"Aw come on Bruce. This is so unfair." Jason whined. Not only was he grounded on a rare school-night patrol now he had to babysit his little brothers? "You're always saying I'm irresponsible. Why can't Babs or Dickhead do it?"

"Dick and Barbara are on a date," Bruce told his son as he restocked his utility belt. "And before you ask, Alfred is taking a well-deserved night off." Jason groaned as his Father pulled on his cowl.

"Think of this as a chance to prove yourself." Bruce grinned facetiously. "I want Damian in bed by 10, Tim by 10:30, and you by 11 young man." "Got it old man." Jason smirked as Batman drove off.

Jason lay on his bed, shooting nerf gun bullets at the ceiling. This blew. He was so desperate for something to do he was just about ready to ask his brothers to play with him when he felt something buzz beside him. His phone. Someone calling him.

"What?" He groaned as he answered. "Yo, Dude, you coming or what?" A half-stoned voice asked. Jason grinned on the other side of the line. He'd forgotten about the no-holds-bar party some senior was throwing tonight.

It was going to be all anyone would be talking about in school tomorrow, and if Jason cared about his social standing, which he did, he had to go to this party. It would be easy. Out the window, borrow Dick's motorcycle, be the life of the party and be home before Bruce.

Just as he was about to tell his buddy to save him a pretty girl when his bedroom door burst open. "Jason, we're bored." Tim whined as he and Damian climbed upon his bed. Danmit, he'd forgotten about his brothers.

"Looks like someone's stuck babysitting." The voice on the other side of the phone laughed. "Shut up. I'll be there." Jason snapped and hung up. "How exactly do you plan to sneak off to whatever nonsensical event when Father has you watching us?" Damian asked smugly.

"Look, you guys will get it when you're in high school, but this is a big deal." Jason explained as he got up and started rummaging through his closet for an outfit. "Bruce is gonna kill you." Tim warned. Jason ran a hand through his hair.

If Bruce came back and found the two youngest boys home alone, he would grill them for answers. Tim might play dumb, but The Little Demond would be a willing tattle tale. There was only one real way to ensure neither of them squealed.

"Go get your coats and shoes." Jason ordered.

Damian gripped the drive long about how they were going to get caught and how he refused to take any of the blame when their Father interrogated them. The party was in full swing as Jason parked Bruce's Porsche around the corner from the house.

It was really a typical party. Loud music, flashing lights. Some people were dancing, some were talking over the noise, and everyone was drunk, high, or both. "Sit here and don't move," Jason told his brothers as he sat them down in a quiet-ish corner of the main room.

"I just need to make sure people see me here, then we can leave. Don't talk to anyone, and don't eat or drink anything unless I give it to you." With those words, Jason disappeared into the chaos.

The two younger boys didn't really expect anything to happen. It wasn't as if they knew anyone here other than their irresponsible brother. They passed the time people watching and speculating what kind of trouble the various guests would be in/ get into before the night was over.

"Hey, look at duh little guys." A buff blonde slurred as he staggered over to their corner. "Are chu lil elves real or a I just wasted?" The boys wrinkled their noses. They could smell the alcohol on his breath and clothes from where they sat.

"Hey lets p-hay a gahm. I'll give chu one hundred dollars if chu can out drink me." The drunk kid laughed as he shoved a red plastic cup at them. "Whaddya say?"

"We have no interest in your drunken frivolities." Damian huffed. "Come on little elves, it'll bay fun." The boy insisted. "We said no." Tim told him forcefully. As the words left his mouth, Tim accidentally knocked the cup out of the older boy's hand, causing the drink to splash in his face and down the front of his shirt.

"You're gonna pay foh dah' ya little runt." The blonde sneered, grabbing the front of their shirts. Before the boys could even try to break free, a shrill voice called over the noise. "What are you doing Jacob?" A scantly clad girl asked as she came over.

"These brats need ta learns something." He slurred. "You leave these little boys alone." The girl ordered, shoving him away. In his inebriated state, Jacob staggered backward and away from her little bit of force and wandered off, probably in search of more booze.

"You poor babies." The girl cooed. "Did he scare you?" Tim and Damian were far from scared, but before Damian could rudely tell her so, Jason came running back over. "I thought I told you guys not to talk to anyone." He only slightly scolded.

If they had to break his rules, Jason was glad it gave him a chance to talk to Missy Cove. He should have thought to use his brothers as chic bate years ago. "Do you really bring grade school kids to a party?" Missy asked, rolling her eyes.

"Of course not." Jason laughed nervously. "I had to do a thing for a buddy, and they begged to come with me cause they just love their big brother." Jason grinned as he wrapped an arm around Tim and Damian and squeezed. A sign for them to play along or suffer.

The younger boys nodded compliantly. Jason totally owed them for this.

Somehow Missy bought Jason's whole dotting big brother routine, and the two started talking. It was getting late now. Just as Tim was about to warn Jason that Bruce would be getting home soon, Jacob the drunk sauntered back over with some equally muscled and wasted buddies in toe.

"See? I told chu there were girl stealing elves." He babbled, and his cronies all gave grunts of solidarity. Missy rolled her eyes at them before turning back to Jason. "This is what I was talking about." She told him. "We broke up. Why can't he get it through his thick skull?"

"Come on babe let's go op stairs and I can show chu how much I miss chu." Jacob croaned. Missy turned away, but the tipsy jock was not ready to take no for an answer. He reached out to grab the girl's arm, but Jason stepped between them.

"I think you need to get lost." He growled, and the posse of drunk boys laughed. "Says chu and wha army?" Jacob taunted. In a flash, Jason had pulled a gun from where it had been hidden in his waistband and fired it at the ceiling.

The whole party erupted into a frenzied panic, and people started running in all different directions. Jason grabbed Tim and Damian and was in the process of dragging them back to the car when the police arrived. The officers rounded up as many of the underaged drinkers as they could, and somehow Jason got caught up in their wake.

Bruce nearly had a heart attack when he got home and found his sons' beds empty. He had a full-on conniption when he received a phone call from the Gotham police department saying they had his second-oldest son in custody for his involvement in a raging house party.

Dick was sent to pick his brothers up from the police station seeing as Bruce could barely see straight from rage at the moment. As soon as they got home, Jason was perp-walked into his Father's office.

"Let me see if I've got this straight." Bruce started as he paced back and forth behind his desk. "You sneak out of the house, on a school night, when you're grounded, take your brothers in my car, to a party where you proceed to pull a gun on someone and get yourself arrested."

He stopped pacing for a second to look his son in the eyes. "In the interest of fairness, what do you have to say for yourself?"

"I love you Daddy?" Jason smiled cheekily. Before Bruce could give Alfred a reason to wash his mouth out with soap, Damian and Tim burst through doors. "It wasn't all Jay's fault Bruce." Tim blurted. "I begged him to take me to the party."

Bruce sank into his chair and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I heard that this jerk from school was going to be there, and I wanted to give him a piece of my mind since I couldn't get in trouble like I would in school. Jay tried to talk me out of it, but I wore him down."

"And Todd could hardly lave me unsupervised per your instructions." Damian added. "As for the gun, Todd merely fired a warning shot for the neanderthal who tried to assault us."

Bruce squeezed his eyes shut as he told the two younger boys to head up to bed. "You know I don't believe a word of that, right?" Bruce asked, and Jason nodded solemnly.

He was grounded until further notice, and while it did suck that he would probably never see the light of day again, Jason did have to smile at the fact that he would probably never be trusted to babysit anymore either.
