Author's Note: Because I wanted to see a little bit more time traveling in Loki, I decided to extend the part with Loki and Sylvie and add in a couple of pit stops before they landed on Lamentis-1. Though I know the TemPad was low on battery after she used it to bomb the timeline, I feel like that power source would've kept it charged for at least a couple more uses before it died. Anyway, enjoy this randomness.

Tech Savvy

There was only a few seconds to spare before they both ended up pruned. It was lucky that this Variant possessed one of those TemPads or they'd be royally screwed. Loki snatched it from her beltline and randomly button mashed it to get it to do something, anything, to get them away from where they were.

The floor turned orange and gave out on them, dropping them both into what seemed like an odd version of the Bifrost, whizzing through time and space. This wasn't exactly how he recalled the time doors behaving, but maybe their destination was simply space itself, which also wasn't a good place to be.

The woman grabbed onto his waist, sheathing her shortsword before reaching out for the TemPad. Her fingers grazed over the dial and hit the center button, sending them through another orange door and crashing harshly onto the ground of somewhere.

"You are an absolute moron, aren't you?" she snapped, quickly getting to her feet and hastily moving toward him. "You have no idea—"

The ground groaned heavily under them, shaking and rocking the woman off balance. She stumbled back to the ground beside Loki, who had yet to sit upright since he landed flat on his back. He did recognize that massive volcano currently spitting out puffs of ash, however. He was there not too long ago, meaning the village wasn't far off, either.

"Give me the TemPad!" she barked, shifting up on her knees.

Loki had it held tightly in hand, and he flipped open the screen and quickly surfed through the locations stored in it. The woman lunged for it right as he hit the button to open a door, rolling out of the way at the same time. That one very long second of silence ticked by before the massive volcano of Pompeii roared its ugly head in the background and coated the air with its hot, suffocating ash now barreling down the slope to devour everything in its path. The time door opened several dozen feet from them, which was strange considering the others opened right beside or under them.

He quickly got to his feet, making a break for the door, the woman hot on his heels. The TemPad held tightly in his hand, he watched as the ash started moving right for them and the door. They needed to make it.

Mere inches away now, he turned and grabbed the woman with his magic and pulled her through as the ash surrounded the door. She collided with him once they were in the new place.

This time it took them somewhere dark and desolate. Ruins of ships and vast buildings were strewn about in the darkness. This was the Dark Elves realm, but based on its decrepit appearance, it seemed promising enough for Loki to take a breather, never running so urgently like that in his life, but his Variant didn't share the sentiment.

"Stop being an idiot and give me that!" she hissed. "You've messed up my coordinates and are taking us to very dangerous places in time!"

"That's not exactly how you should show your appreciation for saving your neck… twice," Loki deadpanned.

"I wouldn't need saving if you simply stayed out of my way!"

She went to punch him, but Loki stepped back quick enough to avoid it, parrying her arm away with his own. He didn't avoid her leg curling around his a beat later, hooking it from under him and sending him to the ground on his back. Now pinned, Loki couldn't help but roll his deep, emerald eyes at the fiery look in her vibrant blue ones.

"Surely there is a better time to do this…"

She lunged for the device, to which Loki magically had it disappear as her fingers touched it. Snarling, she held her sword to his chest.

"Give it to me, now!"

Someone was heard shouting at them in a different language in their direction. Loki looked to try and identify the source,, and sure enough, it was a few rogue elves. Their stark white face masks were impossible to miss. It was then an all-too familiar portal-like sound was heard behind them. Her eyes widened along with his. The TemPad was back in his hand in an instant, dropping them through yet another portal before the TVA squad that tracked them could get to them.
