Hello again. A New Pencil has returned to the desk. Surprisingly faster than I thought I would.

For a first story posted online, I'm surprised to get a decent amount of reviews. I'll respond to a few:

Shadow Tiger24: Thanks, Shadow. You'll find out soon!

erickh120124: Thank you!

blueassassin996: Indeed it has. Let's take a breath and dive in.

Guest: Like I said in the previous chapter, I will add a new chapter when I feel it is ready. I wouldn't expect any consistent update schedule.

Captain Imaginat: I like your ideas, Captain. Having Disney villains as major antagonists again like in KH1 would be interesting to write. I know that Olympus and Hades have been teased to play a role in Kingdom Hearts 4, but for this particular story, you'll have to see just how much the Disney side of Kingdom Hearts is gonna show up here.

Guest: Perhaps. We do know Sora can see things like that, evidenced by when he saw Hans in Arendelle.

CallofRanger13: On that, we can both agree. Thanks for your input!

Now where was I? Oh yeah! Here's the next page of this story. Enjoy!

I do not own Kingdom Hearts, My Hero Academia, OMORI, or any of its characters.

Chapter 2: A Whole New World

With the rising sun, comes a new beginning… a new start, a new adventure

Silence.

That's all you hear.

But... where are you?

Slowly, you open your eyes.

You find yourself with a multitude of people in a black space, with peculiar clothing and many different faces, all looking at something in the distance. Curious, you also look in that direction. You see a large symbol. A symbol that appears to be shaped like a heart, engulfed in flames.

But then, as you gaze at it in all its glory, the flame suddenly dies out. And as you watch, the people around you appear to lose their color and become statues. Unmoving. Staring still at the distance.

All except you.

It's cold…

As you watch, a small ember escapes from the dying flames of the heart.

You don't know what to do.

But…

It seems like the embers are calling to you.

You walk towards it, cautiously.

Is it a trap?

You are now standing in front of it. It feels warm… The ember still appears to be calling to you. Beckoning you to touch its flames.

You stand there rooted. Should you do it?

It calls to you again, this time the call appears louder.

You decide that you have no other option. Should the ember die, then you too, would likely become a statue.

You thrust your hand into it, hoping for a miracle.

You feel something hot within the flames. A handle.

Gritting your teeth, you pull something engulfed in flames out of the fire, and without hesitation, you throw it behind you, and it swirls and swirls around, before pointing itself towards the other side.

The flames disperse, showing…

A key?

A sword?

You watch as the key suddenly fires a beam of light from the tip, which sails over the crowd of statues, before it hits something, unveiling a keyhole with light emanating from it.

(Play: KH OST - HIKARI - Simple and Clean Orchestral)

To your surprise, you suddenly see the statues regain their color, and begin to move again. They all turn towards the bright keyhole, looking up to see what it was.

The coldness from before has disappeared, leaving only… warmth… all around you.

As you look closer, you see something coming out of it.

Or rather… someone.

They appear to be engulfed in light as well, until they open their eyes, twirling around to face you and the others, revealing… a boy with spiky hair, likely younger than you. He appears to be floating on some glowing, golden dust.

He laughs, doing a loop in the air, before propelling himself forward, flying over everyone with a smile on his face. To your surprise, you find yourself to be light on your feet. You look down, only to see the glowing dust on your feet too! And it's lifting you up!

It seems everyone else is beginning to float too. Some of them twirl around themselves, feeling warm and fuzzy due to the light emanating from the keyhole. You see the boy whizz past some people, but to your surprise, he appears to be wearing different clothing, and is your age now! He suddenly flies past you, giving you a warm smile and laughing. You can't help but feel relaxed and welcomed by his warmth.

You see him fly past others, before he begins glowing once again, and this time, he propels himself skyward, and at the same time, in a flash of light, his appearance changes again, as the particles of light that separate from him turn into white birds that fly away. He spins around, looping another time before facing everybody, looking at them with the same warm smile.

You can't help but smile along with him, and you notice that the large key suddenly twirls again in an upward angle, before it descends towards the boy, who catches it in his right hand, twirling it around before placing it over his shoulder, wearing a large grin.

Your vision suddenly becomes blurry, and you see flashes of something… but you can barely keep up with it.

An island, with three kids running through the beach together, before the sky goes dark, separating them and blowing them away.

A spiral of stairs, with someone falling, reaching to another.

A figure stepping back from another, whose weapon is poised to strike. They disappear in a flash of light.

The same figure, wielding two blades, facing off against an older figure, wielding flaming circular weapons.

Finally, something more clear.

Two warriors clash with another, before being forced to block attacks from all sides, working together in tandem. One of them, you realize, is the boy with the warm smile. They appear out of steam, before their enemy thwacks one of them aside, before focusing on the boy. Just before they deal a killing blow, the figure that was thrown aside repels his attack, before pushing their comrade back, taking a hit for him. The boy grits their teeth, jumping back and grabbing their friend's weapon, before unleashing a torrent of blows towards his enemy, sending them skyward. The individual offers his blade to the other, and he grasps his hand. They fire a beam of light, evaporating their opponent in light.

Your eyes become clear as you feel something cold behind you. You and the others with you turn to see a figure in black, holding an orb of dark energy out towards you.

