(A/N: Before we begin with the main three stories in this omnibus that details Hiccup before the events of the first story that takes place, I feel it is necessary to separate the beginning and this prologue into their own chapters as this one tells of what happens before the events occur. So without further adieu, here we go and let us see the untold origins of how it starts. This is based off the beginning of God of War: Ascension for the PlayStation 3 so you'll know why he has similarly chained blade like weapons at his disposal, except the Vikings aren't all that fond of them; seeing them as a coward's weapon to fight at a distance instead of getting up close like a man would. Ignorant Hooligans...)

Hiccup, the hero that time will make him come to be, was finally defeated. He's been driven mad, beaten til blood tainted his taste and high confused but unsure about his surroundings; the young lad found himself locked up like a innocent Dragon that was caught in a web that's been weaved by the Hooligans, dripping from the fifth that came in the ass of the chief. He's been yanked back by chains, slammed up against a wooden pillar and in the worst case that's happened; the chains that held him had been tightening around his wrists like a brutal Indian burn inflicted to those who dare give thanks to the man called Christopher Columbus for his discovery, when in truth it was a hostile takeover of the west indies of the Caribbean across to the West that has reverted back into a land of illusion from the aftermath of the long, but still feeling like yesterday Ancient Times

Leading to the events of his imprisonment within the Great Hall of Berk and all subsequently unjustified torture was that everyone knew if their chief wasn't fighting his enemies, he was at home fighting with his son that fought back worse than the Thorston Twins; for this was an deep hatred between them forged in the foul fires of stubborness, igniting the chains into an serious bleeding rift caused by the sins of the father for the loss of the mother. The chief who calls himself Stoick the Vast ordered that his son be imprisoned, threatening with action into following up on a death threat he made in one of their most heated fights yet. No one knew what this death threat was, and everyone agreed that it was for the best that no one knows

Ordered by the Berk Council to teach the chief's son a lesson and all those who might think to proceed as plan with a terrorist like threat to the leader of this tribe, Astrid Hofferson carried onto the task at hand as she was their shieldmaiden and their future captain to their militia; a organized one called the Berk Guard. Being a warrior was not a job, it was a requirement and the guard is made up of unpaid volunteers along with those who are willing to be on a call of constant action and alert. Vigilant to the last man standing that can inform an approaching, a deadly and a unwelcomed threat to this small island. As with all lads like him, Hiccup may've once had a puppy crush on her at the age of three asking his mother if she was an angel; but he now he understands with great wisdom that she was the coldest of the teens toward him. He swore to himself that he would never love a girl like her again, only to his parent does he give his love; now she's gone and he never got to see her face one last time

Two weeks have went on with his thirteenth birthday on the rise on Feburary 29th according to his grandmother Cressida Cowell-Haddock who loved to tell stories to him, Hiccup started to shiver at the cold of the next morning that rose upon the Isle of Berk. His breath trembling under the arctic vapor clouds he released with his cluttering teeth, he's learned to deal with a cold morning like this for as long as he could keep his chest warm while his arms did the rest of the deed themselves. Something that he would be reminded in the future when he leaves this forsaken island that he will not live in anymore. From this day forward, he uttered under his breath about his future as the chief of the Hairy Hooligans Tribe:

"I will never... never again" He hated being the prince to this chiefdom, moreso than he hates his bullies

Hiccup heavily drew in his breaths brokenly, slowly waking up to find that he was inside of an political house within the Great Hall that's been converted into his imprisonment; all around him is darkness of the night and his movement was limited greatly. He's been given a harness meant for a dragon around his neck all the way to his muzzle, restraining his mobility; it's not just that either because he was forced to be kneeling down on both knees. Both of them had been spanned out like a eagle that was extending it's talons to claim the downed animal, his arms wrapped around; binding in a black, smoky and ashy shackle that went off across over to either side of the room. All while the harness was connected to the active, burning pyre base at the center

Some areas of his body has been smeared with black ashes from his burns, large scars ran on him from being slashed while bruises formed from his beatings; but most of all was blood of his own internal organs bathing him as some gashes were across him. This is no punishment, this was torture as if he was the oathbreaker being inflicted with great pain on the accounts of what he did to deserve this hell given to him by the Furies. The three women who are not Titan nor God, Mortal nor Shade as they're not bounded to anyone; the Gods of Olympus had little to fear from them as the three sought out retribution only for those whom is deemed as guilty. He was not one of them. The Furies were the guardians of honor, the enforcers of such brutal punishments and the bane of traitors like Grimbeard the Ghastly who brought down an entire kingdom in one rule here in the Archipelago; this kingdom was a legacy that he of all as runts like him didn't know about. A lost legacy that he would learn about in time once he left

