Tangle groaned, waking up but not opening her eyes just yet. Her head felt dizzy, her body ached all around, and she could feel something warm covering her. Was it her tail?

"Are you awake, Tangle? Don't open your eyes just yet." The faint voice of Whisper came from nearby, and that was enough for Tangle to feel safe.

"I'm awake, Whisper. Is something in front of my eyes or is it just really late?" She couldn't sense light beyond her eyelids.

"It's very dark here. You do have a sleeping mask on you though. I thought it might help you rest. Does it help?" Whisper was right beside her now, lifting up Tangle's shirt.

"Woah, girl, not now. I feel awful."

"Get your mind out of the gutter…" Whisper blushed as she applied medicine to her wound. "We fell. I couldn't grab you in time and you fell straight down...I landed safely thanks to my hover wisp, but you didn't…" Whisper trailed off at the end, feeling guilty of not being able to save her friend.

"Whisper, it's fine. It's not your fault." Tangle knew Whisper would feel terrible now. This was a girl who apologized for breathing the wrong way.

"We'll just have to wait for others to find us down here. So don't try to hurt yourself without anyone trying to do that for you." Tangle reached for Whisper's hand, holding it and not letting it go.
