Oram Village, Aka Kingdom

April 14th, 2014

"Can I please go with you people?" Asked the little girl in the Kimono, Sora didn't know how to deal with children. If her friend, and Commander Hoshimachi were here she would've been able to convince her otherwise.

"It will be dangerous, and scary. I am a brave enough girl to handle things like that but I don't know about you?" I said, saying anything to convince her to not come. But it backfired on her.

"I am a brave enough girl, also I have the ability to use magic so I can defend myself!" She said exquisitely, and with no intention of backing off.

I shot a glare at the village chief to help me since he is her grandfather.

"Sakura, you have my permission to go with her but the Captain seems to be stubborn." He said, then he beckoned me to come with him. So I walked over to him keeping my emotions in check so I didn't pull the trigger on him and burn the entire village to the ground.

"Your granddaughter will be in danger if she goes with us." I said.

"I'm aware, but she can take care of herself. When she was five, she killed a bear. The bear was roaming and damaging infrastructure at night, we already requested adventurers to kill it for us. But sadly they had a better job they could take, so she decided to stay up and wait and when she found the bear attacking a food stand she killed it with her magic." He said, 'the idea of a child killing things isn't a new idea at all but it is morally wrong in some instances.' I thought to myself

"Where we come from magic doesn't exist, it only exists in fantasy, the idea of magic comes from people not understanding advanced technology but in this world it truly exists."

"I am nothing more than an old dog who wants to learn new tricks, who sadly doesn't have the energy or time to learn these new tricks so I have my grand daughter do it for me." He said, then a ball of fire was formed over his hands "my daughter is a very curious and stubborn girl, she's also willing to learn even if learning new things will be painful." He added, after realizing defeat I decided to drop my stance but there was one more barrier I had to get passed if she wanted to join.

"Alright I will see if I can get permission from the Admiral." I said, sighing.

"You have my permission Captain, remember your secondary goal here is to make peaceful contact with the Natives. So consider this a part of the plan." The Admiral said.

"Yes sir." I said, then the line disconnected, I put the satellite phone back into its spot, right behind me was the nine year old Sakura Miko.

"So what did the admiral say?" She asked.

"He said yes." I said.

"Yay!" She said, jumping up and down.

"But…" I said with a smile, then I called a medic and seconds later came in with a briefcase, then the medic opened it. Sakura's face distorted into a face of fear.

In the healers briefcase was a large assortment of needles with some sort of clear liquid in it. The Captain left saying have fun before leaving.

"Please sit down, Miss. Sakura." She asked gently, I did what the healer asked me. She then picked up one of the needles "I will need to put this through your skin, it will prevent you from being sick. So please keep still, it will only be a slight sting." Then the needle broke through the skin, the clear substance being injected into my body.

"What are you doing anyways?" I asked.

"I'm giving a vaccine that will keep you safe from viruses like smallpox." She said, then she took out the cylindrical object, place a bandaid on the place where the skin was broken through.

"Is this it?" I asked.

"Nope we still have to go through at least 7 more vaccines." The healer said, my face paled at the number of these things I have to take.

"Do I have to take this daily?" I asked.

"No, certain vaccines last for years. Some vaccines like the flu vaccine are yearly because there's always a new strand of the flu every year. Meanwhile vaccines like the smallpox vaccine aren't needed for years since we've already wiped out smallpox in our world. Measles is the same, you won't need to take another vaccine for many years." The healer lectured me.

After all the vaccines were injected I met up with Captain Sora, at the Landing craft, she seemed a bit worried.

"Captain?" I asked her, over the headset.

She looked up "yes?" She asked.

"You look like you have something on your mind?" I said.

She smiled and said "I'm fine."

After looking at Sora' facial expressions I decided not to ask any further, after flying for another 3 minutes they finally arrived at the Port of Aka City, the Capital of the Kingdom of Aka.

Just like the Oram Village, people began to crowd the docks to get a view of the Landing craft.

The hangar door opened up, after that we walked out, Sakura happily taking the lead.

At the beginning of the dock, there was a group of Knights trying to get the people to stop crowding the docks.

