I have suddenly become the owner of Destiny 1 and Rising of the Shield Hero, I won them in a poker match with Quasimodo, a Dalmatian with a limp and Willy the killer whale (orca) and the match was overseen by Smurfett who I bribed before hand.
Okay you got me, I still don't own Destiny or The Rising of the Shield Hero
Story start
After they left a grateful Raze and the capital behind I used the transport ability from my Cardinal Shield to take them as close as I could to their destination, which would still take them half a day to get to. But that was fine as I had detour I wanted to make. As we travelled, myself and Ar'na rodenon our sparrows with me using it's auto-pilot to follow her whilebRaph and Ino where on Filo. Casper and I worked on something on something we'd been busy with when I wasn't in talks with the Queen or nobles. After examining the replica weapon we'd quickly concluded that it wasn't supposed to be a one-off weapon but more of a prototype. One that would allow every soldier slash adventurer to wield a pale imitation of the cardinal weapons with the spear also acting as a magical staff. For whatever reason that didn't happen, maybe the inventor died, maybe the blue prints were lost or it needed cardinal weapons to be present during the forging process.
Either way it didn't matter, I was able to modify it to have more forms and make it stronger but it would never be on the level of the cardinal weapons. After more examinations I also found out how to forge more copies of the replica weapon, the con being that even if I spent a month doing nothing else I would only be able to produce a handful of useful weapons, any faster and the weapons produced wouldn't be any better than those from a standard blacksmith, abet with the cool ability to change form. Which would be useful, but not useful enough to make a large difference.
But in order for this to happen I had to sacrifice my remaining cores and prisms in order for my shield to replicate the energy and abilities they naturally had. Once that was done I forged a replica enhancement core using a spare gemstone as a vessel to hold it's power and applied it to a small knife that I had handy, as expected it increased its stats, not as much as I wanted but I hoped that when applied to a more impressive when the difference would be more noticeable. However I needed a more suitable vessel to hold the energy. While gemstones could be used I would have to provide a constant supply which would be hard to do, especially when I wanted to supply a large number or replica cores. Another idea would be forging rings to hold the energy but this would also be a drain on resources as I imagine there would be a number of people who would keep them as a souvenir, good luck charm or think that it still held some power when it didn't. The solution came in the form of something most unexpected, the ink originally used for the slave crests. It could hold and channel magic which was perfect for what I needed it for, and thanks to slavery now being illegal there was a surplus of it that I could get for cheap...which I did.
The only step remaining was creating or more accurately in this case drawing a seal onto some paper as a prototype and then using that to create a template to produce them en mass much like a printing press. Unfortunately, this step was causing me the most problems, sure I could just hand everyone vials of liquid replica cores but simply pouring the liquid over whatever weapon they wished to improve would lead to a large amount of it going to waste. However if it took the form of a program or 'seal' drawn on some paper or parchment then there would be little to no waste and the vials would only be used for projectal weapons such arrows or bullets. And that's what Casper and me were busy working on, that program.
"Hey Callum, I know we're in a hurry but I was wondering if we could make a quick stop?" asked Raph suddenly
"Sure, but it will have to after we've been to your village." I remark, having an idea on what she was going to ask
"You mean we're already heading there?" asked Raph
"Of course, I knew how important it would be for you to see the village and your friends again, especially since its been so long." I replied
For the rest of the trip Raph was a mix of happy and sad nostalgia. Happy that she was finally able to see her home again after so long but sad at the same time due because the last time she was their she lost both her parents and was sold as a slave shortly after.
Raphtalia's village
When we arrived at the village Raph was quick to notice the construction work as well as the larger than she expected number of people living there, most were demi-human but some were not.
"Why are there..." started Raph only to be interrupted by a shout, or two to be precise overlapping each other
"RAPHTALIA!"
"Rifana? Keel!" replied Raph happily as they each ran towards each other to give the other a hug "Your looking so much better!"
And indeed they were, the last time we saw Rifana she was sickly and near death, now her skin had a healthy and even warm glow to it, almost like there were flames just underneath the skin...which due to what she now was wasn't too far off. Keel on the other hand was still pale but other than he was looking good. Their marks both mental and physical from their slavery were already beginning to fade.
"Its good to see you too Raphatlia, we weren't sure when we'd get to see you. You know with you being so busy being in the shield heroes party, dealing with monsters left and right." lightly teased Keel
"Don't be mean Keel!" whispered Rifana
"Its okay he's right it has been hard to time for friends with how busy I've been but I promise I will visit more often. Speaking of which, who are these people? I recognise some of them as people who lived here previously but everyone else?" asked Raph
"Huh? You mean you don't know?" asked Rifana in confusion
"Know what?" Asked Raph
"I was going to keep it a surprise, but I guess that's not going to happen." I said speaking up
"Oh, sorry." said an embarrassed Rifana
"Its okay."
"What surprise? What is everyone talking about?"
"Allow me the first to tell you." said Reichnott suddenly as he approaches the group "For their past deeds as well as the circumstances surrounding the destruction of this village her majesty the Queen has gifted them this village and it's surrounding territories to rule as they deem fit. With Lady Raphtalia having the most control over the decisions surrounding the village."
"L-lady? R-rule?" squeaked Raph "I can't be responsible for an entire village, surely Callum or An'ra would be more suitable."
"We both thought it would be more suitable if someone who lived here previously ran it." explained Ar'na
"And we thought it should be you, you started to rally the survivors after the first wave and were able to keep our spirits up." agreed Keel
"G-guys." stuttered an overwhelmed Raphatlia
"You won't have to do everything yourself though, we'll be helping you the entire way. Reichnott will also be here to get things up and running while acting as and advisor while he runs his own territory. He will also train various individuals how to run things while your away." I said
At this Raph gains a sad demeanor "Your planning on leaving me aren't you? Otherwise it should be you as the main ruler."
