Disclaimer: I don't own the series, Nickelodeon does.
Author Notes: Well my dear readers, this is the final chapter of the story, truth be told, I had a completely different idea in mind than what I ended up writing and I wanted to post this on Thanksgiving Day but sadly that wasn't possible, still, better late than never, am I right?
So do enjoy the finale.
Fair warning: Prepare to see a side of Tori that is going to make you question her sanity.
Jade went towards the garage where the cars were, she and Tori had decided early to simply use one of their vehicles, or more accurately the former Goth had decided for her wife, mainly to make sure she was safe as she's worried her spouse could get in some sort of accident if she mind wasn't on the road.
"Well Vega, let's get started." Jade said the moment she got into the driver's seat, we can divide our to do list to save time and maybe we can…. What are you doing?"
"Yeah that's nice baby." Tori said distractedly as she looked for an app on her phone. "Love you too."
"Well, clearly you didn't hear a word of what I said." Her spouse said with an eye roll. "Vega, put the phone down and listen to me… Oh crap! Never thought I'd be the one telling you that of all people."
"Just give me a minute." Tori replied. "I'm almost done."
"Almost done with what, Vega?"
The older woman soon got her answer as she saw her wife's phone app showing them their kitchen and more importantly what was happening inside.
"Vega!" Jade bellowed "What the hell?!"
"Don't scream Jade!" Tori shushed. "I want to hear what they're saying."
"You're spying on our son?!"
"No!" The Latina denied. "I'm spying on Holly, Tony and his devil girlfriend just happens to be in the kitchen with her… Big difference."
"When did you even set up a security camera in the kitchen?!"
"I didn't, you did." Tori replied ironically. "You were always so paranoid that either Danielle or Tawny would invite boys into our house."
"Oh… Right." Jade grunted. "I forgot about that."
"Anyway since we never took them down, I thought this would be the perfect time to bring the web-cams out of commission."
"Vega, there's no way this will end well." The Thespian said worriedly. "I get that you don't trust your mother but has it occurred to you that you're also violating our son's privacy?"
"That's funny coming from you." Tori laughed sarcastically. "You may have been a bit too overprotective when it came to our daughters, but this time I'm the one who is taking advantage of our security system because the moment Holly steps out of line, I'll know and there will be Hell to pay!"
"I sure hope you know what you're doing, Vega." Jade said evenly as she started the car and opened the garage door. "Just don't come crying to me when this blows up on your face."
"Jade, you wound me." Tori said with a dark grin. "You didn't think, the webcam was my only ace in the hole, did you?"
"What are you…?" The former Goth was about to ask. "You know what? I rather not know, this gives me possible deniability when this all goes to Hell."
"Have some positivity, baby."
"Ok, I will." She replied. "I'm positive that this is going to end very, VERY badly."
"Calladita te vez más bonita, Jade."
"Did you just tell me to shut up?!"
"Uhh… Maybe?"
"You know the rules Vega." Jade said. "You only get to tell me to be quiet when we're alone in our bedroom."
"Are you seriously bringing up our sex life right now?"
"You're the one that brought it up."
"NO I DIDN'T!"
"I hope I don't get full with the turkey." Jade said devilishly. "I do want to have space the midnight Vega special later."
"… Damn it Jade!" Tori bellowed. "Stop trying to get into my pants, this is neither the time nor the place!"
"You're hot, aren't you Vega?"
"NO!"
"I'll take that as a yes."
"I'm going to kill you if you keep this up."
"I see your boobs are up."
"JADE!"
"Hopefully this outta keep her distracted."
Once Tony and Emily no longer heard any screaming, both teenagers entered the kitchen, only to be greeted by the sight of a weeping Holly.
"Damn… Mrs. West really let her have it."
"Grandma… Are you ok?" Tony asked unsurely. "I'm sorry for whatever my Mom yelled at you."
"No, don't be Tony." Holly said sniffing. "I may not have liked what she told me but I needed to hear it, I know I'm not exactly welcomed here and given how your parents reacted to be being here, I'm sure I won't be getting a warm reception from anyone else when they come for dinner."
