Chapter 29

To Reach the Finish Line

It was just after dawn when the Arcadia had Nublar in its sights. The sunbathing over the land with an orange glow as the sea sparkled around it. In the sky, with just some puffs of clouds, several Pteranodons glided in circles around the boat with the ocean breeze letting them just ride alongside.

Standing on top of the bridge, with the wind in her face Rexy inhaled deeply. Closing her eyes as she smelled both salt and familiar scents as the winds blew over her island to them. When she opened them again, she couldn't help but smile at the appearance of her home. For nearly 3 decades all she had seen was the green of the forest, fields, mountains, and valleys with waterfalls and rivers. But to see it all from this distance with the sun shining down upon it made her briefly smile. Though the resort was still in a shambled state it has been, that was easily overlooked by how it stood with nature combing with what was originally their oppression turned sanctuary.

A disturbance above made her turn her attention to a pteranodon coming straight for her. It gave a few flaps of its wings to slow its descent while she took a few steps back to give space as Tracks landing with a 'thunk' against the metal.

"Well?" She asked questioningly.

Tracks nodded in what she meant, "They are already gathering the humans by the lagoon docks near the gate. They say they should have them all there by the time we get there."

Rexy nodded approvingly. So far since this crazy plan started they had been keeping the humans aboard under tight watch with the key ready for the lock. There was a few situations where there was almost blood. Some of the stronger men thinking they could overwhelm one of them and get a weapon. But they all soon forgot who was really the strongest that also had much sharper teeth, claws, hid and punch. The worse so far was someone is now one middle finger short on their person.

Moore, on the other hand, was adamant about having to basically take orders from a dinosaur. Already thinking about all the ways he planned to retire after this and how to put in his resignation. He was one of the few people still able to move about with 'some' freedom, other than the helmsmen, doctors, and caretakers. They were stuck between the bridge, their quarters and the main cargo bay. A few were allowed in the radio room to send the message to their destination in the states, but after that was all said and done the place was one of the many held under guard.

Standing on the bridge with his helmsmen, a stegosaur with a rifle, and the hybrid that seemed to watch every move they made, Moore watched as they got closer and closer to the island as the pteranodons guided them to their landing point.

It was roughly another hour before the ship was turned around and slowly backing itself towards the loading docks connected to the lagoon. All lined up with several dinosaurs either acting as a living wall or with weapons stood at the ready watching as the ship tied up and lowered its rear ramp.

Near the head of the group still mostly stripped down to his basic clothes like everyone else, Coriss watched as the ramp descended with the hope in his mind that in one way or another that this was either a dream or there would be an army charging out of that gate. When he saw more of the anthro-dinos, his hopes for the latter vanished and the former felt like it was becoming more like a drug-induced nightmare.

When he saw the T-Rex appear from the cargo hold flanked by the triceratops he wanted to spit out in anger what the hell they did to get the ship. But when he saw Moore accompanying them, he truthfully lost his shit.

"Major Moore! What the hell is going on!?"

"Its a bit... complicated, sir." Moore said with a downed look in his eyes that Coriss clearly saw. But before they could say anything else he was violently shoved forward by a Ceratosaur with his front horn dangerously pressed up against his back.

"Get moving!" he growled pushing the point even further.

With very little to resist with Corsis and the many others walked up the ramp in a single file with a 4-foot gap between them. Athena, who had also been counting all of them as they boarded, looked over and nodded, "That's all that we got originally. Any poor stragglers left are bound to be hunted down."

As the triceratops went back inside, Rexy glance over to Moore with the commanding look in her eyes. It was enough for Moore to know it was time to go.

Reaching over he grabbed his radio, "Helmsman!" he shouted as the ramp started rising. "Get us home."

During the Trip from Pena to Nublar...

Knowing that Alex wasn't going anywhere and that their long trip was just getting started, Blue had reluctantly felt that perhaps now would be the best of a possible time as any to figure out how to explain to their figurative father about just what the hell is going on.

Moving to a private room across the hall, Owen sat at a small table facing Blue that was directly across from him with her arms by her sides along with the others behind her. In all honesty, Owen felt like he was being interrogated but the roles were actually reversed in this scenario.

With the tip of her tongue to wet her lips, Blue spoke first, "So..." She tried dragging the word out as if it would eat up all the time they had. She honestly had no idea how to address her former Alpha and yet technically father about where they were in this state of time.

For Owen, though the first question he wanted to know was the first thing he said, "What the hell happened to you four?" The question was both blunt yet still had a curious notion to it. Honestly, who could blame him?

She struggled to find the right word that she hoped wouldn't make him angry, worried or anything of the negative, "We... adapted." His reaction was a raised brow, "We were given a... medicine that the many others have taken. It allowed them, and us, to be able to speak human tongue despite our limited physical abilities and to become closer to a split between both ourselves and human. Apparently Alex had discovered and made it, how no one truly knows, but it works."

She paused to give him time to digest the information.

"But how did you..." he looked back towards the others, "...survive?"

It was painful for him to admit it, but some part of Owen had actually wished that was the case. He saw what happened to all of them. Charlie getting blown up before his eyes, Delta getting fried, and Echo being chomped and thrown away. Of all of them he would've expected Echo maybe survive with some internal damage, given how physically and headstrong she was, to survive along with Blue.