"You're not getting rid of me that easy. Besides even if I'm in my world and you are here with the beacons I've made we'll be able to travel from world to world whenever we want."
"Really?" asked Raph
"Really." I replied
"Thank you." said Raph with a smile before losing it "Now before we do anything I want to go visit my parents grave."
"Do you want us to come with you?" ask gently
"Actually...I'd like to do this on my own." relpied Raph
At a cliffside overlooking the ocean
"Hey mum, hey dad. Sorry I didn't visit sooner but I've busy being in a party and fighting off the waves, but I'm sure you already knew that." said Raph awkwardly, taking a moment to collect her thoughts she continues "I've also found the man I want to marry, you'd like him, he's the Shield Hero and he's even better than in the stories you read to me. He's kind, nurturing, strong, handsome and you should see him with his daughter Filo. H-he's perfect, the only problem is that he doesn't feel the same way about me, and I know it may sound selfish but I'm going to do everything I can to change that. I want him to be with me always, I want us to have a life together after the waves, either here or in his home world. But he says we'd be able to visit so don't worry about me not coming to see you."
Elsewhere
While Raph visited her parents graves I wandered around the ruins of the homes of the people who used to live there. Sure the houses could have been torn down or repaired, and eventually they would be but I would prefer that choice be made by any survivors of that house hold if there were any. So I felt it was best to leave them as they were, at least for now. Last thing I wanted was to be that insensitive asshole who gave away someone's house after they suffered a tragedy. People also need time to cope with the past and if I had everything wiped out and swept under the proverbial rug it could negative consequences. No, the ruins will remain so they could morn what they have lost while they build their future. Besides it wasn't like there enough enough land to use.
"Hey you!" shouts out a voice suddenly
Turning around I saw two adventurers walking towards me. One with a scythe and high grade armour the other looked like she could be a mage but instead of a staff I noted various gemstones upon her person as jewellery, she likely used them as a focus instead.
"Is this your home?" he asked
"No it isn't." I answered
"Its awful isn't it? A bunch of ruins and a handful of people trying to get back what they lost." said the man sadly "I bet you lost your home as well."
"Loosing your home and loosing everything are completely different. Just because you lost something doesn't mean you won't find something else along the way." I relpy
"Huh, I guess your right."
"L'Arc we really should get going." interrupted the mage
"Your right, see you around man and keep safe." said the man before walking off. Before he got to far I heard him mutter "we have to win."
'Callum did you feel that energy?' asked Capser
'Yeah, it's faint but they both have traces of wave energy on them, much like that Glass woman. Which means these two are likely from another world...only question is why?'
OMAKE Filo does it again
Elven king talking to Thorin
"I know what dragon fire is like." said the king, showing his scarred face
"Dragons?" shot up a voice, turning around the king and thorin saw filo "Why are you talking about dragons?! They're just stupid meany heads." said Filo angrily
"Filo...how are you?" asked Thorin carefully "Have you been well?"
"Oh yeah! I've been playing with Leggy and sometimes Reddy...hey why don't you play with me too! We can all have fun together!" exclaimed Filo excitedly
"I'm sorry but I'm quite busy." said Thorin...not willing to tell the innocent girl that he and his family were prisoners in a dungeon while she played in the gardens
"Oh...okay" said Filo sadly before immediately cheering up "Hey did you know Leggy-kun likes Reddy-chan? Maybe they'll get together and make babies and I can play with the babies!"
"...actually they won't be having children." said the king looking very uncomfortable after he hid his face under an illusion once more
"But why? They would make such pretty babies?!" asked Filo confused before a look of understanding crossed her face "Ohhhh...unless Leggy-kun likes boys and Reddy-chan likes girls! Daddy told me that sometimes boys like boys and girls like girls and that I should treat them both the same!" beamed Filo
"A-and that is?" asked the king struggling to keep it together
"That if they should ever touch me in-appro-priat-elly said Filo, spelling out the word "I should kick them in the crotch as hard as I can! Before calling out for either my daddy or that there's a molester before repeating until someone arrives or they can't move any more!" said Filo innocently, which made her threat of bodily harm even more morbid
Before the conversation could continue Legolas and Tauriel entered the room, before they could say anything Filo ran over and asked them
"Why didn't you tell me you both like your own genders?" asked Filo "You shouldn't hide how you really feel!" said Filo sternly before turning cheerful again "Let's go and find boyfriends and girlfriends for you both!"
A cheerful Filo then lead away a mortified (and confused) Legolas and Tauriel
Escape
"What are you doing?" asked a voice suddenly
Looking up with his hand still on the lever Kili was surprised to see Filo standing before him as if the chaos all around them wasn't happening.
Before he could voice his concerns an arrow collided with her back sending her stumbling into Kili's arms
"Filo!" quickly pulling the lever Kili jumped into one of the empty barrels with Filo in his arms
After an eventful river float Kili was quick to pull Filo from the barrel and started looking her over
"Hey!"
"Kili, what are you doing?!" asked Thorin
"Filo got hit." answered Kili much to the worry of everyone and they all spent the next few moments examining Filo head to toe
"...there's no wound? But I could have sworn I saw her get hit?" asked Kili confused only to be distracted by the sound of a pebble bouncing along the ground.
Looking to their left they saw a man looking intimidating down at them, with a bow fully drawn.
"Step...away...from the girl." said the stranger slowly and menacingly