Before he can do anything, the boy lunges towards the figure, swinging his blade towards them, but they disappear, reappearing on a thin platform that rises higher and higher. In response, the boy beckons you and the others to follow, and you do. The boy puts a hand to his chest, before raising his blade skyward, sending out several orbs of light, which suddenly change and become people. Together, they, along with you and the others, land on the platform with the dark figure, who is now surrounded by twelve others.

Despite the fear you feel in facing them, you are ready to fight.

As you watch, the boy who had united them all twirls his weapon, before swinging it skyward, firing a beam of light to the heavens, which summons something bright. Before you know it, everything starts going white.

Desperately, you call out to the boy, asking them their name.

The boy looks to you, saying something inaudible, before your vision finally goes white. In your mind you hear something being said.

"Thank you."

(Silence)

When Sora opened the door, quite a few things happened.

For one, when Sora exited on the other side, he came out as a streak of light.

For another, the door appeared out of thin air high above a city. The problem was, Sora had lost consciousness the moment he stepped out that door. He slowly began descending down onto the city, falling gracefully.

His landing, however, was the opposite of how he fell.

"Mmmm…"

Sora suddenly regained consciousness, only to find his vision met with blackness.

Where am I?

He tried to speak, only to find his voice was muffled, and something wet but rough moved along with him as his lips tried to move. He felt stuck. He tried moving his hands, but found them to be stuck as well. He flailed his legs, which he felt were above him.

Yep. He definitely crash landed.

Sora planted his feet on solid ground, trying to pull himself out of the hole he had buried half of himself in. It took at least 10 seconds, before he managed to pull himself free, gasping for precious air.

"Huff… huff… note to self… never fall from high heights like that again…" he muttered. Rubbing his eyes, he looked around himself.

(Play: KH DDD OST - Traverse in Trance)

He appeared to be in the middle of a park. But it was nighttime, so street lights were on. Nobody appeared to be walking about. He was definitely in a city. But where, exactly? This definitely wasn't San Fransokyo or that weird place he was in when he was fighting Yozora.

But one thing was for sure: this was a new world.

He looked down, seeing the treasure chest which held Kairi's letter and who knows how many more from his friends. Sora quickly grabbed it, holding it in his hands, before it disappeared from his hands into his inventory.

I honestly don't know how that even works. Do I just summon it out of thin air? Where does it even go? I know I have some Munny in my pockets, and… Sora thought, before shrugging, Ugh. Forget it. Too much has happened today already…

He rubbed his temples. First it was the Keyblade War; then, it was his trip back in time to rescue Kairi; then, he went to fight Yozora, who nearly got the better of him, and now this.

Wait… Sora realized…Where are those other guys? The ones I talked to in the Final World? They should've followed me out of the Door.

He glanced around, trying to find a sign that they had followed him through the door. He squinted to try and see a sparkle of light, anything, to announce their presence. But there was nothing.

Did they not make it? I know they walked besides me when I opened the door, Sora thought, But… maybe their hearts couldn't handle it…. oh man…

Sora sighed dejectedly at the thought. He wanted to help them see what they had achieved, and he was so close to doing so. Now, they may never get the chance.

...

No.

They had a chance.

Through him.

Sora put a fist to the sky, looking up at the full moon. He said to himself, "I promise… to you… and to all of my friends… that I will see what our efforts have done for this world. And if we do ever meet again… Just know that I will remember everything that I've done while I'm here… and I'll do my best to tell you all about it. These promises are ones I will not break."

As he watched, he saw seven shooting stars fall from the sky. He smiled, putting his fist down, and lowering his head.

"May our hearts be our guiding key… right, Goofy?" Sora asked no one in particular.

He looked around again, getting onto his feet. Wherever he was, he needed to explore and find information on this brand new world.

Here we go, Sora. he thought, mainly to hype himself up, Time to explore!

Sora began walking towards a sidewalk. He saw a car pass by, before rushing towards a stoplight. He had seen many of these back in San Fransokyo, and he got in trouble for running the red light on more than one occasion. He stopped, waiting for the light to turn green.

That was when he realized something: Where was he supposed to go? He knew normally when he was in a new world that he would just walk along and explore until Heartless or some other monstrosity showed up and he'd take care of it. But here? Something felt different. He didn't know why, but something about this world felt… distant.

(Silence)

Why?

it didn't help that Heartless weren't showing up like they would in any other world. They could just be hiding in plain sight. Best case scenario, this world had its Keyhole closed already, so the Heartless had likely lost interest, since their main target would be the heart of this world, and it was protected by its Keyhole, which was most likely locked. Still, a large city like this would still be enough to attract a few Heartless here, so Sora would have to keep a sharp eye out for those creatures of darkness should they decide to appear.

That would mean that the only two enemies he had left to worry about attacking this world would be Nobodies or Unversed. However, according to Ventus, the only one who could summon and control those monsters of negativity would be Vanitas, Ventus and Sora's "brother", but he had been struck down by Ventus in the Keyblade Graveyard… that meant the Unversed would be out of the question.

