Dawn of War: Where They Belong

The end is in sight when all is before your eyes. Through the pain and suffering, you still stand tall and continue to move forward until you fall. Let nothing hold you back when you are so close to achieving your goal.

Chapter 11: Section 11 - 1

The landscape is dusty and silent; it is ready to host the coming war. Hope vs despair and light vs dark. Everything now hangs in the balance. The time for waiting is over. Time has been coming and going. This is the war that Malice has wanted; the followers of Malice have done as he wants to ensure all would be ready for him to grasp power. The world and surface is quiet; there is nothing going on until the sound of a foot stomping shakes the area. The green horde manages to to use their busted roks to set up the best defenses around the area. They number in the millions and growl with such joy. They didn't know what to expect, but in a few weeks, they turn the land around them into a strong fort. The horde of War Boss Tharacka stands ready to give a good fight to the enemy. Several war chiefs have set up many towers and watch towers. With only one ork ship flying just above the planets, many more of them are teleported to the surface by use of a weird-boy. As they continue to make use of their time, Tharacka makes sure they remember what is coming.

He says, "We'z com ere fo da figh of our life. Dis planet will be da bezt waaagh dat haz eva happen ta da orkz. So, keep ya choppaz and shootaz readi boyz. We got humies, eldar, grey-skin, and even marine boyz comin' ere. So, we need ta be readi. It iz time fo sum killin'. Gork and Mork will be watchin' uz, and we can't let em down. Dis righ and proper waaagh will be da greatest. Foot-stompas, head-crushas, burna-boyz, rokket-boyz, speed-freakz, and all boyz of da ork settlemeetz. I hope ya readi fo ah real WAAAGH!"

The whole ork horde roars, "Waaaagh!"

The ork ship is heavily reinforced with armor, rock, and guns. It would not go down as easy as it did last time. There would be pay back for what the imperial guard did; War Boss Tharacka didn't forget what they did to hurt the orks. He survied his encounter against them, but this time, the others would not survive against his rage. High above the planet and far away from them, the aeldari watch them to see what the orks would do. Though the orks know of their ship, Tharacka is not fool. He welcomes the challenge and continues to let his millions of boys set up. At the Faded Light, they continue to watch. They knew there would be orks here, but not as many as this.

Farseer Xiwe says, "It would seem fate is not kind to us. The enemy out-numbers us greatly and await for us to attack."

Veldoran adds, "The orks are using a clever defense tactic and expect us to attack. We would do well to set our ship down on the planet and build up."

Kayleth and Shelia approach only to hear the annoyance from Xiwe, who says, "I hope you are here to fight for your kin than run away or hide. The enemy is here and they await us."

Shelia bows and replies, "We can face the ork horde any time. I know why we are here. If we can eliminate the Sons of Malice first, then this will be easy for us. I have secure the tau cooperation with words of promise for a new planet."

Kayleth says, "And I have made sure the humans will be here to deal with the orks for their own expansion. With our pawns ready to attack the enemy, we have more than enough time to prepare for the real threat."

The Faded Light journeys to the surface of the planet far from the ork horde. It is going to be a long fight they must face against the coming threat. Xiwe uses the warp to try and locate where the Sons of Malice are at. Veldoran assists her with his warlocks. Shelia and Kayleth speak among each other to see what is going. They knew their words didn't ring truthful about how they are receiving help, but this isn't the time to be divided. The orks would attack them at any given moment should they leave their ship and base too unguarded. Once the ship is close to the surface, the aeldari teleport to the surface and make themselves ready for war. They set up barriers for any kind of assault that would come to them. Many howling banshees, dire avengers, scouts, warp spiders, and fire dragon warriors all stand ready. Every warlock and warp user feel the area enhance their powers. The enemy would come to find victims of war, but the aeldari will give them a surprise.

With hours of setting up, it didn't take long for the orks to come near their area. The scouts report what they see as warp spiders appear and strike down the orks. They didn't have much time after they set up the warp towers to keep the base safe. Xiwe and Veldoran broadcast to their kin.

Xiwe says, "The time for battle is upon us. It would seem the orks are here to try and slaughter us before we face the dark followers of Malice. The enemy will try, and they will fail. I, farseer Xiwe, stand with my kin of Ctho and Alaitoc. We will repel the green tide and scatter them across this planet. Go forth my kin and spare none of them."

Veldoran continues, "This battle is ours alone; the orks shall not interfere with our prey this time. We face the enemy and will not stop until they are defeated. To the aeldari of Alaitoc, we go to war for our craft."

Kayleth and Shelia look on at the pair. There is something different about them, but they know what is at stake.

Shelia says, "I trust in your words Kayleth and hope our allies will show up to help us. It will be a long fight for us. The tau will come to our aid against the enemy, but do you believe Max and the imperial army will honor their word?"

Kayleth proudly answers, "Max will be here to help us and stop the madness. The future we saw is not how this ends. We will walk away alive and be thankful for what the future has for us. Let us go to battle for now. We will hold long enough to have and receive the help needed."

The aeldari leaders assemble their teams and prepare to hold the orks back. High above the orbit into the void of space, the warp opens up. It cracks with lighting and purple electricity. The portal is wide and open for entry into space. With the ship coming through the warp, everything is going well. The War Harbinger arrives through the warp and the portal closes. The ship floats just out of range from the planet; the time is now for them to strike. A set of hands grip the weapons and ammo; each las-rifle and las-pistol is loaded and charged. The captains urge the troops to be ready for the coming threat when they land on the surface. Every imperial guardian knows their duty and what must be done. All imperial guard troops are anxious for a fight to stop the forces of chaos. The ogryns loaded up their one-shot and large shotguns; the BONE eads keep the small ones ready and motivated for battle. Many tech teams keep the ship stable and ready to fire. Even the skitarii teams look over their guns one more time and update the captains once more. As everyone stands ready on all levels, four of them take the time to move around the ship and help out where they can.

Imperial Guardian Carl orders, "Make sure those battle tanks are ready and loaded. Be sure the medics are standing by to receive our wounded. All fire bombs and anything that can cause fire will be needed. Make sure the shuttles are ready and loaded too. Once we land on the surface, expect the orks to be ready to strike us down as soon as we appear on their scanners."

Commissar Elara demands, "I need to see all soldiers, ogryns, and skitarii ready for combat in the next hour. Any of you found unworthy will be shot in the head as of now. There can be no retreat and surrender is no option. The enemy will not grant us any mercy; there will be no second chance. I need all company captains to make sure that all orders are followed to the letter."

