The Pelagian lamp's flame flickered evermore, becoming barely visible and changing to Hazel, or a shade of Brown. Lucina continued her train of thoughts in the past, thinking about the tumult going on inside of her when the Awakening Ceremony was performed on Mount Prism. Her cousin, Owain, was attempting to cheer her up with his impressive vernacular. While she appreciated his sentiment, it did nothing to calm her. Then Chrom had asked her to do the Awakening Ceremony, but Lucina refused on the grounds that he was the leader in this time, as it was his duty to perform it rather than hers. This was a blatant lie, for she was unsure of whether or not the Awakening Ceremony would harm her unborn child. Plus, she was still undecided on Grima's offer, as blasphemous as it sounds. Lucina just wished she had more time to herself to think things through, a luxury she did not have.

Before engaging Grima's Dragon Form, the Fell Dragon's human form spoke. Grima put his left hand up, saying he hoped the Shepherds enjoyed their trip, as he did not send Risen to attack Mount Prism. This was true, as there was no fight for Mount Prism. Grima continued, saying the Shepherds are free to go in exchange for not sealing him. As another gesture of good faith, Grima got rid of all of the Risen surrounding the area. This surprised the Shepherds, as they believed Grima to be monster bent on endless destruction. Grima continues by saying the one thing the Grimleal do not like about their supposed God is that his own personality is influenced by the personality and state of his vessel. This is a fact the Grimleal keep hidden only to their upper echelons, for the Grimleal fear that their God may turn on them if Grima ever became good. The Grima in the Future was created from a broken Robin who did not have strong friendships, one who believed himself to be a monster. It was no surprise, then, when Grima evoked chaos and destruction on the world because his own vessel thought of himself as such. This time, however, Robin volunteered to become Grima if it meant less lives were lost in the process. Since Robin was different in this time, so too was Grima. Grima then pleads with the Shepherds not to seal him, as there is no guarantee the next vessel will be a good person like Robin.

It was then that Lucina realized what Grima meant by having a vessel as a weakness. He was susceptible to becoming whatever his vessel was. It was then she felt something for the Fell Dragon that she never thought was possible – pity. However, many of the Shepherds - especially the Justice Cabal – were not swayed. They still believed Grima to be evil. What if Grima was lying? Then the world would be doomed after they all died. But what if Grima was telling the truth? Grima seemed to just want to live his own life, like Robin wanted to with hers. Was the risk of too great to trust Grima? Lucina was unsure of her own decisions at that point.

With the first strike from Gerome, Grima revoked his agreement, bringing in Risen to defend his human vessel. The Final Battle had begun. Lucina could not blame Gerome, or any of the Justice Cabal for their decisions. She grew up with them in the ruined Future created by Grima, by another Grima. She saw how vile he was, how Grima's armies tore people and entire regions asunder. Lucina knew how hard it was to trust people when you don't even know how long they will live. But all of that was before she fell in love with Robin, who changed her world for the better. Now, she had more than just her Future friends, but family and loved ones. She had people who she could trust. Would she betray all of that to save the one person she holds most dear?

Her mind then raced to when Chrom became injured facing Grima, forcing Lucina to take his Awakened Falchion. She would not allow her Father to die again. But could she seal Grima knowing that it was possible to change him for the better? The only reason Grima was fighting so vehemently was for self-preservation, not for spreading evil. Also, her Father was not necessarily in life-threatening danger. Ironically enough, the Shepherds and Chrom were willing to die against someone because they, of all people, did not believe Grima had the capacity to change. But was Lucina biased due to her love for his vessel?

Robin briefly regained control of his body, urging his wife to deal the final blow and seal Grima. Even if it costs him his own life. Before going back in time, Lucina was absolutely sure she would kill Grima, or anyone who was the potential killer of Chrom. Yet now she was hesitant. Just like when she wanted to kill Robin after finding out he was Chrom's killer. Where did her resolve go? Lucina remembers closing her eyes as she held the Awakened Falchion in one of her hands, poised to strike. What would she tell her child about how Robin died? That she killed him even though it was unnecessary to do so? She was just unsure of what to do.

