A few days after she had returned home, Apple was still locked in her room even though it was Christmas Eve.
"Apple, aren't you going to at least come out tonight?" asked Queen Snow White from the door.
"Fine, just know that you're throwing your life away over something foolish," she said after her daughter did not respond to her. Queen Snow White then walked away down the hall.
"How can she say that after everything she's told me?" asked Apple while sitting by the small fireplace in her room.
"Aaaaple," said a ghostly voice as a cold wind came down through the fireplace, instantly dropping the temperature in the room.
"Who… who said that?" asked a terrified Apple. The fire suddenly was blown out as a larger gust of wind came down, causing the room to darken.
"What… what's going on?" she asked as she shook more out of fear than from being cold.
"Aaaaple," said the voice again as a female ghost came through the stone of the fireplace.
"Who are you, what do you want from me?" asked Apple, while taking a few steps back until she bumped into her bed and fell back onto it.
"Do you not recognize your own grandmother?" asked the ghost.
"Gra… Grandma Gem?" asked Apple.
"It has been far too long since the last time we saw each other, but I'm disappointed that you have ruined your friendship with Raven," said Grandma Gem.
"You never even knew her," said Apple.
"It's sad to see that you forgot about it, but soon you will remember," said Grandma Gem.
"Tonight, three ghosts will visit you, learn from them and realize that this is the wrong path that you are taking," she said while vanishing.
"I must be tired, I'm starting to hallucinate things," said Apple as she noticed that it was eight at night. She then got up to light the fireplace before heading to bed.