"I won't lie to you grandma, I don't think Aunt Trina or Uncle Gibby are going to be happy to see you." The teenager said truthfully. "But I can still put a good word for you to my sisters and cousins."
"I would appreciate that Tony." Holly said warmly. "Thank you."
"Don't thank him just yet." Emily interrupted seriously. "I mean from what I hear, you don't exactly have the best relationship with everyone that's coming so Tony can only do so much."
"Emily!"
"Oh don't look at me that way, you know I'm right." The blonde replied. "Look, princess, you know I love you and I get what you're trying to do here but you got to put your feet on the ground."
"What are you talking about Em?"
"Well… in a perfect world, your folks would forgive and forget and Thanksgiving dinner would be the stuff of fairy tales with everyone having a merry good time." Emily replied nervously. "But we both know that the world isn't perfect and if your parents are anything to go by then unfortunately for your grandma, what could be more likely to happen is that she would receive at best, the cold shoulder from some guests or maybe the evil eye and at worst, someone might try to kick her out because, to my understanding she isn't exactly on good terms with a lot of people, right?"
Holly frowned sadly while Tony took in his girlfriend's words.
"So, what are you telling me Em?" He asked with narrowed eyes. "That this is all a waste of time? That I shouldn't even try help my grandma? That it's better for my Mama to live with anger and resentment for the rest of her life?!"
"NO!" Emily denied. "That's not what I'm trying to say Princess! Far from it!"
"Then what's the point of your little speech?" Tony inquired coldly. "Because all I'm getting from you is that you don't think my grandma deserves a second chance."
"Ok, I may not have used my words correctly." The blonde admitted before she walked over to her boyfriend and firmly held his hands in hers. "Tony, I'm not trying to undermine what you're trying to do, I think it's admirable that you're trying to make your family whole again…"
"I sense a but coming…"
"… But… Let's say it doesn't work out and things end up being a lot worse than they were before." Emily replied seriously. "And I know, there's the possibility that things may be on the path towards healing, but what if they don't?"
"Don't be such a negative Nancy."
"I'm not being negative, I'm being realistic." She said. "Princess, I know you… If the worse comes to pass, you're going to blame yourself and I don't want those ideas to even enter your mind, so whatever happens during dinner, just be ready for anything because it's going to be out of our control."
Silent tears ran down Tony's cheeks, it pained him to admit it but he acknowledged that Emily had a point.
"I know… I know."
Without another word, Emily washed away the tears from her boyfriend's face.
"Just know this." She said. "I'm with you every step of the way."
"Thanks Em." He said gratefully. "I love you."
"Love you too princess." She said before giving him a kiss, something he returned in kind, then without a warning, Emily held Tony bridal style as their kiss deepened, he in turn held his arms around her neck for support.
All the while Holly awkwardly watched as the two teenagers were having a make out session, she also didn't know what to make of what she was witnessing because it was clear as day that her grandson wasn't the one who had the pants in the relationship and if anything it was his girlfriend who took care of him.
All Holly knew was that times were a-changing and the gender norms she once knew were outdated and the two teens were evidence of that as she witnessed Emily protectively hold onto her boyfriend who he in return rested his head on her shoulder after they finished making out.
Of course the trio was unaware that they were being watched.
Needless to say Tori wasn't happy by the "love show" she witnessed on her phone.
"Oh that devil girl just did that to get under my skin." The Latina thought darkly. "What my baby boy sees in her I'll never know!"
"That girl has a good head on her shoulders." Jade said impressed. "I know they haven't always had the best relationship, but Tony did picked a good girl."
"Jade!" Tori snarled. "You don't get to praise that devil girl! Just for that, you just made my list!"
"You got a list, Vega?"
"You're not the only one who can go and make a revenge list, West!"
"Oh this I got to see!" Jade snickered. "Come on, show me your revenge list."
"Is a short list. " Tori replied while getting something out of her purse."
"Vega this is just a napkin with Emily's name on it."
"That girl has been on my list of people I don't like since I met her!"