For a brief moment, Grima regained control from Robin. As Lucina opened her eyes, her normally steady hands were shaking. Before she could react, Grima teleporting both of them to a dark void, the shock of which caused her to drop her own non-Awakened Falchion behind on Grima's Dragon Body. No longer did she have the Awakened Falchion in a striking pose. With Grima now in control of Robin's body, Lucina for a moment felt utter dread. Was she wrong to trust Grima? Was this how she dies, because she hesitated due to love?

Grima then put his left hand up like before in peace. Lucina was unsure at the moment of whether or not Grima was still genuine in his change of heart. Perhaps Grima thought something similar, as he offered the same deal again to her. However, Grima did change the terms. No longer did Lucina and Robin have to stay in Pelagia, and they could tell everyone about what they were doing. In effect, the offer was even more in the couple's favor. Grima trusted them. Lucina heavily considered this, but a part of her told to refuse it. What about her love for her Father, or her Mother? Would they approve of such an arrangement? Did their approval even matter to her anymore? Part of her thought her parents would understand, but she was not sure of everyone else.

During her contemplation, Grima allowed Robin to regained control. Robin urged her not to agree because it would be selfish to choose saving him over saving the world, even if Grima was a changed being. The risk was too great to leave the Fell Dragon still intact in the world. Lucina then recollected asking Robin what he would have done in her situation. Was his love for her more important than anything else in the world? Because it was for her. While she did not tell Robin in that moment, Lucina also considered the happiness of their child. She remembered when first lost her Father, and how unhappy she was, yet that was nothing compared to the feeling of losing her Mother, too. She does not want the same feelings for her own child. Lucina did come back in time to change the future for the better, after all, and this included herself right now.

Even before Robin could respond, it was obvious that he was moved by his wife's unequivocal love for him. Grima again briefly took over, telling Robin to be honest with own feelings. Grima then says that Robin does not know what he would be throwing away by senselessly sacrificing himself. Grima wishes he could have a life like Robin, since until now, Grima never even had a choice in the matter. Grima continues that even if Robin had his previous memories, he knows Lucina would have still loved him anyway. Robin was lucky to find someone who loves him as much as Lucina, regardless of whether or not it was fate. Grima understands if nothing he says changes Robin's mind, shortly before giving Robin control again.

Lucina remembers sheathing her Father's Awakened Falchion, equally moved by Grima's plea to her husband. Robin must have had more influence on Grima than she thought, for if she did not know any better, it was a speech that Robin would have given to cheer her up. Though it was not necessarily the best decision, Lucina knew in her heart that this was what she wanted. She wanted to be with Robin, no matter what the cost. Robin must have thought the same thing, for then he embraced and kissed her.

After reuniting, both Robin and Lucina began to cry for they were finally able to be together. She recalled that they wanted the previous terms of being bound to Pelagia and not being able to tell anyone they were there. Robin and Lucina were not sure if they had the courage to face their former comrades again. Instead of taking over Robin's body, Grima gave the instructions to Robin on how to make a Blood Pact, which indeed required blood. Knowing that they would not be willing to hurt each other to get the blood, Robin and Lucina decided to cut themselves on the hand. For Robin, he cut himself with his Levin Sword. Likewise for Lucina, she cut herself with her Father's no-longer-Awakened Falchion. With the blood drawn, the deed was done. However, she made sure Grima first teleported the Shepherds off to safety before the couple heads to Pelagia, which Grima agreed and did immediately.

Just as Lucina is about to fall asleep with the lamp nearly burned out, she heard the door to the room creak open. She saw Robin quietly come into the room and close the main door. He then lifted the bed veil and kiss her on the lips, which made her giggle. It was arduous for Lucina to tell what Robin was wearing in the dim light, but she could make out his cloak. If she strained her eyes hard enough, she could maybe tell he was wearing a shirt and pants underneath it. Whether or not they were colored was an entirely different matter. Lucina just assumed it was his regular attire, the one everyone was accustomed to seeing him in. The same velvet, Black Pelagian cloak filled with the designs of the different dragons, colored different hues of Red, Purple, and Blue. The same simple, tan V-neck shirt that was probably over-stretched due to over-washing. The same pant that was slightly darker in color than the shirt, with stitches Lucina did to seal the tears and holes in it. The only noticeable difference in her husband was that his hair was not as messy as it normally was.

