Hollow Tree

She met him there, by the hollow tree, after Dumbledore's funeral, red eyed and silent. Much had passed since their last talk and now they met solemnly.

"You didn't do it." The young woman whispered. The young man standing inside the hollow tree looked up.

"You were right, I guess… I'm sorry…" he mumbled, looking down again. "How is he?" He said this with venom.

She smirked, "He tried to break up with me, but I won't let him."

He smirked back, "What an idiot, hasn't he seen how stubborn you are?"

She grinned, "Guess not…"

A long pause followed. "What about your git of a brother, has he got the clue about her?"

"You know how he can be." She sighed tragically.

Another silence. "I hope your happy…I really hope so..." whispered the boy, faintly.

"I'm sorry…we weren't meant to be together, we agreed." She spoke softly.

"I don't want to be late! Oi!" came a rough call from far away.

"It's my brother… Look… I hope you're happy too, now that you've chosen this. Good-bye." She said simply, kissing him on the cheek.

"Bye Ginevra, have your Knight, have a 'Happily Ever After'...let no one bring you down." He whispered back, turning around to apparate.

"Wait, I…" the young woman stops, looking down, "Where will you go?"

"Don't worry about me, help him, help Potter, help him defeat Voldemort, have 20 kids, be happy." He disappeared.

"Gin! The train is goin' to leave without you!" Ron yelled, closer.

Ginny breathes in, memorizing her image of him, a redeemed dragon.

A/N It isn't exactly a D/G persay, but to me it is, just the last chapter of thier romance. I always wanted to try a semi-true to canon D/G, so this is a stab at it. I still love H/G, but you can always have many different ships to sail.