Nightmare Dream Eaters too were also not enemies Sora was concerned would appear in this world. The only way that would be possible is if the world was in limbo, as a Sleeping World. Sora stretched out his hand to call out one of his own Dream Eaters, but found that he couldn't. However, if the Heartless were nowhere in sight, then Sora may need to rethink about where he was.

That left the Nobodies.

Nobodies could be led by a humanoid Nobody, but they can think and act on their own, unlike the Heartless, so they could come and go as they pleased without some stronger Nobody leading them. Though Sora couldn't see why they would even show up in this world unless ordered to by a humanoid Nobody, and many of those had perished in the final battle with Xehanort…

So what was a Keyblade wielder supposed to do if there were no enemies to fight?

Sora stopped himself, thinking, Calm down... you only just got here. It's not like they'll show up at any given moment. The war is done... so the darkness should back off for now... right?

He sighed. He was starting to miss Donald and Goofy even more, now. Normally they would be the ones to know what to do or where to go in these situations. But they weren't here with him. If only there was a way to contact them, like through a phone.

Wait…

(Play: KH 2.5 OST: Missing You)

His Gummiphone.

Sora quickly rummaged through his back pocket, before he felt something familiar. Taking it out, he found that his Gummiphone was indeed in his possession. He smiled. What a relief.

Sora turned it on, unlocked it, and started to dial Riku's number. He knew if he could call Riku, there's a chance to be able to call the King, and Donald, and Goofy! He might actually be able to go home in a couple of days!

He finally dialed the number, and waited for Riku to pick up.

He waited.

And waited.

But he got nothing.

"Sorry," Riku's voice said through Sora's Gummiphone, "But if you're hearing this, I'm currently not available at this time. I'm likely busy if you're trying to reach me right now. Please call at a later time, or leave a message after the beep."

Sora ended the call. He tried again two more times, only to get the same result. He tried contacting Ventus's number, to no avail. He tried with Chip and Dale… nothing. He tried Ienzo's number… the line went dead. After trying and failing to contact Kairi, Sora took a deep breath and accepted the truth.

He would not be able to contact his friends at all.

Was this a part of his punishment for misusing the power of waking?

Or was the connection of his Gummiphone severed from the others?

Sora shook his head. Even if he couldn't contact them now, that won't mean he'll stop trying. He'll try it again later. Right now, he had a world to explore.

The light turned green.

With a solemn sigh, Sora walked down the crosswalk, putting the Gummiphone away. The first thing he should do, he concluded, was look for a map of this place, so he can get better acquainted.

He did some searching, walking through the empty streets, save for a few cars and late-night pedestrians. He passed by some interesting shops, many of which were closed, and even passed a mall, which was also closed. There were signs all written in strange characters, similar to the ones in San Fransokyo, and thankfully, Sora could understand what they were saying to an extent. According to Hiro and his robot, Baymax, this language was Japanese, and Sora took some time to learn some of it during his time with Big Hero 6 to get more accustomed to the world itself, but despite being able to hold a decent conversation with the language, there were still hiccups to his knowledge.

As he looked to the moon, Sora deduced that it was likely late in the night, probably close to midnight. He should probably stop and get some rest somewhere. Perhaps he would get a better understanding of where he was tomorrow.

But who would bother to let him in their own home? It's not like him to knock on the door and ask for shelter. That would be weird in itself, and Sora isn't that kind of person to barge in and ask for something abruptly.

(Silence)

Sora eventually decided to return to the park. It took him some time, but he finally managed to navigate his way back to it. It was only then he noticed the hole his top half of his body had made in the ground. Sora winced. That must've been a terrible landing; he probably fell from the sky head-first.

Strange. That happened to him before, after using the Door to the Light to exit the Realm of Darkness.

Never mind that. If that hole wasn't taken care of, people would start asking questions. Sora quickly went to it, using his hands to grab the dirt that was close to him after his impact, and pour it over the hole. It only covered the hole halfway, though, and Sora sighed, seeing that he had no other dirt to work with, so he let it be. He did what he could.

Sora found a bench and sat down, contemplating on what had happened before he had come here. He decided to at least record what had happened over the course of the time between when he left his world and entered this one. He pulled out his Gummiphone again. Jiminy used to write and update information on Sora's adventures in his trusty Journal, but has since implemented them into Sora's Gummiphone on the beginning of their third great journey. Since the little cricket wasn't here to help him record his adventure, Sora decided to do it himself.

(Play: KH BBS OST: Destiny's Union)

He looked at the contents of Jiminy's previous entries, looking over the last one recorded before Sora's abrupt departure. It chronicled some of the events after the Keyblade War. How Jiminy had returned to Disney Castle with Mickey, Donald, and Goofy to celebrate; how Ventus, Aqua, and Terra had returned to the Land of Departure after a decade; how Roxas, Lea, and Xion had found Isa and returned to Twilight Town; and how Riku picked up Namine after she was restored miraculously.

Finally, he found what he was looking for: the entry describing the party at Destiny Islands, and then ending with the fact that they saw Sora and Kairi, with Riku going up to join them, only to find, to their surprise and dismay, that Sora had faded away soon after.

Sora sighed again, before tapping on his Gummiphone to add a new page to the journal. Without hesitating, he began to type what had happened after he disappeared. His battle with Yozora; his encounter with the seven shining figures, and his arrival here. Though he wasn't as good as describing things like Jiminy did, he felt he did a decent enough job.

