Her eyes began to well with tears when thinking back to how she and Robin had gotten themselves into their current predicament. Lucina had always heard great things about the Tactician of Ylisse when she was little. She had always thought of him to be a dashing hero who saved the Shepherds from every seemingly inevitable defeat. However, that childhood crush she had for Robin was marred when she suspected the fact that he was the one who murdered her Father. Chrom, one of her loving parents, who trusted people too much for his own good. Who believed in the good of people regardless of what they had done. Chrom believed in the bonds between people, especially the bonds he had with his best friend, Robin. Her Father believed in the power of those bonds could overcome anything. Alas, he was wrong, for Chrom let his guard down and lost his life to his closest friend.

Lucina kept that anger to herself when she and her friends went back in time. She knew that one of her Father's friends was his killer, and Robin was one of the top suspects. Lucina put aside the feelings she had for the Tactician in the name of saving the future, for it was far more important than her own happiness. The Future was more important than anything else she could want. Besides, she knew there was no way Robin would ever harbor the same feelings for her. Lucina knew it was childish to cling to such a frivolous idea, yet those feelings never truly went away. When she faced her Father in the tournament within Regna Ferox, she saw Robin for the first time, and it made her heart flutter. Despite calming down, the incident shook her. Robin was far more handsome than Lucina had ever imagined, and those feelings, that childhood crush she had, began to take over. If she wasn't distracted by the possible harm coming to Robin by the assassin meant for Chrom, her mask may have still been intact, and her true gender would have never been revealed.

As if the Pelagian lamp was echoing Lucina's sentiment at the moment, the dwindling flame became Cornflower, or a shade of Blue close to Azure. Still lost in her trail of thoughts, Lucina's memories went to her time of revealing who she was to her Father and the commotion it caused with Sumia. It was also the first time she was very close to Robin, and it took all of her will-power not blush in front him. Lucina was worried about whether or not she was compromised, hoping that when she found her Future friends, it would strengthen her resolve to save Chrom. While it was relieving to see her future friends again as they were found, the dilemma broiling inside was not resolved. It was made even worse when she got to actually know Robin, worse in the sense that he harbored no ill-will towards anyone, especially Chrom. Lucina saw how much Robin cared for everyone, and did everything in his power to make sure Walhart was defeated without sacrificing anyone. Observing Robin closely only endeared him more to her, to everyone.

Maybe a part of her just wanted to be with him, to love Robin not as a crush, but as a significant other. When Lucina talked to Robin alone, she felt that he was someone who could understand her in way that no one else could. Perhaps some part of herself wished to be happy, and just seeing other people become happy and fulfilling their own dreams was insufficient. Back then, Lucina thought she was imagining things when Robin talked to her, like he hinted liking her and she hinted liking him right back. Fortunately, she was not imaging it. What a pleasant surprise it was, then, when Robin gave her wild Daises and confessed to being in love with her from the very moment he saw her! It was like a dream come true! But like all dreams, reality has a way of breaking them.

Lucina remembers how awkward it was for the two of them to tell Chrom and Sumia that they were in love, especially when Robin asked Lucina's parents for permission to marry her. They both dreaded the backlash of telling them the truth of their relationship, only to find out that they had nothing to fear. Everyone was happy to find out that Lucina and Robin were in love and getting married. After getting married, she felt like she was happiest person in the world! All of worries about the future seemed to evaporate. Ah, yes. If only fate was that simple. If only the Shepherds did not confront Validar.

Robin knew as well as anyone that Validar was up to something. However, no one could have expected what would have happened in Pelagia. Finding out that you are the son of a Grimleal would have shocked anyone. Find out that Validar wanted to resurrect Grima was not out of the ordinary, since many of the Grimleals were evil. Yet finding out that your Husband was under the control of your evil Father-in-Law would have been an immediate red-flag. Lucina remembers how despondent she felt upon seeing Robin give the Fire Emblem to Validar, how Robin tried to fight it, but it was for naught. She felt stupid for not seeing it earlier, realizing that Robin's nightmares were premonitions of what was to come.

Lucina at that moment has seen her greatest nightmares nearly come true. She realized her suspicions were correct, that Robin was Chrom's killer, yet she had allowed her feelings to cloud her judgement. Lucina remembers chiding herself for falling in love with Robin, for still having those feelings for him even after she narrowed down her Father's potential killers. Did she love Robin more than her own Father? During that moment, she did not. Lucina knew what had to be done to save the future. She never thought she would have to choose between saving the Future and the love of her life. A part of her wished she did not have to choose to kill Robin, for there was another way to save the future. If only Lucina had listened to that part of herself, maybe then she wouldn't have threatened to kill Robin at sword point. Maybe then Robin wouldn't have taken by the Grimleals that had followed them back to camp.

Lucina thought having to kill Robin was enough to break her heart. It did. However, her heart would have shattered if she had actually killed him. She was not a murderer. She was, unfortunately, sentimental. Lucina felt tears rolling down her eyes when reminiscing about being woken up after being knocked out by the Grimleals. The whole camp was looking for Robin and Lucina, with her parents fearing the worst. Lucina remembers how she felt telling everyone what had happened, about how she and Robin were distracted by her failed attempt on her husband's life. How she failed to protect Robin from being taken by the Grimleals. As if Fate was not punishing her enough, they had received news from Naga that Grima was resurrected at the Dragon's Table. If it seemed too coincidental, indeed, it was. At that point, she learned Robin was Grima's vessel all along.

