I only own my OC, Taylor, I do not own Tess, or any of the Coraline characters.

The next day it was still raining, Taylor and Tess were in the kitchen, Coraline did asked her parents Mel and Charlie Jones if her new friend Taylor and her friend Tess if they can stay for a while, which despite being busy, accepted it. They see Mel working on her laptop, while Coraline was scratching her hands, which had rashes from the poison oak. Coraline soon said, while putting bags of seeds on top of the sink, "I almost fell down a well yesterday, Mom." Taylor knew that was sort of true, if it weren't for Wybie telling her she was standing on it.

"Uh-huh," Mel replied while working.

Coraline looked annoyed since her mother didn't care, but then she said, "I would've died."

"That's nice," Mel replied back, still not caring of her daughter.

"Hm," Coraline said, and then asked, "So, can Taylor, Tess and I go out?" Taylor and Tess knew they couldn't go out in the rain, Coraline then said, "I think it's perfect weather for gardening."

Mel looked up, shook her head, and replied, "No, Coraline. Rain makes mud. Mud makes a mess."

Coraline put her fists on her sides, and said, "But, Mom, I want stuff growing when my friends come to visit. Isn't that why we moved here?"

"Something like that," Mel replied, stopped working, and said, "But then we had the accident."

Taylor looked in confusion, and asked, "What accident?"

"It wasn't my fault you hit that truck," said Coraline.

"I never said it was," Mel replied.

Coraline folded her arms, and said, "I can't believe it." She soon scratched her rash, and said, "You and Dad get paid to write about plants, and you hate dirt."

"Hey sometimes parents have work to put food on the table, and pay the rent Coraline," Taylor said.

"Coraline, your friend is right, but I don't have time for you right now, and you still have unpacking to do." She moved the monitor of her laptop, and said, "Lots of unpacking."

"That sounds exciting!" Coraline said sarcastically.

"Really, in that tone, it sounds boring, come on Coraline, unpacking can be fun," Taylor said, getting a glare from Coraline.

"Oh. Some kid left this on the front porch," Mel said, giving Coraline something wrapped in newspaper.

Coraline unwrapped a bit of the newspaper. and found a note, Taylor and Tess looked at it as well, as the girls read it.

Hey Jonesy,

Look what I found in Gramma's trunk. Look familiar?
WybiE

Coraline groaned at the note, and unwrapped the rest of the newspaper, and found something that surprised Taylor and Tess, the doll that resembled Coraline that the Beldam made.

"Huh. A little me? That's weird," Coraline said.

"You have no idea, girl," Taylor muttered.

"What was that Taylor?" Coraline asked.

"Nothing," Taylor replied.

"What's his name anyway?" Mel asked.

"Wybie. And I'm way too old for dolls," replied Coraline, who walked out of the kitchen, with Taylor and Tess following her. Coraline then opened a door, and saw Coraline's father, Charlie working on an old computer. Coraline soon said, "Hey Dad. How's the writing going?" Taylor sees Charlie still working as if he didn't hear her daughter, then Coraline said, "Dad!"

Charlie looked at the reflection of the monitor of his computer, seeing the girls, and said, "Hello, Coraline, Taylor, Tess, and Coraline doll." He looked at back, looked a bit surprised of the doll.

Taylor was a bit surprised at the condition of Charlie's eyes, and said, "Mr. Jones, I know yours and Mrs. Jones' work is important, but I suggest you should take a long break, you look like you haven't slept in ages."

"I know, but this is important, if I finish this, maybe I can take a break," Charlie replied.

Coraline then asked her father, "Do you know where the garden tools are?"

"It's... It's pouring out there, isn't it?" Charlie replied Coraline with a question.

Coraline scoffs, then replied, "It's just raining."

Charlie then asked, "What'd the boss say?"

Coraline pointed her index finger up, grabbed the doll of her, shaking it, and saying in a tone as if imitating Mel but not really, "Don't even think about going out, Coraline Jones!"