But this was making it seem that the universe made all that into a giant magic trick to fool him into thinking that was the case.

"Barely." Delta responded looking away as a shiver ran down her spine to the point that even the tip of her tail shook like a rattlesnake. Remembering nothing but fighting and the cold feeling that the fire bathed her in before waking up.

"We... really don't know..." Charlie added with a downcast look. Pondering how even she could come back after being turned to chunks of flesh across the jungle.

"I didn't know that they were even remotely alive." Blue continued, "I was fast approaching my limits of how far I could continue to go. I still don't remember how, but we woke up in our old paddock. The gates were all open and yet in a way that someone had clearly been using it to some degree. We were all in our stables; I was the first to awaken to find they were still here."

"So he basically found you four and brought you back to life?" Owen asked feeling there was a massive chunk of information missing.

"In a way. He had already recovered Delta and Echo. Charlie, by his account, was found barely alive on the side of a road having crawled out of the forest. Each of us was suffering to an extent. Delta was badly burnt, Echo was basically crushed, and Charlie was in pieces." Owen winced each time she said their conditions. "But... whatever Alex had given us, it helped greatly on top of what we can already do. Just look at Charlie, without it she wouldn't even have legs right now."

While she wasn't comfortable using her sister as an example, it was a pretty damn good example. One that Owen could clearly tell. He knew that with how Ingen made him they had an increased healing rate to recover from things faster than most animals. But to come back from all that 2 years ago?

He raised them tough, and he smiled inwardly about that.

"After we had woken up, we were all surprised, to say the least, to see each other again. Then the next thing we see is a human. Truth be told we honestly thought it was you. But it wasn't; it was Alex. It surprised us a lot. When I was able to go about and move again I found him with Rexy tending to the others. Regardless of whom was in the range of who. People that would either be fleeing or hunting them down were all... living. Like such an idea of predator and prey didn't exist..."

"So he was pretty much a one-man army caretaker?" Owen questioned on how the actual hell one person could do something like that.

Blue nodded, "Very much so. And you can guess how much I was surprised when I found that we all could actually communicate with each other."

"Yeah..."

There was a pause for Owen to get his thoughts together after they were being chiseled away. That cleared up about 6 out of 200 things he wanted to know but that was still a massive chunk of 'unknown' sitting tall and proud.

"So why did you attack me?" He asked with a sad, almost accusing tone. This got them all to look at him with some concern. "I mean... I remember last time the hybrid told you something and all. But that... you weren't told to do that, were you?"

"I was... confused." Blue admitted, "It was just after those humans took Alex from us. I wanted to hunt them down and get him back. I thought I had the scent and the trail it made, but..."

"It led you to me."

She nodded, "You smelled faintly of them. Though with all the smells we've been around I thought of you as another enemy. It wasn't until Charlie came forth did I finally remember the scent. Though for Inda it probably was for the fact she smelled you and thought you had also taken him.

He pondered the name Inda for a moment. Thinking it over until it hit him, "Inda the Indominus... Really...?" This brought some curious looks from the girls, "I mean originality aside, Rexy is that because she's the only Rex on the island but Inda the Indominus?"

Blue shrugged, "It was her choice of name. We found her hiding in the older park when she took Alex sometime ago. Apparently whatever they made her with allowed her to change form and speak human speech like the rest of us."

"And why did she?"

"She... as a 'thing' out for Alex. Let us just say that it is something that is the only one of the few reasons she is even remotely close to being the definition of 'mentally unstable' to her usual 'rampaging monster' of her personality."

He was gonna regret it but he asked anyway, "And by 'thing' you mean...?"

Blue grimace when she realized what he was implying, "Being the only female of your species tends to make you, or her in this case, look for the closest thing that she deems fit to serve her purpose."

There as a pregnant pause after that. Owen was both physically stunned yet mentally laughing his ass off. To think that that kind of situation would fall upon some poor young bastard stuck on an island full of dinosaurs. For it to be the reverse wasn't that all surprising either. Though given how intelligent the Indominus was before to now, he could definitely see her pulling some kind of plan just to play with something.

'*sigh*' He leaned back in the chair rubbing his eyes. "I'm just... happy that you guys are alive and well." He said with a soft smile.

"I mean... 2 years ago I want you to be free, Blue. I didn't think that you would need me here nor would I have any real need to come back. Fast forward and now here we are. In the same room on a boat talking to each other..."

The girls felt a warmth grow within them. This was such a rare opportunity that neither party thought was even possible to happen. Sure some communication was there but it was bare-bones in of itself. To see what was basically your family get killed off by your very eyes, being alone and hurt without anyone by your side, be thousands of miles away not knowing where the other is.

It felt like more than just coincidence that the universe managed to direct the flow of events that lead them to be reunited.

Hell, Owen survived death-defying events in his life, his girls managed to survive somewhat the same.

"hehe... thinking back... kinda reminds me when Blue got addicted to Oreos." This thought suddenly reignited a couple of thoughts of their past. That particular one making Blue blush while her sisters to some varying degrees giggled of laughed.

Blue could only groan at how in this situation he would bring up a memory like that. It was embarrassing in of itself because she was completely at fault for what happened back then and even before 2 years ago it still haunted her whenever such delicious treat was within smelling distance.

