Disclaimer: Don't own them, never will…end of story.

A/N: 1. I'm using the ages provided by so it goes: Scott, John, Virgil, Gordon, Alan. 2. Although this isn't a songfic, it was inspired by a song called "Somewhere Out There" by Our Lady Peace. Obviously, I don't own that either, I just wish I did.

Virgil was restless. He and his brothers had just returned to the island from a rescue and they were all still too wound-up to sleep. He could hear Gordon splashing around in the pool, doing laps to calm himself down. Usually he'd be playing the piano, but he just couldn't sit still and concentrate. He wasn't sure where Scott was, probably in Thunderbird One's silo, checking his 'Bird over.

Virgil had gone for a walk, picking the path that would take him up to the top of the mountain. There he sat, leaning against the tower. He looked around him, knowing this was where Alan had contacted them when the Hood attacked the island so many months before.

His thoughts quickly drifted to John, who was all alone in his station again. Virgil tried spotting the station amidst the stars, but knew he couldn't. He needed John to point it out for him.

Virgil wouldn't tell anyone, but he was still worried about his older brother. It wasn't too long ago that John nearly died on the station. Hell, it wasn't too long ago before he did too. But John was the one with the guilt, he blamed himself for getting his father and three brothers into harm's way by sending the distress call. But if he hadn't, Virgil knew the situation would've been different. He'd have only one older brother, and that wasn't acceptable.

He wanted to call John and check up on him, but resisted. Although he knew John would still be awake, Virgil didn't want to upset him by checking on him. John may be the quietest one, but he still had a healthy dose of Tracy pride.

He cocked his head a bit when he heard footsteps coming up the path.

"Virgil?" he heard his father ask.

"Over here," he said, knowing his father would see him in the moonlight.

"This is where I'd find John. I wasn't expecting you up here."

"Do you know where the station is?" Virgil was quietly.

Jeff sat down next his son, his eyes in the sky. Jeff shook his head slowly.

"I wish I did. You can ask John, you know? He'd be happy to tell you."

Virgil pulled his knees up to his chest, his arms wrapped around his legs.

"He's really ok up there, isn't he?"

"Yes, he's fine. We'll just be doing more supply runs than normal for a little while."

Virgil smiled slightly, since he's usually the pilot on those runs. Scott and Gordon can fight over the second spot, although he was sure his second would be his father more than a few times as well.

"Don't stay up here too long. You need you're rest."

"Yes, sir."

Jeff placed a hand on his son's shoulder as he stood, then went back down the path. Virgil stretched his legs back out, his gaze returning to the stars. Then he looked at the communicator on his wrist. After a few seconds of fiddling with the device, John's face appeared.

"Hey Virgil, what's up?"

"Can't sleep, still too wired."

"Couldn't tell."

"Who else has called?"

"Scott. It seems our esteemed older brother can't resist calling just to check up on me," John replied with a grin.

"You did scare him. Hell, you scared us all."

The grin vanished from John's face, which was now serious. "I'm fine Virgil, really."

Virgil sighed, this was exactly what he didn't want to do. "I didn't call to check on you, John. I'm on the hill looking at the stars and I can't seem to find the station. Thought you might be able to help. So, where out there are you?"

John smiled, this time it was softer. "Well, if you look…" he began.

It didn't take long for Virgil to find the station. Then he knew where out there his brother was.
