"Hey Violet, how's your day been so far," Franklin greeted in the hallway.
"Oh same 'ol shit, different day."
"We still on, right?"
"Yes Franklin, we are still on. Promise."
"Coo. I told the guys and they got me all pumped up. We get to chill, just the both of us, well I guess your servants too, or something. Might be nice to hang with you outside of one of your parties."
Violet got lost in his brown eyes for a second, "Oh… the staff is off today."
"So it really will be just us, huh? Aye, gotta get to class, meet you at your place after school?"
"It really will be just us," she repeated.
"Umm… that's what you said," he looked confused, "Violet, yo."
"Sorry! I just…. Yeah we can right after school, yeah."
"Aieght Violet," he laughed.
"What is with all the guys getting so violent these days," Frieda asked at the lunch table.
"Linus hadn't fought anybody, neither has Schroder," Patty replied.
"It's only a matter of time. Charlie fought for Lucy, Franklin fought for Violet, I think their hormones are raging."
"For fucks sake, Frieda," Lucy sighed, "you jealous Schroder hasn't been in a fight?'
"She wants her man to fight for her love," Violet joked.
"My man doesn't need to fight for my love; it was there for him to find," she retorted.
"He is kinda scrawny compared to the other boys, he certainly isn't built like my Linus."
"My brother is on his way to looking like Seth Rogan's twin," she scoffed.
"Well I like him."
"I wish I could've seen Franklin fight, I bet Shermy never even stood a chance," Frieda blurted.
"It happened so quick, I was frozen, he was like a beast, all over him."
"Give us the details," Lucy asked.
"Well I thought I thought I was quick enough to catch him, I pulled up as he was walking to the door. They talked a little, then Franklin punched him in the face, Shermy pushed him out the doorway…"
"I don't think you could've stopped the fight," Patty figured.
"So they started throwing punches, he was yelling for him to leave me alone, Franklin slammed him in to his Tahoe, started kneeing him in a chokehold, then he picked him up and slammed him on the ground!"
"Holy shit," Frieda yelled.
"Yeah, I was stunned. I didn't know he was capable of fighting that raw. Three and Four ran out the house, I left after that, I didn't want him to see me like they did."
"None of us has ever seen him fight. Boy did he go all out over you," Frieda claimed.
"She can reward him, when he gets over her house today," Patty smiled devilishly.
"Uh-oh Violet," Frieda teased.
"What? No uh-oh, there's no uh-oh."
"Right, we got virgin ears over here," she laughed.
"Frieda, you bitch," Lucy glared.
"We're just going to talk, that's it! Nothing more."
"You don't sound excited," Frieda noticed.
Violet is pacing around the house trying to think of what she should do before he shows up.
"Should I sat out some snacks, drinks, or something," she thought, "okay calm down Violet, don't hyper-ventilate, it's not that big a deal."
She runs to her bathroom to freshen up a bit and hears the doorbell.
"Fuck!"
She runs downstairs to the front door, a little hesitant to open it, the doorbell rings again. She takes a breath, opening the door.
"Whassup, I got some pizza from Quincy's, didn't know if you were hungry or not."
"Oh that's fine… yeah, um I got stuff to drink," she stood there.
"We goin in?"
"Sorry," she gave an embarrassed laugh, "c'mon in."
She lead him to the kitchen, opening the fridge, "take your pick."
"Your house is still impressive, every time I see it," he grabbed a cream soda Faygo, "lotsa Faygo selections in here."
"I buy the soda and it's cheap," she chose a Rockin Rye.
"So, did you enjoy the fight, he got me good once or twice, but I got'em," he smiled.
His smile almost made her melt, "I tried to catch you, to stop you, I just… I've never seen such a thing."
"Yeah, not really my style, for real. I just couldn't let it go. I get it; a lot of chicks are cute, just pick one, or if you aren't monogamous, find people to match with and be honest."
"I agree."
"You're… actually pretty cute yourself, you can be a bitch, but you didn't deserve that, I think you deserve better. He wasn't for you Violet, leave him to the twins."
"You think I'm cute," she choked on a slice.
"Sure," he patted her on the back.
"I'm just surprised, is all."
"I figure we're all getting older, changing, make the best of it. Even you're getting nicer to Charlie since he started dating Lucy… you even helped."
"We are growing up, aren't we?"
"Yeah. Why fight trying to be the same kids, it ain't gonna work. Even Pig Pen has cleaned up, Frieda doesn't annoy the shit out of us, talking about her hair, Schroeder plays other instruments and music."
"I can't believe I didn't notice."
"Yep. After Patty told me your lil secrets, I was curious about you… girl, you've been frontin' this whole time."
"Not the whole time! Plus some of that is my parents; we have an image."
"Does Tapioca or Frieda have an image, they're wealthy."
"Have you met Frieda," she smiled.
"Right," he laughed.
"Um, what did she tell you?"
"Let's just say; that you aren't a snob, and are more my speed. Maybe."
"Should I be scared?"
"You should be real. Especially if you're trying to date this ninja."
"She didn't say I was trying to date you, she knows better."
"Yeah, I added that last part,' he laughed.
"So that means you want to date me… interjecting your own fantasy?"
"Aieght Dr. Freud. I might wanna date you, not the youth rep of Gray Industries."
"The real me."
"I bet she hides in your forbidden bedroom," he took off.
"What! Get back here!"
"I don't wanna chill in the kitchen all day!"
"You don't even know where it is!"
"Right," he stopped in his tracks.
"My room, don't judge me," she opened the door.
Franklin looked around, "Uh-huh… that's why you got cases of Faygo."
"I just like Faygo."
"Nah, you a 'Lette," he points to her framed Joker cards, and Violent J & Shaggy 2 Dope poster.
"I'm not a Juggalette."
"It's okay, I'm down with the clown."
"Be real, be honest," she said to herself.
"Whoop whoop!"
"Whoop Whoop," she snapped back, "damn it, ya got me."
"You like Hopsin?"
"Fuck yeah I do. I just can't enjoy too much of any of it, my parents won't like it, and will get on me for being a part of a 'gang', plus my friends hate the music."
"You sure don't dress like the Jugallos and 'lette's I know. Your whole closet probably cost more than my house…. All that fancy stuff."
"Most of my 'fancy stuff' is bought by me at the mall. The real fancy stuff my mom buys when she has the urge for a mother daughter day," she walks to her closet, "then there's this stuff."
Franklin walked towards the back of her closet in awe, "I'd rather see you in this stuff!"
"I haven't worn any of it, I'm too nervous."
"I wanna see you in that stuff, I bet you're bangin. You gotta live your life eventually. Beside, who's gonna wanna fight me about it," he smiled.
"Big, strong ninja, huh," she laughed.
"So what do you at home; other than tea parties and brunch?"