Linda scans and updates, "The reactors need a new cooling unit to be added. Make additional repairs to the hull to prevent impact damage. All guns must be loaded. The machine spirit must not suffer before our battles begin. I have added and sent out more pages of the tome to all tech teams to study. There will be no mistakes made."

With everyone moving and staying active, he approaches the helm of the ship to give everyone a speech. He wears a mighty set of armor to accommodate his new form. The upgrades to Max have given him an improvement to battle any enemy head on. He walks by everyone on deck one and many turn to salute him; they didn't expect Max to look similar to a space marine initiative, but he dismisses the idea that he is not one. This is the moment Max didn't believe he would be alive to see or ever do.

He says, "Attention all levels, this is Noble One Max Johnson. We're here to stop the orks and end the terror of the Sons of Malice. This battle will be a long one, but we didn't come through dark space to die here. We know we can never go back to the Milky Way; this galaxy is our home and we intent to make it a home for us. The tau have agreed to help us and the aeldari will assist us. This is our time, and if we are to stand alone, may the emperor give us his blessing. The Immortal Emperor of Mankind is with us; the Great Omnissiah of the Machine Spirit is with us. Let us give the enemy the death they have been seeking. long live the imperium of humanity."

The War Harbinger goes to the unknown planet. The men and women aboard have fury in the stomach and their mind ready for war. There is no time to look back and no more time to prepare. Once they pass through orbit, the War Harbinger looks for a safe landscape to land on. Far from the any ork parties and evading the aeldari sight, the shuttles fly from the hangar and start landing on the surface. The tech teams start setting up a base with everything ready for use. Max, Lina, Carl, and Elara set onto the ground and do what comes natural for them; they knew the tau would be a while before they get here, so time is important.

The travel through space going faster than light. They would be there in time to help them turn the tide of battle. Aun El Rai gives an uplifting speech to keep the fire warriors, kroot packs, honor guards, air caste, and scout teams.

He broadcasts, "Soldiers of the tau, we fly to face our enemy. They can not win against the greater good. We have proven our might against the enemy before; we will do so again. The orks fail and the Sons of Malice shall be stopped. To every fire warrior, kroot fighter, scout member, vespid, and air caste, this is our moment to show our true strength. We will win. May you all find victory in battle."

With his message given, the commanders keep their teams focused and battle ready. On the medical floors, all medic teams keep the supplies high. They know their job and no mistakes would occur. The air caste teams make sure each ship for transport is ready to drop troops into battle. Kroot packs roar and make sure their fangs are sharp for the feast. Among the fire warriors, Shas'El Asuki, Shas'El Suu, and Shas'O Kais carefully double check their weapons and make sure their orders are understood. This will be the battle to decide everything; they would hold nothing back. The tau are nearly at the coordinates; the imperial army is coming to the surface by shuttles and setting up bases. The orks are ready for battle and the aeldari stand ready to bring the enemy death. Far on the other side of the planet and carefully watching, Balrok smiles at what is coming.

He thought, "Everything is nearly ready for the ritual to begin. Sacrifice demands the life of many. Malice will give me all that I need."

Chapter 11: Section 11 - 2

The blade breaks through the neck of the green flesh. It is a killing blow to the enemy, but it can't stop there. A single shot from a rifle flies over twenty feet and crashes into the arm of a brute. There is powerful warp energy coming from the finger tips as they send lighting at the mobs of green hordes. This is the fourth group of orks that have been taken out. Though many more are coming from various directions, the aeldari continue to hold and keep their battle focus strong. She steps to the dead ork and pulls out her blade from its neck. It didn't take them long to burn the bodies; the battles with the enemy is constantly increasing. A dagger is taken from the head of another dead ork. They stand together as the aeldari burn away any ork body.

Shelia says, "The scouts are reporting the arrival of the human ship. It won't be long when the orks find their base. Should we not join them?"

Kayleth looks in the distance, "It would be pointless for us to join them. Their leader isn't in the mood to speak or have any aeldari around him. For now, I shall be the mediator between our kind and the humans. Keep Xiwe and Veldoran alert for the orks than my actions."

As they return back to the aeldari base, many of their kin keep weapons ready for any chance to slay an ork. The aeldari base is strong and holding. The orks are not being as reckless as they normally would be. They attack in large numbers only to see a handful of them retreat. At the center of the base, there is much to discuss about what comes next.

Veldoran says, "The orks are using methods that require too much planning. The war boss is no fool to what he is doing. I don't think we will see them do anything else foolish for now."

Xiwe scoffs and replies, "There is nothing new the orks are showing us. We will continue to hold and keep our base hidden. The humans should be battle ready by now, and we will lure them to the enemy. Our path is clear."

Having just finished her words, Shelia and Kayleth appear before them with the news of their activities. All of it continues to bode ill about the ork attacks.

Shelia says, "The orks are constantly sending in bands and few are getting away each time. They are planning something for us, or they have ork weird ones within their settlements."

Xiwe proudly smirks, "There is no such creature and even if there is, the aeldari are stronger than the brutes. The only way they can win is through strength in numbers."

Kayleth shakes her head in disappointment and replies, "You may think little of the green skin, but I can assure you that they are not going to let us keep our base hidden. There is a strategy here and the leader is no fool. Our best course is to move from where we are and closer to our 'ally' for protection."

Veldoran agrees and suggests, "I see the advantage of our base being near the humans as a great plan. They can handle the might of the orks and it means our chances for battle will greatly improve."

Xiwe disagrees, "The orks are no problem. We shall not move unless the orks can rain down fire on us. The humans will be here when it is our time to use..."

A sudden blast is heard from the distant lands. The aeldari look to see a horde of orks use cannon fire from far away. To their surprise, it is a three large cannons firing. Each strike against the barrier weakness it; the orks move in with their looter tanks and mobs. At the front of the tanks, the bodies of several aeldari warriors and scouts. In the hands of many orks, the heads of other aeldari. They continue to fire until the barrier is weak. Kayleth orders her kin to retreat near the imperial landscape and reinforce the area more. Shelia sees to the matter personally. Veldoran agrees to join her; Xiwe stands firm in the face of her enemy.

She says, "This is not possible. How did they know where to fire at? Our base is hidden from their sight."

