Hagrid had returned from his trip to London the next Sunday, where Hermione had gotten a letter from him saying Buckbeak was going to be executed, because they lost.

When Brooklyn heard this, he was beyond furious. He just couldn't believe that an innocent creature was going to be killed, just like that.

"They can't do this!" He had shouted that day in anger. "He's innocent!"

Hermione wiped her eyes. "Malfoy's dad frightened the Committee into it. You know what he's like…"

Brooklyn growled, crunching the letter in his hands. Oh, yes, he knew. First from being threatened in a public place, then ending up using a cursed diary that almost got him killed.

Ron had offered his help, which ended with Hermione hugging him tightly, much to Brooklyn and Harry's amusement.

"Ron, I'm so sorry about Scabbers!" Hermione sobbed. Ron patted her back awkwardly.

"Yeah, well, he was pretty useless anyway. And perhaps Mum will get me an owl now!" But then he noticed Harry giving him a look. "What?"

"Don't you have somebody else to apologize to?" Harry questioned, as Brooklyn nodded his head. Ron winced. He had been trying, but his anger had always won out. But now that the Scabbers thing had been taken care of, he felt like he could apologize now.

"Brook, I-it wasn't right for me to blame you for failing to protect Scabbers. You have many other things besides rats to worry about, and, I didn't mean to call you a devil. It just slipped; I was just angry."

The gargoyle felt his heart warm slightly at the boy's words, which felt honest about what he was saying, and gave him a nod, holding out his hand. Ron took it, and they shook. Hermione watched with tears in her eyes.

…..

The rest of the week upped the security measures, almost making it impossible for Brooklyn to bring Harry to Sirius, but there came one evening after a mishap of classes, involving Hermione twice earlier in the afternoon.

After Care of Magical Creatures, Brooklyn had spotted Malfoy laughing at Hagrid, who had started crying after talking about how he had failed the Committee and running back to the cabin.

"Look at him blubber!" Malfoy had laughed in glee, making Brooklyn growl furiously, moving towards the brat, but Hermione had gotten there first, doing something that had surprised them all: She punched him, right in the face, making the boy stagger back in shock.

This reminded Brooklyn of how he had punched Sirius. Even though he shouldn't really think this way, since she had been sleep-deprived from her studies, he was quite impressed the way she stood up for Hagrid, by punching Malfoy.

Another incident involved the crazy Divination professor: Brooklyn was waiting outside when Hermione appeared, looking quite angry and stressed. When the rest of the class came, he learned from Ron she had suddenly quit, after Trelawney told her she didn't have the 'Inner Eye.' The gargoyle frowned. Sure, she was nuts, especially whenever she bugged him about being a Seer, but she didn't have to insult Hermione like that.

This was all going around in Brooklyn's head while he and Harry went out that evening the day before the Finals match under the cloak past the security trolls, and to the Whomping Willow where Sirius would meet them.

He felt butterflies in his stomach at how Harry would react, as they threw off the cloak after seeing nobody.

"So... where's this friend of yours?" Harry had asked, scratching his head. Brooklyn looked around, wondering where Sirius was hiding, until a dog's snuffles came from the bushes. Harry gasped a bit at the sight of the black dog, thinking it was the Grim, but he noticed that Brooklyn could see it too.

"This dog was teaching you the Patronus?" Harry questioned in confusion. But Brooklyn, with a slightly guilty expression, nodded to the dog, who turned into….

Harry's mouth fell open in shock and disbelief. Sirius Black? Here?! With his brother?! He backed away, his eyes narrowed in anger and betrayal. Brooklyn held up his hands.

"Harry, please, he's innocent—." He tried, but Harry didn't want to listen yet.

"Why were you meeting with this... this murderer and betrayer of my parents?"

"Just let me explain!" Brooklyn cried out. "If he had wanted to hurt me, or control me, he would have done it by now?" Harry felt his anger subside just a bit. What he was saying did sound a little bit true, for Brooklyn had no signs of having any kind of spell on him, and Sirius's face and eyes didn't at all look like a madman, even though they had signs of being in prison for twelve years.

"But why didn't you tell me when you first met him?" he asked.

Brooklyn looked down. "I needed to wait for sure that Sirius wouldn't do anything, or hurt any of my friends, before I pulled you out here." He said, feeling a little relieved now that he had shown him now instead of waiting. Who knows what would have happened then!

Sirius nodded. "Yes, and that night I broke into the dormitory, I had no intent of killing Ron. I was trying to get somebody else that might have snuck in, the real murderer of your parents, Peter Pettigrew."

Harry felt himself going numb, not sure whether to believe or not. How was Peter even alive? But then he recalled that night when he saw his name on the Map, and then knew now that the map probably wasn't lying, and he really was alive!

"But, you weren't the one who betrayed my parents?" He asked, legs trembling. Sirius shook his head, wanting to hug his godson more than ever.

"He's really helped me these past few months," Brooklyn said, casting grateful eyes onto his friend.

Harry's eyes filled with tears. His godfather really was innocent, and he had those terrible thoughts of killing him. He then ran right into Sirius's arms, who hugged him tightly. Brooklyn felt his heart swell at the sight. Godson and Godfather were reunited at last. But deep down, he hoped that soon he himself would finally be reunited with his clan, just like his brother.

I'll be coming for you, Peter Pettigrew, He thought savagely. You'll pay for ruining my brother's chances of having a real family!

