The Aftermath of The Murder of Colonel Bernard Mustard:
It was judgement day for Mrs Ella Peacock who was a socialite at the Florentine Villa on Tuscany Close and was on trial for murdering Colonel Bernard Mustard who was a resident there.
"I'd like to call Mrs Ella Peacock to the stand" said the barrister.
Ella made her way to the stand.
"Mrs Peacock how long did you know Colonel Bernard Mustard for?" she asked.
"About eighteen years" Ella replied.
" You were angry with Colonel Mustard why was that?" questioned the barrister.
"He tried to make a pass at me!" Ella responded.
"I see!" said the barrister.
"Could you kindly tell the court about what happened that night?" the barrister requested.
Ella nodded.
" We were in the ballroom and the Colonel asked me for a dance which I accepted but I knew that he was drunk as a skunk as I could smell the booze on his breath. While dancing he tried to kiss me! I told him several times to stop and pushed him away from me but he was still trying to make attempts of trying to kiss me! So in defence I stabbed him with my pen knife!" she told the court.
" Thank you Mrs Peacock" said the barrister as Ella was escorted back to the defence box accompanied by a prison officer.
After the defence and prosecution barristers had given their closing statements. The jury went and deliberated their verdict.
The next day dawned
"Could the defendant please stand" said the usher.
Ella stood up.
"Could the foreman of the jury stand" the usher asked.
The foreman of the jury stood up.
"Have you all reached a verdict that you all agree?" the usher questioned.
"Yes!" said the foreman of the jury.
"Do you find the defendant Mrs Ella Gertrude Peacock guilty or not guilty for the murder of Colonel Bernard Malcolm Mustard? the usher queried.
"Guilty!" the foreman of the jury responded.
"Mrs Ella Peacock you've been found guilty of the murder of Colonel Bernard Mustard. I sentence you to the gallows where you'll hung by the neck until death" the judge ordered.
Ella had shown no remorse for the crime she'd committed as in her mind she felt in her view the Colonel had already been warned once by her and was a strong woman and not to be messed with. In her opinion Ella had done the right thing.
