AN: This story will not be canon by Hololive unless the Idols, and Cover Corp canonizes them which will be unlikely. I will also be using they're lore origins and modify them to fit into the actual "Story" cause why would the government reveal the existence of beings that could destroy the world. Also since this takes place before hololive is established so they're characters will be different until later on in the story.
Area 39 harbor, 30 miles south-west of Anchorage
April 13th, 2014
It was cold blistering cold, way colder than it was when I was stationed in Hokkaido. Wait, why was I sent to the states when I'm a JMSDF captain of a mere destroyer?! I mean I'm honored to go to the states. I've always imagined living in cities like New York and L.A but not in Alaska?! It's cold here, no wonder why it's the worst assignment a soldier can get, I have two layers of coats on. It still was cold, add onto a scarf and it still was cold!
"Captain Sora! Welcome to the States!" Said the American Admiral, his name was Admiral John Smith, a white man from Pennsylvania.
"I would rather be somewhere else other than here!" I complained.
"I like your style, Captain! That's what every soldier stationed in Alaska should wish for but there's nothing we could do about it." Said Admiral John, he then patted me on the shoulder, in pittyment, he then turned around and started walking beckoning me to come with him. I started to follow.
"How did you get sent up to Alaska? You must've messed up real badly to be sent up here." I said, Changing the topic.
"No, I was ordered up here for an operation." The Admiral said, 'Isn't that basically a reassignment?! Anyways why was he ordered up here for an operation, it must've been a pretty secret operation if it's being performed in Alaska. What was the operation about? Was it continued nuclear testing? If it was well, why would they bring in a JMSDF officer up here! We already know the destructive power of Nuclear Bombs since we're the only ones that had one of our cities wiped off the map by the damned thing!' I thought to myself.
But the Admiral answered my question and he knew that would be on my mind.
"If you're wondering what the operation will be about. Well, let's say you're getting an upgrade Captain." The Admiral said, we then arrived at a heavy metal door. There was a soldier guarding it, after gaining confirmation that he is indeed the admiral he turned towards me, silently asking the Admiral if she's allowed here.
"Don't worry she's with me." The Admiral said to the soldier before he could do anything. The soldier just nodded in response.
Then the door opened, when we went through the other side, what I saw was amazing.
"A Super Carrier?! Is Japan now building Larger Aircraft Carriers?! If so, why am I getting an upgrade!" I yelled confused, completely awed, stricken and confused.
"I am jealous of you, lucky girl you get a Super Carrier!" The Admiral said.
"WAIT, WHY AM I. A JMSDF OFFICER GETTING AN AIRCRAFT CARRIER!" I scream at the top of my lungs, confused at the situation.
"The girl is excited." The admiral said, he then cleared his throat and continued, "JMSDF Naval officer, Captain of the Kongo Class Destroyer, Tsumashi. Congratulations under the orders of the Pentagon, and highest ranking members of the JSDF, and Prime Minister of Japan you have been chosen for Operation Isekai. You will be given the USS Liberty, the newest of all the Carriers, she will be renamed to the JMSDFS, Tsumashi. You will get your orders tomorrow at 08:00 hours, until then you should get to know your crew. Any questions?"
I raised my hand.
"Yes Captain?"
"So will I have some of my old crew?"
"Yes, they will be. They are currently training on the operation of the carrier. Not only that, some new experimental tech the pentagon wants you to field test."
'Experimental Tech? What kind of tech, I wouldn't be surprised that the U.S military has Gundams and stuff, but what else would they have? Granted I'm not an American sailor but a Japanese sailor, technically speaking I don't need to follow his orders, but I'm on lease but why?' I thought inwardly.
"I have one more Question Admiral?"
"Please go ahead, ask me."
"Why was I chosen for this mission? The US Navy could've chosen one of their own sailors. Not someone from the JMSDF."
The admiral sighed "That I can not tell you right, let's head somewhere more private, I had a feeling you'll ask me this." He said, we then walked to the Admirals office. When we arrived he beckoned me to sit down, he then walked to one of the many file cabinets in his room, and was looking for a file. When he found what he was looking for he placed the file on the table.
"The reason why you were chosen for this operation was because you have experience dealing with what's on the other side of the portal to the other world."
He then opened the file and there were about ten pages in the file. The first one stated:
Date: 5/11/03Location: 2 miles Southwest of Takami Lake
The Takami Lake Incident
Casualties: Extreme
Enemy: Unknown
Enemy Numbers: Unknown
This file is only viewable to the highest members of The Pentagon and the JSDF.
The file on that page ended. I then turned to the next, this one was a bit different. Instead of a casualty report it was a report from surviving soldiers. There were pictures of Type 90 Main Battle Tanks being completely annihilated.
One survivor report was one First Lt Takashi Youji a Tank Commander, his report clearly stated being evenly matched with the enemy who were clearly infantry, but, we're flanked and outmaneuvered and was subsequently massacred, he was the only survivor found out of an entire Tank Battalion.
Another report from a surviving infantry soldier of the 30th infantry Battalion stated that he and his battalion were ambushed, the enemy used arrows that exploded with enough force to take out a modern tank, he lost his arm during the fight but was able to get out.
An Air Force pilot from the 3rd air wing attached to the 8th division reports seeing the Main Battle Tanks being literally thrown into the air, when fighting they're heavy Cavalry which were like Golems from an anime.
In his interview he said "It was one of the most terrifying experiences of his life."
Surprisingly enough, Tokino herself was technically a survivor of the incident. Although it was covered up and no one will take a little girl seriously. The memories of my brother getting crushed right in front of her popped up.
She was thrown out of her reading by the Admiral.
"You can request this file any time, just ask." The admiral said somenly, he then put the file back in its spot, while I left his office.
Same day
JMSDFS Tsumashi Aircraft Carrier
"Attention!" Yelled a Naval officer.
I walked up to the pedal stall looking over the entire crew of the Tsumashi. She could clearly tell there were some American Sailors, and Airmen amongst her ranks, some of the Airmen were Japanese, but some Americans were amongst them as well. She was fine with that although it was understandable it would be a joint operation, but it was questionable how efficient communication would be if some sailors don't know English or Japanese. Although chances were it was mandatory for both nationalities operating on this carrier to know each other's predominant or primary language.
Shaking those thoughts out of her head she began her speech.
"Attention all troops I am Captain Tokino Sora, I don't know if you've been informed about this mission or not. If not, you're probably confused as to why you were sent to Alaska, when you're a member of the JSDF and not the U.S Military. Our orders are to go to another world!" I yelled, this caused murmurs amongst her ranks.
'Well considering we're heading to another world if we told anybody else like a civilian or any member of the JSDF or US Military who isn't informed of this, they may laugh at us, and just call us childish because of our dreams.'
"You might be confused as to what I'm saying but you'll soon find out, but to prevent some confusion as to why we're going I've been given permission to tell you! We have two missions, our first mission is to take out an enemy who we've fought before. Some of you may have fought before! Our second mission is to explore this unknown world we're fighting in!"
"YES MAM!" Yelled the soldiers.
