"You should really get a proper white cane, Tails." Wave pointed out, staring at his umbrella.
"Why? It's not like there's a law against it. And besides, I have an emotional attachment to this umbrella. I started using it the day I became blind, and I'm still using it. It's also handy when it rains all of a sudden. Don't say it's not, because I know that this has gotten both of us out of a jam before." Tails pointed at her sternly, not taking "no" for an answer.
"You do realize you are creating a standard for all the blind folk out there with what you do, right? Wouldn't it be better to show people that a white cane is what people with your condition use? Not just any old object that looks like a cane?"
Tails thought about this hard, gripping the handle on his umbrella and turning it over.
"I'd rather be true to myself. If I get criticized for that, so be it." Tails shrugged, knowing that there were already people who called him a narcissistic egomaniac for what he does.
I really have no idea how I write drabbles that fit the next day's theme much better. This is the third time this has happened.
