The Mishima Bloodline: Façade Play

Chapter 06: Thicker than, blood

The sun had risen for another day of school. Chaolan was in his room, prepping up and looking his best for when he was to be with his fellow peers. He needed to look his best and grandest with whoever he was with - didn't want to taint the great name of his Father as well with the Mishima family. The silverette hummed in delight, looking at himself as he stood in front of his full body mirror. His uniform looked about right, hair and face looked about to perfection in his eyes. Lee winked at himself, spinning around one last time for a final check before nodding in satisfaction. He walked over to his school bag, hooking it onto his shoulder as the silverette walked over to their family dining hall, accompanied by their butler whom had arrived to be his personal chauffeur in holding his bag as well as leading him to which room they would have their breakfast at.

Their halls were illuminated by the rays of sunlight that went through the big glassed windows, that were not being covered by curtains at the moment. Lee hummed an unknown melody, feeling himself get famished whilst walking "What's for breakfast?" The silverette asked he turned to his butler and smiled charmingly at the man, Which in return got him a warm smile from the other as well.

"It is mushroom omelettes with strawberry crepes for dessert, young master." The butler replied back and Chaolan hummed again whilst nodding in approval.

"Excellent."

It wasn't long before they had arrived to their destination, one of the many dining halls their mansion had. Kazuya and his Father were already seated, eating without him. Though, not that Lee had minded and he somewhat expected his Father to have scold him for being late but, the man didn't, which made Lee almost sigh in relief though, it was held in as the silverette seated himself comfortably at his chair and ate with his family.

As they ate though, Heihachi had cleared his throat, catching both son's attention "How are your studies?" The man asked, looking both from Kazuya then, towards Lee respectively.

"They're going well Father." The ravenette replied nonchalantly after he had swallowed the food in his mouth; not sparing a single glance at the older before he went back to his meal.

Chaolan otherwise, had a smile that went up from ear to ear. He positioned himself to sit up straight "They're going splendidly Father." The silverette exclaimed in pride "My teachers have all given me a mark above 90, extra-curriculars aren't a problem at all. And I have gained favour from all of my classmates." He could have gone on and on but, Lee maintained himself and kept a small summary of his life at school. Heihachi nodded in approval to Lee, a small smile forming on his lips as he looked over to Chaolan.

"I am proud of you, my son." Heihachi replied back before looking at his plate then, deciding it was finished as he stood up from his seat. Chaolan couldn't be even more happier for himself. He had gained his Father's favour and was even pleased, proud of him.

"Thank you Father, I shall keep on doing my best." The silverette replied back hastily as his Father started to walk away. The older only looked back to him for a moment; smiling towards him and nodding as usual before going back to his business

Moments after, Lee and Kazuya finished their breakfast in silence, both getting ready for school. They were accompanied by their house maids and butlers to the door where their own driver was waiting. Both boys went to school, Chaolan glancing over to his brother from time to time, where in Kazuya on the other hand never once spared a single glance to him. He kept his usual stern and stone cold face on. Staring daggers at whatever imaginary object or person was in front of the ravenette.

They went to school, came to their respective classes and Lee as usual basked in the attention, lavished every single praise and moment where people want to be with him, talk to him and wanted to be friends with him. The silverette could not ask for more, he was contented with his life. Though, it wouldn't pass by that every single minute or two, he had to glance over to his brother. Kazuya kept to himself as usual, excluded from the group of people who adored and went beside Lee. Their teachers went on and about, every single one gracing a smile towards Chaolan as he, as usual was one of their best students.

And of course, a handful of them paid attention to Kazuya as well. Not a lot of them took a liking to the raven haired Mishima. As smart and intelligent he was, and behaved. He seemed to be - whenever given the attention, something seemed to be off with the boy. Though, Chaolan never really thought anything was wrong with his brother. Whenever Kazuya saw something wrong or saw something incorrect with his teachers he would simply point it out. And the silverette never really saw anything wrong with it - sure, at times Kazuya looked somewhat rude but, he was just merely correcting their teacher. Why would adults get so furious over his brother over such a simple thing?

"That is enough Mishima!" Their teacher Mr. Onodera exclaimed out rather angrily, hands slamming down against the teacher's desk as the man glared at the ravenette who was seated properly at his seat, gazing over to their teacher "I did not ask for your to correct nor assist me. Why don't you just shut your mouth like all the other students?! Be as behaved as your brother!"

Kazuya squinted his eyes, gaze still not wavering away from the teacher as he spoke up again "I was simply correcting you Onodera-sensei. I can't have you teaching me and my brother the wrong names nor years when it comes to history. Not that we need you for it anyways, but for the sake of my classmates as well." The ravenette replied back to which, Lee nodded in agreement actually. Their teacher wasn't all that skilled, in Chaolan's opinion. He got facts wrong from time to time and there were times that he had taught the wrong things, in result their tests and whatnot would be corrupt with the wrong answers.