"So if that's the case with... Inda, then why are you all so close to him? It's like you made him your new alpha or something..." Owen felt the words die out when he saw the ever-growing blush on Blue's face. It was probably the first time ever he saw something like that, but that suddenly went from 1 to 4 when the others were all dawning the same.

He was a bit confused about why they were acting like this. But the more he thought it over the more he connected his own puzzle.

Oh... did he have a lot of words to speak with this kid once he's awake...

To say that the trip north was slow would be an understatement worthy of having the person that said it was otherwise be slapped upside the head to hear the rock inside rattle for a moment.

For the first day it was mostly spent on both sides of the 'crew' getting situated. With most of the men having to set up in the cargo hold while a select few could go to their cabins to avoid overcrowding. The dinos, for the most part, took most of the more spacious areas with Rexy even taking over Coriss' room after giving it a more 'personal touch' that resulted in a few unknown things getting thrown overboard. Owen was lucky to still have his place, though that was mostly due to the fact that the room next to him, as he was the last in the hall, was where Inda decided to stake her claim.

He honestly thought that this was just her needing someone to toy with. He could see where the Alex kid would be in a bit of a similar situation but the girls had made it clear that there was a big difference between how the two of them were treated by her.

Speaking of them, they were given a recovery room as their quarters. Preferring to sleep as the pack they were even if it could barely hold 2 bunk beds. Something that Blue and Delta regretted having to sleep in when their sisters thought it as a 'fun change' on who held the high ground now. But the former accepted it as it was the closest room to Alex's that allowed them instant respond if needed and to track anyone that head his way.

Day 2 was when they were paralleling the Mexican coast. Staying nearly 300 miles out in international waters if things got complicated by either Mexico or the US finding them. They were booking it as fast as they could to California, food supply was starting to run low, though most Pteranodons on board went about on fishing raids to supply some form of substance. Most of the actual food that was taken from the camp was for humans. Mostly MREs, water and some snacks the individual soldier would have brought. The dinos on the other hand, but just as sparingly, with their food from home and what the ship had in its stores ate quick well.

Though it was a bit concerning to Owen how fast Echo seemed to suddenly love baked beans. A concern that made it so that Tracks had to check and see if was even a good idea for her to eat it. The concern didn't stop her from eating it, it did make a few immediately start hiding cans or quickly finish what they had.

Day 3 was when they were paralleling the Californian coast. Staying out in open water to avoid the coast guard but not too far to where they could make a slight change in course and make a beeline to their target.

It was at this point the dinos began planning the next part once they reach the mainland. They were going to use the very reason that this ship went to their home in the first place; capture anything they could and bring them back. If they were all in their natural forms the cargo bay meant to hold them could only hold a third of what was on the ship. So even if some had volunteered to be 'bait' they had a substantial force to work with.

A short radio call to the manor; 'Arrival ETA in 11 hours. Prepare docks for unloading.' was all that was said when Rexy had Moore have a radio operator send out the signal. Hoping for the most part that human obliviousness was still a strong trait among them they wouldn't expect the sudden change in personnel coming to greet them.

It was nearly midnight when the ship came within range of the Lockwood Manor. Moving up the channel to the docking bay where several awaiting trucks ready for their cargo sat with at least 2 dozen more men. After maneuvering the ship around to drop the ramp, the trucks started up as they back towards the ship. But what many immediately found strange was the fact that there were no lights on in the cargo hold. There was no radio contact minus the previous time of arrival and men to greet them. There was no movement, practically no sound minus the trucks and ocean. Just dead silence.

Stepping up onto the ramp 3 men grabbed their flashlights and shined around the hold. Noticing the front cages having assets still 'asleep' and only briefing in slow and shallow breaths but no crew.

One man brought a hand to his mouth and shouted, "Hello?!" He waited for any response. Either for someone to pop out or a dinosaur to start freaking out from the rude awakening. All he got was more silence.

"Gah!" Someone from behind cried out before falling to the ground like a sack of bricks. A large tranquilizer dark sticking out of his back with a now empty tub. The event was such a sudden and shocking sight, others failed to realize what had happened before feeling something jamming into their bodies and losing concussions.

"CONTA-" the man was silenced by dart to the thigh. On the ramp, the men barely had 3 seconds to react before each on was hit and fell to the ground.

Those in the trucks were met by something equally surprising when they felt something shake the trucks. If it had 1 or 2 occupants, they both opened their doors to look down at what was causing the rocking, but as they leaned out a sudden whizz of something flying, impact through clothes, a few grunts, and moans followed by them falling out onto the ground.

Within the span of a minute, at least 30 men were on the ground paralyzed. Unable to control any part of their bodies and speak as the assailants emerged from their places. Equipped with tranquilizer guns, 7 Pteranodons, and nearly 20 canopies with a few darts strapped to their bodies gathered at the base of the ramp.

Inside the cargo hold the lights burst to life. Those 'asleep' in the cages becoming fully alert as they shrunk back to human size from the cramped space. Rexy came marching down flanked by Athena, Owen, Blue, Inda and Moore to a young brownish tan flyer that stood at the front with the gun in hand.

"Is that everyone, Hunter?" Rexy asked the flyer.

He nodded, "From what we saw this was all of them that drove here. We heard nothing of them calling in distress."

She smiled approvingly. "Good. Now Major," she looked back at the man with a more predatory, toothy grin, "Let's go find us a doctor shall we?"

