"Are you excited to see a movie set?" Sue asked the kids as she helped them bring their suitcases down the stairs. It was time for their planned trip to California; Howie's movie was almost finished and they were planning on visiting the set on the last week of filming, bringing along two surprises.

"Yeah!" They exclaimed.

"Are you sure you have everything? Remember, this isn't like Lucy's. If you forget something, there's not going to be a backup!" She asked.

Mellody nodded. "I made sure we had everything on your list."

Sue smiled. "Then it looks like we're ready. California, here we come!"

"Yay!" The kids exclaimed as they set off to the car.

?-?

"I wish we could've brought Sunny and Barky with us like we were originally planning." Sue quietly said to Jack. They were sitting at the airport, waiting for their plane to arrive, the kids playing a few inches nearby with some traveling toys.

"You know we decided once the kids came we'd leave them with your Mom. Two dogs and two kids in an unknown city would be ludicrous and you know it." Jack replied quietly, signing a few words. The kids were learning some sign, so they had to be careful what was signed around them now. It was actually all due to Sue; now that she was teaching the kids, she ensured they had a bit of Sign Language class every day. Even though Sue was really teaching Mellody, Chris liked to watch, so he also was getting pretty good.

She nodded. "I know. I just feel we've been paying too much time to the kids and not enough to the dogs."

"But isn't that supposed to be? Humans come first?"

"Well, yes, but Sunny is my hearing dog. I've basically been relying on her for her job and nothing less."

He smiled at his wife. "I think she forgives you."

Sue smiled as well. "I'm sure you're right."

Just then, an announcement announced that their flight was ready for boarding. After interpreting for his wife, he collected his kids and their belongings, then the family got in line, more than ready for their California adventure.

?-?

"Wow!" Mellody and Chris exclaimed in unison as they exited the plane in California.

"Do you think we can go visit Mickey Mouse?" Mellody excitedly asked as she ran to the window to see if she could see the park from there. All she saw was planes. Disappointed, she walked back to her family.

Jack chuckled, then interpreted for his wife since the girl was not facing her. "Maybe. We'll see." He replied, signing as well.

"Come on, our friend should be waiting for us." Sue said, herding her family towards the twisty, turny route to the baggage claim. Once they arrived, they found their suitcases coming out on the conveyor belt. "Everyone ready?" She asked once everyone grabbed their things. When everyone nodded, she turned to the exit doors. "California, here we are!"

Carla stood in the living room, just staring at the furniture.

"What's wrong?" Bob worriedly asked, seeing his fiancé with tears in her eyes.

She quickly shook her head. "Nothing. It's just that today, well, today I am putting this house up for sale."

"Is that it?" He asked, his worry dissipating into a smile.

"Is that all?!"She complained, her look of sadness turning into that of anger. "This house has so many memories, so many times over the past two years that have been special."

"But didn't your house in Ohio have the same memories, if not more? You got rid of that one pretty easily."

"I actually still own it, thank you very much." She replied.

Bob raised his eyebrows. "You still own your Ohio home? Why?"

"Because it's special. I'll never be able to get rid of it. It took a lot of prodding from Sue to convince me to let people rent it, which people are currently."

"Wow, I didn't know that. You're really sentimental, aren't you?"

She silently nodded. "Do you want to join me at the realtors?"

He smiled. "Of course." With that, they left to start the process of leaving a piece behind in DC.