Though, Kazuya's words did not amuse Mr. Onodera even the slightest bit "Get out of here! You rude and impudent child!" He exclaimed out angrily. Lee's eyes widened at the action; he wanted to stand up and protect his brother, but he knew his position. And he didn't want to get into trouble; he was a star student after all, getting mixed up in trouble would only cause him his grades. What would his Father say if he ever got into trouble; it would only end badly.

The ravenette only arched up one brow, hands folded against his chest. Kazuya rolled his eyes to the side, sighing rather tiredly as he stood up from his seat. Seeing as there was no use in arguing with their teacher. The ravenette left the room quietly, not uttering a single word nor even glancing the teacher's way. Just leaving the room silently.

Mr. Onodera let out an amount of breath as he looked back to his class and smiled at them "I'm sorry about that class. Let's get back to our lecture - shall we?"

It was in the afternoon now, they were currently at gym class. Their sport for this semester was baseball; everyone in class was divided into two and Chaolan and Kazuya were in different teams - both being picked apart by their teacher as both were as equally good so, both team needed needed either one of them. Since placing both of them in one would out balance the class teams.

"Nice pitch Chaolan!" One of their classmates shouted out to the silverette and Lee only smiled back to his friend, giving a thumbs up accompanied by a wink. He was a great pitcher, could be almost as good as an ace if he practiced enough for the part. He had just gave another out to their opponent's batter, a good point so they only had one more batter to finish off. The silverette narrowed his gaze, seeing as it was his brother who was going to bat last.

"Good luck Kazuya-nii!" The silverette said out loud, smiling widely at his brother as he did wish the best for the ravenette. Even if they were at opposing teams, it was no secret that the silverette looked up to Kazuya - even though, he does intend to win against the other to get a higher and better grade at gym class. The older rolled his eyes, getting into position and not really putting on an effort to reply back to Lee; which Lee understood, as he knew his brother wasn't a very talkative type of person. Chaolan went back to their game. Positioning himself as he looked over to his catcher's hands; the other gave off a sign - telling him to do a curve ball against his brother.

Lee smirked in delight, curve ball was one of his specialties - he had been practicing it with his classmates whenever they had the time. And the silverette in return thought it was the perfect pitch for his brother. Chaolan nodded at his teammate, getting ready for the pitch as he stood up straight, getting on his form, a firm grip at the ball before he stretched his body out and threw it to the catcher.

Everything was perfect, from his stance and to his throw. It was a curve ball that was good enough to pass for a professional in a junior league. Though, Kazuya was the batter and to the disappointment of Lee's teammates. Kazuya knew his brother and even if it went noticed or not that he too watched the silverette from time to time - the ravenette knew exactly how to hit the ball. It was either from his observation down to his very own raw talent and skill. Kazuya hit the ball right on spot; the ball moving backwards in a higher pace, over Chaolan's head as well as his other teammates in the field. It was a homerun and all the ravenette had to do was walk over from base to base, a bored expression etched onto his features as he took his time in walking from the enemy base till back to their home one.

The referee didn't complain at the slowness and said safe when Kazuya had made it to the last base. His team cheered, praising Kazuya for his score to which in return Kazuya paid no attention to; silently going back to his team's bench and relaxing - looking as though nothing had happened as the ravenette seemed to be taking a nap on the team bench.

Lee had a grin on his lips, very proud of his brother as he too cheered earlier, congratulating his brother even though he was ignored. There was rivalry with them, the silverette did feel overly jealous at his talented brother - though, there was still a feeling of happiness there of course. What was family for? He had the best family ever and he didn't care at all if sometimes he was ignored by the ravenette - he knew they had a bond that was slowly growing anyways. Growing too slowly for Chaolan's liking; and even if he was patient, there was still that bubbling feeling of envy.

A few more rounds and Chaolan's team came out to be victorious. It only happened though because Kazuya had to be out for giving a foul to one of his teammates. The ravenette grew a little angry from one of Chaolan's teammates, Matsuhiro. Matsuhiro was a rowdy and tough guy that liked to boss around and have everybody kneeling before him. And it was no exception that he got onto Kazuya's nerves. The silverette didn't know the full story but, one moment Matsuhiro was talking to Kazuya then, after a second had passed Kazuya punched Matsuhiro. The other gained a black eye and was immediately escorted to the nurse's office.

Chaolan scoffed in disgust; he didn't know why they had to help Matsuhiro. The guy was too full of himself and Lee in return had no interest in him, even more he was rather irritated and got annoyed by Matsuhiro from time to time. So, in response Chaolan thought it was only appropriate and Matsuhiro got what he deserved for annoying his brother.

