(A/N: Now we're at Chapter 14! This is where Bruce and Katrina will have their baby, and remember, they found out that they're having a son, for they told Dudley and Kitty about that the day the triplets were born. I know you want to read it, so I'll get it going for you!)
It was still fall in the city of Petropolis. The weather had gotten cooler than it was, and the leaves were starting to fall off the trees. But we haven't the time to stand around and admire the fall scenery. Bruce and Katrina are on their way to the hospital, so we might wanna join them.
At this time, Katrina was getting settled in her hospital room, and Bruce helped her out.
"Thanks for helping me, Brucie." Katrina said.
"No problem, pretty mama-to-be. I'm always happy to help you." Bruce said.
"I know. You've been such a big help to me throughout my pregnancy. I don't know what I'd do without you." Katrina said.
"You probably wouldn't be having our son." Bruce said.
"Very funny. But you're right; our son wouldn't be coming if it wasn't for you." Katrina said as Bruce helped her into the bed and covered her with the sheet.
"So, we don't have much longer to go." Bruce said.
"I know. I can't wait to see our son." Katrina smiled.
"When do you think he'll be born?" Bruce asked.
"Probably in a few days or so." Katrina said.
"I wish he'd get here sooner." Bruce said.
"I know that, but he'll come out when he's ready to come out. I just hope he doesn't keep me in labor for days." Katrina said.
"And that he decides to be born while I'm here?" Bruce guessed.
"Of course. I want you here to see him when he's born." Katrina said.
"You bet I'll be present. I'm not going to let you go through the labor alone." Bruce said.
"Well, if you count the vet and the baby, I'm not gonna be alone." Katrina said.
"I'm well aware of that, Katrina baby, but I'm more than sure that it can't be much fun for a woman to give birth without her husband. I wanna be there to help you through it. Dudley said that Kitty's labor wasn't exactly easy." Bruce said.
"She was having 3 kids at once, like my mom did. I'm pregnant with one kid." Katrina reminded him.
"I know." said Bruce.
Since it was the weekend, there was no crime, so Bruce decided to stay at the hospital with his wife. He hated the thought of leaving her alone.
Early the next morning, Katrina woke up feeling sick. She didn't know what was wrong, but she had a pretty good idea that since it was her tummy that felt funny...
"Brucie, get up!" Katrina exclaimed, shaking her husband, who had been lying across part of her bed, asleep.
"Huh? What?!" Bruce asked, still kind of groggy.
"Get help!" Katrina said.
"What's wrong, pretty mama? Did you have a bad dream? Are we under attack?" Bruce asked, still trying to wake up.
"I think the baby's coming!" Katrina said.
"Now?!" Bruce exclaimed, wide awake.
"NOW!" Katrina screamed.
"Oh, okay!" said Bruce. He called for the nurse, who got the vet, who arrived in a matter of minutes. When the vet noticed that Bruce was in the room...
"Normally, we advise the father-to-be to stay out of the room." said the vet.
"I want him here!" Katrina said.
"And I'm not letting her do this alone." Bruce promised.
"No problem. He can stay." said the vet.
Bruce and Katrina sighed in relief. They wanted to be together for this.
We skip the birthing scene, and by lunchtime, Katrina had given birth to a healthy baby boy, who was a puppy, like his father. His fur was very light tan, and he had green eyes, like his mother. His ears were black, like his father's.
"He's so handsome..." Katrina smiled as she took the baby into her arms.
"He sure is." Bruce grinned, unable to believe that their son was here at last.
"We should let our parents and our siblings know about this." Katrina said.
"Doing so, Katrina baby." Bruce said, pulling out his cell phone and texting the news to Dudley, and their moms.
"I sent the text to Dudley. He'll give the news to Kitty." Bruce informed his wife.
"What about our moms?" Katrina asked.
"I sent word to them in a text. They should all be here soon enough." Bruce said.
"Now let's use the time before they get here to think of a name for our son." Katrina said.
"Can I hold him while we do that?" Bruce asked.
"Of course you can." Katrina said, and she handed the baby to Bruce, who was in awe as he held his child.
"He's so tiny..." Bruce said. He still couldn't believe that this beautiful little baby was his son!
"I know. And he's ours!" Katrina added.
"Now let's see..." said Bruce, and the two started thinking of names for their son. In a few minutes, they both decided on the name Adam.
"He looks like an Adam." Bruce said as he and Katrina looked at their son.
"And it suits him, too." Katrina smiled.
At that moment, Dudley and Kitty showed up, and so did Peg and Mrs. Katswell. They were all impressed with the baby. The grandmas were pleased to have another grandson, and Dudley and Kitty adored their new nephew.
"You guys are lucky. He's so adorable." Kitty said, gazing adoringly at her nephew.
"Not as lucky as you. You guys have 3 kids, and they're all amazing." Katrina said.
"Yeah, but there's 3 of them, and do you know how hard it is to care for 3 kids at the same time?" Dudley asked.
"I do. And two of them just became mothers." Mrs. Katswell reminded him.
"Oh, right. But I really can't complain. I melt every time I see my kids smile." Dudley said.
"I noticed. And I feel the same way, Dudley. Seeing the kids smile is enough to make any parent happy, especially if the parents are the one who put that smile there in the first place." Kitty said. She turned to Katrina and said, "Trust me on that."
"Never doubted you for a second, Kitty." Katrina smiled.
"Bruce, I know that Adam's a puppy like you, but I wonder if he has any of your features." Peg said.
"Well, his ears are black, like mine, and I'd say his fur color is a combination of mine and Katrina's, but I'm really glad he has Katrina's eyes. They're the prettiest eyes I've ever seen." Bruce said, giving his wife a loving look.
"Oh, Brucie..." Katrina said, blushing like mad.
Now almost all the couples have had their kids, except for Keswick and Claire. But don't you worry; their twins will be born in the next chapter, which is also the final chapter! Stay tuned!