Once more, the Pelagian lamp changed its hue, now becoming Amethyst - a shade of Purple. Lucina remembers this type of Purple, for it was the exact same color as the some of the stones in the ring Robin gave her when he proposed marriage. She remembers just staring at her wedding ring and crying her heart out in the middle of a field after hearing the news from Naga. Now, she had no choice but to kill her husband. Lucina could have sat out of the fight, but it would been wrong for other people to put their lives on the line to save the Future while she just moped. Especially when her Father rallied everyone around her. Was it not her only reason for coming back in time to save the world from Grima? Originally, it was. Now, she would have to save Robin from Grima.

Lucina remembers that the Shepherds were going to depart for Mount Prism the next day, and she was just trying to keep herself composed away from everyone else. She looked up at the sunset solemnly, thinking about Robin, when she thought she saw something. She originally thought she was a hallucinating, since she saw Robin right in front of her. Lucina remembers instantly becoming happy, despite how illogical it was for Robin to be with her right then and there. She ran toward him and wanted to embrace him, but then stopped before she went too close. It wasn't Robin in front of her, even though Lucina desperately wanted it to be him. Instead, she knew who it was. It was the one who caused her misery and suffering in the Future. It was Grima.

She remembers pointing the Falchion at Grima, who put his left hand up in peace. Before she could respond, Grima said she looked lonely, and it would not have been right to leave someone in pain. He knows how much Lucina loves Robin, and then asks her how far she is willing to go to get him back. She remembers saying that she would never join Grima willingly, but Grima stops her, saying to hear out his deal first. He said in exchange for not sealing him, Grima will allow Robin control of his own body every day when he close to Lucina so he can be with her. Since Grima now has access to his Dragon Body, he can temporarily separate his consciousness from his human host. Grima will also not attack anyone and stay in Pelagia for 60 years, or enough time for Robin and Lucina to live out their natural lives together and have a family. In return for this, Lucina will help Robin find Grima's origins, as Grima does not wish to be stuck in a host body, which he views as a weakness. She remembers Grima briefly allowing Robin to control his own body as gesture of good faith, and Robin expressed happiness at seeing his wife and stating he does not wish to be Grima. Grima then regains control, who expects Robin to resist less, if at all. Furthermore, the couple cannot leave Pelagia unless it pertains to finding Grima's origins, and no one is allowed to know they are in Pelagia. This is to make sure no one interferes with them, as Grima is unsure of whether or not Robin and Lucina can be trusted, since Grima will keep his end of the bargain. He swears it. However, Grima then tells Lucina she does not have to agree right away. Before he teleported out, Grima said Lucina has time to think about it.

She remembers back then feeling angry that Grima dared to mention her love of Robin in her face. She wanted to skewer him right there. On the other hand, Lucina thought it was strange that Grima was so chivalrous with her. Most likely, it was a trick to get her to agree with him. Nevertheless, something else was also bothering her. Was it actually possible to get Robin back? Lucina recalled how a part of her wished there was another way to save the Future without having to sacrifice Robin. Was Grima offering her that chance? Lucina pushed what Grima said aside at the time.

Lucina remembers going into the medial tent and seeing no one there. That is exactly what she wanted. Although she should not use healing staves to check herself for injuries, as that duty was for the healers, it was a habit she acquired during her time surviving in the Future. It was fortunate that she did, as it helped save the life of her little sister, Cynthia. Cynthia once accidentally got scratched by a thorny plant and brushed it off as nothing. Only when Lucina had forced Cynthia to check it with a stave did they find something wrong. Lucina remembered Brady berating Cynthia, as the plant she got scratched by was extremely poisonous, and poison could have stopped Cynthia's heart. After that incident, Lucina tried to avoid plants like the plague.

Like always, Lucina checked herself with a stave from head to toe. She was unsure of whether or not Grima had put a curse of her. While she was not adept in magic, the staves would still detect any remains of dark magic lingering on her. Lucina remembered the copious amount of times in the Future Inigo would feign illness so she would have to use a stave on him, just to get her close to him. Of course, it never worked. She never liked him beyond being friends, and even then that was a stretch. Lucina would always scold Inigo for wasting time, followed by Severa giving him a good slap on the face. Lucina let out a half-hearted laugh. She knows that it was improper to laugh at the pain of others, but for Inigo's case, he deserved it. The only good thing to come out of Inigo escapades was that it gave Lucina additional practice with staves.

Speaking of staves, she stopped the stave when she detected something close to her belly. She panicked. At first, Lucina thought it was dark magic from Grima. However, the more she thought about it, the more she realized it was something better. Lucina was pregnant with Robin's child! After being married to Robin, this would have been the happiest news in her life. If only she could tell Robin about it. If only she did not have to kill him. The news made her feel lachrymose about what she had to do. More importantly, how was she to tell everyone? If the Shepherds knew Lucina was pregnant, she would not be allowed to fight Grima, or even confront him. And if Grima found out about her being pregnant, she shuddered at what he might do, regardless of whether or not he offered a deal to her. Lucina had to keep it secret from everyone.