"One of these days you got to stop your dislike towards our son's girlfriend." Jade said with an eye roll. "Yes, she is a bit hard around the edges but she's really a nice kid."
"That's strike two!" Tori snarled. "Strike three and you'll be sleeping on the couch, Jade!"
The thespian simply shook her head.
"One of these days." She thought. "Tori, baby… Look, I know you're reluctant to give your mom a second chance, so am I but whether you like it or not, Emily made a very good point, when we have dinner tonight, Holly is not going to have a very good time, let's not forget we just learned she was going to join us this morning, how you think everyone else is going to react when they see the woman who kicked you out in out kitchen?"
"Knowing Trina?" Tori said evenly. "She probably would react worse than I did and wouldn't direct even one word to her."
"Case and point." Jade said. "Vega, I reluctantly agreed to a truce with Holly for the day but the whole thing falls apart if you don't at least try to be civil towards your mother, that's the only way for the healing to begin."
"Strike three; you're sleeping on the couch tonight!"
"Vega…"
"Fine… I'll try."
"You got to do more than just try." Jade said seriously. "Come on Tori, a long time ago you helped me fix with own relationship with my dad and I'm glad you did otherwise he and I would still be giving the other the cold shoulder, I just want to do the same for you baby, because A) I love you and B) You deserve to be happy but in order for that to happen, first you need to let go of the grudge against your mother, trust me Vega, I know better than anyone what it's like when you don't let go or your anger, learn from my mistakes baby."
"It took you years to forgive your dad." Tori pointed out. "And the circumstances were different."
"Be that as it may be, we were still able to bury the hatchet." The Thespian replied. "And so can you Vega, now I'm not saying you have to forgive your mom by the end of the day or even sometime soon but you owe it to yourself to at least be able to tell her one day, I forgive you, just like I did with my dad before he passed away, otherwise one day you could regret living in resentment."
"Why didn't you tell me this while we were in the house?"
"Hey, I may have decided to do a truce with your mom but that doesn't mean I'm going to give her the wrong idea that could make her believe that I'm on her side." Jade sneered. "She wants forgiveness? She has to earn it but that doesn't mean I'm going to keep quiet with my opinion on the subject, this is for your ears only because she can try but you also have to put in the effort as well baby."
"Damn it Jade!" Tori hissed. "Why do you have to use my own methods against me?!"
"Because I love you." She snickered. "And because I want to give you a taste of your own medicine, sucks doesn't it? When someone meddles in your life."
"I wouldn't consider it meddling as much as… Wait a minute! WHERE THE HELL IS SHE?!"
"Who?"
"HOLLY!" Tori bellowed, showing her wife her phone. "She's not in the kitchen!"
"Vega, relax!" Jade said. "She probably went to the restroom or something."
"Grandma?" Tony was heard on the phone. "Where did you go?"
"Oh, go figure." Tori sneered "The moment the kids are distracted, she decides to explore our house, I'm going to kill her when we get home!"
"For what?" The Thespian asked. "Vega, I know you don't trust your mom but you can't expect her to stay confined to the kitchen while we're away, I mean what could she possibly do?"
"I have my suspicions that she wanted into our house for a reason." Tori hissed. "I don't know what that reason is, but I do know she's never been one to think about anyone but herself! Even when Trina and I were in school, she used to make meals for herself and left my sister and I with nothing to eat!"
"Then why did you think it was a good call to let her stay alone with Tony and Emily?"
"To test her!" The Latina growled. "Tony may try to see the best in people and doesn't see how that can be used against him; I knew Holly would've tried to exploit our son's good nature, good thing I thought ahead."
"I don't like the sound of that." Jade said warily. "Vega… What did you do?"
"There's a reason as to why I allowed that devil girl to stay with Tony."
"Wait… You're telling me that you roped Emily into this?!" The pale woman asked incredulously. "Vega… WHAT THE HELL?!"
"I may not like that blonde headed demon." Tori said evenly. "But even I can see she cares for our son and will protect him and if Holly tried anything, I expect Emily to keep him safe."