Taylor and Tess chuckled a bit, even though that wasn't how it went, then Charlie said, "Then you won't need the tools." Coraline then groaned, since she can't go outside. She soon pushed the door, which squeaked, Taylor and Tess soon saw a mischievous smile, then moved the door back and forth, causing to squeak much to Tess, who's ears are sensitive, and Charlie's annoyance since he needs to focus on his work. He soon groaned, then said to Coraline, turning his chair, "You know, this house is 150 years old."

"So?" Coraline asked.

Charlie grabbed a small notepad and pen, then replied, "So you and your friends explore it. You three go out and count all the doors and windows and write that down on... List everything that's blue. Just let me work." He soon turned back to his computer, and went back to typing.

"He's right, at least we got something to do in the house," Taylor said. Coraline scoffed, and started unbuttoning her raincoat, turned and walked out of her father's office.

Coraline soon removed her Raincoat, threw it on the floor, revealing a pink shirt with maroon horizontal stripes, and began writing things down.

"Don't be so mad Coraline, your parents have work, and it is very important to finish it," Tess whispered, for she was doing her best to keep not to talk while in the presence of Coraline's parents.

Coraline glared at Tess, but then tripped, seeing the carpet in the hall was not on straight, so she stepped on it, but another bump formed on her, she tried to put the carpet on straight, then another bump formed between her legs, which she stepped on with both her feet, until two bumps were up, and she huffed in annoyance. Coraline soon wiped the fog off a window to make small hole for the Coraline doll, then she did the same for herself while Taylor and Tess did the same thing as well, and they all looked outside which was still raining. Coraline huff, then wrote on the notepad Charlie gave her, 'twelve leaky windows,' then a drop of water fell on the notepad, then Taylor said, "You got that right about it being leaky." Coraline soon took off her boots along the way, and walked upstairs in her socks, with Taylor and Tess following her.

Coraline soon opened a door, while holding the top of it, while, the girls soon enter the room, while leaving the Coraline doll in the hall, which would look like the master bedroom, then walked into another room, which was a bathroom. She soon opens the shower of the bathroom, then exclaimed, while dropping the notepad, "Ew!" Taylor and Tess see it, then winced in disgust as well, a swarm of what looks like silverfish crawling on the shower walls. Coraline then exclaimed, while squishing some of the bugs, while the others crawled away with their lives. Coraline looked at her hands, which was covered with the blood of the bugs, and she winced in disgust, she soon turned to the bathtub faucet, and grabbed one of the knobs to turn the water on.

Taylor soon noticed the small stake on the faucet is up, which meant water will come out of the showerhead, then said, "Coraline, I suggest not turning on the-," Coraline turned the knob, and put her hands under the faucet section where water comes out, but then brown water came out of the showerhead, making Coraline screamed, and then hit the stake down to turn off the showerhead, making the water come out of the faucet. "-water," Taylor finished her sentenced. Coraline shook the water off her hair, then Taylor said, "I suggest we talk to your parents to ask the land lady Mrs. Lovat about fixing the water." Coraline glared at Taylor.

Coraline soon began hopping down the stairs, she was two steps before making it back to the main floor, until she sees the bump again, which she jumps on it, making the carpet straight, but then a door opened by itself. Coraline opened the door, and she, Taylor with Tess on her shoulder looked in the room, and saw a water heater with a sign saying, 'HOT LOOKOUT." Coraline took out the notepad, and wrote down under '-12 disgusting! bugs -one rusty old water heater.' Taylor soon left the room, with Coraline behind her who pushed a switch to turned off the light in the water heater room. However this caused some static sounds, and the lights to flicker, while the girls heard Charlie saying, "No. No, no, no. No." Charlie then screamed, this made Coraline do an oops teeth face, and looked at the direction of where the screaming was coming from, and put a finger to her teeth, she ran back to the water heater room, with Taylor following her. The girls saw above the light switch a rolled up sign, which Coraline unrolled, and the sign said, 'DON'T PUSH!'.

Coraline pushed the button, which turned the light on, then closed the door. "Guess we better not do that again," whispered Tess. Taylor and Coraline nodded in agreement, and they walked away from the door, with Coraline putting her hands behind her shoulders, and looking up, as if to make herself innocent.