When he had finished, he decided to climb up on a large tree, finding a comfortable branch to lie down in. Since he didn't want to use a bench, and lying down on the ground just seemed like the wrong thing to do out in public, Sora decided to stay hidden while sleeping. He had had enough happening to him today so he didn't want any more attention on himself.

Slowly, but surely, he closed his eyes, and let sleep take over.

(Silence)

He awoke to the sounds of birds chirping in his ear. He groaned, stretching his arms up, and rolling onto his front to get into a more comfortable sleeping position.

Unfortunately, he completely forgot he was sleeping on a tree branch, and when he rolled over, he started to fall, causing him to wake up mid-fall as he bounced off another branch and crashed face-first onto the ground below with a loud thud.

Groaning, Sora got into a sitting position, rubbing his face in exhaustion. Why do I always keep falling off of high places?

When his vision was clear enough, he noticed that it was morning. People were up and about walking to destinations unknown. A few people gave him confused looks before going on their way; they definitely had seen him fall from the tree, but paid little attention to it.

He got up, rubbing the back of his head. That hurt.

"Okay…" he began, "I should probably go and look for a map now… or something that'll help me figure out where I am."

(Play: KH3 OST: The Afternoon Streets)

He went about on his way again, this time able to properly see the city in full. After walking a few blocks, he looked around again, this time finding a sign.

"Welcome to… Mustafu?" Sora wondered, "Huh… that's quite a name for a city."

Then again, there was a city called San Fransokyo, which was in itself a whole world. And another city called Monstropolis. Was the world he was in called Mustafu?

Sora had one piece of the puzzle, but he needed to find out more. He needed a place with a wealth full of information that he could look at.

Sora knew what he needed to look for next.

Without hesitation, he began jogging towards his objective, being ever so careful to not run over or crash into people during his search. He found many other signs that named certain streets, and Sora made note of which ones led back to the park. He would have to stay there to tuck in for the night since he didn't have any other place to sleep. Sora passed by a few cafes, apartments, and people. All of which were interesting, but Sora had no time to admire it in full.

Speaking of the people, one thing Sora had to note was that some of them looked between a mix of human and animal. Others seemed to look like alien creatures from Monster City. It excited him to no end. Sora had been to many worlds, each one different from the last. One world had him transform into a Merman-dolphin hybrid, another transformed him into a lion, and one even transformed him into a toy! Despite all the wacky things Sora had seen through his adventures, he would never cease to be amazed by all the things in a new world. This one here was no exception.

Finally, after turning on a street, Sora found what he was looking for: a library. It was in the center of two tall buildings, and not many could recognize it, as many people passed by it without paying any heed. Sora knew that inside the library was a wealth of information on this world, and there he would find the answers he sought.

Initially, when he had first arrived, Sora was tempted to ask the locals where he was, but then reconsidered it, as they would be completely confused by why he would ask that. He would normally do something like that, but during those times, he normally had Donald and Goofy with him to help him preserve the world order. Sora never did keep his mouth shut during those times, and here, now that he was all alone, Sora needed to keep quiet about the world order as much as possible, or he'd never hear the end of it from Donald when he returned.

(Silence)

"'Faraway Library,' huh?" Sora thought, "Wonder what's inside."

Sora went into the door, opening it. As he went inside, he took in the surroundings. It seemed like there were books to look at, many of which appeared to have pictures on them. He also saw a desk up front, where on it stood a young woman looking over a book. She seemed to be wearing a pink button-up shirt, and had long black hair cascading down her back. Sora figured this was the person to go to ask some questions. He walked up to her, waiting for her to notice him.

(Play: OMORI Ost: By Your Side)

The woman looked up from her book, surprised by his arrival. "Oh! Hello! Welcome to Faraway Library!"

She was speaking in Japanese, and Sora was glad he could understand her. He grinned, and spoke up in Japanese himself, though not as fluently as her, "Hi. I'm Sora. I'm here to look for books about the city… Mustafu, right?"

"Ah," the woman looked at him, "Are you new here?"

"Yes." Sora sighed, "Was it that obvious?"

"Hai," The woman could tell that the boy in front of her didn't have Japanese as a first language, so she cleared her throat and spoke in English this time, "Can you understand me when I speak like this?"

Sora was relieved when she changed her language to English, and he responded in kind, "Yeah. Whew! I'm still not used to talking in Japanese a lot."

"No worries!" she giggled, "I'm just glad I can put my English skills to good use!"

"Say, what's your name?" Sora asked.

"Oh, me? My name is Mari. Mari Hidaka," she introduced herself, "Nice to meet you… Sora, wasn't it?"

"Yep! That's my name!" Sora grinned, "You got it right!"

"Wonderful!" Mari clapped her hands together.

"You, uh… don't mind speaking in English for me, right?" Sora asked politely. He didn't want her to force herself to speak a language that she probably learned after Japanese.

"Nah. I don't mind." Mari replied nonchalantly, "You're actually the first person who I've seen enter this library and actually speak English as a first language other than my friends."

"Really?"