Kayleth comes to her, "It is that very arrogance that allowed the enemy to find us. It is time for us to retreat and join the humans. We may be able to finish up what we can there."

As much as Xiwe didn't like the idea of working with humanity, she agrees to retreat as the orks push through the defenses and destroy everything. The aeldari safely move away, but there is still too much that is coming there way. In the lands far from the battle, the imperial army continues to strengthen the defenses and prepare for the coming battle. A watch tower scans the horizon and sees flickering lights in the distance. The tower sends an alert to every broadcast. In the center, they stand together and wonder what brings the aeldari so close.

Commissar Elara questions and advices, "Why are the suspicious xeno here? I recall they were never to return here again. With your permission Noble One, allow me the chance to show these sneaky xenos that they are no longer welcome near any imperial fortress."

Imperial Guardian Carl disagrees and says, "We can't afford to fight three armies on different fronts. Our tau allies can help us, but we need all the support we can get. We need to know why they are here."

Lina suggests, "Before we do anything, we must make sure every precaution has been taken. I'll need more time for the turrets to be setup and towers to be ready for the snipers. All of this can be done, but we can't have the eldar giving away our position to the enemy."

Max looks to them all and says, "You all will continue to do what you can. I'll take a small escort with me to see why the aeldari are here. And before you ask me, yes. The eldar are using their old names to identify their race. I'll be back. Keep the base on high alert for any ork attacks."

With his order given, Max takes a few veteran soldiers with him to see the aeldari and inquire about why they are here. Within minutes, he sets out to go and find the mysterious aeldari. It has been some time since he came to them. They march through the dry land with the dirt around them. There is nothing around them giving life to the land; it is a long thirty minute march to the area. Once they are close to the area, Max orders his soldiers to halt and be ready to embrace the cold feeling. He expands his blank powers and frightens away any hidden aeldari scouts. He pushes more of his ability out and sends a terrible chill down the spine of any warp user. At the camp, the aeldari feel the void come from Max. It leaves them all frighten and uncomfortable. Xiwe orders her kin and the others back, but Kayleth knows what must be done. She wastes no time to speak with the others and goes to the source. Her use of a web way portal harms her psychic connection; however, she is close to the objective. She hurries as fast as she can to see him. No more than a few yards from him, Kayleth sees Max and he sees her. Like before, he drops his hammer and pistol to the ground and turns before her eyes. As he walks over, he drops her weapon to the ground and comes to him. The blank powers slowly go away and disappear from the area. Once they are face to face, the tension builds up. It is just like before when they first met.

Max says, "I take it you and your aeldari kin have a reason for being here next to our base. Hopefully, you are not here to fight us when the orks and Sons of Malice are in the area."

Kayleth cautiously says, "The orks have proven dangerous before, but this is different. It is a new approach from their war boss. We came here only for a short reprieve from what awaits them. It is not long before they come here. We won't be lingering too long."

Before Max can reply, a set of warp rings appear around him. Out from the shadows, warp spiders and other aeldari of Ctho show up. Kayleth looks back to see Xiwe, Shelia, and Veldoran appear. With no more words coming from them, they all stand against Kayleth as she orders them to stop.

Xiwe replies, "Stand aside, Kayleth. You keep letting him slip by your blade too much and we can't let him escape. He brings nothing but death."

Max looks to Kayleth and says, "So, this was not your doing and only she seeks to harm me. I can forgive your acts, but they may not be so lucky."

He steps forward and the warp rings vanish before their eyes. Max nearly lets his power come out, but the aeldari back up for fear of what he can do. Xiwe calls for her warp powers only for Max to surprise her with his speed. He rushes at her and stops in front of her. Shelia and Veldoran slowly back away; however, Max looks to them.

He calls to Veldoran and Shelia, "How can you two side with her and do me harm. I understand that you fear me, but you know nothing of the warp can harm me. So, why continue to support someone who isn't looking out for your future? Your farseer keeps leading you all down the road to damnation."

Xiwe roars, "I have seen what happens on this planet. You must die before the worse falls on all of us. You will end up serving Malice and giving him what he needs."

Before she speaks again, Max uses his blank powers and gives the aeldari a scare. He shows his rage for farseer Xiwe and the others.

Max says, "I won't kill you and I am not here to serve the dark God Malice. We came here to end this problem. If you want to leave, then go. No one is stopping you from leaving. Now, if you are here to fight, then do so. As far as I am concern, we won't help you unless you are ready to fight by our side. Any attempts to lure the orks here will be seen as an act of hostility on the imperium. The tau are coming to our side to help; we don't require your service."

Before Max can leave, Kayleth stops him and asks, "The aeldari of Alaitoc will fight at your side if you allow it. Our other kin will stay from the battle to ensure no problems will occur."

He scoffs at the notion and leaves to join his team. As the humans leave, Xiwe confronts Kayleth on her need to continue trying to work with Max.

She says, "You are playing a dangerous game here. He will be the death of us all."

Kayleth replies, "That is where you are wrong. Max will not end up killing anyone on our side. The more you continue to try, the more he may kill you. As he said, you are welcome to leave at any time. I will stay and make sure the dark one Malice is defeated."

Max and his team arrive back in time to hear from Lina that the tau are just now arriving at the planet. Within the imperial base of operations, tau shuttles and air caste teams land their people on the surface to set up where they can. Among the people, Shas'El Asuki and Suu join Shas'O Kais and Aun El Rai. They make their way to the command center to speak with Max and the others. So far, the orks have yet to come to their area. Max and Carl meet with Lina and Elara. It didn't take long before they meet with the tau leaders and start discussing ways to beat back the orks and stop them.

Aun El Rai says, "We came as fast as we could. I'm glad you didn't go at this alone. Now, we can help you repel the orks with no trouble. We are setting up our base now and deploying fire warriors to support for teams. Shas'O Kais will provide you with more and I will keep the tau morale high by being down here with you."

Max nods and asks, "Our base has some defenses. I hope you are willing to add more to support us during the battle. And don't mind the soldiers. They all know to not fire upon any of your kind. I have my own plans, but I will make sure the imperial army is battle ready within three hours or less. We brought at least two bane blade tanks to help us out."

Lina smiles and adds, "These bane blade tanks are modified than the last ones I've seen on the blue print. I am anxious to see them in battle against the ork vehicles they have. And before you ask, I will send you only the blue fire power. You don't get everything."

