thriller arc for this story enjoy!

1999 El Royale Hotel

It was boiling rain outside but it didn't matter as one of the few remaining guests of the hotel burst out of one of the rooms and dashed outside she held her briefcase to protect herself from the rain before feeling a heavy pain in her shoulder causing her to fall as the rain began burning her skin before being dragged back into the entrance as her nails were clawing the floor trying to hold on before being dragged inside as the door shut and the sign went from Open 24 Hours to Closed.

Present

Lilith slept in her office next to some papers as she woke up and stretched her arms before shoving the documents on the floor. "Oh for titan's sake!" She exclaimed while picking up the papers as an envelope slid under the door. Lilith carefully opened it and saw it was an invite and pamphlet to a hotel for free weekend admission along with one extra and a half coupon for a buffet which read El Royale casino and lodge in cursive fonts and pictured a sizeable wooden building as tall as a mansion with stained glass windows and inside multiple rooms with a large lobby, and gambling area.

She thought about it a bit before looking at her work schedule and exiting her office. "Who's not busy for the weekend!" She shouted to the only staff she had, the three rebels she met a few years ago.

At the Owl House, Eda, Camila, King, and Luz were sitting on the couch as the two women looked at their revenue before stopping. "Huh who knew human clothing is popular here?"

"Well, you did get some help," Camila said as Eda slightly blushed before Hooty leaned near them as the crystal ball they were watching flickered and began playing on an ad for a resort.

"Luxury beyond your wildest dreams? We already have that right here." Eda stated before her ears perked up when it mentioned a casino. "Kids, Cam pack your bags we're taking a vacation!"

"And how do you think we'll be able to afford that?" Camila asked before Eda pulled out a large bag of snails. "Nevermind."

Meanwhile, on the streets, Mateo and Ava walked around on patrol as they began a conversation. "So, I've heard that you've been busy for a while," Ava said as Mateo looked at her.

"Yeah, all day and not a single break but it'll be worth it when I can find a way back or arrest the owl lady either one will be satisfactory to me." He stated.

"Still your not seeing Philp that often and he's been having trouble lately," Ava told him with slight concern.

"Teens will always be reckless one way or another it happened to me and look where I am now!" That caused Ava to give a slight chuckle. They stopped at the market demanding that the owners show their licenses before stopping at a crystal ball store and looking at it.

"I thought you said no breaks?" Ava said with slight glee as Mateo laughed.

"Just this once, then we go back and..." They then bumped into a person who simply kept walking. "Watch it you..." He stopped and looked down at his feet seeing an envelope on the floor with a stamped sigil which he opened it. "Huh, an invitation to an exclusive place with no expiration date." Ava looked and saw similar envelopes on the floor which a few people picked up before they were swept up and thrown in the trash.

"So you're leaving for a vacation? Lucky." Davila said as she and Luz were talking during lunch period during school.

"Yeah, it was even paid in advance which was a bit weird but hey Eda isn't going say no to an offer like that right?"

Laughter came out from another table as Boscha cackled with a grin. "Really? Like you'd want to stay at a cursed place like that!" She stated.

"Cursed?" Luz said.

"Yeah." Boscha said as she sat down next to her. "So haunted that the guests barely notice until it's too late, let me tell you all about it."

Sorry if it's short