"Yes. Everyone here in Japan that isn't a tourist or international speaks Japanese as their first language," Mari replied, "But I've always found a fascination with English, even if it isn't my mother tongue. Though, there aren't many I can speak English to besides my close friends and my brother. Besides them, everyone else I know will just look at me and laugh,"

So Sora was in a place called Japan. And it was likely Mustafu was a city in this land, or world, whatever this place was. But Sora would focus on that later.

"Really? Wow, I'm sorry about that." Sora replied, "I'm glad I was able to help you in that way, then."

"Of course! But that doesn't mean I don't like speaking Japanese either. I love using both." Mari smiled warmly, "So… books regarding Mustafu, yes?"

"Oh yeah." Sora said, "Do you know where they are?"

"Right this way," Mari said, beckoning Sora to follow her. Sora did, as she walked over to a certain section of the library. "Ta-da! Right here! You'll find everything there is to know about Mustafu! From the government, to their laws. Everything in-between!"

"Thank you, Mari," Sora smiled.

"My pleasure." she bowed her head, "Just come back to the desk if you need me."

"Sure! Thanks!" Sora replied, and she returned to the front of the desk. She was such a nice young woman, and she was definitely older than he was. Probably nineteen, given her height. Just slightly older than Aqua.

Maybe physically. Aqua's technically 10 years older than she looks. Sora thought. Though… he had a strange feeling saying something like that in front of the blue-haired Keyblade Master would likely not end well for him.

Sora went through the aisle and examined the books. He picked out a few of them that looked promising, including one about "Quirks"... whatever they were.

He walked towards a nearby table that was in the middle of the aisles and close to where Mari's desk was, and placed his books down on the table, intent on reading at least one of them. He opened the book regarding "Quirks".

If there was one thing that Sora disliked the most, it was reading books with very long and detailed paragraphs. Sora sighed as he put his hand on his head. He could read them, but stuff like this was kinda boring. It felt dull compared to the adventurous books he read in his younger days.

Sora was able to get this information: It seems that Quirks were some sort of "genetic mutation," that gave people special abilities, the first one being a glowing child. Sora guessed that this meant this world had people with special superpowers, which were apparently called "Quirks" in this world. They normally manifest around their infant lives, though there are cases of late bloomers. Eventually, the variety of Quirks multiplied over time, and after a brief period of chaos, people began using their Quirks to do good. Not surprisingly, these people would eventually go to become Heroes, and over time, the term, "Hero" became a job in the world, which Sora learned was called Earth.

Strange. Stitch came from a world called "Earth" as well. Was this Stitch's world?

No… that couldn't be right… but…

If this world was filled with Quirks that act like powers, then Sora could easily fit in with his own powers. He just needed to know how to explain it, then keeping the world order should be a cinch.

Unless the Heartless showed up. Then it would probably get complicated.

(Play: OMORI OST: See You Tomorrow)

Sora looked up from his book as he heard the door open again. He turned to see another young woman with a young man behind her. They seemed to be as old as he was. The girl had pink hair with a handkerchief wrapped over her head like a headband, wore a black shirt with a white jacket over it, and had blue shorts, while her companion had blonde hair and wore a light-green vest over a white shirt, and had tan shorts. He also had a white flower on his head.

"Hi, Mari! We're back!" the pink-haired girl replied in English.

"Ah! Aubrey! Basil! Good to see you!" Mari smiled widely. Sora deduced these must be some of her friends, though they did appear younger than she was.

"Likewise…" the blonde named Basil replied politely.

"How was your day today?" she asked them.

"Pretty great, all things considered," Basil said, "Almost got lost at the mall, but thankfully, Aubrey helped me find my way to the plaza outside."

"That's sweet of you, Aubrey."

"It was nothing," Aubrey shrugged, "He did pay for both of our lunches. I had to pay him back somehow."

"I-I still appreciate it, Aubrey," Basil stammered.

"Where's Sunny? I thought he was with you." Mari asked them.

"He was. He went back home after lunch. Said something about helping Kel with summer homework since Hero's unavailable." Aubrey replied, "I have to say, Hero's cooking talents have only gotten better. He might be able to help out Lunch Rush at U.A. if he's lucky."

"We'll see,"

"Anyways, how was your day, Mari?" Basil asked.

"It's getting better. Someone's stopped by. He's still here, actually," Mari replied, causing the two newcomers to see Sora watching them from afar, "Don't worry, he can understand us even when speaking English. He's over there reading."

"Hiya!" Sora waved at them, "Don't mind me."

Basil waved back shyly, but Aubrey remained indifferent, nodding her head.

"I see. That's the first one in a while, Mari." Aubrey said, turning back to her friend, "Kinda lame that people are reading from audiobooks now. I'm glad at least a few people are still going to libraries."

"Yep," Mari smiled, though it faded slightly, "Though even then… It does get a bit lonely here. There's not as many customers as there used to be,"

Aubrey and Basil looked down begrudgingly. Sora looked at them perplexed. He knew that there weren't many people who went inside Faraway Library, save for himself, Aubrey, and Basil, but does this mean he was the only one here?

"I'm sorry…" Basil said sadly, "I feel like we should visit you more, Mari."

"No worries, Basil. I still like it here," Mari reassured him, "And we still see each other even after my shift is over. No need to be in college during the summer after all."