Gym class had ended and they were all getting ready to go to the showers; Lee was in his group of friends as usual, chatting and idly telling them on how he had made the winning pitch. It was all fun and laughs at first before, his way got blocked by a bunch of bullies. They were Matsuhiro's group of friends - people who thought they were higher than, everyone else. Ones who thought they had owned the school, by the works of their muscles and money, inherited by their families.

"Hey you. Don't you think it was a little too much for your brother to get our friend into the infirmary?" One guy, named Akashi who seemed to be the leader of the group said to Chaolan, a grin on his lips as he crossed his arms against his chest. There were at least 5 behind Akashi that stayed as his guard. The silverette's friends who were beside him earlier had all fled to safety, bidding him good-bye, saying that they'll see him in their next class. Chaolan groaned, knowing all too well that his friends were nothing but a bunch of cowards who knew nothing more than, to just be with people whom they thought was suitable and powerful enough. But, once they got into trouble - it was time to dash and run.

The silverette arched up one brow to Akashi, arms against his chest. He didn't think these guys would cause any ruckus, even if they were bullies - there was no way they'd gang up and hurt Chaolan. They were in a place where teacher's could walk by at any moment and Chaolan was a star student for pete's sake. He could tell the teacher's any moment about this and they wouldn't get away with it; he just had to bat his eyelashes and look all innocent, play the victim.

But, it didn't seem like that for now. Three classmates went behind Chaolan and grabbed him "What are you doing?!" The silverette exclaimed out in shock. They were thinking of of beating him up? But, growing up in the streets - he knew the world was either eat or be eaten. So, the silverette did one of the most logical things to do. He fought back, elbowing one guy's face as it hit his nose and caused a nose bleed. The kid screamed in pain, his nose bleeding from the blow. Chaolan scoffed, ready to fight off the other two as he kicked one in the stomach, which hit midway but, the silverette's head was suddenly attacked. One of the bullies had punched him at his temples , it wasn't hard enough to get Chaolan to fall but, the kick to his stomach was enough to have the silverette panting from pain and gasping for air.

The silverette crouched down on the floor, curling up into a ball before looking up to Akashi and glaring daggers at the other. It was a 6 against 1 fight. Though, he had frequently gone into unfair fights - he didn't want to taint his record at school. All of these bullies were part of either the karate club or other extra-curricular clubs. Chaolan still had a chance, but it was rather low.

"Hah, look at Mishima. Kneeling down for me, I always knew you were just a piece of trash." Akashi jeered, laughing in delight before he spit at the silverette. Lee gritted his teeth in anger, screw grades, he hated it when people would step on him - especially when he had worked so hard to be where he was at right now. Chaolan quickly stood up, blowing a hook right at Akashi's face. The leader quickly fell to the floor; on a daze as he was on the verge of unconsciousness if it wasn't for his group that helped him.

For the hit, Chaolan was quickly kicked on his stomach again, a few punches to his face and other places before he came back to his knees; bruises evident on his body as Akashi was back in front of him. Looking angry, angry enough to kill a person "You will pay for that Mishima!" Akashi shouted as he went in to give a punch to the silverette. But, as he was coming in close - a hand suddenly grabbed a hold of Akashi's shoulder and made him turn to his back.

As the assaulter was faced back, he was punched square on his face. The leader, fell back, nearly landing on Chaolan if it wasn't for the bullies letting go of him so he could scoot away from Akashi's fall. The bully laid down on the floor, face bloodied as he was now unconscious. Lee looked up again and this time, he saw Kazuya. The ravenette had a dangerous glare on him, sparing even just a glance on him may as well have made venom seep through your veins from Kazuya's glare. He looked angry, eyes narrowing and fists clenched - he didn't look like a person who could kill. Kazuya looked like a mass murderer, with only a raise of his hand; he could make anyone kneel.

But, it seems as though his classmates didn't see the same as Chaolan. Even when they had gasped and have their knees shake, one of them was still dumb enough to try and hit the ravenette. Though, Kazuya was too good for them - in a haste, the older Mishima grabbed the other's hand, twisting it to it's back and their classmates screamed in pain. Kazuya could break his arm if he wanted to, but the ravenette let it go, but not before giving a punch to his stomach, sending their classmates flying off next to Akashi.

Kazuya only glared at his assaulter before looking over to Chaolan. The silverette couldn't believe his eyes; his brother, whom had most of the time ignored and left him alone, was saving him. Lee stared up to his brother in disbelief before the ravenette's gaze parted his own and Kazuya stared over to the remaining three - who didn't move and just looked to Kazuya with fear etched onto their features; bodies shaking as they possibly looked as though they were begging for mercy, fear and cowardice reeked from the three.

"Don't you ever touch my brother again."
