Chapter 7

"For god's sake Klaus when will your quest for power end?!" Elijah yelled with authority after listening to the ridiculous plan his brother hatched.

"I'm simply taking back what is mine- what is OURS." Klaus smirked calmly.

"No- I won't stand for anymore wars. Aren't you tired brother? Our sister and brothers have scattered around the world because they are tired. You unleashed your hybrid side already. KILLED sweet Elena Gilbert – which you know- "Elijah shook his head as if it could shake the feeling away and make him forget the toll that it took on him. He moved on knowing it didn't matter to his brother. "What happened to family? What happened to always and forever? Or did you forget that in your desperate attempt for power?"

"I've grown tired of this town. I want to go home." Klaus shrugged lightly as if he was simply talking about how the weather.

"If we're speaking factually, Mystic Falls is home." Elijah challenged.

"That will never be home." He grumbled

Elijah sighed.

"Brother – help me win New Orleans back for our family – then the wars will stop."

"And what of the ring leader hmm? If the almighty Klaus wasn't able to find out what vampire is running the town what makes you think he can be brought down?" Elijah laughed sarcastically.

"My witch is enroute to let us know their identity as we speak." Klaus smirked

"This is the last time I help Niklaus. I will not partake in bloodshed. I want to live. I've spent so long sacrificing to get rid of the bindings mother put on you but now that mother and father are gone I want to enjoy life. This is the last time I sacrifice my life for your wims Niklaus." He pointed confidently at Klaus.

"The last time. After that you are free to play piano in run down pubs or paint naked French ladies or whatever it is that your heart desires brother." He laughed mockingly.

Elijah shook his head. Always and forever was a bitch sometimes.

"Ahh my sweet Celeste." Klaus walked over and purred kissing his witch delicately on the hand as she curtsied gently walking in slowly. "You brought good news I hope?"

"I wouldn't dream of showing up if I didn't." She flirted.

"Well who is it then?" Klaus smirked, ready to hear of the poor fool he was about to kill.

It turns out he was in fact not ready to hear this name.

"Marcel Gerard." She smiled coyly knowing their history. It wasn't a secret between the witches.

"Marcellus?" Elijah gaped. "He didn't-"

"Die? No. Marcel has been running the quarter since the day the lot of you fled. Cocky asshole if you ask me. I was speaking with my auntie. Things have been bleak for the witch community. I come to you with this information with faith that you will make things right. Free our community from vampire reign Klaus Mikaulson."

Not more than a second had passed when Klaus fell to the ground limp.

"What did you do?"

"Nothing." She gasped. "What happened?"

"You expect me to believe that the second you make proclamations my brother falls unconscious?"

"I swear I-" She stopped as she kneeled down to put her hand on his head to channel him but stopped when his eyes shot open, grayed over.

"Let fate play out." Klaus mumbled robotically before slumping over unconscious again.

"What?" Elijah asked Celeste directly, confused.

"It's a message from the ancestors." She looked up at him in awe.

"And what pray tell does it mean Celeste?" He stalked closer, more menacing.

"I don't know…" She stood up and dusted off her skirt. "But I think you may get your answers in New Orleans."

"New Orleans it is." Elijah grumbled.