"That's true," Basil smiled softly.

"Still… It kinda sucks to see that the library's pretty much empty." Aubrey replied, "I guess I can stay here a while."

"I will too." Basil added.

"Thank you both," Mari smiled, "If you're looking for Horror genres, you know where to look Aubrey. And the Garden books should've moved to an aisle on your right, Basil."

"Okay!" both of them replied cheerfully.

(Silence)

Sora watched them with a smile. They kind of reminded him of his friends back home. He wished they were here with him to see this new world.

He went back to reading, looking now at a section regarding laws regarding Quirks. Sora read through some of it, but much of the wording didn't make any sense to him. The only thing he got out of it was that using a Quirk in public was against the law, unless you were in an emergency situation, therefore you could use your Quirk to defend yourself. It seemed as though only Heroes with Hero Licenses could use their Quirks freely and legally.

It seems that Sora knew what he had to do next if Heartless were around.

Though how would he do it? Were there certain requirements?

"Whatcha reading?" a voice asked as someone placed an arm on his shoulder.

(Play: KH 2.5 Remix OST: A Walk in Andante)

"AH!" Sora shouted, jumping back.

"Oh my goodness! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to startle you." Mari said, hands in front of her.

"Oh. I didn't know it was you, Mari." Sora sighed, "Thanks for the heart attack…"

"You're welcome," She grinned, putting a finger to her mouth, "And please keep quiet. We are in a library, remember?"

"Oh right." Sora sheepishly rubbed the back of his head.

"All's forgiven, Sora." Mari smiled, before looking over to the book he was reading, "Studying about Quirks, are we?"

"Yeah," Sora nodded, "Just going over the basics and the general things about them."

"I see. Are you pursuing a career in Quirk Studies?"

"No. I'm just trying to understand them," Sora said honestly.

"You don't know about Quirks?" Mari asked him, raising an eyebrow.

"Not really. I'm an islander," Sora confessed, "I live… pretty far away… and we never knew their proper name for our powers or why they came. It's a long story."

"Mmm. Very well, I won't pry if you don't wish to talk about it right now," Mari nodded.

"Thanks, Mari." Sora replied, "I'll be happy to talk about the island itself anytime, though."

"You'll come back?"

"Yep. I'd like to read some more of these books."

"That's nice of you, Sora." Mari smiled again, "I'd like to hear what it's like there."

Sora nodded, before asking, "Those two guys that came in just now. Were they some of your friends over there, Mari?"

"Yes. The one in pink is Aubrey Howard. The shy one is Basil Delaney," Mari replied, "They're mainly friends with my little brother, Sunny. But I regard them as friends too, and vice versa."

"They sound like good friends," Sora smiled.

"They are. We've known each other since childhood."

Sora hummed at the statement, before looking back at the book. Mari sat down next to him and pulled out the book she was reading at the desk. The two were silent for a moment, but it was a friendly sort of silence.

"So I heard that you don't get many people here." Sora replied, "Something about 'audiobooks'?"

"Oh, that?" Mari giggled, "Aubrey was exaggerating. Though it is true that not many people go inside here. It's normally at it's craziest when school starts again, but in the summer? Hardly. At best, there are 10 people who stick around, but normally there's only three people that come and go during my shift here, excluding my childhood friends, that is."

"Oh… I'm sorry to hear that." Sora said. "I wish there was something I could do to help."

"It's fine, Sora. I actually like the quietness here. It lets me get myself lost in the wonders of the stories books have to offer." Mari replied, "Even though it does get a little lonely when my friends aren't around."

"You have room for one more, then?" Sora asked.

"Huh?"

"I see you as a friend now." Sora smiled, "You helped me find what I was looking for."

Mari was taken aback by Sora's words, "I was only doing what I needed to do during my shift, though I did want to help."

"And that's exactly why I see you as a friend." Sora replied, "Thanks again, Mari. I owe you one."

Mari hummed a bit, looking thoughtfully at the boy in front of her. He was a really nice fellow, especially given after what he said earlier. Not many people talked with her like this, since there wasn't any that came into the library anyways. But Sora was different from the others. He not only talked as if he was talking to a friend, he even felt like one already.

"If that's the case," Mari smiled softly, "Then I'd be happy to have you as a friend, Sora."

"WOOHOO!" Sora jumped in the air in joy, before remembering where he was, dropping down back to his chair comically, "Oops." he whispered.

Mari burst out laughing at this. Not only was Sora nice. He was also funny, too.

"It's alright, Sora. No need to apologize," she said after she calmed down, "You kinda remind me of Kel, in the way you act."

"Really? What's he like?" Sora asked, now intrigued by this Kel.

"Well…"

Mari began talking about her friends, starting off with Kel Diaz. Kel was a very energetic boy, around Sora's age, and loved to play basketball. Kel was pretty much a copy of Sora in all but appearance, being very kind to others and very sociable. Apparently he was also pretty tall, almost as tall as his older brother, Hero.

Apparently, Hero was really passionate when it came to basic work like cooking and baking, despite his parents wanting him to become a doctor. Sora agreed that Hero should follow his heart and do what he wishes to do, and that if he tries hard enough, he'll prove to his parents that the path he's chosen is the one he wants to tread.