Shas'O Kais agrees and replies, "That is fine. If we can't get the full details of your bane blade, then we shall apply what we know to it. For now, let us go back to the ork and chaos problem. We did manage to scan some of the planet before we came down to join you. The enemy is advancing on us and will be here within a few hours. There is no time to waste."

As the tau continue to set up around the base, web way portals open. The tau nearly fire upon the aeldari of Alaitoc, but all imperial soldiers prevent any violence from occurring.

Carl is stopping one of the fire warriors and says, "There is no time for your kind to be killing any aeldari. They are here on peaceful terms. So, we shall offer them peace until otherwise."

From behind his back, she says, "I see that nothing has changed between you and the sneaky ones."

He turns to see Shas'El Suu standing at the ready. Though the situation with the tau and aeldari is on high alert, Carl and Suu still have small issues to discuss. With the orks pressing in and the Sons of Malice unaccounted for, the events on the planet are now becoming more than just another war to fight.

Chapter 11: Section 11 - 3

The alliance of humanity and xeno is not back into formation. The tau stands on even ground, but they don't trust the aeldari. Any soldier of the imperium sees this as a chance to find victory if only their allies can see the threat they face. All aeldari of Alaitoc are supporting their autarch with their other kin standing by. Among the soldiers, Suu and Carl continue to keep the peace. Though past events have made things harder to deal with, they both remain ready for battle. The fire warriors go on about their business and the aeldari take cover where they can. Many join the imperial soldiers in towers and command centers. As the shaken alliance continues, Carl and Suu discuss their own plans for where they would scout.

Carl says, "I will be going to the west zone and have a small strike team set up there. It will be led by myself. Commissar Elara will be keeping the morale of all troops ready at the center and only lead when it is time. What does your commander have for you?"

Suu answers, "Right now, Commander Shas'O Kais has given us our own command over the teams we pick. I will head south east to establish the air caste base and make sure they keep the sky covered. I doubt the enemy will see that coming."

Shelia leaps beside Carl and twirls in front of Suu. She bows with grace, "I see my favorite duo is missing my ideas on where they should strike. Shall I tell you of my own plans?"

Carl replies, "There is no need for your ideas to be exposed to us. Do what you do best and we shall be ready for when it is time. I hope the aeldari of Alaitoc surprise us."

Suu interrupts, "She should share any information with us about where she will strike from. We don't need her making mistakes that will bring the threat to Aun El Rai or the base."

Before any more words are spoken, the leaders are all called to the command center. It is urgent and unexpected. In the center of the command center, they all stand in attendance. Max, Lina, Elara, and Carl stand eager. Aun El Rai, Shas'O Kais, Asuki, and Suu are worried. Kayleth and Shelia listen closely to the issue; they all wonder what is going on.

Commander Shas'O Kais opens the discussion, "Our scouts manage to get far and found something very disturbing. They are on the way here, but they manage to transmit the information to us. It shows massive ork mobs moving to the area; they will be here within two hours. We must be ready when they get here."

Carl says, "We must meet them out in the open. If they get here before we are ready, then we will have our hands full."

Elara proudly declares, "It's about time the enemy came to us. I am ready to show them orks how foolish they are."

Max disagrees and replies, "The orks normally don't advance on anyone unless they see an opportunity to loot, take, or raid any undefended settlements. We must be ready for them once they get here."

Before any more words can be spoken, the aeldari appear. It is Xiwe, Veldoran, and the remaining aeldari of Ctho. Everyone is surprised they are here; Xiwe and Veldoran join Kayleth and Shelia inside the command center only to see the rage on everyone.

Veldoran says, "We are here to help. The orks will be here and now isn't a good time to argue among ourselves."

Xiwe steps forward, but Max halts her words before she can speak, "I don't know what makes you think you and Veldoran are in charge, but this isn't how things go. If you are here to fight, then help us. Otherwise, I hope you are not here to try and take over."

She answers, "We will fight beside you, but once the orks are hardly a threat, only then shall we leave."

With everyone in accord with the need to push back the orks, everyone goes about their duty. Max looks over the landscape with Kais and Kayleth watching; Xiwe and Veldoran go to keep the troops ready for battle. Shelia, Carl, and Suu rally their units for battle. Asuki and Elara make sure everything is battle ready. Aun El Rai keeps to the tower and motivates the fire warriors for battle. As the tech teams, builders, and bonesingers modify the area for safety, the orks slowly advance through the land. They are ready for war and anxious to slash at the enemy.

Above the planet in his ship of carnage, he calls to his boys and makes them hear his call of his Gods. Ork God Mork is giving him a vision of hitting the enemy when they are least to expect it; Ork God Gork is guiding him to strike just as hard towards the other enemy. The mobs of orks continue to enjoy what they see and stand ready to bash the enemy over the head. War Boss Tharacka is feeling great with his plans and can see a great fight coming.

He roars, "We'z got da humies, grey-skin, and eldar. We out-numba dem ah milliun ta five. And, we'z got boyz goin' afta den chaos boyz. Let'z git dis here waaagh started."

The orks all roar, "Waaaagh!"

At the alliance base, the orks stand far out of range. No one didn't think the orks would out number them greatly. The Faded Light, War Harbinger, and Great Spear fly low and circle around the base. The aeldari ship floats just above the entire area; the War Harbinger slowly goes back to orbit and prepares to fire missiles. Only the Great Spear holds near the area just from the battle. With everyone waiting to see what the orks will do, Max leads the imperial army.

He says, "The orks are here. Now, we must show them the errors of their ways. There can be no retreat and no surrender. We didn't come this far into a new galaxy to let the enemies of the Emperor see our tail or backside. We are the Imperial Guard. And, what does the imperial guard do to its enemies?"

The soldiers cry, "We will hammer the enemy until they are a stain on the ground!"

Max replies, "mmhmm, you are damn right. Now let's give them a round of bolters and send them to the grave."

The imperial soldiers take cover and set up in their fortified bases. They keep their guns aiming out into the opening. At their side, the tau fire warriors join them and stand eager to fight once more again. Max, Carl, and Elara take to the front; the very sight of them boosts morale of the guardsmen, ogryns, skitarii squads, guardians, and the medic teams. High above the tech teams and enginseers, the Blessed Techno Woman Lina pours through data and inspires her people to make sure every machine and vehicle is properly blessed by the machine spirit; they would bring honor to the Omnissiah and let their achievements be shown on the field of battle. The aeldari are not in sight, but many already knew their plan. They would fall upon the enemy and slash them where they can.