Then a Knight walked up, he was blonde, very clearly Japanese in ethnicity or looked similar but wore European armour reminiscent of the late medieval period of European Knights.

"Who are you people and where do you come from?" The knight asked.

Sakura was the first to talk, completely unfazed by the Knights gleaming armour.

"I am Sakura Miko, I am from Oram village." She said, then Mr. Wright spoke "I am Diplomat Wright. I am from the United States of America, we wish to open diplomatic relationships with your country."

Then Diplomat Senizawa spoke "I am Diplomat Senizawa, I am from the Nation of Japan. We too would like to open diplomatic relationships with your country." Senizawa said, bowing.

"I am Captain Sora from the Nation of Japan. I am a Captain from the JMSDF, the Naval Arm of the Japanese Military. The Captain of the Tsumashi." I said, and then Saluted.

The Captain eyed me for a second, then continued "It's nice to meet you people. I haven't heard of any countries called Japan or the United States, where are your countries at?" He asked.

"Well, our countries aren't on the world map as we're from…" Diplomat Wright said, looking for the right word.

"Another world." I said completing Mr. Wrights' sentence.

"Yes, another world." He said.

"Another world? Impossible, only the gods are capable of traveling between worlds." The knight said cockily.

"Well, you will be surprised at what could happen." Diplomat Senizawa said, then a carriage arrived at the docks, with a red carpet being rolled out.

Then another knight came out declaring "Lord Sakura has arrived!" Then out came a plump man, the only way that I could describe the entire situation was that it was ugly and flashy. The plump man wore very fancy clothes that if made out of the same fabrics today would cost a pretty good amount of Yen to make. I could estimate that he was well in his forties and considering this worlds tech level, and his health he probably didn't have long till he died from diabetes or something similar.

When Lord Sakura arrived on the dock he asked "Sakura my cousin! How are you doing?" He asked, and instead what he got was the nine year old running behind me.

"He's your cousin?" I silently asked Sakura.

"Yes he is and he isn't exactly popular in Oram village." She said, I decided to take another look at the Lord and then back to Sakura to try to see any similarities which unsurprisingly enough there weren't.

"Why isn't he popular?" I asked.

"Well, he placed an insane tax on the surrounding areas including Oram village, just to support his expenses even though he is participating in the very illegal human trafficking industry." Sakura said it surprised me that she was this aware and not innocent.

Then the lord snapped at me "you there why are you taking my cousin away from me?!" He barked at me, in response my men who felt their Captain was being threatened, pulled up their guns and started requesting for some reinforcements in case things get bloody and we have to shoot our way out.

I quickly told my men to stand down then answered the nobles' question "I am not taking your cousin away from you she just feels safer behind me." I said, this caused a scowl form on the noble's face. In the corner of my peripheral I saw a sly tongue come out.

It wouldn't be until Senizawa interrupted "I know we just met how about instead of trying to kill each other over…" he then paused and took a look at Sakura "a little girl how about we just forget this situation happened and start on a better footing." Senizawa suggested.

"I'm all for that." I said, but it seems like the noble didn't want to start on better footing.

But then multiple F-22s flew over completely changing his mind on the suggestion of starting on different footing.

We were then taken to the Sakura's mansion. It would take about a full day before the king arrives, assuming he goes by land, but most likely he will come in by sea which will be faster assuming the wind is with him.

Talks wouldn't begin until the king arrived, so we were on leave. Hours later I couldn't see, so I decided to take a look at the moon. But instead of a perfectly circular moon I was met with a moon missing around 25% of its land mass with signs of life that used to be on it.

"Looking at the moon?" She asked.

"Yes, I have a question?" I asked her.

"Go on, I will try to answer to the best of my ability." She responded.

"Why is the moon like that?" I asked.

"We don't actually know all we know is that around 200 years ago the moon suddenly exploded. Many believe it was a punishment from the gods. So it was called heaven's fall. Lots of recorded knowledge and civilizations were destroyed, the Imperium, and Elves used to hold lots more territory that is now underwater, and destroyed. Oram village used to be connected to the mainland, once." she answered somnemly. I decided to take an extra look at the moon. There were clear signs that it did harbor life once but due to the destruction of the moon's surface it is now a dead rock like millions of others.