His tunic was ripped, tattered to shreds as it opened up like a Hawaiian summer's shirt worn at Miami if the tropical storms are rare to come in that season; not even his vest was safe as it's now being used like a battleskirt kilt for the waist. His leggings have also been torn up in that his exposed wounds were bloodied as well. Hiccup reared himself back with his severely limited strength, giving out to his weakness and turning to one side which he tugged at; with a strained pull on the shackles trying to break them with raw strength all Vikings should have before turning to another side, doing much of the same there. All of this felt like death was too kind for the Hooligans to give him, all that and more he had to be treated like he broke a oath to the Gods; now he had to pay the price by the Furies to learn his lesson. It wasn't until a female voice broke the few hours of silence in the early morning where the sun didn't rise up just yet. "Good morning... Haddock"

Sluggishly as he heard his last name he looked around in the darkened room with the golden stabbed Grapple Grounder statue above him, grunting as he tugged the shackles again; trying to break them off along with his harness so he can run away from this village and never come back for being unfair to him. Only then did Astrid appear standing before him wearing rather protective armor in order to keep herself from burning in the active pyre base, she too have been covered in bruises with dried blood running down her chin as this is due to the result of Hiccup going rogue when being apprehended for threatening to go through with his threat to his own father of all people. Snotlout and the Thorston Twins, Ruffnut and Tuffnut had failed in their jobs to take him down. Fishlegs warned him about what they were planning, as such per consequence for this act of betrayal he was subsequently driven out of the village for an time; taking shelter in his old house as she wouldn't expect to find him there after moving to a newer one

Astrid's not one to join in the perks of bullying a runt, but she's rather angry at him for making a death threat to his own father that he actually threatened on following up on; now that was something she considered treasonous as her Fearless Uncle Finn destroyed the name of her Hofferson Clan in one night thanks to the Flightmare Attack incident that happened a decade ago on the night of Aurvandil's Fire. Northern Lights of these Vikings if one would will, since it makes sense for them to be experiencing a phenomenon like that which is beautiful if not for the glowing algae river running through the island that's since been blocked up. As to be expected this predictably does not make the Hofferson's Bane she calls it happy, and now it was here that she had her archenemy to kill on sight if it ever shows itself again; hasn't done so in ten years but it will show up again

She was disgusted at the way Hiccup refused to possess a fighting spirit everyone but him has but that's not all, it was worse with the way that he shamed his name and dishonored not just his father but his tribe as well. Now is the time to teach him some proper manners in this god damn tribe

"What's wrong?" Astrid shifted her axe that rested on her back and cracked her knuckles, she continued on talking to him. "You look confused, having trouble remembering why you're in here?" She asked before turning to and punching him hard across to his left, making him spit out some blood and then backhand bitch slapped him across to his right causing him to cough out some more blood again; staining even more of the darkened area before him

Hiccup remained despondent to her attacks on him, how much more can she take out of him that she hasn't taken away from him already? The shieldmaiden wasn't about to take more of his silence for another second, so she took him at the jaw against his will

"Then again, I was rudely interrupted from my training when I had to deal with your constant shaming of your family all because you get into heated bickerings with the chief! He's not one for kind manners..." She cursed at him before kicking him upward hard in the face, this released the neck harness that sent him flying backwards as far as where the pyre's edge had stood; breaking in the process as now he was leaning and breathing heavily again. Dazed but enraged because he had enough of this torture

Her kick had also sent him spitting blood that flooded his throat, staining the armor that kept her protected from the embers of the pyre base. "Not to worry, Haddock" She started just as Hiccup snarled with anger like a hissing wildcat, standing up fully with the shackles that were still wrapped around his bloodsoaked arms. "Unlike you, I was born to fight and I'm skilled at teaching... respect to your elders!"

