Jack hurried through the hall, needing to get to Henderson, but stopped for a moment as Chloe passed, calling her name.

"What do you need, Jack?" she asked, clearly wanting to get back to her station.

"Why did you lie to me?"

"What?"

"About Kim. When I saw you in Chicago you told me that she was doing better."

"Yeah, I also told you that she was heartbroken."

"You never told me that Chase left her."

"What would have been the point?" Chloe said, clearly annoyed at this point.

"The point is she is my daughter…"

"And you would have what?" Her voice was more than annoyed at this point. "Come back to L.A. Told her you were alive, and gotten her and a bunch of other people, including both of us killed." She took a deep breathe, "What should I have told you, Jack? That your daughter's life was a mess and there was nothing you could do to help her. What would that have done for you? Besides giving you something else to feel guilty about."

It was Jack who took a deep breathe now. "Your right. It's just…she's so different, so unhappy. I don't think she's going to forgive me this time."

Chloe's eyes softened, she tried for an encouraging smile, and "She will forgive you eventually. She's just angry now, it will fade with time." She thought, "Probably a lot of time, but."

"Yeah," Jack said, he looked down the hall, " I've got to go."

Chloe nodded and started back down the hall again. Again he stopped her.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you."

Chloe nodded, "It's been a rough day. I'll cut you some slack just this once."

Jack smiled at her once and they both walked off.