Speaking of Hero, Mari seems to value him highly, similar to how highly Sora valued his friends, Kairi and Riku. Though he did notice that Mari was looking dreamy when speaking about him. Sora wondered what exactly that meant.

"I can't wait to have some of Hero's cooking if I ever meet him," Sora replied.

"Oh you'll love it. His cooking's the best." Mari agreed.

"Talking about Hero, aren't we?" Aubrey's voice came out of the blue, and the two looked to find Aubrey and Basil walking to their table, "Yep. Hero's cooking skills are in a league of their own. Heck, it could be his Quirk if that was the case."

"There are Quirks like that?" Sora asked, as Aubrey and Basil sat across from them.

"Yes," Basil replied, "Quirks come in all shapes and sizes. But you should know that, right?"

"Uhh…" Sora looked uneasy. Thankfully, Mari saved him.

"He's an islander. Probably didn't see any Quirks like that where you're from, eh, Sora?" Mari told them.

"Y-Yeah. That's right. Most of the Quirks I saw were strength based," Sora replied, coming up with that lie on the fly.

"That's understandable," Aubrey nodded, "I take it that Mari's told you about us?"

"Only your names." Sora smiled, "I'm Sora, by the way. Nice to meet you… was it Aubrey?"

"Mhmm. Nice to meet you too, Sora. I'm glad there's another person here who's comfortable speaking English. Japanese isn't my strong suit, either."

"It's no biggie." Sora replied, "And you're Basil, right?"

"Uh-huh." Basil replied shyly, "I'm glad Mari has a friend like you."

"Hey, you're my friends, too. Any friend of Mari's is a friend of mine," Sora grinned.

"Great." Aubrey snickered, "Looks like Kel's got some competition."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Sora asked with an accusatory tone.

The four of them laughed, Sora more than the others. It was a wonderful feeling to be able to talk to people in this world. It helped to fill the void and cope with the fact he was stranded on this world with no way to come back. Regardless, Sora knew that these were people he would protect to the bitter end.

That was a promise.

The rest of the day was spent talking about each other, mainly Aubrey and Basil. They talked about how they met one another, and also about hilarious antics that they went through and pulled off. Sora could easily tell that the bond that the six friends shared was a very strong one. One that wasn't going to break anytime soon.

In turn, Sora told a little bit about himself. How he was an islander in one of the surrounding islands, whose inhabitants weren't so keen on seeing what was beyond their tiny island, and Sora, being the adventurous one there, had decided to pay a visit to the mainland to see what it was like, and what better way to do it than to start there. Mari was happy that Sora had chosen to come here to Mustafu, and so were Aubrey and Basil.

Finally, it was time for Mari's shift to end, prompting Sora to go off and leave as well.

"Tell Sunny I said hi!" Sora called out to them as they walked away.

"I will! See you tomorrow!" Mari called out, walking with Aubrey and Basil back to their house. Sora grinned as he watched them walk away.

He looked up to the sky. Though it was late in the afternoon, for Sora, the day was still young. He turned to Faraway Library, pulled out his Gummiphone, and took a picture of the library, so as to remember where it was the next time he visited.

He decided to take a longer route back to the park. As much as he liked Faraway Library, Sora knew there was more to this place than meets the eye. He couldn't pull off anything stupid right now, because people would ask questions. So instead of running up buildings using his Flowmotion, Sora decided to walk around normally like a regular person.

To be fairly honest, walking in the city felt very strange to him. Normally, Sora would be running about looking for new places to explore, but now, after reading the laws about Quirks, he felt… restricted. It did bother him, but even if there were laws about not using his "Quirk", that wasn't going to stop him from helping as many people as he can.

He did not know how long he walked, but when he looked up again, the sky was getting orange. He knew what to do now.

As he walked down a street, he then turned to an alleyway, and without anyone looking, Sora leaped on a wall and ran up the side of the building, wanting to have a higher view of the place.

When he reached the top, it was a sight to behold.

The city in itself was awesome from below, but above here, at the top, the buildings coupled with the setting sun made it look marvelous and beautiful. Though the sunset was nothing compared to Twilight Town's, and the buildings had yet to show any competition to San Fransokyo's, the city of Mustafu had an unsaid beauty of its own, and it wasn't just the Quirks. Sora went over to the edge of the building he was on and sat down on it.

Upon thinking of Twilight Town, Sora's thoughts went to his Nobody and surrogate brother Roxas. All his life, Roxas had wanted to be normal, and live a normal life. He had never asked to be a Keyblade wielder, just like Sora, but though Sora took on the responsibilities of it with a smile and without much complaint, Roxas began to dislike the Keyblade, as it served as the binding reason for why he was with the notorious Organization XIII in the first place.

Though Roxas, along with his friends, Xion and Axel, now known as Lea, are now free from the clutches of Organization XIII and could now live normal happy lives… well, as normal as a Keyblade wielder's life could get… the scars and the hurt would remain with them. Sora knew it wouldn't stop them from doing what they liked to do best, and only hoped that Roxas was happy now. After what he had to go through, he deserves to live like a real person should.

