Chapter: Team of Light

Luz, Jett and Katrina walked down a hallway, before they appeared in front of a large door. The human girl looked up, seeing the logo - celtic balance symbol, chaostar and starburst all together above the door.

The three of them then opened the doors, and strolled into the big conference looking room as the doors closed behind them. Ahead of them, was a big long table that had the Council of Four sitting behind it. Their shared expression calm and unreadable.

"Jett, Katrina, Luz." Aisha said as the teenagers stood before the four of them.

{"I trust that Clawthorne duo has explained to you all the reason why we did this."} Khonvoum spoke to the girl in his foreign tongue, one Luz never heard and she was the only one here not understand. So, Katrina have translated the question for her.

"Yes."

Dion was tapping his fingers together, as he said "Then you know what we offer you."

"Yes."

Sidon was leaning on his fist, as he asked "And what is your answer, Luz Noceda?"

"Quiero hacer lo ayudar proteger magia!" Luz said with a series glimmer in her eyes. "Seria será un honor unirme a tu Orden."

"I think you're so excited, you mixed up your languages." Aisha said calmly, "Try again in something we can understand."

"I definitely want to join the Order." said Luz, firmly.

Dion nodded, and Luz brightened.

"Jett. Katrina." he looked at them, "You are convinced that this young human lady is person you choose to your team?"

"Yes." Both Jett and Katrina said at the same time.

"Well, in that case, we wait for you in the Hall of Legends." the shaman stated as the Council of Four walked out of the room, the door opening for them as they left.

"Now, you're to come with me." The trio's heads slowly pivoted around to face 2'oclock, surprised with an unfamiliar voice next to them.

"Team name?" All teenagers were staring at Jenkins - the basalts gargoyle with blue eyes who was responsible for formal requirements in the Order of the Keepers.

As it turns out, Luz Katrina and Jett had to face the hard challenge before they could official joined the Order of the Keepers.

The paperwork.

After completing a dozen of forms for two hours; Luz was bored, Katrina was tired and Jett wanted to scream.

Jenkins sighed before explained firmly.

"Yes, each team must provide the following information: members of the team (name, surname, age, species) and team name. So let's hear it."

"We don't have a name yet." Luz told him.

"A banal name, but it's your choice." Jenkins teased lightly.

"It wasn't team name." Katrina sounds more irritated than entertained at his comment.

"Then you have five minutes to pick a name."

Jett cupped his chin in left hand, "How about 'The Trio of Mischief-makers'?"

"I'm not mischief-maker." Katrina commented.

"You are Clawthorne."

"And proud of it, but still I'm not mischief-maker."

Jett sent a smirk in the direction of his cousin, "Whatever helps you sleep at night, Red."

"Oh!" Luz raised a hand with a huge smile, bouncing like a little child. "What do you think of Azura's Alpha Kitten Team?"

"Veto!" protested Jett as he looked disgusted by the name. "The name must be cool and match us."

After a moment of thought, Katrina said, "I have a suggestion. Team of Light."

"Not so cool like my idea... but I like it." Jett turned to the human girl, "Luz?"

Luz nodded her head in agreement, "I votes yes."

"So?" Jenkins asked, tapping the form.

"Team of Light." They all said.

The gargoyle nodded, and frowned at the form. With great care, he put a name into the little blocks.

"So, what's next?" Katrina asked.

The gargoyle glanced down at the paper on the desk, then looked up again.

"Okay, this is the last one."

"Thank Titan!" Jett raise up his hands to ceiling, making girls giggled.

Jenkins continued like he hadn't heard the teen at all. "A team photo to the archive. Stand over here."

The trio get together for a picture.

"Ready?"

"Yes."

"Three, two, one,"

*Snap!*

There was a flash as their photo was taken by the living camera demon. And everyone huddles around the professional to see the results.

Trio of teenagers look good, in the picture. Jett has this typical smirk that suggested he thought of himself as the most important person anywhere, Katrina has light smile on her red lips, and Luz stand between them with big smile far outshines everyone else's.

"You may now proceed to the Hall of Legends." Jenkins said as put team name on photo and then put it and all necessary papers in ring binder file.

"Wow." Luz whispered as they stomped through the Hall of Legends.

The magnificent room had seemed remarkably bright even though there were no windows and no lamp for illumination. Maybe bacause the diamonds. All around them, from top to bottom, back to back, side to side, were thousands upon thousands of beautiful white-gold diamonds. Surrounding all across the walls, Luz could turn and watch ten or twenty diamonds sparkle in every direction.

"They skimped on the lighting." Jett commented.