An ork war chief steps in front of his mob. It leads the other orks into a chat and points to the alliance.

It shouts, "You'z all gonna die ere! You boyz ar weak! Ya eads wil be on top of da war boss stikk!"

Max scoffs at the ork and roars, "Let us give the orks a war they won't walk away from!"

The noise from the orks is heard; they shake the ground and charge at the front lines of their targets. Every las-rifle and pulse rifle is aiming out into the land. The mobs of orks close in. Now is the time to unleash the barrage of gun fire. To the surprise of everyone, the orks use their shield teams and stand shoulder to shoulder. A second surprise comes to everyone as the orks use the shield-&-shoot method. Though the tactic is a slight improvement, the tau made sure nothing would take them by surprise. Every bullet, rocket, and missile from the orks slams into the energy barricade employed by the tau. It annoys them greatly to see their first tactic isn't as effective as they thought it would be. As they bring their front line closer to the alliance, tau and imperial soldiers fire at the enemy's shield wall. Many orks falter from the shots, but the shield wall continues to hold.

They stay ready and frozen in the exact spot. The blade is out and ready to strike. The orks move pass the energy barrier and stand strong as they let loose the axe wielders. Many watch as they block the axe attacks and try to counter. Before too many soldiers and fire warriors die, the roar of the kroot packs startle the enemy. Now is their time to strike. Out from the shadows and emerging from cloak, the aeldari sends in the howling banshees to slay and strike where they can. Among them, she leaps high into the air and gracefully lands in the center of the orks. Before the mobs can overwhelm her, she lets the flame of Khaine consume her body and erupts from within her soul. The bos around her burn away to ash and die. Kayleth looks around only to see her targets that need to be killed. She attacks where she can and strikes down many nobs. Hovering above the ground, he activates his cloaking tech and launches himself into the air. He bombards the land ahead of the alliance and sends the orks crashing down from pulse shots and missile shots. He targets as many large ones as he can before landing back ground. Shas'O Kais has seen many orks before, but not like this.

They come together and draw heavily on the warp. It surges within their body as they look at the next mob coming at them. They aim their pawns and finger tips at the approaching forces. The flashes of light and warp energy throw the orks back as they unleash more powers upon them. It is going good until a new threat comes to the warp user. From within the ranks of the orks, they find it laughing and hovering over the ground. Xiwe and Veldoran snarl at the ork weird boy as the unusual warp circles around it. The other orks back up and watch him work the magic. The weird boy leans his head back as the warp gathers. In a shocking display of power, the ork launches warp vomit at the alliance. It melts away the battier and forces every soldier to back up more. Unable to hold back her rage, Xiwe steps to the enemy.

She says, "This fight is mine alone. The ork will die."

The weird boy orders the rest to step away, "Dis elda iz mine. I'll showz her dat da warp iz mine ta command. Waaaagh!"

As the two engage in a battle of warp spells and unseen power, the orks continue to push at the enemy. Max leaps at the orks with his energy hammer and swings it; the shockwave knocks them back as other soldiers move up to gun them down. Carl leads his companies at the orks with his flaming sword burning. He slashes at the foes with ease and leaves them on fire. Commissar Elara orders her team to move up and keep the fire power strong; Shas'El Asuki keeps moving up her fire warriors. The more the alliance pours onto the enemy, the more orks gather to join the attack. Shelia and her harlequin members dance and slaughter the enemy with beautiful skills. Far from the battle, he looks on and smiles at the battle field.

Balrok thought, "This is perfect. Now, I must do what I can to eliminate the source of trouble. We will battle. He must die."

He takes his staff and slams it into the ground. Balrok focuses on his warp power and teleports elsewhere. Once he is far away, he uses the warp to send out a unique signal. The noise is sharp and light; it is an irritating sound. It is heard by only a few. It is their turn to cause chaos. They move out silently and make their way towards the enemy settlement. They smile secretly and become anxious to spread the word of their deity. They would give no blood nor would they take no enjoyment in the pleasure; no plans would change their fate and nothing will spread across the land. This battle will be for the glory of the one true God of chaos.

As the fighting with the orks quiet down, the damage is examine and everyone does what they can to be battle ready. As the imperial army keeps to their own affairs, Xiwe and Kayleth still have their own words about why they still allow him to live.

Xiwe says, "This battle will end soon. We must leave before it ends badly for us. It is your constant involvement that brings us closer to the end."

Kayleth warns her, "And you continue to see that the future is ever changing. If you were anything like farseer Elenwe, this matter would..."

She interrupts, "It would still remain as it is now. I am both farseers of craft world Ctho and Alaitoc. You only see your care for him as a means to an end. This battle ends with us all being sacrificed to Malice's new chosen one."

Before they can continue, they both hear the sound from the distant land. It annoys their ears. The moment is upon them and they are out of time.

Chapter 11: Section 11 - 4

The sound is heard. There is no more time. All aeldari look into the landscape and wonder what to do now. Xiwe and Kayleth hear the call. Would they answer the reply with war? Kayleth and Xiwe look to each other with wrath blazing in their eyes. They would now decide which is best for them to do now; all aeldari captains, leaders, champions, and scout masters report in to hear and decide which is best for the aeldari now. On one side, Kayleth stands firm with Shelia supporting her and willing to follow her. On the opposing side, Xiwe holds true to her knowledge of what the future shows as Veldoran agrees. Many other aeldari stand present to hear what comes next.

Kayleth states, "You may be able to see the future, but I see a future where we are all alive. The future we are fighting for will change and only one person can help us see it come to a reality. If we run, we bring doom with us upon returning back to the craft world. Better to stay here and fight than bring more trouble to our other kin."

Xiwe growls, "You continue to see a future that will not happen for us. I see the end coming from his hand and we must not be here. We all hear the sound of the true enemy. It is not wise to let the enemy finish his plans."

Shelia steps forward and suggests, "Instead of picking a chance to run or wage a long battle against the orks, why not seek out the enemy and eliminate him. Surely, once he is gone, the rest will follow. The orks can be dealt with and the Sons of Malice will be scattered."

Veldoran agrees, "The plan is a favorable idea. With the humans and tau keeping the orks busy, this will allow us time to stop the threat from happening. And I am certain the enemy will be alone. Only two or a handful of us will be needed to stop him. Who will go?"