Doctor Henry Wu, biological genius, bringer of ancient life, and overall nutcase, smiled at the large tank that bubbled with an orange and blue glow as a palish pink body that resembled a velociraptor the size of a football floating behind the glass.

With a clipboard in hand and a smile on his face, he wrote down a quick note when his watch beeped. With a glance, he saw the time, 12:25, and felt the smile grow. The away team would've been done unloading the first batch of assets from the ship and be on their way by now. It was a 20-minute drive between the docks and the manor, given the time to load the trucks, it would only be another 5 to 10 minutes before they arrived. Plenty of time for everything to be ready.

Work on the new lab was nearing its final parts as the holding pens and primary lab were all ready to go. All around him his fellow scientists and biologists worked on many things; trading notes, prepping samples of DNA for future projects soon to come, etc. While it lacked the large backing that the Hammond Foundation and even Simon Masrani's company allowed them to rapidly expand and speed up the progress, Wu's primary focus was on the specimen in the tank.

A new breed of life. One better than his previous attempt with the Indominus Rex. That was more or less the trial run to see if it was even possible. This one would be to actually file down key aspects and give it the slimmed-down profile like how cellphones went from giant white bricks to simple pocket-sized devices to being nearly or more powerful than computers. This project was at that 'pocket-sized' stage; to build it into a working prototype that they can test and observe the current pros and cons before going into the refining stages.

This new creation would be built similarly as he had the I-Rex have a base genome of the T-rex but a much more toned downsize with a velociraptor base. He knew that while he was able to get a good chunk of the embryos before Jurassic World fell, but what he needed for this project was pure raptor blood and extract its DNA. More direct control by handlers yet be tamer and actually bondable with.

That was something that this, or at least the later version, would accomplish t-

"Doctor Wu." A voice over the intercom called out interrupting his thoughts.

Heading to the wall panel Wu swiped his finder across a green bar and answered.

"Yes?"

"The assets have arrived in the main bay. Coriss wants to see you." Wu scuffed at the mention of Coriss. He was effective at his job, something that even when Vic was still around mentioned about his success rate, but he was a pain in the ass to deal with when it came to the grander plan of things.

"I'll be right there."

Placing the clipboard down he readjusted his gray dress coat before heading out of the lab. Passing 2 guards that stood attention over the holding pens that were in the midst of having their new tenants be placed in. Giving each a nod with one in return as he stepped into a waiting elevator.

A short ride later and with a ding, the doors opened to reveal one of the several maintenance tunnels that ran around the property that was custom-built to allow transport of their 'bigger' assets back and forth with ease. To most, it was like walking around a military bunker, to Wu it was practical and yet an inconvenience at how far he had to travel to reach the docking bay whereby now they should be rolling the cargo off the first truck.

Taking a right turn he headed down the main hall that had a track running down the length of it to another elevator the led up to the display room. It was a bit bigger than the rest of the tunnels, but oddly here it was dark. There was no overhead or wall-mounted lights on making it seem like the hungry mouth of a cave.

Thump. Thump. Thump...

He didn't know what it was, but he could feel that with every sudden vibration the ground beneath him shook like a mini-earthquake something big was in the tunnel with him.

The shaking soon stopped however, just before the threshold of the light turning to shadow, when he heard 3 words that sent chills down his spine.

"There you are..."

Warm air rushed passed his face as a mixed scent assaulted his nose. Immediately stepping back as he tried looking through the dark hoping to see the women the voice seemed to emit from.

"Hello?" He called out. Holding his ground for a moment to wait for an answer.

What he got was more thumps heading towards him. And instead of a normal human being that he might have suspected of trying to play tricks on him to appear, what did appear was a massive snout and jaw full of teeth that could easily swallow a man whole with little to no effort.

When Rexy stuck her head through the shadows, Wu felt all hope and security suddenly vanish as did the color in his face. Instinctively he took a few steps back as Rexy pulled away from the shadow to reveal more and more of herself. Clearly too big for the hallway but crouched low enough to still move freely towards the man. The dim lighting only making her seem smaller yet bigger at the same time.

"Hello, Creator." The same voice he heard earlier say right in front of him. Watching as the jaws of the rex move at the same time.

Wu had to mentally reboot himself for a split second while staring up in utter shock and horror. The latter being simple, but the former being that there was a t-rex, the t-rex in the basement that just spoke to him!

Without uttering a syllable he booked it in a full sprint that his aging legs could give him. When he was rounding the corner he could have sworn he heard chuckling coming from around the corner as Rexy steadily moved to follow him. He was rounding the second corner of the intersection when he collided with seemingly nothing. Knocking all the wind out of his lungs as he fell backward onto the floor. Groaning from the hit, Wu tried looking around for whatever the hell had just stopped him dead in his tracks. Unlike the other hallway, this one had adequate lighting to where you can see to the end, and nothing was there!

But he noticed a glaring difference; the concrete floor was smashed in like someone was dropping a wrecking ball every 12 feet and the light from the overheads were pushed all the way up they were grinding into the ceiling.

There was a low growl, one that was louder than it really was from how close it sounded with a sudden gust of warm air flowing from its direction. Then came the chuckling, not like what he heard moments ago, but this one a much deeper tone with much more malice behind it.

Then like a magician making their assistant disappear, nothing in front of him became a big something. It's white skin, jagged teeth, piercing red eyes, he remembered seeing all of those before in one creation he was absolutely certain was dead on that godforsaken island.