She waited for a few seconds to throw him off course with a windmill punch that he dodged, following it up with her actual attack that was also dodged by him. "For what you've taken at the expense of abuse I don't condone, I owe you that; but I'm gonna take that back and throw it away instead just like how you threw away your chance to reconcile with the chief" Astrid taunted him

She then charged forward to kick him in the face to which Hiccup had then caught her in the chokehold that would set him free, wrapping the shackles around her body as he then put a boot on her stomach to use as leverage in order to tightly yank the chains hard; his birthmark glowing and giving out a pained grunt like scream as the attachment started to crack with the sound of a contraption starting to get jammed, breaking and shattering as a whole with him taking the shackle to his right hand revealing a chained sword designed by him to help with his fighting style of not fighting up close to his opponents. It was seen as a coward's way to fight not unlike the Vikings who get up real close to them, no he was supposed to swing the two of them around in order to attack or at least one at a time before he went for the heavy slams. Unknowingly to either of them or the Berk Council, Fishlegs secretly sabotaged them both in order to deliever justice to his friend and have him be armed with a weapon so that he can survive when he leaves

Taking out her axe seeing that he was armed, she deflected two of his light swipes as she got onto the offensive again but this time with her weapon out; forcing him to dodge toward the left before he took another round to swipe her two more times. With another swing in bound he dodged toward the right side before she came in to stun him with the face of her axe, that sent him flying backward when struck in the forehead but she was then kicked backwards so the two of them can keep their distance. He had a idea which involved swiping her again on the arms to the knees, faking a swipe toward her upperchest she was now on her guard and expected him to attack before she parried it against him

Narrowing his eyes he slammed his chained blade down on her axe with a heavy attack that left her temporarily stunned, giving him the time to start pulling tightly on the other shackle; causing the attachment to crack before breaking and shattering into pieces. "Your hatred to your dad means nothing, you will always be his son no matter what!" She screamed, this of course allowed him to slash across her body with the other chained blade; giving her a little bit of a large gash before rushing to kick her away from him

Now freed from his restraints, it was time to start making a run for it out of the Great Hall and to the doors but her axe was thrown near him as a warning throw to stop him from leaving to escape. "I will not have my shamed family name be ruined even worse by a runt!" Shouting at him as he jumped out of the way when she pounced forward to retrieve her axe

He swung his both his blades overhead one by one at Astrid in a downercut that he followed up with a horizontal cross-swipe of his blades which drew some blood from her body, just as she swung her axe upward with a springing leap in her step and then heavily swung it down to the ground with a slam; cutting his vest as it fell down to the floor. Taking this opportunity to swipe across her wrist with her cutting across his right pectoral muscle; inciting some pain judging from his grunt. However, he reared his arms in a coil before ducking down and leapt into the air to spin his blades in front of her; raising her axe to defend against the cyclone of blade swipes

The cyclone of spinning blades started to knock her blade off to the side and managed to cut some of her cheek, stopping when he fell to his knees as she then kneed him in the jaw and punched him to the floor. "I will not indulge you as Snotlout does to torment you" She told him off stating that she was different from him, but it mattered not to him as he came back up to his feet. Scraping his blades three times as if he was sharpening them as a taunt to her, refusing to speak a word because his mouth hurts when he talks

Astrid ran in with her axe drawn to her side, letting out a warrior's cry before she reared back but at the same time Hiccup drew his chained blades back with the chains extending out and all at once; the two respective weapons met with the latter wrapping around the axe itself as he disarmed her swiftly by throwing her weapon away. Just then out of nowhere, Tuffnut had come running in with a double ended spear to defend her and attack Hiccup; slashing against his skin with him flinging it up, down and toward the sides spinning it like a bo staff until he was disarmed

"Hey!" He yelled, having Astrid break his spear with her knee

"He's mine!" She told him, leaving her focus from Hiccup to throw Tuffnut out which gave him the advantage over her

Running at full speed he leapt into the air and drew his blades back, swinging both down and off to the sides as she was struck at the back; leaving two downward curved ended cuts which had her bleeding a little more than what she was before after getting cut across. Turning back with a vicious look on her face, Hiccup remained despondent but just as narrowed eye as he's been before. Giving out the same snarling grunt as he did before when the harness was flung off, broken off his neck and at last he slashed across the chest again; running back toward the Great Hall's doors

"You've caused me pain for the last time, Haddock!" She heaved in her breath, gripping onto her axe

Hiccup only elbowed her away, striking her nose bridge that started to bruise when she had came to throwing her axe near him again as a last resort. Turning back to see her limping and shouting at him with his uncaring expression made known to her

"You're not going anywhere, Toothpick!" Clutching her body from the bloody wound she was given to her, she cursed him again with a insult towards him being a runt; breathing heavily until she collapsed to her knees and coughed up a little blood from her mouth. "Somebody, I need Gothi... I need help- please?" She knew begging is cowardly, but she's really in need of some help with the way that she was wounded here. "Anyone... help me" Losing all sense of her consciousness, she fell to the floor

Hiccup didn't care about her on the verge of death and proceeded to run out of the Great Hall in the morning daylight with no one in sight, heading down to the docks as he came back into the forge first and took all of the smithing tools he needed with him; jumping into a boat and departing. He was running away to another part of Berk due to him not having anywhere else to go so that he's not harrassed by either hostile dragons or angry Hooligan Vikings that were coming after him

