A/N: I took the final prompt incredibly literally to fit them all in. Enjoy!
December 7: "Watson is a saint" (from sirensbane)
December 13: "The perfect gift" (from mrspencil)
December 19: "Holmes and Watson's friendship has always stood the test of time, but there is only so much either man can take" (from W. Y. Traveller)
December 25: "What do Holmes and Watson do for Christmas?" (from trustingHim17)
December 31: "Old friends bump into each other" (from mrspencil)
"Now, Holmes," said Watson, a grin spreading across his face as he removed a small parcel from his pocket, "the time has come!"
"Really, Watson, I don't see why you couldn't put your gift for me under the tree," Holmes replied, lounging on the settee and munching a biscuit.
"Every year it's the same," Watson replied. "You pick up the package when I'm not looking, and deduce what I've given you. It spoils the surprise."
"I have enough self control to leave your gift alone, if you asked me to," Holmes retorted.
Mrs. Hudson entered with another tray of biscuits. "Would you two like a few more?"
"Yes please," Holmes replied, and she set the tray on the table.
"How many is that, old fellow?" asked Watson with a smirk as they both stood to grab more treats. "And what was that again about how you have so much self control?"
They heard Mrs. Hudson chuckle as she retreated down the stairs.
"Oh, hush," Holmes replied, elbowing his friend. Watson shoved back, and Holmes shoved back harder. They both laughed.
"How could you?" said Watson in mock dismay. "Shoving about an old injured war veteran. Our friendship has always stood the test of time, old fellow, but there's only so much I can take."
"Oh hush up and eat your biscuits, old man," Holmes replied as they sat back down, both grinning from ear to ear.
"Here, you open yours first," said Watson, handing the parcel to Holmes, who unwrapped it eagerly.
"Oh! A new magnifying glass," he said. "Ah! And the handle. You've had it engraved."
Watson beamed.
"For my dearest friend. –JW." Holmes read aloud, smiling back at his friend. "Watson, you're a saint."
"Merry Christmas, my dear fellow."
"Merry Christmas, old boy."
A/N: And there you have it! It may have been in an usual way, but I finished last year's challenge. Huzzah!