"N-No! NO!" He tried desperately to crawl back to get any distance he could, "THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" Turning he leaped back to his feet to run but felt the ground leaves from under him as firm grip suddenly wrapped around his body.

The Indominus didn't have to move far with its largest arms easily grabbing the little man before he got get far.

"Uh, uh, uh! Not so fast, little man." Inda said like a child catching a fleeing bug. Making Wu honestly question if he accidentally came into contact with something that was making him see, feel and hear these things.

But that idea was shot down further when Rexy appeared from the hall. She looked back and forth between Inda and Wu before what he could tell was an actual grin dawned on her face.

"Let's go."

Right as she said those words, Wu felt himself experience violent jolt and felt darkness surround his mind.

It was maybe not even 10 minutes before Wu started waking up from his blackout. He was back in the lab if the white walls, lights and general sense of cleanness were any indications of his location. He has slumped awkwardly into a chair that when he went to move found his wrists tied down by two different ties probably right off of someone.

"Hello!?" He called out when it was apparent that there was no one here. No sign of his staff or the guards.

He could hear movement from the other side of the door and was feeling a sense of hope that someone was actually coming to get him.

What he got that made his blood run as cold as when he saw the rexes was a velociraptor; 4 of them.

Now he started to panic. He was aware that Blue was still alive on the island following the 2015 incident. But there were no records that showed all 4 of the raptors had survived. He vaguely recalls that one exploded during the Indominus hunt by a rocket and another getting roasted alive.

Yet despite not being around them much except around their births, Wu could only vaguely guess which was which. The light, while not the greatest source, still allowed him to see the distance colors. A distinct Blue strip, dark green with black, tanish brown, and a much lighter green. All 4 were here.

They came into the room much like a pack would be investigating the area. Blue at the front, Charlie in the back, Delta and Echo on her left and right respectively. Looking around the room for a moment before all eyes landed squarely on him.

"E-Easy girls." He tried to put up a brave face while flicking his hand in a 'calm down' gesture.

He couldn't tell if Blue even noticed or cared about his reaction. Only looking between Delta and Echo and barking out something that made the two come to either side of him. With a shift motion of each of their claws, they cut the ties apart freeing his wrists. Delta then moved the chair away, making him stand up quickly when she sent it rolling across the room.

Fearing that it was definitely not in his best interest to try to escape he let himself be lead on by Blue through the door with the other 3 behind him. But as he was pushed through by Echo he took a quick glance at the younger raptor and raised a brow when he noticed the oddly new coloration that Charlie had for her legs and arm.

Moving down a small, cramped hallway feeling like he was being taken to their nest, Wu watch with surprise and yet curiosity when Blue opened the door as a person would. Folding her digits around in a firm grip and rotating the knob. He had heard about some of the raptors knowing how to open doors from accounts when Jurassic Park fell and some cases on Sorna. But to see it, even if it was a small action, was a big deal in showing just how smart the animals really were.

Though Wu put the fact on how smart were they really?

Leading him down the catwalk he looked down to his right to see a startling sight. All the guards were either locked away in the cages or paralyzed on the ground stripped of their weapons. There were more than there should have been, some that were in other parts of the complex or sent out to unload the ship. There was even a triceratops standing just below the grade that Wu could briefly say had some kind of padding over its back. To his right, he saw what looked to be two Pteranodons guarding a door that held his staff into a side room from the lab. Being pushed to go into the main lab, Wu obliged as he was meet by a very strange sight.

A chunk of the room had been cleared away to make room for a large gurney that had several medical pieces of equipment hanging on the rails or next to it all leading to a young man that in Wu's personal opinion looked like utter hell. 3 of his staff was working on setting up even more equipment and taking some blood from his wrists while what he could only describe as a Pteranodon had grown into human proportions was working with them. Not like it was just watching over their tasks, but actually communicating and performing some of the tasks itself.

Standing some distance away was himself Owen Grady with his arms crossed leaning against a counter. Wu honestly felt that this was somehow his doing; his raptors were all here holding him hostage. How he got them to do that or if they were doing that was a mystery. But the way today was shaping up with how they were acting made him think it was something very different.

Another person that Wu was surprised to see was one of the recovery crew actually among them. Missing his weapons like everyone else but standing away from all the activity.

"Major Moore?" He said shocked at how the man was fine. "What the hell is going on here?!".

"They want you to fix him." He answered gesturing to the young man on the gurney. Wu, completely bewildered, looked back and forth between more and the ensemble of animals gathered in the room.

"W-What? Fix him?"

That was when the velociraptor, Blue, suddenly came up to him with something grasped in her claw.

"Fix him." She demanded to thrust the vile into his chest, "Now."

Shocked that he could even get more surprised tonight, Wu tried to come up with his response, "But-I'm a BIOLOGIST! I'm a doctor with things involving DNA, not medical treatment."

"You managed to create all of us. Create me." Inda said appearing from the doorway. Having to duck down the smaller frame with Rexy following behind.

Upon seeing them, Wu felt that all sense of sanity had now vacated his body and soul. Seeing his previous ultimate creation walk into the same room with him and still be ready to bite his head off made him really wish it was just a case of him accidentally being injected by something.

"How-How exactly am I suppose to do that? Regrow his lungs?"

