Okay, so maybe I should be working on the third in the Alternate Universe Trilogy. Maybe this little poem makes no sense whatsoever. Maybe I don't care. Maybe you should be nice to me, as this is my first poem on fanfiction, and I haven't actually read the Last Herald Mage trilogy in a while. Maybe I could point out that I haven't even read all of Mercedes Lackey's books yet. But Maybe I won't. Anyway, here it is.

Dedicated to my uncle, who barely outlived his mother by a month or two. I hope you found whatever you were looking for.

Disclaimer: Although none of her characters are ever actually mentioned in this poem, I just wanted to clarify that I am no Mercedes Lackey.

One walks the skies.

One walks alone.

One found the truth.

One lost it all.

One heart freed.

One broken.

One last song.

One with many more.

One we loved.

Never to be seen.

One we love.

Never the same.

We weep for one.

And yet it seems so wrong.

One is where they belonged.

And one was left behind.

Why do these tears fall?

Whose sorrow is it?

Which one do we weep for?

Who was really hurt?

Two are now

Reunited.

One was lost.

One broken.

Now both are where they should be.
