Takanashi residence, Tokyo Japan

"So her entire family is dead?" Risa asked in complete disbelief.

"Yes, I couldn't just leave her in an orphanage, no child should get that fate. Just the thought of being parentless shudders me." I said, I felt goosebumps grow on my back as I thought about it.

Risa sighed "Until she's of age we have to take care of her." Risa said, reluctantly agreeing with me. It was clear she didn't want to break our marriage over something that could very much be beneficial in the future. "But you will help me take care of her alright. Request to go into the reserves alright?" She asked.

"That's already done. I am in the reserves currently. A therapist may come by in the next few days." I said, we both sat there silently at the kitchen table till Risa got up.

"I'm going to sleep, it's getting late." Risa said, she stifled a yawn, got out of her chair and left the kitchen. I did the same and got ready to go to sleep.

That night I slept restless like the previous night before, the memories and the PTSD from the battle cropping up. It would always start when my tank was thrown in the sky and my friend who asked to be shot when his leg was stuck.

"Shoot me Takanashi!" My friend requested, "My leg is… stuck. Just shoot me Takanashi!" He asked me.

"I can get you out of there!" I said, but he would always stop me.

"There's no point in trying to save me." He said, so I would always pull out my gun and pull the trigger, but whenever I tried to get out of there, the entire area I was in turned to black and I found myself in a dark room with nothing in it.

Then I saw the walking corpse of my dead friend, "you shouldn't've done that." He said, then he jumped at me. But whenever it did I would always wake up with a cold sweat on my back, tear full eyes and the dream disappearing from my memory.

Sora just sat silent while class started, this would be the first time Sora would be sent to a public school. For her it would be a long day.

Imperial Palace, Remis Elven Empire

Earth Date, May 21st 2003

"You mean the Imperial advance invasion force was wiped out!" Elven Emperor Remis yelled in surprise, "Is this true?" He asked the golem operator.

"We were massacred. We were winning at first but then the ancient ones interfered. They disabled our gravity generators and then the barbarians attacked from the sky!" He said, eyes full of tears.

"Can we send a counter attack force immediately?" The emperor asked.

"No we can not sir we sent our elite mages on the other side to keep it open and for support but they got killed in the fighting." The aide reported.

"We cannot do anything as of right now." The emperor began racking his brain, a long term plan formulating in his mind. Then he came up with a plan "Begin increasing our industrial capacity and begin the investment of upgrading our current musket design to accommodate multiple bullets. Not only that, we began research in the usage of metals of our ships to increase their toughness and the idea of large cannons and high quality cannons. I will begin hashing out the details and submit a paper to the research committee." The emperor ordered, "Also you can what you feel like with the prisoners." The emperor added.

"Yes sir." The aide said, leaving the room to give out the orders.

"As for you, give the military a report on what the enemy used so we're prepared in the future." The emperor ordered.

"Yes sir." He said getting up, he saluted and left the throne room.

2 kilometers from Takami Lake

May 22nd, 2003

When the report came in that they found something the commander of the 6th division General Akira Kawasaki was surprised. They're orders were to clean up the mess that was Takami Lake.

"What do you mean you found something?" He asked the private.

"Sir, there seems to be a secret base under Takami Lake!" The private reported.

"A base? Take me to it immediately. I would like to inspect it myself." He said.

"Yes sir, follow me." He said the General then started to follow the private they first got into a Humvee, and started driving towards the former battlefield.

The first thing that he saw was the burned remains of trees, and then destroyed Type 90s came into view. The General got the report on the casualties that 95% of the 7th division was wiped out but he didn't imagine it would be this bad. He expected things to be more spread out but each tank was around 3 meters away from each other.

Then they arrived at the secret base it was a small bunker opening situated under a hill 100 meters below the ground, they entered the bunker they found themselves in front of an elevator, which promptly took them down further, what they found at the base was a battleship.

It bore the name "Yamato".

"The IJN Yamato!" The General exclaimed, It is widely accepted that she was sunk in the Philippines.