"If so. You manage to recreate life from beyond your time. You can combine things into something new. You sure as hell can save my son's life." Rexy said coming around and going face to face with the man. The size difference between what he knew as the T-Rex to the figure before him now actually seemed to match up if she was a human being.

But then in the strangest and possibly nastiest sounds he's ever heard, he looked over to watch the raptors stand more promptly on their legs and have their bodies collapse in on themselves. Smaller necks, actual arms, and hands, even clothes appearing over their bodies till they were in the same state as the others.

Watching this unfold Owen couldn't help but shake his head in amazement. Having only seen it once for them to go back to normal it was the first he saw them become human-sized.

"That will honestly never get old..." he muttered.

"Use that." Blue pointed to the file, "And make him like us."

It took a moment for Wu to understand what she, as it was like Grady said, it will not get old listening to them speak, that this thing, whatever the strange cocktail this liquid was managed to turn them until what they are now.

Almost automatically he unscrewed the top and let a very small drop plop down onto a small plate and shift it under an analyzer. Adjusting his eyes to the sudden bright light Wu carefully starts looking over the different strains that the mix was comprised of. What he saw at first was your basic traces of frog DNA that they used to originally create all the dinosaurs since day 1. But when he saw what stuck out like a sour thumb, he had to look away before looking back.

Turning away again he went to a monitor that should a larger version of the sample and highlighted the various parts; one, in particular, caught his and the other biologists' attention. He tried to think of any possibilities of how this was even possible, but every scan and file he brought up all pointed to the same thing.

A strong, stable presence of human DNA and it wasn't at all interfering with the surrounding strains that made up the whole picture.

"How in the hell was this even made this?" He looked back into the viewer, "Something like this would take years to make. It took us years just to make a hybrid from scratch. This is literally a blank slate with DNA that could be paired into anything."

"While we don't recall how he did it, we know that it works. The evidence is literally right in front of you."

Wu looked up in disbelief, "Wait, you mean to say he," he pointed to Alex, "made this?!"

Several nods confirmed this. But what Inda followed it up with made him feel a brain vessel was preparing to commit suicide.

"Except for me." She said surprising a few, "Your crazy cocktail held traces of human already in it. I didn't need the serum to be able to speak and change."

"You son of a bitch." Owen spoke up with venom in his voice and fire in his eyes. "That's why you said about all that 'classified' bullshit. Just so that no one would go after you because you messing with kind of nature that the world would turn its eyes to."

"It was in the name of science, Grady. Before we didn't know the full implications, but now we can take it to places beyond what evolution could."

SLAM!

"NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT YOUR SCIENCE!" Inda roar when she sent her fist into the wall. Burying it up to her wrist before retracting it with a few bruises that she didn't pay mind to. "NOW FIX HIM!"

"With what, this? If I were to use this it would lead to a mutation in such a way that it could outright kill him if his body rejects it."

"Then use mine." Blue lifted her arm out to him, "Let him be like us."

"I can't."

"And why not?" She said with malice at how her willing to give part of herself to save him wouldn't work.

"Because your DNA is tainted if it already has his. Using it would lead to a whole new set of problems, unlike anything you could imagine. We'll need an untainted sample if you want it to work without killing him even more.

"And where the hell are you gonna get an untainted sample?" Owen piped up, "Literally every dinosaur on that island and here as it in them. Not unless you decided to cook up another one again."

Wu wanted to remark on Grady's words. But the latter part started making him actually think. This made Owen look more sternly at the man with a very questioning gaze.

"You did, didn't you." It was more of an accusation than a question. One that brought varying levels of anger from the dinos, especially Inda, at the fact that this man trying to play god went on and made another. Sure he gave her life, but she wanted nothing more than to show what this bastard had created. So much so she let out a low growl that was directed to the doctor that he noticed her reaction.

Feeling the air in the room drops a degree, Wu went over to the large tank that held the growing specimen.

"We call it, the Indoraptor." This brought both angry snarls from the Indominus and raptor sisters. "It was to be a more intelligent and controllable hybrid that we could grow to be more adaptable than its predecessor."

With a glance from Rexy, Owen, Blue, and Moore they could all see the inferno that primal rage was ready to unleash on the man.

"Clarie is going to have a field day with this..." Grady muttered under his breath returning to his previous position. If any karma was to be given to Wu, it would most likely be in the hands of the Indominus that he just outright said was the inferior version of his current pet.

"At the moment it contains just the genomes that comprise its basic biology along with makeup similar to the Indominus. Our original plan with this was for this to just be a prototype with the base genome of velociraptor. The sample of just we only had for the base. A needed aspect for it to be perfected and streamlined was to use pure raptor DNA."

His gaze fell upon Blue that made her feel a bit uncomfortable, "You were originally supposed to be the DNA source for us to be able to give it more positive characteristics that this version would lack once birthed and fully grown. And by extension be the mother figure of the next generation. But because of your... 'condition', there's a high chance it won't work now."

Blue was taken back by the sudden info dump that was basically her part in the creation of the thing floating in the tank. The humans had already messed with her type before and it caused mass chaos and death. Now they wanted to use it for something much more complex and even deadlier. And her to be the 'mother figure' of the next generation! She didn't know if to be disgusted or angry at the notion of them thinking she would even agree to that if she couldn't talk at all. She knew that the only way that would remotely happen was by more 'personal' means in the way life intended.