"Tori… I get that you want to keep our boy out of harm's way but this?" Jade commented aghast. "This is insane! Even by my standards!"
"Just keep driving the car." Her wife ordered. "We still got quite a few errands to do but once we get home, I'm going to have a very serious talk with Holly."
"This is sooo going to end badly."
While the teenagers were making out, Holly decided that it was best to give them some privacy and walked into the West living room, she noticed several digital photos everywhere of both Jade and Tori at different stages of their lives, from when they graduated high school to when they traveled to Europe and even when they got married.
Holly grabbed the photo of the couple in their wedding day, a few tears began to form in her eyes, she recalled how she wanted to assist the ceremony but was detained as she wasn't invited.
Seeing her daughter's smiling face and Jade holding her lovingly in a one arm hug only seem to hit her hard on how much her hateful rhetoric and small minded beliefs cost her, she lost so many happy years with her family and for what?
"Nothing" She thought. "Nothing but loneliness"
Holly didn't even know she had grandchildren until she learned by online news that Jade and Tori had adopted Tony several years ago, she still had a printed copy of the news in her fridge as small glimpses provided by the media made it possible for her to know what was going on in her daughters lives.
And after David died, it eventually sunk in that she couldn't continue to wallow in self-pity because the longer she did nothing, the harder it would for her to fix her relationship with her children.
"Bless Tony's little heart for his help."
"Grandma?"
Holly jumped in surprise, almost dropping the frame photo; she however was able to grab onto it at the last minute before it smashed on the floor.
"Tony, please." She coughed "Don't scare me like that, my heart can't take surprises like it once did."
"Sorry grandma." He said with a small smile. "What do you have there?"
"Oh, I believe it's a photo from when your parents got married." She replied sadly. "They look so happy, I wish I could've been there so see Tori walk down the aisle."
"Why weren't you?" Emily asked. "I mean you could have explained thing and be allowed into the ceremony, right?"
"That's what I was hoping for but sadly, I couldn't even make it past the gate, some David's cop buddies were hired to prevent me from going in."
"Really?" Tony asked surprised. "Seems a little extreme"
"Well you got to see it from your parents' perspective princess." Emily said. "I mean they didn't know your grandma wanted to patch things up and even if they did, would they have believed her?"
"No… I guess not." He reluctantly agreed. "I mean my Moms aren't strangers when it comes to holding onto a grudge or even believe when someone is really sorry."
"I'll take your word for it." The blonde said. "I'm also going to make an educated guess and say that maybe they didn't want to let your grandma in for fear of ruining the wedding?"
"Couldn't blame them if that went through their minds" Holly said sadly. "I hadn't exactly given them any reason to think otherwise up to that point, I know I have no right to complain but I still felt like I got a slap on the face when they told me to leave."
"You know, there's no way for me to change the past grandma." Tony said with an uncertain smile. "But maybe there's a way for you to still see Mama going down the aisle?"
"What are you talking about Tony?"
The boy grinned before he walked over to the big Plasma screen in the middle of the living room, he searched for several minutes before coming across the DVD case he was looking for.
"Take a break and enjoy the show, grandma." Tony said once he put the disc on the DVD player. "Emily and I will continue cooking, we'll see in the kitchen in a while."
Tony then grabbed Emily's hand and walked away, leaving a puzzled Holly behind, that confusion however was short lived as the elderly woman soon heard "Here comes the bride" coming from the television.
Holly saw Tori walking down the aisle while Jade was eagerly waiting at the altar; happy tears soon began to run down her cheeks.
"Thank you Tony."
"That was very nice of you, princess."
"What can I say?" He shrugged. "I've been told more times than I can count that I inherited both my Mom's brains and my Mama's heart and in moments like these, I like to believe that's very true."
"Yeah, that's a nice way to look at it." Emily agreed. "But keep the sentimentalism to yourself, we got work to do and not enough time to do it, so we better get cracking before everyone gets here."
"Ah, right." He agreed as he clapped his hands. "Well Em, how are the Turkeys doing?"
"They're dead and not looking forward to put my hands up their asses."
