Prolouge: The Archer's Mistress

"Archer!" My head snapped up from my desk, "Huh?" I heard my mistress laugh. I smiled gingerly and stood to bow. "Now, now, we'll have none of that. Remember you're my friend first, then my waiting lady. I expect you to be a friend not a servant." Lady Penelope waved me back into my seat. "How easily that is forgotten..." I muttered. "Mother, Father requests your presence at once!" the young son of my mistress entered the room. He bowed before his mother and then to me nodded, "Lady Archer." I smiled warmly at the young boy who seemed as though a younger brother to me. I stood up to follow Lady Penelope. She shook her head, "No need Archer, my husband has yet to harm me with words or force. I'll be fine." I nodded to her and once again took my seat at the desk. "What are you working on?" I felt Telemachus at my elbow. He was tall for a six year old. I turned my face to him and said, "It is my next sketch...I'm drawing a horse this time." He laughed with amusement and remarked, "Isn't that what you always draw?" I ruffled his hair and then replied, "Shhh, it's a secret." He nodded and I continued, "It's a present for your mother and father's Corasandacore-a-san-duh...Do you think they will like it?" I pulled the paper down. "They'll love it." http/community. I smiled at him, "Hurry along so you can do your studies Telemachus, or your father will be furious again." He laughed and ran out of the study. I sighed and returned to my master's affairs with the other kings. Meetings, greetings, banquetes, parties, treaties, and such were all up to me to get arranged for my master and my mistress. Don't get me wrong, they were wonderful, but sometimes I had found myself day dreaming of winning a great battle...Little did I know that in time I might actually fight in a battle...
