Chapter 50:

The Legend of Victory Road

Location: Victory Road

Before I headed out, I wanted to do a few things. I got out some of my TMs.

"If we're going to take on N, let's fix you guys up." I got out TM30 for Shadow Ball that I found whilst I was at Relic Castle, which I taught to Lampent. "One more thing," I said. I got out the Dusk Stone Cheren gave to me, then gave it to Lampent. Sure enough, Lampent starting glowing and swirling about. The glowing died, revealing its final form. It was white, had multiple black floating arms with blue flames on the end and just looked sinister.

Chandelure (シャンデラ)

115

Ghost/Fire Type

Luring Pokémon

3'03" (1 m)

75.6 lbs (34.3 kg)

Being consumed in Chandelure's flames burns up the spirit, leaving the body behind.

Litwick -Lv 41- Lampent -Dusk Stone- Chandelure

The other one I got out was TM24, which contained Thunderbolt. I found this at the P2 Laboratory. Didn't mention either because honestly, I didn't want to go over all my pickups. Just the Gym Leader ones. I taught it to Gothitelle to give it a bit more coverage. Otherwise, I was fine with everyone else.

I went up to the fifth floor. There were two ways to go. Outside and upstairs. I wanted to go upstairs, but I was attacked. The Pokémon that I had to fight looked like a Deino, but it had two heads. It was also Lv. 50!

Zweilous (ジヘッド)

140

Dark/Dragon Type

Hostile Pokémon

4'07" (1.4 m)

110.2 lbs (50 kg)

After it has eaten up all the food in its territory, it moves to another area. Its two heads do not get along.

Deino -Lv 50- Zweilous

"Scrafty, go!" I shouted. "High Jump Kick!" Scrafty kicked the Zweilous in its right face, and it barely hung on. Zweilous covered itself in blue energy, then charged into Scrafty. "That was Dragon Rush! Okay Scrafty, let's finish this. Crunch!" Scrafty crunched down onto Zweilous, finishing it. That was a strong one.

I went upstairs to the sixth floor. I was almost at the top. Whilst I was doing all this, I still remembered I needed to look for Terrakion.

"Doing good guys," I said.

As I wandered through the dark cave, Ace Trainer noticed me. "You're almost there, but the obstacles won't stop stopping!"

Hilbert Vs. Ace Trainer David

"Okay Klang, I choose you!" he shouted.

"Gothitelle, go!" I yelled. Usually I would be switching, but I wanted to give my new moves a proper try. "Use Thunderbolt!" Gothitelle fired a bolt of lightning at Klang. It didn't quite do half.

"Klang, Discharge!" Klang fired electricity everywhere. Gothitelle was not just shocked, but paralysed.

"That's enough," I said. I recalled Gothitelle and sent out Excadrill.

"Klang, Mirror Shot!" Klang fired a clear beam at Excadrill. It didn't do much.

"Excadrill, Earthquake!" Excadrill jumped and made the earth tremor upon landing. Klang was taken out.

"Well, they don't call you the hero of Unova for nothing. Go Seismitoad!" David shouted. Deciding this wasn't a good matchup, I switched to Druddigon.

"Druddigon, Dragon Claw!" Druddigon swiped at Seismitoad. It didn't do as much as I wanted, so I knew I had to keep at it.

"Rain Dance!" Seismitoad made a rain cloud appear above us. It started raining indoors. "Now use Drain Punch!"

"What?" I shouted as Seismitoad quickly ran towards Druddigon and took back a lot of the Dragon Claw health.

"Yeah, my Seismitoad has Swift Swim. It increases Speed in the rain."

Deciding enough was enough, I switched to Samurott. It took a Drain Punch, and Seismitoad was back to full health. "Now use Scald!" Seismitoad fired hot water at Samurott. Samurott was burned in the process.

"Surf!" Samurott created a large wave that was stronger thanks to Rain Dance.

"Another Drain Punch!" Seismitoad punched Samurott in the face, gaining back more of its HP.

"Use another Surf!" Samurott created another wave. I was starting to get concerned. But then, the rain stopped. "Samurott! Seismitoad is slower now! Use one more Surf!" Samurott swamped Seismitoad once more, knocking it out.

"Darmanitan, go!" David's final Pokémon was a Fire Type. I felt like I had this.

"Surf!" Samurott surfed on another giant wave, but it didn't quite finish off Darmanitan.

"Hammer Arm!" Darmanitan slammed both hands down onto Samurott hard. It was out cold.

"Chandelure, finish it off!" I said.

"Flare Blitz!" Darmanitan charged into Chandelure covered in flames. It took recoil damage, but didn't quite go down.

"Shadow Ball!" Chandelure created a black ball, then fired it at Darmanitan. It was the final blow.

"Yeah, they really don't call you the hero of Unova for the sake of it. Thanks for the battle."

David walked off. Before I started to head outside, I noticed that a giant rock that could only be pushed with strength was now in a hole that led to another set of stairs and another room.

"Weird," I said. "It wasn't like this when I came up." I took it as a sign. But first, I wanted to check the room.

The room was small, but I had reached a certain destination. In it, was a quadruped brown Pokémon with two amazing horns and beefy legs.

Terrakion (テラキオン)

145

Rock/Fighting Type

Cavern Pokémon

6'03" (1.9 m)

573.2 lbs (260 kg)

Its charge is strong enough to break a giant castle wall in one blow. This Pokémon is spoken of in legends.

Legendary Pokémon.

"Terrakion, it's you," I said kneeling.

"Cut it out!" it said. "For Cobalion and Virizion, go on ahead. Not with me though. I'm not into that fancy stuff. What do you want?"

"Well…"

"Nah, don't bother! I heard through the grapevine that you're going to take on Reshiram. Let me guess, you came to see me for assistance."

I nodded. I told it about the message from Cobalion and Virizion.

"That's why you have to help. The entire region is on my side against Team Plasma, and if you could give me a hand, I would be so grateful."

Terrakion nudged me. Quite hard to. (If it could knock down a castle wall in one blow, I was scared about what it could do to me at full strength). "Well why didn't you ask me beforehand?"

"Because I was coming up here to meet you?" I replied.

"Good point…" it said. "Apologies. Well, I better get ready. I've opened up a shortcut to the final floor. See yah."

As it walked away, something was bothering me. "Wait!" I shouted. "I want to ask. Do you know… anyone else? Like, someone in training?"

Terrakion stopped. Just for a few seconds mind. In that time, this is what he said. "That's between myself, Cobalion and Virizion."

Terrakion was right; next to the chamber was another flight of stairs. The last one needed to reach the top. At the top of the stairs was just a small room with an exit, so I stepped outside.

I was at the top. All around me, I saw Unova stretch out to the sea, and the sea stretch out to the horizon. I took out the Dark Stone. "Our time is almost here. As soon as I'm Champion, I'm taking down N."

The other direction was a path. The path led to my destiny…

Location: Pokémon League

The golden structure towered above me. In the back was a large flight of stairs that led to a grand building with a round green roof. This was the place; the place that only Trainers that have earned all eight Badges in the Unova region can go and fight for their place as Champion. Tomorrow would be the day. I would sleep in the Pokémon Center tonight, in the stone building that was next to the entrance.

So. I have made it. I'm not only trying to become Champion to fulfill a dream, but to prove my worth to N and Zekrom. The Elite Four and Champion await me tomorrow; I can't help but feel a bit nervous.