"EMILY!"
Several hours later Holly kept watching the wedding video as the teenagers continued cooking Thanksgiving dinner; bittersweet tears ran down her cheeks as she saw Jade and Tori having their first dance as a married couple.
"I could've been there…. Should've been there."
Ding dong.
"Grandma, can you answer the door, please?"
Holly paused the video before walking over to the front door, taking a deep breath she opened the door, she was face to face with a family of four, the adults recognized each other while the kids were puzzled.
"What the…?" Tawny said perplexed. "Grandma?"
"Oh, hello dear, it's been a while since I last saw you." Holly greeted warmly, before looking at her great-grandsons. "And who might you two be?"
"I'm Matt." The six year old answered. "Who are you?"
The two years old Wally couldn't exactly talk just yet and simply babbled away, looking at the elderly woman curiously.
"Of course you wouldn't remember me." Holly said playfully. "Last time I saw you, you were just a newborn, and I'm your great grandma."
"Huh?"
"I'm your grandma Tori's Mom."
"Abuelita Tori has a Mommy?" Matt asked innocently. "Wait… Mommy, daddy, you guys can see her too? She's not dead, right?"
Holly frowned by that disturbing question that no young child should know.
"Yeah Mijo." Tawny chuckled. "We can all see her, she's not a ghost."
"A ghost?"
"Long story." Lukas replied this time. "So uh… Are you going to let us in?"
"Oh, of course, my bad." Holly said as she took a step back to let the family into the house.
"Grandma, please don't take this the wrong way but… What are you doing here?" The younger woman asked as she and her family sat down on the living room couch.
"Oh, your brother invited me for Thanksgiving dinner."
"Do Mom and Mama know you're here?" Tawny asked nervously. "I don't want my sons to witness something that could turn violent if they suddenly come through that door and see you sitting here like nothing ever happened."
"Yes, your parents know I'm here." Holly confirmed to put her granddaughter at ease. "I didn't exactly receive a warm welcome from them but after a bit of convincing they allowed me to join in the festivities."
"I see." Tawny said slowly. "And does anyone else coming to dinner know that you're a last minute guest?"
"I don't know." Holly answered "But I wouldn't be surprised if your parents already made a few phone calls to tell everyone of the situation, honestly I'm a little nervous, like I said, your parents weren't very happy to see me, I'm not sure how anyone else would react, my biggest concern is Trina, she has always been a bit… Difficult to get along with and when last I saw her, she was just about ready to call the cops on me, she never forgave me for what I told Tori all those years ago."
"Mama doesn't like to talk about it." Tawny said "We all know what happened and only because we saw you a few days after Grandpa's funeral, there were so many questions and so few answers."
"It was a difficult time." Holly nodded. "But eventually you all found out why Tori and Trina have so much anger and resentment towards me as well as to why Jade would love nothing more than to have my head on a silver platter."
"You can have heads on a platter?" Matt asked innocently. "Think uncle Tony will do that with the turkey?"
The adults silently stared at each other before Lukas took the initiative and decided to take his sons out to the backyard and play while the two women talked.
"Let me ask you think grandma." Tawny said seriously as her husband and children left the room. "Are you REALLY sorry?"
"I beg your pardon?"
"Are you really sorry for what you did?" Tawny pressed. "Or are you just here because you're hoping to get something out of this?"
"How can you ask that?" Holly asked in shock. "I'm as sorry as I could ever be! I just want my daughters back and the chance to be a part of this family again."
"You can't blame me for being a bit skeptical, grandma." Tawny said while crossing her arms. "Mama said that she gave you a second time a long time ago and you threw it away, so what changed now?"
"It's a bit complicated." Holly said. "But frankly, it was a number of things, but I narrowed it down to the fact that the moment I was kicked out of the family, I lost more than I ever imagined, I missed my daughters graduating high school, watching them go off to college, seeing them walk down the aisle, start their own families and so much more and for what? Because I couldn't accept Tori for who she was, if I could go back in time I would give myself a kick in the head in the hopes of fixing my mistakes, but that's not possible, I can't change the past… But I'm hoping I can have a better relationship with everyone before it's too late… I don't want to miss anymore in your lives for as long as I'm alive."