Then torches light up to show even more of this place, inter alia: the rock floor that looked as if it had been sandblasted smooth, crystals pillars, several realistic statues on the both side of them within the walls, and the high arched ceiling enchanted to showing the image of sky bled into a multitude of colours as if chalk had exploded in the air and it's dust fluttered lazily about along an unseen breeze.

'I don't have a better word than 'wow',' Luz thought, 'So I'm just gonna say 'wow' again, but louder.'

"Wow!"

All four pairs of eyes slid onto teenagers. The Council of Four was waiting for teenagers with a large book floating in front of them

The book had a navy blue cover with gold reflective pages separated by a dark burgundy ribbon, and had golden borders with a large white gem on the spine. The front cover was emblazoned with a Circle of Logres seal encircling seal of Morgan Le Fay, along with a few star-like symbols.

"This is the Chronicle of Keepers an ancient artifact kept for centuries, used as a signing book for the masses of all entities to seal in their deal with the Order, pledging to protect magic and balance between both realms, and comply with the laws of keeping this duty in secret from the uninitiated." Dion explained as the book opened by itself.

"Many people," said Luz as she looked at how many times names had been written over in the book.

"Put your name in on the top of the blank paper." Sidon instructed them.

Katrina being the first to sign her name. Her writing is sharp and elegant. Then she pass Jett a fountain pen. His signature is similar to the logo of the metal band. And then Luz wrote her name on the page, simlpe sign with a small picture of cat in anime style.

However, when the ink was dry, both witchlings and the human teen were enveloped by a golden light.

"What just happened?" asked Luz as the light faded.

"I think we just got membership cards," Katrina said as she picked up three quill pens off the ground. Their names carved into the quill.

"Wow," Luz said as she and Jett held their quills, looking at the beautiful glass feathers that was as thin as a normal feather.

"As of today, you're the Keepers of magic." Dion said as he waved a hand over the book, causing it to vanish.

"Just one more thing."

Aisha drew a spell circle, changing a little Jett and Katrina's clothes. The boy now had a magneta color star symbol on front his jacket that looks a bit like the patch, while the red head had the same style star patterns in a mint-white color on the side of her dress.

Then woman extended her hand towards Luz, a small box with a silver ribbon tied on it appearing in her hands. And she handed it to teen. The girl opened it and pulled out a necklace with a silver colored chain and a star (like that on her friends' clothes) in triquetra style at the end that was half silver and bright white.

"Welcome to the Order of the Keepers, Team of Light." Dion, Aisha, Sidon and Khonvoum voices echoes off the walls and it sounds so pretty and officially.

Else where in the human world something else was going on right near a giant lake was a handsome manor house and there was a very unusual office in which someone was working.

This was a man. On the right side of his face there was a huge scar, partially covered by a pair of sunglasses. Sunglasses and atypical facial features makes his age impossible to determine. His combed-back hair were impeccable like his white suit and a gold tie.

He sitting at a huge mahogany desk. On his desk lay a half of round stone of the color grey. At the middle was infinity symbol. Dotted around it were symbols written in mystic runes.

The man's eyes were turned to the book just next to this stone. The book was a navy blue colour with a gold binding and clasps. It had gold corners, and a rune etched into a gold seal on the front. Every word of this book have been written in the foreign language.

Yet, the man didn't seem too worried about that. He slowly turn the pages with gentleness and sensitivity, writing in small journal with his other arm.

A thick silence in a room that fills up the space was interrupted by sound similar to ringing phone.

The sound to come out of some sort of pendent with the symbol. It showing the detailed symbol of crossed-out demonic eye inside the circle made of snake eating its tail on the back.

The pendent popped open all of a sudden. It was almost like a small communication screen. On the screen was a mystery person standing in the shadow, revealing any of their body besides the lower portion of their face.

"Sir, I have an important message for you." they said, bowing, "On the Boiling Isles is human."

"Why do you think it's worth interrupting me at my research on the Dominus Librium?" The man in suit didn't bother to look up.

"It isn't normal human."

The suit man looked over at person hidden in shadow, who shrunk under his gaze. "So what's so unusual about the human?

"This human can use magic."

The gold fountain pen a man had been writing with was beginning to leak out dark blue ink across the paper due to its holder keeping it in place. It took a half minute for a response to come out as a low voice that has no tone.

"What kind of magic?"

"From what we've observed, she used a glyphs powered by the wild magic."

"Who's that human?"

"Luz Noceda. But that's not all, the Council of Four decided to let her entered into the Order."

"Interesting." He said as a kind of magic sparks twinkle in his eyes which illuminates his face with a delicate cold blue glow. "Very. Very interesting."
