TRIVIA: What is at the corner Howie calls out? (clue: check out a map!)
?-?
"So, are you all ready for an exciting day?" Howie asked when he saw the Hudsons walk towards the front door, where he still was since he left the church, but now off the phone.
"Yes, we are!" Jack excitedly exclaimed.
"Great! Let's go!" He announced, leading them to the limo.
Howie was the perfect tour guide, showing the different sights, but soon the kids got antsy.
"Howie, can we do something that maybe the kids would like?" Sue asked at a break point in his near constant chatter.
"Uh, sure." He replied, the request stopping him in his tracks. "What do you guys want to do?"
"See Mickey Mouse!" The kids exclaimed in unison.
"Uh, I think it's a bit late for that. How about another day?" Jack suggested.
"Oh, yeah! You want a whole day. And I mean a whole day. 5AM to 11PM. It's already after 2. You won't get a good feel of the park." He replied, then mischievously smiled. "But I have something just as good. Buena Vista Street and Alameda Avenue, please!" He called to Hector.
?-?
"Huh!" Carla exclaimed, her eyes solely focused on her phone.
"What is it?" Bob distractedly asked as he was kneeling on the floor, setting up the movie they were about to watch. "Sunny, back! You can't help me with this!" He complained at the dog, who just wanted to see what he was doing.
"Someone already wants to see the house." She answered.
"What, already?" He asked, still distracted, but now standing a foot away with the remote.
She nodded, still fixated on the phone. "They want to come tomorrow afternoon."
"That's good, right? I mean, we're getting married in less than a month. You really can't close on a house from miles away and I know you don't want to put the burden on Sue." He replied, now focused on his fiancé since the DVD was playing the main menu.
"Yes, I suppose it is, but," her voice trailed off, looking around the living room.
"It's hard to let go." He summarized.
She nodded, tears forming in her eyes.
He sighed, then took her into his arms. "It's going to be OK. You'll see. We're going to make a new, amazing life in Arizona."
"I know. I keep on telling that to myself. I want to be with you in Arizona, but it's so hard to let go."
"I can show you how you can let go." He replied, letting go of her.
"How?" She asked, intently looking at him.
Close your eyes," Bob started, following his rules as an example. "Take a deep breath, trust God and just let go." He said, holding out his closed fists then released them into an open position.
She slightly smiled. "You make it sound so easy."
"It is pretty easy, if you just let go. It's the work preceding it that is the problem."
She slightly chuckled. "Distract me. What are we watching?"
Tada!" He happily exclaimed, his hands pointing towards the TV.
She laughed. "Not again!"
"Yes again. Let's watch!" Bob exclaimed, sitting down on the couch and patting the seat next to him.
Still laughing, Carla complied and enjoyed the time next to her fiancé.
?-?
Sunday came to a close sooner than anyone had imagined and soon they found themselves being dropped off at their hotel.
"Remember, 7AM we'll be here to pick you up to go to the movie set tomorrow!" Howie called as Hector drove away.
Sue sighed. "It's a good thing 7AM is 10AM to our brains. I'm exhausted, and most of the day we just sat in the car!"
Jack chuckled as they led the kids to the elevator. "Me too. But it was fun!"
She nodded as they got on. "Yes, it was. How did you guys like it?" She asked the kids.
"Fun, sorta. I would've liked Disneyland better."
"I know, but I'll make you a promise; most likely we won't be able to go on this trip. But the next time we're in California, we'll go. How's that?"
"Yay!" The kids happily exclaimed, skipping the rest of the way to their hotel room.
?-?
Sue yawned as they stood outside and waited for Howie early the next morning. It took a while to get the kids to bed, so it felt like she just went to bed the moment Jack shook her awake at 5:30 AKA 8:30. "He did say 7, right?" she asked, lookinh at her husband.
Jack nodded. "He's probably running late. It is only 7:03, you know." He said, holding up his phone.
"Hmm. My watch says 7:08." She replied, looking at it.
"Here he is!" Jack announced when he saw the now familiar limo pull into the hotel parking lot.
"You guys ready to see a movie set?" Howie asked as he opened the door.
"Yeah!" everyone exclaimed, then piled into the limo. Once settled, they were off to see movie magic being made!