Sora then decided to check his inventory again. He needed to make sure he had everything with him. First, he checked his pockets, and pulled out five identically-shaped trinkets from his left pocket. He looked downcast as he saw two of them were cracked, pulsing weakly, therefore putting them out of use for now until he could find someone who could repair them. He also pulled out Kairi's good luck charm, holding it close before putting it back safely.

He then checked his left butt pocket, and found it empty where there should've been keychains. There was one other, but when he looked at it, he felt a sense of slight disappointment. He sighed. Looks like switching keychains wasn't a problem now, since all but one of them were gone from his arsenal. Must've been lost upon his arrival into this world.

He checked his right pocket and found a couple of strange, small jars and blue cubes, recognizable, but not as many of them as before, due to his fight with Yozora. Sora then pulled out a very strange gold coin, nodding to himself, flipping the coin, and putting it back safely in his right butt pocket. As he put the coin there, he felt something else that had been in the pocket.

He pulled it out, revealing a very familiar card. He gasped softly in recognition as he looked at it.

"I suggest you hang on to it. Who knows what it could do… turn the tables for you, perhaps? Even I am ignorant to its true purpose. But… perhaps you will be able to uncover the secret." The words of the Gambler of Fate echoed in his mind, and his thoughts wandered a bit when he looked at the card, before he shook his head and placed the card back where he had found it along with the golden coin.

He lifts a part of his jacket up, thumbing three accessories attached to the back of it. He noticed something different about one of them, but shrugged it off. He then rolled up his sleeves to find a red, thin ribbon on his right side, and a yellow, thicker ribbon on his left. He sighed in relief. At least they weren't damaged.

Sora pulled out his Gummiphone, updating the journal section of it. He sighed. He didn't know the difference in time this world was compared to the other worlds he'd been to before. How long would it be until his friends found him?

Would it be days? Weeks?

Years?

He had no way of knowing, but until answers were found, he would do his best here to keep this world safe from the darkness.

Even then, he decided to leave a voice message to his fellow Guardians of Light. He knew it would likely not send, but hey, it never hurts to try, right?

"Hey guys," Sora said to the Gummiphone, "It's me. Sora. If you get this message, then I'm probably stranded on another world. I don't know how it happened, but I was able to use the Door to the Light to exit out of the place I ended up in after I faded away. I dunno the world's name, but I know I'm in a city named Mustafu. If it rings any bells for any of you, then you'll probably know where to find me.

"The world so far kinda reminds me of San Fransokyo, but the buildings aren't as technologically advanced as the ones in Hiro's world. Still, this place has got a nice sunset, though it's got nothing on Twilight Town's. I think Roxas, Axel, and Xion would like eating ice-cream here, too, in case they ever get bored with Twilight Town.

"I also made some new friends here. One of them is Mari. She's super nice and helpful. She also has some friends that I got to know, like Aubrey and Basil. Aubrey seems to be the headstrong type, and Basil's pretty shy. I'll probably learn more about them tomorrow when I see them." Sora replied, "But honestly, it's going to be tough being here for a while with no way to get out of this world. But I trust you guys are doing well and living out your lives. I can't wait to hear all about it when you guys find me.

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about the letters you guys sent me." Sora continued, "I read Kairi's first, and I think that allowed for the Door of Light to appear in front of me. Thanks again, Kai. I owe you one. I'll be reading the rest of your guys' letters as soon as I can, so I'll thank you all after I read em. Well… I guess that's it for now. I'll be sending another message tomorrow. Take care, guys!"

Sora stopped the recording, and pressed send. He turned it off, knowing that it may likely not be sent at all, but that didn't stop him from hoping that it would. As long as he remains optimistic, he won't fall into despair and succumb to the darkness again. He stared out into the sunset longingly as it went down to announce the day's end.

I did what I could. I used the power of waking, despite the warnings, and used it to save everyone from the darkness. I don't care if I'm supposed to vanish or be stranded in another world without a way to traverse the Oceans Between. At least it's better than staying in an endless world of sea and sky. I know that even if I don't find a way back, my friends will find me.

I guess that means I'll have to look for new people to talk with.

That won't be hard, but… it's not the same without Donald and Goofy.

Man… I miss you guys a lot. I hope you'll find me soon.

Until then… I'll make the most out of my new life here.

Our hearts will always be connected, no matter where we are, or what happens to us.

May my heart… be my guiding key.

(Silence)

And that's a wrap for Chapter 2! Now we've got Sora making a... less than graceful arrival in the world of My Hero Academia, and now meeting up with... characters from OMORI? In My Hero? That's right, ladies and gents, the characters of OMORI are making a surprise debut here in A World Beyond! Like Sora, they will be altered slightly from their canon selves, especially with the elephant in the room that is Mari. It was the recommendation of a friend of mine, and I thought it would be interesting to cover.

Now that's gonna spill a lot of questions for OMORI fans, and they will be answered as time passes.

Lastly, we also got a sneak peak at what Sora's inventory looks like after his fight with Yozora. I wonder if you can find out what he has in his arsenal? Feel free to take any guesses as to what Sora has equipped for this new journey!

What did you think about this chapter? Feel free to critique it and the previous one if you like. If this story isn't for you, I'm sorry, and I hope you'll find a story you love reading should you choose not to continue reading this one.

Thanks for reading this chapter, and until our paths cross again.