"Aww, grandma." Tawny said emotionally as she held the older woman in a warm hug, the first she had received from a family member in a very long time.
Holly cried tears of joy right then and there.
"TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF HER!"
Tawny and Holly jumped in surprise, turning to the front door to be greeted by the sight of an angry Tori West, Jade meanwhile tried to discreetly stomp over to the kitchen with as many items as she could carry.
"Just walk away and don't look back." She thought. "I know this isn't going to end well."
"Mama!" Tawny greeted. "Happy Thanksgiving! You ready for dinner?"
"Mija, think you can give Holly and I some privacy?" Tori asked ominously. "I have something I need to talk to her about."
"Is it going to be a good talk?" Tawny asked worriedly. "Not a violent one?"
"We shall see."
"Mama… I think you should…"
"TAWNY! I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE US!"
The younger brunette was speechless, she had never been talked to with such ferocity by her mother, but nevertheless she said nothing and left as quickly as her legs would allow her.
"Victoria! What was that about?"
"I want you out of here right now!" Tori snarled. "Grab your coat and get out!"
"What? Why?" Holly asked confused. "I have been following your rules since I got here."
"Who the Hell gave you permission to look over my stuff?!" Tori bellowed as she pointed an angry finger at the television where the paused video was still visible when Trina had grabbed her sister's bouquet.
"Tony put it on for me to watch." Holly explained. "I wasn't snooping, he just saw me looking over a photo of your wedding day and thought it would be a nice gesture if I could have a view into the past and more importantly, what I missed because of what I…"
"You're just a broken record by this point!" Tori hissed. "Yes, we all know how you hurt me but you haven't done squat to fix it!"
"Because you won't let me get near you Tori!" Holly snapped. "If your children and even your wife are willing to give me benefit of the doubt, why can't you? What are you afraid of?"
"Afraid of?" Tori parroted. "That's a bold accusation! Don't think you can make assumptions about me as if you know me, you DON'T know me!"
"You're right, I don't know you." The older woman agreed. "But that's why I'm here, I want to get to know my daughter once more, but that won't happen if you keep me at arm's length!"
"Has it ever occurred to you that there's a reason for that?!" Tori hissed, angry tears running down her cheeks. "You haven't given me a fucking reason to trust you! You were my mother damn it! And you held that love and trust I once had for you in your hands only for you to smash them into itty bitty pieces till there was nothing left but rejection on your part!"
"Don't you think I know that?!" Holly cried out desperately. "I know I messed up! Everyday I'm reminded of the fact that I can't call you or your sister because I knew you two wouldn't pick up the phone, so many times I wish I could've had a nice Sunday lunch with my daughters and it specially hurts that I never got to see my own grandchildren grow up, I ended up losing more than I ever thought possible and why? Because of my stubborn ways."
"Am I supposed to feel sorry for you?"
"I know you're angry Tori." She sniffed. "But please, don't hit me while I'm down."
"Oh like you slapped me when I was down on the floor all those years ago when I first came out?!" Tori snarled. "Why the hell should I give you a hug and a second chance when you hit me at my most vulnerable?"
"I was wrong!" Holly bellowed. "I'm sorry!"
"Sorry doesn't change the fact that you called me an accident!" Tori said angrily before grabbing a random glass and threw it to a wall. "What kind of a mother says that to her own flash and blood?"
Holly said nothing to that, she however lowered her head in shame.
"What?" Tori sneered. "Nothing to say?"
"Nothing you haven't already heard." She whispered. "Tori, I know you don't have it in you to forgive me right now, you made it perfectly clear just how much resentment you have towards me and I can't blame you for that but if you have it in you to give me the time of day to earn your love back, I would be very thankful."
For the longest time the Latina kept quiet, she didn't even dared to give her mother a glance, something which Holly misunderstood as a cold rejection.
"I better go." Holly said melancholically.
"Stay."
"I'm sorry?"