"What did the moon look like before the destruction?" I asked.

"Well we're lucky many elves that survived from back then are still alive. According to them it used to be blue and green. Green like grass and blue like the oceans." Sakura answered.

"Really, in our world we went to our moon a few times before, but it wasn't blue and green. But we haven't been to the moon in nearly 40 years, at the end of the space race, between the U.S and USSR." I said.

"Wow, that's a huge achievement." Sakura said.

I stifled a quiet yawn.

In response Sakura yawned as well. "Anyways I'm going to sleep. We have an early day tomorrow after all." I said.

Fire was surrounding the entire battle, the members of the 8th division were sent down near Takami lake for joint training with the U.S.J forces, but all of a sudden they were being ordered to completely encircle a mountain in the local area, and civilians were evacuated.

The official reason was that there was a volcanic eruption so everybody in a 30 mile radius was evacuated but for some odd reason the military was ordered to occupy the area and help people evacuate.

But when they arrived the horrors jumped them.

"Surround that giant rock,we outnumber them!" I ordered, the type 90 tanks continued their trek to the massive statue that was moving. Then out of nowhere one the type 90 tanks were flipped up into the sky, and onto their top. I could hear the crew of that tank panicking.

"HELP US!" The tank commander of Phoenix 19 screamed, sickening cracking was heard then was cut off.

I then gave the order to fire, every single remaining tank in the battalion fired, but the rounds just went around them missing completely. The artillery also attempted to hit the enemy but all it did was take out the enemy infantry.

More and more of his allied tanks began being thrown up into the air. I was pretty sure I could hear the sound of a prop plane overhead. Then his tank was thrown over.

Luckily the tank landed the way a tank should be, but the tank was damaged to the point it couldn't drive.

"We need to bail!" I ordered.

But then I heard my friend and my driver say somethingI didn't want to hear "Takanashi… my leg it's… it's stuck!" He said, I looked down and indeed his leg was stuck.

"I'll get you out!" I said, attempting to get out of the commander hatch, but he stopped me.

"There's no time to get me out! Shoot me!" He pleaded.

"What…?" I said.

"SHOOT ME!" He said this time louder, I brought out my handgun with shaky hands.

"Shoot me Takanashi, save yourself so you can fight another day!" My friend said, I then pulled the trigger with tear filled eyes. But out of natural instinct I pulled myself out of the wreckage that was my tank, and began running. I ran as fast as I could to the tree line, but when I got there I didn't slow down. I was headed to the nearby road in hopes to get my hands on a car so I could get out of here as fast as possible and regroup with friendly forces.

But then I saw a little girl crying all by herself. There was the sound of gunfire still happening between us and the enemy.

The girl looked at me and asked "are you with the JSDF?" She asked, with a croaky mouth, sobbing.

"Yes I am." I said, trying to hide the fact I was scared, to the point I wanted to make sure this wasn't a nightmare, but sadly it isn't.

"I want my mommy!" She yelled, hugging me tightly.

"We'll find her but we must get out of this situation first." I said, trying to console her.

Then a massive dust cloud formed quickly like something huge was being thrown.

I quickly grabbed the girl's hand and started running in the direction of road 111, which was south.

"What's your name?" I asked her.

"My name is Sora! Tokino Sora!" She yelled.

"I am First Lt Takanashi Youji, stay with me and I'll help you find your parents!" I said, I noticed she could barely keep up so I picked her up and continued running. She said nothing. Then an explosion happened a meter away from us, we were thrown onto the ground by the explosion. I thought we could've died that day from the proximity of the blast but no god or gods I should say we're with us. Because the shrapnel from the explosion stopped mid air.

"You good?" Asked a female voice, it's origins were from a woman. I couldn't see her face or even her back because there were tentacles blocking my view.

I then checked on Sora to make sure she's okay, but the woman told me "The girl is alright. She just has some minor injuries, and a minor concussion. She'll be okay."

I said nothing, I only focused on one objective: getting Sora out of here.