For a time, the trio sat together, Sirius and Harry both talking up a storm, despite the precious minutes they had left, for the Quidditch Finals were tomorrow, and Harry needed to be in shape. Eventually, Sirius let them go, hoping to see them again later. Harry hugged him once more before heading back with Brooklyn to the castle, Harry thanking Brooklyn over and over again before they finally fell asleep in the common room.

The next day was the Quidditch Finals, where Brooklyn sat with Ron and Hermione once again, relieved that their squabble with Scabbers was finally over.

Hooch kicked off the game, the Gryffindor and Slytherin teams soaring into the air, Harry faster than everybody else on his Firebolt.

For a brief moment though, Brooklyn thought he spotted a shaggy black dog watching from a hole in the stands, wagging his tail. Sirius had apparently decided to show up for the finals.

Lee's voice suddenly broke through the air as Brooklyn spotted Angelina with the Quaffle, managing to score, before suddenly being slammed into by his rival, Flint, who taunted about not seeing her there, making Brooklyn flare with anger.

Fred had gotten revenge for him by smacking a Blunger at Flint, breaking the troll's nose. Hooch shouted out at them by giving both Slytherin and Gryffindor penalties, making Fred curse back at her indignantly.

The game eventually got even more violent, as a Slytherin chaser named Montague had grabbed Katie's head, making her drop the Quaffle. Almost everybody in the stands, including Brooklyn were yelling in outrage, and Lee was cursing again after Katie did another penalty for Gryffindor.

"THIRTY-ZERO! TAKE THAT, YOU DIRTY CHEATING—."

"Jordan, if you can't comment in an unbiased way—!"

"I'm telling it like it is, Professor!"

Brooklyn chuckled. He had come to enjoy Lee's comments lately, for they'd been nothing but boring, always having some kind of hilarious joke. But then excitement rose when Harry spotted the Snitch, before tensing as the Slytherin beaters tried sending Blungers in his brother's way. Thankfully, he was able to dodge them skillfully, thanks to the perfect steering of the Firebolt.

"And it's Gryffindor in possession again, as Johnson takes the Quaffle—Flint alongside her—poke him in the eye, Angelina!—it was a joke, Professor—oh no—Flint in possession, Flint flying towards the Gryffindor goalposts, come on now, Wood, save—!"

His rival had scored, making the Gryffindor crowd roar in rage, and Lee swore so badly in words Brooklyn wouldn't dare repeat out loud, as McGonagall tried to tug the mic away.

"Sorry, Professor! Sorry! Won't happen again! So, Gryffindor in the lead, thirty points to ten, and Gryffindor in possession—."

This had probably been the second most intense Quidditch match Brooklyn had seen compared to the one against Hufflepuff, having Slytherin attack anybody it could. But then the second worst thing that happened was that when Harry had spotted the Snitch again, Malfoy had taken the deliberate attempt to grab onto Harry's broom, pulling him back. Just seeing this made Brooklyn want to fly out there again and knock the brat off his broom. What a filthy cheating b…!

"Penalty! Penalty to Gryffindor! I have never seen such tactics!" Hooch screeched.

Lee was swearing again, calling Malfoy a dirty cheater, and to Brooklyn's surprise, McGonagall wasn't even trying to tell him off, for she too was glaring at Malfoy, shaking her finger in his direction. Now Slytherin was taking over the scoring, with Brooklyn praying for Gryffindor to win this last match!

"Angelina Johnson takes the Quaffle for Gryffindor, come on, Angelina! COME ON!"

Brooklyn's eyes widened in horror as nearly the entire Slytherin team was preparing to attack Angelina, hoping to block her…

But then his brother had his Firebolt zoom like a bullet towards them, making them all scatter, having Angelina score successfully, and he sighed in relief.

His sharp vision spotted the Snitch, with Harry going for it, Malfoy a few inches behind, cursing at Harry to move out of the way, Brooklyn gritting his teeth as Harry reached out with his hand…

"YEAH!" Brooklyn cheered in triumph, as Harry had gotten the Snitch to thunderous roaring cheers from the Gryffindor stands. He could hardly contain his happiness as he found himself in the midst of the crowd this time in the stadium, pulling his brother onto his shoulders, who held the Quidditch cup high in the air after a sobbing Wood handed him it.

"Yeh beat 'em, Harry! Wait until I tell Buckbeak!" Hagrid sobbed, holding a handkerchief.

This was the best moment for Brooklyn, compared to him being accepted at Hogwarts, and reuniting Harry with his godfather, the only other family member who truly cared as much as he did.

He and Harry went out to see Sirius later that evening, who gathered up his godson in his arms, saying how proud he was for him winning the match.

But then, Harry had an interesting question.

"Sirius, is it possible for me to turn into an animal like you?"

Sirius was quite surprised at this, but then gave a smile. "Well, your father had the ability to become an Animagus, so he probably passed that into you in blood. But it could be possible. It takes a lot of work trying to figure out what kind of animal you want to be."

"As long as he can become an animal he can defend himself in, I'll be willing to help," Brooklyn then said, putting a hand on his brother's shoulder.

The man then smiled more. If his godson could be an Animagus, like him, it would be a dream! Just like the old days with James! He then said that Harry's training will begin in the next month. The first step was having him imagine his animal form but would make sure he was still on time for his studies since the exams were on their way.

Brooklyn still had pricks of worry nagging him. He knew that all this meeting with Sirius would eventually reveal itself to the public, especially now that Harry was involved. He just hoped he would find Peter and bring this to a satisfying end, with him in Azkaban, and Harry leaving the Dursleys at last to live with real family.