It was very clear the base was abandoned by the Imperial Japanese 60 years ago after their surrender to the Americans. It was like they were in a rush to hide things that they left a lot of equipment over.

But that was not it, the General was then shown something else. It was a strange object; it looked like a jet engine of sorts but that wasn't it.

"What is it?" The general asked.

"We have no clue, we're requesting scientists as of right now to figure out what it is." The private said.

"What do you think it is?" The General asked the private, the private flinched at the question as he wasn't prepared for it . But he was able to compose himself.

"I believe it's a device that can allow us to cross into different worlds going off of the recordings we found." The private said.

"Recordings?"

"Yes we're sending them to the research division as of right now."

"In the name of god." The General silently said to himself.

R&D main headquarters

An unspecified location in Japan

"What is this?" A scientist asked, "It's beyond anything we've seen, it's like it's from an alien race." The scientist added, the scientist turned his head to the American and Japanese General in the room.

"The main question is: Can it be used for military purposes?" The American asked.

"I believe so, it's just that we need to figure out how to activate the thing, and figure out how to fit it on our ships." The scientist said.

"If you need something ask. You want a nuclear reactor, you get a nuclear reactor. All you need to do is ask. This discovery has already been made to the president and Prime Minister." The American said.

Then the scientist gave off a smile of excitement, "I won't disappoint you sir!" He said, then he walked away to give his orders from the Prime minister and the president.

"He seems excited." The Japanese General Said.

"Well I know some scientists, when they find something new they get really excited. Some are more eccentric than others but I think it's good that we have scientists who don't act cold and heartless. It makes them seem more human than us." The American said.

The Japanese gave a small chuckle "So you're saying we got our way up to this rank by acting cold and calculating."

"You should know you have the rank. Well that's expected of us we have to give up some things for our people. Even if it's our humanity."

White House, Washington D.C, United States of America

May 21st, 2003

"So I mean we made a discovery of alien tech." The president was astonished at the discovery.

The idea of finding technology more advanced than your own technology was a gold mine, if you could figure out what allows it to work you'll gain a massive advantage over your enemies, even if they're in a weak state, "What do they request for the development of new technologies?" The president asked the aide.

"They request about 300 billion dollars for development." The aide reported.

"Consider it given although we do request what they find and give us the knowledge of how to work and make more of these things." The president ordered.

"Yes sir." He said, then left the president's office.

Prime Minister's office Tokyo, Japan

May 21st, 2003

The prime minister of Japan was in a somber mood, recently the 7th division was mostly wiped out; only 300 or so men survived. That was a large hit to Japan's limited military strength.

When he first heard of the 7th divisions total annihilating the only word that came to him was "impossible" the disbelief that the 7th division which was training with the Americans was massacred. But then the first images came to his desk. He immediately ordered the cover up and clean up of the battlefield, but the damage was too much to clean it up in a reasonable amount of time so, the government announced that a volcanic eruption occurred at Takami Lake and they were closing down the surrounding areas.

As expected many started to get suspicious, people who lived in the provinces did interviews with national and international news anchors about the entire volcanic eruption, but what they got was confused looks.

They said they were just suddenly kicked out of their homes for no specified reasons, some got eviction notices when they could easily pay their bills and rent, while others were just kicked out, the government tried to control the amount of information going to the people's ears, when that did happen rumors just like a wildfire began to spread.

There were conspiracy theories that the JSDF built a secret weapon that went off at the wrong time, others suspected aliens. The more nationalistic people began spreading rumors that America was the culprit of these notices to keep the people of Japan safe, the Americans attacked the JSDF while they were doing joint training and they believe war is coming. The Pro-Americans suspected this was done by the nationalists, but no one knew of the fighting against a foreign entity as no one is allowed within a 30 kilometer radius of Takami Lake.

Overall it was a complete mess as of right now, he hoped things calmed down by the end of this year and acted like nothing happened at all.

The Prime minister sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose in annoyance. It wouldn't be until an aide rushed into his office that threw him out of his thoughts.

"Prime minister, the Sixth Division has discovered an underground base under Takami Lake!" The aide reported.