Kayleth says, "Veldoran, your idea is wise. I will go after the enemy myself. You and Xiwe will stay and keep the orks occupied with the others."

Xiwe scoffs and adds, "If I am to stay and deal with the green tide, then let Shelia serve as your second. After seeing the ork weird boy, there will be more of them. I am the most capable of stopping them. Be sure the enemy falls once we are done with the orks."

The aeldari agree upon the mission. They begin their tasks at locating the source of the sound they hear. At the imperial tau command center, the others continue to find ways to eliminate the orks. Shas'O Kais and Aun El Rai stand with Max, Carl, and Elara. Lina and her tech teams keep the generators going and stand-by if they are needed.

Shas'O Kais points to the holographic map, "The orks were pushing in here, but they are now going to this sector of the land. Stealth teams have followed them closely and keeping their distance."

Carl sums up the event, "They must be attacking the Sons of Malice now. If the enemies are killing each other, then this is our time to keep ourselves out of the fight."

Elara disagrees and complains, "Coward! If this is our duty, then we must crush them now. Why put off an important battle to repair what we lost? The dead demand payback for what the enemies of the Imperium have stolen from me."

Max raises his hand and says, "We will go after the orks, but if they are fighting the enemy, we will strike when the moment is shown to us. Any ideas you have in mind, El Rai?"

Aun El Rai nods his head, "This is our moment to strike, but I rather we stay cautious than foolish. I pray that we find victory in this battle."

As everyone continues to add more suggestions, Shas'O Kais picks up an odd sound coming from somewhere. He calls to everyone and asks for assistance. As they look into the matter, Carl finds Suu and Asuki having their chat about what to do. They discuss tactics and strategy that the orks employed.

Asuki says, "The green skin didn't mind using shields for the first time. Normally, they just run at anything with their pistol and axe. Maybe we should upgrade the kroot packs with their protection to counter them."

Suu replies, "That would be pointless. Our energy shield is holding against their brute strength and might. We won't need any ideas from them unless they manage to develop an ion cannon."

Carl suggests, "Then, how about keeping a record of what they do and advising the war council about their next plans? It would not be much, but it would help future generations be ready for them should the orks improve their technology."

Suu and Asuki agree to the idea. After Asuki leaves, Carl and Suu are left alone. She pays him no mind and stays on her tasks. Carl looks over her shoulder to see her plans for the next battle coming.

He says, "That won't be a good idea. Let the enemy believe you are getting close only to appear far away."

She answers, "Oh, we are appearing far away when we are really closer than they believe."

They both pause and look into each other's eyes. It seems they both are in accord with how things should go. They return to the plans, but Suu feels too hot around Carl.

She tries to speak, but Carl replies, "Do not worry. We will speak when this is over and after the enemies is defeated. I only ask you of more thing. No kisses before the final battle."

Suu smiles and hides her blushing side. She nods her head as they are called over to the others. The new of the discovery is important. Shas'O Kais lets everyone know what his suit has picked up from an irritating sound.

Kais says, "There is a single sound coming from this location. It seems our enemy has given away his position for us to strike at him directly."

El Rai adds, "This may be a trap to lure us to him. We can't risk such a chance and be vulnerable. Once we have dealt with the orks and Sons of Malice, then we can purse this matter."

Max says, "This is more than just a snare for us. He is calling to anyone who will seek him out. I am the only one fit to stop him. I will go to the location and end Balrok. He won't escape this time."

Before any can speak, Lina steps in and says, "If you are going after Balrok, then I am coming with you. I didn't come this far to let him slip away. He must pay for taking my Lucas from me. My tech teams have the base well under control and do not require me to be here with them."

He nods his head and turns to Elara and Carl. They both wonder what Max has in mind.

He says, "You two are to maintain and lead our troops in battle against the enemy. We will go to fight Balrok. I need you to do this for the greater good of the imperium."

Carl and Elara understand and begin issuing out orders. They prepare a shuttle for Max and Lina to take. Before any more can be done, Shas'O Kais also informs them that he will come along to help them stop Balrok. Aun El Rai steps to the trio and surprises them.

He says, "The tau empire will survive, but I must come with you. I need to see this fallen human with my own eyes as well. He took a friend from you and must pay."

Lina and Max are surprised, but Kais says, "You can not leave the base to face an enemy such as this one. You must stay here and keep hope the Greater Good going. Even if I die, I need you to stay here. I can't lose you like I lost..."

Aun El Rai raises his hand, "It is alright. I understand. I shall send Asuki in my place instead. Suu and I will keep the tau forces going with the imperial army to stop the orks. If the Sons of Malice are there, they too will see why the Greater Good of the Tau shall win."

With everyone making up their mind, it is time for them to move out. Max, Lina, Shas'O Kais, and Asuki would go to the source of the beacon. Like before, so much is on the line for the future of humanity and its allies. The imperial army moves out to set up a second forward base near the enemy territory; the tau keep advancing and scouting ahead of everyone to find out what is going on. The aeldari stand ready to do what they can to stop the enemy before the worse happens. Though Xiwe still feels that the need to retreat is more important than staying here, she keeps her mind focused on the coming conflict. All she can do is pray that Kayleth and Shelia is successful.

They step lightly around the land and see nothing for miles around them. The warp is strong here and only a few patches of grass grow. It is quiet and nothing else roams the area. There is only the slight sound of a irritating noise being heard; they step together and and scan the area. It is obvious where they must go, but there is doubt in their words.

Shelia says, "He is waiting for us. The enemy knows we are coming. Do you believe that we will be enough to stop them?"

Kayleth looks out into the land, "There is no turning back. We know where he is; this is our choice. He must be stopped."

The time to face Balrok is close at hand; it would not be long before they stand against him. The warp continues to circle around the area and moves to a single individual. Balrok will wait and face his foes. At the ork settlement, War Boss Tharacka urges his boyz to slaughter the enemy and spare no one. His voice rings loud over the ork speakers. They have four armies that need all heads removed and placed on pointy stikkz.

War Boss Tharacka proclaims, "Waaaagh! Da humies, eldar, grey-skins, and marine boyz iz readi fo ah fight! We'z gonna kill dem all and tak da eads! Time fo ah rampage! Kill em all!"