"I say you can stay." Tori repeated. "You're right; I just can't accept your apology right now but… I want to… I just don't know when or if I can."
Tori then started weeping; she just couldn't hold it in any longer and opened the gate that she had kept locked for so long.
The first thing Holly did was to walk over to her child as fast as her legs would allow and held her as she cried.
"Like I should've done when she was younger."
Both mother and daughter held each other as they cried over their lost time and what is to come for them.
Jade, Tawny and Tony discretely watched over the scene that was taking place.
"Well little brother, I can say you made a good call by inviting grandma for Thanksgiving dinner." Tawny said approvingly. "Looks like there's hope for them yet."
"You made me eat my words son." Jade commented "It was quite tense in there but they needed to talk things out."
"Not going to lie, I was afraid this was going to blow up in my face." Tony replied. "I'm still a little mad that Mama had to go as far as to spy on us."
"You're not going to tell her that I told you about that, right?" Emily asked somewhat fearfully. "I don't want to give her another reason for her to hate me."
"For the last time Em, my Mama doesn't hate you; she just doesn't like you very much."
"That doesn't make me feel any better, princess!"
"Don't worry Em, as far as I'm concern, I'm going to chalk this as middle age crazy." Tony shrugged. "Besides, I don't want the whole resentment cycle to start again with me and Mama, right in the living room is evidence of what happens when issues are left unresolved for years and I don't want history to repeat itself."
"That's a very wise way to look at this, Tony."
"Thanks Mom." He said. "Things may not have gone like I'd hoped but at least Mama and Grandma can start healing."
"I can't argue with results." Jade said as she looked at her wife and mother in law hugging it out. "By the way, how's dinner coming along?"
"The turkeys are just about done."
Hours later the entire family (and friends) had arrived to the West household and everyone was ready to eat.
Once everyone had his or her plates, Jade took her seat next to Tori, who surprisingly took a sit next to her mother.
"Well," Tori said as she began cutting the turkey closest to her. "It all looks good; I think everyone should give a round of applause to our young chefs."
"Mama stop!" Tony said blushing. "You're embarrassing me!"
"Red is a good color for you princess."
"Emily!"
The blonde snickered playfully.
Tori gave a piece of the turkey to her mother, who accepted it gratefully, the Latina then began to give everyone else their own piece of the bird.
Everyone was eating like there was no tomorrow, except for Matt who didn't even dared to touch his turkey leg.
"What's up Matt?" Jade asked her grandson. "Why aren't you eating?"
"I can't grandma." The young boy replied.
"Sure you can!" Jade said. "You don't even need forks, you can just eat it with your hands.
"No… I really can't!" Matt said a bit more firmly. "Two turkey ghosts are staring at me and they're not happy that everyone here is eating them."
"My great-grandson has some imagination." Holly couldn't help but chuckle. "Maybe one day I'll get to babysit him."
Thanksgiving was a time to be thankful for what you have and on this day Holly was thankful that she got what she wanted for a very long time.
"A Second chance."
Well my dear readers, this is the end of the story, I know it might now have been the best way to finish it but honestly I wanted to bring upon some unresolved issues Tori may still have with her mother and there's still a lot that needs to be fixed between them but the first step was taken and while Tori still can't forgive Holly she's willing to put in the effort.
Now I know some of you may not have liked that Tony could simply brush over the fact that Tori was spying on him but honestly he did that because if any of you remember, in the first he said to Tori how much it hurts Holly to have her own child to give her the cold shoulder and Tony doesn't want that to happen between him and his parents.
Also, I guess I should point out that Tori is afraid of her mother hurting her again, which explains why Holly asked her, what she was afraid of.
On a final note, in this chapter there were several throwbacks to some of my other Jori fics, like "The Big Jori Day" since Holly recalls how she wasn't invited to the wedding and finally saw the video in here, in "Outbreak" Holly slapped Tori, in "Down in the Dumps" how Holly tried to make amends and in "One for the Road" the slow road to recovery Tori took when in despair.
Thank you all for reading and I'll see you all in my next Jori story.