"So your idea is just to stick him full of that things blood and hope that it doesn't KILL HIM?!"

"The Indoraptor is designed to be able to adapt to a lot, I can assure you. It made to be the ultimate killing machine for a reason and to do so has the best traits from the gene pools of each sample it's built from. It's entirely possible that nothing may happen or it will give him a stronger immune system. It can all boil down to-"

"Just do it." Rexy said with her eyes shut and fists clenched like it was the hardest pill to swallow.

"Rexy you can't believe that-"

"I know. I took a similar gabble letting a random human 2 years ago come up to me and give me a strange serum. If this is the same for what we must do for Alex, then I would rather have him have a chance at being with us again than simply withering away." She looked to Wu with an aged fire that spoke to him in its own voice. "But let it be... if you try anything to bring internal harm to him, I will devour you."

It wasn't just a promise, it was a vole that she would take to her grave to fulfill. Every dinosaur and even Owen knew that the weight her words spoke in was as true as any other. Something the Wu, despite whatever could happen, knew there were more outcomes involving his death by the hands of the t-rex, hybrid or raptor in this room than anything else in his life.

Slowly shaking his head he agreed.

"Alright, people. Let's get to work." He said taking the vile over to his equipment.

Carefully disconnecting each machine minus the monitor and IV they pushed it to the side as Wu dawned a pair of medical gloves with a needle in hand. Grabbing a vile from a tray of dozens of others he instinctively pulled out a test tube with the label 'IDR-B4P'. It was the very sample they had used to be the growing process of what was floating in the tank minus some of the more prominent strains of DNA. With the needle, he stuck it in as far as he could and pulled out a small just up past the third line before retracting it and grabbing the serum. Sticking it in he quickly watched the red liquid seemed to sizzle for a moment in the serum before it settled down.

Giving it a gentle swish to mix it some more, he held a new needle up to the top and stuck it in. Pulling the plunger back as far as he could to fill the entire tube with the liquid. Giving it a tap, he heads over to the side with Alex's IV. Looking over to Rexy for the sign to either stop or continue.

With much reluctance in that this could go down who knows what route, she nodded.

With a reaffirming nod Wu carefully pulled the IV out of his arm. Wu carefully placed the needle next to his wrist and ejected the entire dose into the man. Wiping away a small drop from where the puncture went in he set the needle aside and stood back.

There was a sudden density in the air that seemed to make it all that much harder to breathe. There was no reaction at all from Alex as the monitor stayed the same. For a moment it would seem that it didn't do anything at all.

Then the heart monitor exploded. And with a level of lung power he didn't at all possess before or after being shot, Alex roared with a pain in his voice like never before.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

(Imagine in the movie Venom when Eddie is getting his MRI scan and his utterly crying out. Though without the whole parasite under the skin situation.)

The second he started shaking Blue immediately went to his side. Wrapping a hand around his in a tight reassuring grip knowing the kind of pain he was going through when she first got the mix. But with his injuries, she could only imagine how much more torture he was experiencing.

"It's okay Alex..." she whispered to him, trying to comfort him in some form, "It's gonna be okay..."

While he showed no reaction to her actions, his entire body continued to spasm like a thousand earthquakes in his bones. The familiar sounds of bones popping echoed throughout the room making everyone, no matter how much of a stoic expression they put up, flinch from each pop. All over his skin was beginning to turn red like a first-degree burn was cooking him. Skin flacking off as parts actually began to adopt a much blacker coloration that scabbed over.

He uncontrollably thrust upward and held the position. More bones and the sound of tearing flesh from underneath surprised them all when a thick apanage started to stick out from the side of the gurney. Growing in length to be nearly 5 feet of a gradually smoothing tail that dawn dull, yet glistening black scales with hints of yellow. It wasn't the only part going black; his arms and what was exposed of his legs started to rapidly shift from the pan skin to the black scale with each limb seemingly growing just a bit in size that was followed closely behind by muscle pops.

It was at least another solid 2 minutes of Alex screaming his lungs out before the crying started easing down into a whimper and a few pops from his settling bones were all that was heard. His body was finally done spasming out as it fell into a more exhausted relax state despite his lower half being propped up a bit from the new addition that ate up some of the space.

Everyone held their breaths as Wu went by the monitor. Swiping between 3 different displays and closely looking over each one before the look of utter amazement dawn on his face.

"It's done." He looked to the changed man, "It... actually..."

To say Alex was... different would be an understatement.

He still looked like himself. Better in fact, like any muscle that was formed over his time tending to the park suddenly got an upgrade. But what really added to that was the fact that covering parts of his body was blackish-hid/scale that covered all parts of his body with just his belly, crotch, feet, the palms of his hands and a good bit of his head to not have them. Though there was a notable lighter patch over his chest where his wound once was. His hands seemed to even have extended growths that looked more like the starting points for claws. From the edges of his eyes trailing down his neck, across his shoulders and down his torso all the way to his feet a golden-yellow stripe with a charcoal gray outline was present.

To anyone, it would look almost like a more roughed up version of Blue's own stripe, possibly an even more human Blue or any of the girls if they had more human traits than they had and were male. His colors were definitely something unexpected. Wu was even surprised that despite the contaminated DNA it was even possible to create something like this. Sure he's added tiny bits of human DNA in his tests to create hybrids he never would have thought the reverse would happen and succeeded.