The orks charge to the north and come across the Sons of Malice. Though the orks are many, the followers for Malice did not fear what is coming at them. They say no words and utter no chat. They stand ready and waiting to fight the orks head on. As the forces of chaos and carnage fight each other, the alliance sets up a forward base just below the mountain top. They knew what is over the top and what to expect. The tau and kroot work closely with the imperial guardsmen and guardians. Not too far from their base, the aeldari remain focus and alert for any orks. Carl and Elara find themselves going through all imperial orders as they keep everyone battle ready. Aun El Rai and Shas'El Suu stand eager and proud to lead the tau into battle. Once they are done preparing for war, Carl decides to lead the army with a speech of duty, honor, and a bright future.

He uses the com device and broadcasts, "To all imperial soldiers of the imperium of man, this is our time. We are no longer fighting for just our souls. We do this for the duty we have to the emperor. We came far from our home galaxy and must bring honor this the one we will build upon. Our future is bright and we shall usher in an age of growth, expansion, and a promise. Our leader, Max and Lina, are going to the enemy that leads the forces of chaos. We know why we are here. So, let us shatter the enemy. And if we have to give these xeno bastards our life, we give them hell before they take it."

The soldiers cry, "For the Immortal Emperor, we fight for the imperium."

Elara finishes the speech, "To all companies, this is our moment. We will not fear. We will not falter. We shall not give the enemy a second chance to overcome us. Today, we stand together as one and fight the enemy on their grounds. Follow me into battle and let us stomp out the enemy."

Carl takes the first companies to the battle; they look out into the lands once they reach the mountain top. They see orks of Tharacka battle the Sons of Malice. Though the green tide out-numbers them, the Sons of Malice use a variety of weapons to tear, rip, and blow up the enemy. At their side, the many followers of Nurgle, Khorne, Slaanesh, and Tzeentch assist them in battle. It is a battle of carnage and chaos. Before Carl is able to issue an order, Shas'El Suu joins him. He looks back to see the tau fire warriors and kroot packs join the imperial army.

Suu says, "I see the enemy is paying us no mind. Is this their plan? They seek to lure us out into the open and fight them?"

Carl replies, "The orks are ten times more than the Sons of Malice. Right now, they are holding them back due to unnatural fire power. But, the orks will still come for us too. So, we hit both sides with what we got."

It didn't take long for the orks to be alerted to the humans and tau. The enemy sends a few mobs towards the mountain side. Carl and Suu lead their troops into battle. Elsewhere, he stands alone with his staff in his head. The warp has twisted his body. He has horns atop of his head. Most of his face is in different colors; there is so much the future shows him. He is anxious to see where it will lead him. Balrok has come far and now he stands ready to face his own opponents. He can hear them approaching. There will be no help this time. No one would stop this final conflict.

Chapter 11: Section 11 - 5

They fly as fast as they can to the battle, but they know what is waiting for them there. It would be a fight to decide the future of humans, tau, eldar, kroot, ogryn, and skitarii life. The armies of the alliance are battling the orks and chaos forces of Malice. Only he stands ready to face them alone. They step softly and see him waiting; he take his staff into his right hand and looks to see two aeldari warriors come to him. He nearly smirks at how foolish they are as they cautiously step to him.

Balrok says, "If you come here to face me, foolish ones then you rush to embrace your end, knowing that I am the one who will give it. You would have been better off hidden in the corners of the galaxy."

Kayleth keeps a firm grip on her sword, "You are the one who is foolish. You see a future that shall not exist."

Balrok watches Shelia move to the side. She says, "Escape for you is no longer possible."

He holds his staff above his head and draws upon the warp. It is frightening to Kayleth and Shelia as they hold their ground. Balrok looks at them both and smirks with a twisted smile. He looks at them and waits. Kayleth unleashes the wrath of Khaine as her body is covered in flames. She emerges from the fire with his symbol on her chest and forehead. Shelia nearly worries about her autarch since the last few times have unsettling.

Balrok looks at Kayleth, "You are still not as bright as you should be. It would have been better if you gave yourself over to chaos to truly accept the power that awaits you."

Kayleth leaps at Balrok and tries to slash him. He guards against her attack only to hear Shelia move up behind him. As Shelia leaps at him to strike him, Balrok surprises them both with a powerful warp blast. It shoves them back and sends ripples through the land. The shuttle receives a strong surge from it warp. Lina has no choice but to land the ship. She studies the readings.

Lina says, "It is too risky to fly out there. We will have to go by foot, but it should be no more than a thirty minute joy."

Max agrees as he opens the door, "So be it. Shas'O Kais will fly ahead of us and get to the source. We will catch-up."

Kais takes to the air and flies over to the battle field. Shas'El Asuki rushes as fast as she can to catch up. Max and Lina grab a jet pack to strap on their back.

Max says, "That surge of power has to be Balrok. He must be fighting the eldar now, but it isn't counting on us."

Lina adds, "By the grace of Omnissiah, he will win this time. We will stop him and avenge Lucas."

With their mind in accord, they activate the jet pack and hover over to the battle. At the alliance front lines, Carl stands firm and continues to drive every forward in the face of the enemy. He sees a sea of green muscle trying to move up their line. In the distant land, more of the greed tide continues to crush the forces of Malice, but they surprise the orks with a variety of warriors and weapons. As the enemy continues to die, Shas'El Suu join Carl by his side as they urge everyone to not give up.

Carl and Suu take cover behind the next sand wall; they urge the companies of tau fire warriors and guardsmen to move up. High in the tower from the battle, Aun El Rai broadcasts his voice to all kroot packs and tau fighters.

Aun El Rai says, "Take heart fire warriors. The Greater Good shall live on and victory will be ours. Hold nothing back for the enemy will not stop. The tau empire and imperium of man will win this day."

Commissar Elara orders the troops to move on, "To all companies, this is our moment to find not victory for ourselves. We fight to secure our future for the imperium of humanity. Mankind will show the forces of chaos why we won't quit."

The morale of the tau and humans greatly increases as they push hard into more ork problems. The Bane Blade tanks roll up and fire into the structures and crowds of ork. Though the field is obliterated and orks die by the hundreds, the rampage continues. High above the planet in low orbit, War Boss Tharacka continues to send the remaining orks to the surface. He promises them all a fight for the ages. Many ork weird boys teleport the mobs to the surface. As they continue to go, Tharacka reminds his ork horde of the battle they are facing.

Tharacka says, "Go and destroy em! Da orkz ar da bezt and we'z gonna claim all dere skullz!"