The girls look at the living room that had a fireplace, Coraline soon looked around, then put the note pad and the doll on a table with a box on it label via sharpie in cursive, '-mom's snow globes -living room.' Coraline took out one snow globe that said, 'DETROIT ZOO,' then shook it, looked at it, then grabbed another one, and put them on the mantle, then grabbed the last one, and put it on the mantle next to the DETROIT ZOO one. Coraline smiled at the snow globes, while Taylor said, "I told you unpacking was sort of fun."

Coraline smiled, knowing Taylor was right, then looked up at the painting on top of the mantle, which showed a boy who looked sad for his ice cream had fallen off his cone, and a bit of it was on his blue Sunday dress. Coraline, soon wrote on the notepad, while saying, "One boring blue boy in a painfully boring painting." She soon counted something with the pen, and said while writing down, "Four incredibly boring windows," she paused, then continued while turning around, "and no more doors." Coraline tried to grab the doll, but felt the surface of the table, then she looked, and notice the doll was gone. The girls soon looked around, while Coraline said, "All right, little me. Where are you hiding?" Coraline soon looked around, but then looked and dropped the notepad. Taylor and Tess looked, and saw the doll was at a wall with the lower half behind a wide box. Coraline looked in curiosity, walked to pick up the doll, until Coraline noticed something, and she soon asked, "Huh?" She pushed the box, which fell to the floor, but no crash, causing Taylor to sigh in relief knowing there was nothing fragile in it, but all girls looked at what looks like a small door that was sealed by the wallpaper. Coraline soon felt the door, then yelled, "Hey, Mom. Where does this door go?"

"I'm really, really busy," Mel replied from the kitchen.

Coraline looks and feels the keyhole, and said, "I think it's locked." The girls had no response, and until Coraline said, "Please!"

Taylor and Tess heard a groan from the kitchen, then they see Mel coming into the living room with a glare, and she put her fists on her sides, then looked at the sealed door, then folded her arms around her chest, and asked her daughter, "Will you stop pestering me if I do this for you?" Coraline then whimpered, then nodded with a puppy face look. Mel then said, "Fine," then walked away, Taylor soon followed her while Tess stayed with Coraline.

Mel opened the drawer with a lot of keys, moved them around, until Taylor saw Mel grabbed a key that the part where a key can go on a keyring was shaped like a button, which made Mel look at it in confusion, then both her and Taylor went back into the living room. Mel used a knife she also might've taken from the kitchen, then used it to slice open the outline of the door. While Coraline was looking at the door with excitement, Mel looked at the key, put it into the keyhole, and opened the door, which revealed a brick wall, much to Coraline's disappointment. She soon asked, "Bricks? I don't get it."

Mel sighed, and said, "They must've closed this off when they divided up the house."

"You're kidding," Coraline said, paused then asked, "And why is the door so small?"

"We made a deal!" Mel replied in an annoyed tone, then also yelled while putting her index finger and thumb near her mouth, and moved them across her mouth, "Zip it!"

Mel walked away, while Coraline said, "You didn't lock it." This caused Mel to exclaim in frustration. Then Taylor heard the key hit the bottom of the drawer, and Mel closing it. Coraline then looked at the brick door one last time, then closed it, and walked away.

Taylor however stayed, looked at the door, and whispered, "So this is where your lair is, you can try all you want, but I know better than to enter it, but I bet when I find out how, I will send Tess in there, and you can't harm her."

"Hey Taylor, you and Tess want to continue to help me look around?" Coraline asked somewhere.

"Coming," Taylor replied, and she with Tess on her shoulder went off to find Coraline.

Once again stopping here for this is where the scene ends. The girls found the lair of the Beldam, but Taylor remembered what Raleigh said in her last adventure, maybe next chapter, she can get a new ability, and send Tess to the Other World. Anyway, if you are reading this, thank you so much. If you want to know when the next chapter is, follow me or the story, write a review, but please no flames, add it to your favorites, and as usual, and if I get to it, the story will continue in the next chapter.