This was his ultimate creation. The perfect blend between Man and Dinosaur. Mental patting himself on the back he turned away from the group back towards his monitors to make sure everything was perfect and to record every inch of every second of this.

Just a moment later the group slowly approached the gurney. Hope and shock adorn their faces at what they were looking at. Rexy was happy to see that her figurative son wasn't close to dying again, but wouldn't deny that deep down she felt a sense of joy that he was now much closer to them physically than before. Inda, on the other hand, was looking him up and down with a hungry look. Taking into account all the new muscle and scales that were practically the polar opposite of hers. But that didn't stop her from thinking of all the new possibilities they could have when they got home.

Owen felt that he had forgotten several reasons why he should be putting Wu to the floor. In all reality, if it wasn't for him they wouldn't be here. Making cloned dinosaurs was one thing. Making an entirely new one was another that clearly overstepped, but now making human/raptor hybrids? What a world this has become...

For the girls, however, it was definitely a sight to behold. With 2 on each side, they carefully looked up and down his body. Briefly touching his new hid that had a gentle warmed to it that made them want to feel even more of it. She recalled this warmth whenever they were in contact themselves; back by the river alone, she felt it. But this was more widespread, like bread fresh from the oven after a small cool down.

"Heartbeat is stabilizing..." Wu spoke to no one in particular but loud enough to make the room hear. "Breathing is up by 10%, brainwave activity normal..." He didn't bother reading the rest. Instead of looking up at the group.

"It worked," he said with a small smile and hint of pride that his science managed to accomplish such feat in biology.

It was 2 simple words that spoke a lot about what many were thinking. Visually he looked better than ever. For some a crazy combo and for others a perfect blend. But the question remained if the inside was changed, if at all what originally remained.

Giving his hand tight squeeze Blue leaned over looking down at his unconscious form. "Alex?"

It was almost a whisper, but one direct to him for just him to hear. There was a brief pause in the world where everything seemed to stop and hold its breath. A solid 20 seconds passed before there was any movement. Like someone trying to regain their senses after rudely wakening up his eyes fluttered open blinking away the long tiredness that's plagued him for days and the return of sudden bright light. While a good chunk of him changed, his eyes were another thing that thankfully didn't. He didn't seem to notice Blue or anyone present. Just looking around at the various objects on the ceiling.

"Alex?" Blue asked again gaining his attention.

It took him a moment to wet his lips and get his thoughts straight before answering, "Yeah, Blue?" His voice, while it wasn't at all different, lacked the hidden struggle he would have whenever talking with bad lungs. It was something that Blue thought as him possibly gaining more internal based changes as did the out.

But at this point, that thought was shoved to the side when a smile began to crack in full blow and a tear rain down her left cheek. Gripping his hand even tighter she lunged forward. Breaking the hold but replacing it with an even bigger one with her arms around his torso with her cheek pressed up against his. Feeling the warmed brought on by the massive contact made her even hold on to him tighter.

She wanted to honestly laugh now. 2 years ago she thought she was alone and on the verge of death. Only to discover that someone was caring for both her and her family. Now it felt like the tables have turned; where the ones that were originally being cared for suddenly become the caretaker of the one that got them to where they were now. They were both nearly lost, but yet the other was still there to the end by their side no matter what.

After all, what is a beta without her alpha?

This is it. The end and last author note for this story. At the time of my writing this note it's less than 8 days before New Years and I still have a ton of writing to do. But by some sheer luck, I managed to crank out this mofo.

Surprisingly I didn't intend for this chapter to get this big, originally set a goal of 7,000 words to make the story end with 100,000 even. But I guess its better to end this story with what is its biggest part out of 29.

There are many things I didn't get to incorporate into the story. Many things that I was slowly building the stage for the show but it ultimately got sidelined for what you have now been reading for 3 years.

By some force when looking at the word count I strangely wanted to end this story at an even benchmark given how its 29 chapters instead of the long-ago planned 35. I will answer questions retaining some aspects to this part of the story, though for clarification: this whole operation of retrieving the dinosaurs prior to the volcano going hot takes place a year before Fallen Kingdom in the early summer (though it was discovered to becoming active again in Febuary 2017, it was still in an unnoticeable stage of activity). The intro in retrieving the Indominus' bone is both reconned yet canon as In-Gen did try to retrieve a sample. So the Indoraptor is still in VERY early stages of development. (Think Indominus hatching from the egg in JW.)

I don't think I even remotely did Henry Wu at all right. It just that his character in all the movies is a man used to having all control of the situation and be able to bail out when shits about to hit the fan.

With Jurassic World 3 coming in 2021 I doubt that whatever story it has for the franchise that I'll be back to this story in some form or another. It is also unknown that if in the next 5 plus years this story ends up getting purged from my library for some reason or transferred out to another site/account.

Even though this ended the way it did I can (but probably won't for a long while) build a sequel that would probably revolve around Nublar's volcano situation and take the story completely to the mainland and dive more into the actual romance aspect that this was missing that I, unfortunately, had to forgo. Where this chapter ended still lives the door open for the possibility of adding on the last 6 main chapters to completely finish this story.

But, as it is I hope you got some kind of interest out of this. I did for a bit on how far I managed to get this idea alive and well, it's now to rest.
