"Thought you could hide from me forever, huh?! Well think again, you no good mother fucker!"
Killua snickered at the expletive.
A Titan-elf hybrid stormed over in the direction of the bar. It was a male, overweight with muddy brown hair and tanish skin. He had pointed elven ears and was bordering on eight feet tall (the titan part of him).
Who exactly is this dude after? Things are looking amusing.
The atmosphere in the tavern had tensed, as it usually did whenever a fight broke out. Killua watched a couple of groups get up and leave, likely not wanting to get injured in the battle that he smelled brewing. Meanwhile, several groups of regulars simply sipped their tea and watched the chaos unfold.
"Gutsy of him to start a fight with the silver haired one on duty."
"Yeah, he's a real sucker for a fight."
Killua smiled under his mask at the comments from the bystanders. He had earned quite the reputation. It was only thanks to Knov that said reputation didn't get him into too much trouble. Still. Some people did show up on occasion to challenge him. Not that it meant anything. Any challenger in this neck of the woods proved monotonously weak.
Killua set down his current shot glass and the rag, ready to see who exactly this man was challenging.
The large male stopped just short of the bar, about five feet away. He glared in the direction of-
"That's not a very nice word, you know," said a young, male voice.
Killua's eyebrows raised as he watched the Titan hybrid's opponent make themselves known: it was the hooded stranger!
The large man growled. "Shut it, asshole. It's about time you paid for all the trouble you caused me! Prepare to die!"
Killua snorted. He talked a big talk; it was more than likely that he couldn't back it up.
I'm interested to see where this goes, especially with the hooded guy involved.
Killua turned his attention to the hooded figure. He was still seated at the bar, back to the hybrid. His drink still untouched. Killua's pointed ear twitched as he heard the stranger sigh.
"Stand up and face me!" the aggressive man yelled.
Killua's eyebrows just raised even further. The hooded figure stood up, slowly and threateningly, bloodlust pouring off of him in droves. The silver haired Valkyrie giggled to himself, this was gonna be so fun to watch!
"Cut it with the antics, would ya?" snarled the challenger.
"Whatever you say-" voiced the stranger once again. He sounded younger than Killua had expected. The hooded male whipped around suddenly and slung his cloak from his shoulders. "-Tonpa!" he finished.
Killua took in a breath.
Now out from hiding, the hooded figure was revealed to be a young boy, of the same age as the Valkyrie! He was just shorter than Killua was, with a muscular build and ruddy, tan skin. He had dark greenish hair that stuck straight up, spiking in all directions, as if gravity meant nothing at all. Killua couldn't see his face from where he was, but he could see that the boy had rounded ears.
A human? No, couldn't be. He has the stature of a mythical being.
The mystery boy was dressed in quite the… interesting get up. He wore a cropped, vibrant green jacket with an orange hem over a black undershirt. All paired with some alarmly short green shorts and knee high platform boots (well maybe "platform" was a bit of an overstatement, but they were slightly heeled and Killua loved feeling taller than people).
Now that's an aesthetic if I've ever seen one.
The man, Tonpa, laughed haughtily. "You've caused me problems for the last time, you little brat!" He motioned with his arm. Half the fucking restaurant stood up and joined him in formation!
Killua had seen brawls break out between groups of people before, but he'd never seen anything like this! This was the biggest spectacle Killua had ever seen! The boy, decked out in green, didn't waver in the slightest.
Is he completely insane?! He's way outnumbered! Not to mention his power level is nowhere near high enough to stand even the slightest of chances! I'd be fine, of course, but not him!
The tanned boy lowered his stance, ready for battle.
Killua laughed, breathy and light. He looked over to his left where Palm was standing and watching beside him. He met her gaze, and they shared a silent exchange. With a roll of her eyes she slipped into the back room to get Knov and Morel. Things were about to get big.
"Now then," Killua drawled, drawing attention to himself and breaking the tension in the room. "Don't you think this is a bit extreme? He's only a kid after all." Killua lept gracefully over the bar, hands comfortably in his pockets the whole time. He landed in a standing position, and walked leisurely up to stand beside the mystery boy.
Tonpa's expression contorted, and his eyebrow twitched. "Who the hell're you? And who are you callin' a kid, kid?" Killua shifted his weight from one foot to the other, a lazy expression in his eyes. He forced a condescending laugh, "speak for yourself, old man! You're the one who needs an army to beat two little kids."