With the last mob of orks going to the surface, Tharacka orders his crew to pull the ship back from the planet and prepare to warp away from the area. His last orders for his war chiefs are to bring back more skulls, more weapons, and more scrap for his war to conitnue. The orks out-number their enemies greatly, but the followers of Malice keep trying to thin the numbers. The former followers of the dark gods of chaos fight for Malice; they did not spill any blood for Khorne. No one enjoyed the sensations that Slaanesh would give them. Any strings of fate and destiny have been cut free of Tzeentch. No blessings of Nurgle would be known. The only thing that matters to them is the chaos they can inflict on those around them. Several space marine capts lead their warriors on and fight in utter silence. There is no rallying cry, chatting phrase, or even a promise of what is to come. The Sons of Malice and his followers fight and push the orks back only to see many more of them coming. At the alliance camp, Carl and Suu keep the troops alert and issue out orders.

Carl says, "Be sure your las-rifle is ready. The orks are coming back and they will try to overrun us. I need the bane blade tanks ready within the hour; the wounded need to be take to the War Harbinger for additional help."

Suu instructs her teams, "All fire warriors are to provide additional support to the imperial army. Make sure we keep the numbers high for ork kills and low for injuries. We will need all the help we can get."

Before they can continue, they receive word from their leaders that the aeldari have come to them. Suu and Carl rush to the center of the alliance only to find a new problem among them. Xiwe and Veldoran stand before Aun El Rai and Elara.

Commissar Elara asks, "You didn't need to come, so why are you here now? I thought your kind were anxious to leave."

Xiwe replies, "Be glad that we are here to provide you with help. I don't want my people here to fix your problem."

El Rai harshly says, "If you are anxious to leave, then we will not stop you from going. It is better you retreat to the cold void of space than stand with us. This is no place for the weak."

Veldoran steps forward, "Mind your words and tongue, youngling. You dare speak to one that is wiser than you? You are just as foolish as the humans are."

Carl and Suu step in and keep both sides calm. Though Elara and El Rai are ready to see them go, Xiwe and Veldoran stand ready to force them to hear their words.

Suu says, "Aun El Rai, this is not the time for us to pick a fight with them. The orks have been beaten back for now. We only have a few hours to be ready for them."

Carl looks to the aeldari and sighs greatly, "I don't care why you are here nor do I wish to hear your words. If you came to help us against the enemy, then help us. Otherwise, your words are nothing but flowers in the wind."

Xiwe steps forward, "We are here to make sure no one else fails. The ork hordes are taking the fight to the Sons of Malice. This will give us time to be ready and more importantly, your armies need better guidance. I am here to offer help and make sure we win."

Suu turns to her, "So, now you are here to fight with us? I thought you are ready to leave and run away. Unless you have a new reason for being here."

Veldoran answers, "We are here because Kayleth and Shelia are cutting out the heart of the enemy. They stand against Balrok while he is alone. If they can eliminate him, then the future will change for all of us."

Carl adds, "Well, it is a good thing we sent others to make sure they happens. Max, Lina, Shas'O Kais, and Asuki will make sure that Balrok won't live to see any more days."

Xiwe widens her eyes, "And you have sent the unworldly one to seal our fate. Now, we can only pray that he won't give into power."

Aun El Rai stops Xiwe, "You may see a future where we all die, but I see a future where we all thrive. Max will not be tempted by any power given to him. He stands with his people."

Elara confirms, "The enemy will die this day, and we will continue to see many more suns. Max is our leader and nothing can stop him. This is your last chance to get away."

Veldoran and Xiwe agree to stay despite the horrible fate that can happen. The aeldari of craft world Ctho and Alaitoc join the alliance. Many warlocks set up spells around the camp and set up bases around the area. The humans and tau continue to prep for the next wave; many other imperial soldiers welcome the aeldari of Alaitoc. They compare notes and mission reports on what they have seen from the orks. It didn't take long for the orks to approach the alliance once more. The only difference this time is the tau, aeldari, and humans stand together to face the enemy. A few ork weird boys stand in front of the army. With the warp surging through them, a weird boy steps forward. The other weird boys empower him.

He says, "Da warp iz strong wit me. I'z gonna blast ya away now."

The electricity flashes above his head. The other orks chant proudly as more warp goes through him. In mere seconds, he is ready to unleash his power. The warp ork steps forward and growls. To everyone's surprise, the ork vomits a wave of green warp slime. Before it touches anyone, the spell disappears and all that is left is slime falling to the ground. Xiwe and some warlocks step forward with their palm open. The warp spell of the ork weird boys is easily cancelled out. The ork tries again only to see it fail; the orks come forward and launch cans at the alliance. Nothing works against them as the aeldari continue to stop their attacks.

Xiwe proudly says, "Your use of the warp is nothing. Let me show you why it won't work."

Veldoran adds, "You can do nothing against us. This will be your last time using the warp."

Veldoran and Xiwe stand together; they combine their warp powers. The ork weird boys follow in the same manner. Everyone stands back to witness an amazing show of warp powers. The aeldari draw the warp into them and transfer the power to Xiew and Veldoran. The five ork weird boys take in as much as they can. They send their own warp spells at them and nothing works. Once Veldoran and Xiwe have enough warp energy, they channel it into their hands. Veldoran sends a wave of lighting at the orks to fry their skin. The attack is successful and causes many orks to back off. Xiwe lifts off the ground and summons a lighting storm to cover the field. The orks are thrown around and smash into the ground. As the alliance moves forward, Carl and Suu take a moment.

Suu turns to him, "If we live through this, I'll be glad for us seeing another sun rise."

Carl replies, "There is no if we win. We are going to win and eliminate the orks. Once they are finished, the Sons of Malice shall fall next. Let us go. With blood and fire, the Emperor will see us win this day."

As she looks at him, Suu wonders the same question once again, "Is there a possible future for us?"

The alliance makes it next push against the hordes of green skin and chaos. Far into the distance land, the continue to hold against him. Though barely covered in scratches, Kayleth and Shelia stand firm against Balrok. He employs more warp spells against the duo, but their help is almost there. In every mind present on the field of battle, each one is thinking of something.

"Balrok, you will die this day."

"I'm coming for you to avenge the lost of a dear friend."

"You've taken him from me. Now, I'll take something from you."

"Is this course the right path for us?"

"Please, return to us so we can win."

"How long must this war last before we find peace?"

"I do this for my craft world. My life is for the living."

"The Imperium must survive."

"The Greater Good shall thrive here."

"There will be no victory for you."
