The Aftermath of The Murder Lucy Scarlet:
It was judgement day for Dr Jenny Black was a medic and the wife of the owner of the Maid Mariam House on Sherwood Avenue and was now on trial for murdering entertainer Miss Lucy Scarlet.
"I'd like to call Dr Jenny Black to the stand" said the barrister.
Jenny made her way to the stand.
"Dr Black how long did you know Miss Scarlet for?" he asked.
"Two and a half years" Jenny replied.
" You were angry with Miss Scarlet why was that?" the barrister questioned.
"She kept on flirting with my husband when she did her evening performances!" he said.
"I see!" said the barrister.
"Could you kindly tell the court what happened that night?" the barrister requested.
Jenny nodded.
"I was just about to go into my bedroom I saw Miss Scarlet coming out of the bathroom. So I dec ided to challenge her over her flirtious behaviour towards my husband. Her reply was very rude in my opinion and we ended up in a brawl and pushed her down the stairs! I went down the stairs after her and noticed a lead pipe standing up by the radiator and used it by hitting her around the head three times" she told the court.
"Thank you Dr Black!" said the barrister. As Jenny was escorted back to the defence box accompanied by a prison officer.
After the defence and prosecution barristers had given their closing statements. The jury went and deliberated their verdict.
The next day dawned
"Could the defendant please stand" said the usher.
Jenny stood up.
"Could the foreman of the jury stand" the usher as
The foreman of the jury stood up.
"Have you all reached a verdict that you all agree?" the usher questioned.
"Yes!" said the foreman of the jury.
"Do you find the defendant Dr Jenny Annabelle Black guilty or not guilty for the murder of Miss Lucinda Penelope Scarlet?"
the usher queried.
"Guilty!" the foreman of the jury responded.
"Dr Jenny Black you've been found guilty of the murder of Miss Lucinda Scarlet. I sentence you to the gallows where you'll hung by the neck until death" the judge ordered.
Jenny had shown no remorse for the crime she'd committed as in her mind Lucy was a tart as she was trying to steal her husband from her and knew that she'd done the right thing.