"I wouldn't call 18 a kid, you little shithead! He brought this upon himself, and apparently you're asking for trouble as well! GET EM!" Killua scoffed, this was so ridiculously petty. It was as if this stupid man was reading off of a poorly writtten script. Not to mention he was contradicting himself about the age thing, idiot.
Half the restaurant rushed Killua and the boy. They stepped back to back, and then leapt into the fray. The Valkyrie darted from opponent to opponent, happy to let off some steam after such a boring shift. He turned necks and slashed jungulars. All too easy. So easy that he was able to keep an eye on the green clad boy.
All he was was a flash of spiky hair every now and then, this stranger was a surprisingly good fighter. Killua watched as he made his way to Tonpa himself. The silver haired boy smirked as he heard the commotion of Knov, Palm, and Morel entering the fray. This would be over with shortly.
The guests just continued their meals, the more rowdy ones occasionally shoving someone or calling out a cheer. This was all normal for the Clawthorne Inn and Tavern, and that was why Killua loved it so much here.
The carnage was over all too quickly. Killua held the body of his final opponent high over his head, prepped to rip him in half and douse himself with the delicious blood he knew lay beneath, this one had been a human. Humans had the best tasting blood!
Speaking of humans…
Killua felt a burning sensation on the back of his neck, he turned around to see Knov giving him a death stare. "Aw, you're no fun, old man," Killua grumbled, dropping the body.
"You know how I feel about you eating people in my establishment," Knov said as he pushed his glasses up his nose in annoyance. "I am a human, right here. Have a little class, Killua."
Killua's would-be brilliant comeback was just off by a battle cry and a shriek of terror. The Valkyrie turned just in time to see the mystery boy punch Tonpa's ugly face in. The boy stood up and shook a splattering of blood off of his hand. Morel whistled, Killua smirked, Palm wrinkled her nose in disgust, and Knov straightened his suit jacket.
Knov went back to his office, Palm returned to the bar, Morel started cleaning up the bodies, and Killua approached the boy. "Wow, impressive," the silver haired Valkyrie said as he approached.
The stranger turned around and suddenly Killua was assaulted with the brightest and biggest grin he had ever seen in his life. "You were so cool!" the strange boy exclaimed. Killua felt his face warm a little bit, and was suddenly grateful for his mask, he wasn't used to praise.
"Eh, it was nothin'." He was able to track my movements mid-battle? He's stronger than I thought.
"How old are you?" the boy asked, that smile so wide Killua was surprised his face didn't fall off.
"18."
"Me too! My name is Gon, what's yours?"
"Killua."
"It's nice to meet you, Killua!" The boy, Gon, thrust his hand forward. Killua, recognizing the gesture as a human greeting ritual, tentatively grasped the outstretched hand in his own. The tan boy shook their hands energetically up and down several times, grinning all the time.
Killua couldn't decide where to look: at his practically glowing face, at their clasped hands (both still splattered in blood), or at his ridiculous outfit. I just watched him brutally murder a man not a minute ago! How is he so… bright?
The Valkyrie settled for his face. His skin, as he had observed earlier, was a ruddy, almost reddish-brown tan. He had brown markings splattering across his nose and cheekbones, and had two little horns poking out of his forehead above each of his eyes. His eyes were a golden color, and were sent into sparkling hues of oranges and yellows whenever the light hit them. His mouth was happy and grinning, full of sharp, serrated teeth. Unlike Killua's teeth which were normal save for the sharp incisors that curved into fangs, all of Gon's teeth came to a point. Like a shark. Or a pixie.
So he's a hybrid. I don't have a guess as to what his blood is a mix of, he's one of the most unique looking humanoids I've ever seen.
Gon released Killua's hand after what felt like an eternity.
My hand feels so empty without his in it…
Killua quickly snapped his hand back to his side once he realized that he had just been sitting there with it extended. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and angled his head so that his bangs covered his eyes.
"Well," Gon exclaimed, "Now that that's over with I'm gonna go check into my room! I'll be staying here for a while before moving on to the next town, hopefully I see you around, Killua!" And with that he skipped away. Yes, skipped; like a little kid, nothing like the 18 year old the Valkyrie knew he was.
Killua watched him go with an expression he was glad was covered by his mask.
For some reason I want to…
Killua let his thoughts trail off, and with his eyes hidden behind his bangs moved to help Morel and the waitresses clean the blood off the cobblestone floor.
AN: Gon has arrived!