Lucina remarks the council must have kept him busy tonight, and Robin apologizes for being so late. Being rulers of Pelagia meant that Robin and Lucina had to endure hours of reports conveying the current situation of Pelagia. These reports were important, for they helped to make sure that every aspect of the country was accounted for. As glamourous as it may seem to be, being a Royal meant one had more burdens and responsibilities compared to their peers, even though many of nobility shirk their true roles for frolic and play. Lucina recalls her parents having to do something similar, but unlike in Ylisse, the Queen held equal power and responsibilities to the King. Effectively, the power was shared rather than held by one individual. This included setting up celebrations, and Naga knows she should not be in charge of dictating color palettes! Last week was the Celebration of the Queens, and the Celebration of the Kings was tomorrow. The council of Pelagia - who help take care of the administrative affairs - wanted to make sure the festivities were not ruined as it was from last year due to hooligans, complicating the logistics of the renowned Pelagian holiday.

Robin smiled and says it feels good to be free of Grima. She smiled back, saying Grima did not expect them to be able to separate Grima from Robin so soon. Lucina's smile turned into a frown because they found out that separating Grima from Robin also sealed the Fell Dragon, which made their endeavor to prevent Grima from losing himself all effectively for naught. Despite this fact, and much to their chagrin, Grima was fine with this since he managed to make the couple happy by letting them be together. This did mean the Blood Pact could never be revoked, essentially making the Blood Pact permanent. In other words, Robin and Lucina are never able to go back to Ylisse.

Robin then went to the other side of the bed, lifting the veil before he sat on the left side of the bed. He was careful not to disturb the crib on the left side of the room, lest Marc start crying again. When Marc starts crying, he almost never stops. Stubborn, like his parents. Robin smiled when looking at their baby boy sleeping in his dark blue clothes. At least he thought so, since that was the color of the clothes he remembered Lucina choose specifically for their son. It was absolutely impossible to tell in the near darkness, but Marc had his Mother's cerulean hair and eyes, as well as the Mark of the Exalt on his right foot. Robin still could not believe that he, of all people, was a father!

He remembered feeling jubilation when Lucina revealed that she was several months pregnant. It only made him happier when Marc was born, and being able to hold his son in his arms. Robin recalled seeing his newborn son's face and the innocence it exude. He wished that his Mother was alive so she could have seen her Grandson. There was so many memories that he wanted to have with his son, so things that he wanted to do! Robin wanted to be there for Marc in a way that Validar never was for Robin. Robin wondered if there was anything truly good about his Father that he could tell to Marc. Was Validar ever a good person? Was Robin himself not conceived out of love?

Once he was sure Marc was undisturbed, Robin then asked in lowered voice to Lucina if she ever regretted making Grima's agreement. Lucina turned to face her husband, contemplating an answer. With a relaxed face, she answered in a lowered tone, no. She got up and asked Robin the same question. Robin did not hesitate with his answer: never. Robin then lied down, turning to face his wife. He said deep inside, he feels guilty that they can never see their friends again, but at least they are able to help Pelagia for the better. Lucina lies back down, and faces her husband. She said she feels the same, especially with seeing her own family, but the Blood Pact does not apply to any of their children. Robin then asks Lucina whether or not she wants to have more children. Lucina responds it would be nice for Marc to have a little sister. Robin then jokes that when their children grow-up, Marc and Morgan should introduce themselves to the Ylissean Royal Family as Chrom and Sumia's time-traveling, amnesiac Grandchildren. Lucina chuckles. She then adds Marc and Morgan should bring along their respective spouses to make the situation worse, just as long as none of their love interests are philanderers like Inigo.
