Jack left the others who sat around the fire. His conscious was making it difficult to live with lying to Michael and his wife. He stepped into the bus and took a seat on the long couch. He looked around the bus, pulling off his felt beanie. He put his head in his hands- usually things didn't affect him so much. But for some reason this trip was more then just any other trip- there was something about it- it almost seemed like déjà vu.

He hadn't realized it but Sam had walked into the bus now. She closed the door behind her, it had been awhile since they had really talked. She sat down on the couch, next to him, and he looked at her surprised.

"I don't know why- it just doesn't feel right," Jack shook his head. Sam nodded, "I know. I've been feeling the same way."

"I wonder why… maybe it's because their just really good people"

"That doesn't mean you're not a good person," Sam reminded him. Jack shook his head again, "at least you're here. That makes me feel somewhat like a decent person."

Sam smiled, rubbing his back lightly with her hand, "As much as I'd like to go home- I think I'm really going to miss this time."

Jack nodded.

Sam continued, "It's so peaceful, so alive. People have hope here… that's more then I can say for our time."

"I think it's a decision made by the individual- and when one person loses hope, it's up to a friend to mend those wounds," Jack turned toward her. Sam watched him as he lifted one hand and placed it on her cheek, "don't you?"

Sam nodded, never letting her eyes detach from his. He slid his other hand along the couch, to support himself, as he leaned in closer to her. Sam closed her eyes- she was ready, it was time. He touched his lips against hers lightly at first, both had feelings of doubt. But soon those disappeared.

Sam opened her eyes only for a second, before he pulled himself closer to her. She let his lips press against hers, she let him hold her close as he kissed her deeper and deeper.

After a few moments he let go of her. He took off his jacket and slid down the couch. Sam rested on his chest, his jacket draped over her. Soon she was fast asleep and so was he.

The End.