Eventually, he did find himself a nice sea cave to hide out in as he'd rather not expose where he usually goes in times of stress like this. He headed inside to start his temporary living here for himself, the chain swords that are being taken off by him had a unique shape to them and the handles themselves were supposed to represent a bead and wired knotwork version of a Greek Mythology beast called an Amphisbaena with the actual blades being more like desert wanderer scimitars from the Middle East. He looked at them both and he's going to bury the both of them for a little keepsake treasure for the future, in actuality he wanted to destroy the pair of blades in fact; he hated wielding these ungodly things for the fact that he's used them to hurt Astrid. However, he was forced to wrap them back on around his arms when he heard the sound of armed Hooligans searching for him

He leapt out of hiding in the sea cave to confront of the Vikings before them, drawn with the snarling expression on his face that lusts for blood after being tortured because he shouted a death threat to his father that he'll follow on. Threatening to kill them if they're not backing the hell off from him and if they come any closer near his wounded self, like a savage animal that was driven to starvation; having lost his way in this entire moment of living another day here on this island. He was coming this close to running away from his tribe for good, and it's especially now that they're ready to take him head on and seemingly have him locked back up for good. Drawing their weapons and raised to attack on command, it wasn't until Gobber started coming through the crowd to approach Hiccup slowly

Tensing up when he approached him, Hiccup turned away and backed off with a leap away to stop him from touching his wounded body; believing himself to be a monster with the way in that he behaved. Gobber kept pressing onward with him, as he retreated into the sea cave to hide himself from him; throwing his chained blades down to the ground, not wanting to ever again use them. After that he held him onto him, trying his best to calm him down

"I'm not gonna let them hurt you, I'm not gonna hurt you; not unlike the Hofferson girl that you did a number on. I don't wanna share her fate" Gobber told him, making things worse by mentioning what he did to her

"You know I'd never hurt you" He spoke in a gravelly voice as he held onto him tightly, being carried by out of the sea cave of the shores

The following events here are as it follows, with Hiccup being brought before the Council on the act of his treachery:

Punishment for beating up and leaving their shieldmaiden Astrid Hofferson to be wounded on the brink of death, as well as not submitting to her merciful chances which are anything but merciful as she tried to hurt him back is... well a majority of women in the tribe wanted death because they believed Hiccup was misogynistic; in a simpler term, he hated women in general judging the way he left their fiercest shieldmaiden on the brink of death. Majority of the rest of the tribe wanted exile as the women's demand was countered by the fact that he loved his mother, having no evidence of his misogyny prior to hurting her. Stoick refused the demands of the majority of the tribe as well because exile's not what Valka would want, but that doesn't mean he has to vouch for his son's innocence because he did all that maliciously

Locking him up in the Great Hall proven to him that Hiccup learned nothing about stopping his shameful, dishonorable actions toward his tribe about staying the hell out of their way and to keep himself inside during the raids while also not interfering with their captures. Hiccup had been silent for the entire time with his arms crossed, head down and refusing to look up with him angrily taking in the words only to spit them back at the offenders who talked low of him before he stood up from his seat. He doesn't want his son to be exiled but neither is he going to let him be locked back up for another week, he can atone for doing these things instead so there's that. He sentenced him to commit into a pledge that he would serve as the Champion of Berk against the evils of the Archipelago that need their aid, serving the council and so that should he succeed; in return he was to not to be rewarded as the only one he'll get for all the various deeds and services is nothing

Hiccup argued with his father that he had no qualms about enslaving him, the chief declined the insult as he said so otherwise for the fact that their enemies the Lava-Lout Tribe were the ones who enslave others; he hated that and it's them that gets all the hard labor while he's a son of his that gets to perform tasks. He also issued a direct threat that if he again complained about being treated like a prisoner to them, he'll be locked up in his room until further notice and he is not to leave the house unguarded while he is out for the time being. Hiccup was the least to say infuriated that he would have to be doing tasks to earn his freedom

"You can't treat me like I'm a prisoner to this tribe!"

"I'll tell you what Ms. Hofferson can't do: get some well earned sleep without succumbing to her bloodlust against you, but you know what I can do? Follow up on the amount of tasks that account to your thirteenth birthday, that's what! This is not your choice to serve the council, it is your punishment for leaving her on the verge of death"

Thus, we begin the day in the life of Hiccup as the Pride of Berk or as the Hooligans called him; their so-called "Champion of Berk"
