Hi all. This isn't specifically a chapter per say. I still need to wrap my head around the Sports Festival.
This is a place where you can keep track of the current characters up to Chapter 18! You can consider it a sort of Jiminy's Journal.
Enjoy!
(Play: KH 2.5 Remix OST - A Twinkle in the Sky)
Sora Nakajima
A spirited young man who hails from the Destiny Islands. Wielding a weapon known as the Keyblade, Sora has traveled through many magical worlds, protecting the light wherever he goes with a smile on his face.
After the Keyblade War and Xehanort's defeat, Sora has mysteriously disappeared, his light vanishing from the worlds. Despite his friends' best attempts to find him, Sora's whereabouts remain unknown. But they haven't lost hope, and his friends believe that if they search hard enough, Sora will be found.
He is currently stranded on a world called Earth, and is training to be a Pro Hero at U.A. until either he can find a way to leave this world, or his friends find him first.
"Quirk": Summon - Sora can summon objects and natural elements from thin air. The "drawback" is that doing so harms him. Too much fire summoned will burn him; too much ice will freeze him, etc.
Shimizu Nakajima
Sora's long-lost mother, whom Sora reunited with after getting in trouble with the law in this world. She was thought to have been lost when the Destiny Islands were attacked by the Heartless and consumed by darkness.
She is Sora's guardian here in this world, and cares for her son deeply. Though she hasn't completely gotten over the missing dinner incident years before.
It is unknown how she managed to come into this world, and Sora is still trying to figure that out.
She is currently in the hospital after being ambushed and critically injured by what appears to be a doppelganger of Sora.
Mari Hidaka
A kind young woman Sora met in Faraway Library. She helped him find information regarding the new world Sora was in, and is now one of Sora's friends in this new world. She works at the front desk for Faraway Library as a part-time job.
Kind, compassionate, and a bit of a perfectionist, she's always there for her friends and willing to lend a helping hand whenever she can. You could say she's their big sister.
She has a really close relationship with her friend, Hero.
Quirk: Soothing Drive - Mari can heal the injuries of others at the cost of her adrenaline, making herself quite exhausted afterward. She can only heal one person at a time though.
Sunny Hidaka
Mari's younger brother who is training to become a Pro Hero. He was initially suspicious of Sora on their first encounter, but after spending time with him, he quickly warmed up to the Keyblade wielder.
He doesn't talk much, but his actions will speak louder than his words.
Sunny has become a bit more confident in himself after the Heartless incident, but he also seems to get unusually nervous when they're mentioned.
Quirk: Headspace - Sunny can call upon whatever comes into his head for 30 seconds. The limit to the number of things he can call out is 3 to 4. After using his Quirk or overusing it, he'll have a massive headache that upsets his sense of balance, which lasts for up to half an hour.
Henry "Hero" Diaz
A hospital intern and one of Mari's friends. He has known her and her brother since childhood along with Aubrey, Kel, and Basil.
Though Henry is his real name, he prefers to be called "Hero," and nobody questions him for it.
He is a very capable and reliable person, which has made him quite skilled in medical techniques and Quirk knowledge.
Despite that, Hero longs to do something else with his life, and with Mari's encouragement, he has begun to learn how to cook, and is getting better at it every day.
He is the peacemaker in his group of friends, mainly breaking up fights between Aubrey and Kel.
He has a really close relationship with his friend, Mari.
Quirk: First Aid - Hero's Quirk, like Mari's, is a healing Quirk, allowing him to heal severe wounds. Unlike Mari's, Hero can heal more than one person, and do it much faster than Mari can, though it causes him to lose his life force the more people he uses it on, which is part of the reason why Hero desires to find something else to do other than being a doctor.
Kel Diaz
Hero's younger brother and a Hero-in-Training alongside his friends Sunny, Aubrey, and Basil.
He is very spirited, just like Sora is, and is quite the athlete, too, excelling the most in recreational sports, unlike his older brother.
Though he is energetic and a bit of an idiot, Kel has a good heart and is willing to do what he can for the sake of his friends.
He and Aubrey bicker quite a bit, and Hero often has to step in to break it up before things go south.
Quirk: Glass Cannon - As the name suggests, Kel's abilities can increase to superhuman levels (though not at a level like All Might's), at the cost of his defense. However, to trigger it, he has to be very happy. The happier he is, the greater his Quirk (as well as his drawback) becomes.
Aubrey Howard
A young woman who is training to be a Pro Hero like her friends, Sunny, Kel, and Basil.
She meets Sora one day after he crash lands in the new world at Faraway Library, visiting her friend, Mari.
She's stubborn, emotional, and short-tempered at times, which doesn't always give off the best first impression, but deep down she cares greatly about her friends, specifically Sunny and Basil.
She is said to be somewhat clumsy, though Sora has yet to see this.
She and Kel bicker a lot, and Hero has to step in to break it up before things go south.
Quirk: Invigorate - Using her emotions, Aubrey can enhance her strength, speed, and other abilities. Unlike Kel, though, who relies only on positive feelings to amplify his abilities, Aubrey's can rely on any emotion, though negative ones don't give her a stronger boost as positive ones.
Basil Delaney
A young boy who is training to be a Pro Hero alongside his friends Sunny, Aubrey, and Kel.
He meets Sora alongside Aubrey when he stumbles into Faraway Library to look for information.
Basil is quite shy, and seems the most insecure among his friend group. He's a gentle soul that would rather find peace instead of getting into fights. He simply wishes to help and rescue others as a Pro, and isn't very eager to face off against Villains anytime soon.
He also has a love for plants and flowers, even before his Quirk manifested, and has since become an expert on them. He also loves taking pictures, so he always keeps a camera on him in case something memorable happens when he's hanging out with his friends.
Quirk: Chlorokinesis - Basil can manipulate plants, but has a specialty when it comes to vines. The drawback is that Basil needs to use the water in his body to control the plants, which means he has to drink plenty of water before using his Quirk.
Momo Yaoyorozu
A young woman Sora bumps into unceremoniously while exploring a mall in the new world. She is currently training to be a Pro Hero at U.A. and is the Vice Representative of Class 1-A.
She initially thought Sora was a wild child due to his personality and the fact that he was alone when they first met, but after talking with him and seeing him fight the Heartless, she saw that there was more to him than when she first met him, and has become one of his first friends here in the new world alongside Mari and her friend group.
She's super smart, independent, and knows multiple languages. Though she does seem to be ignorant of certain things, like a joke or what zombies are.
Her power allows her to create objects using the fat from her body, making it quite similar to Sora's "Quirk". She's even made a motorcycle out of thin air.
All Might
The Number One Hero and the Symbol of Peace and Justice in the new world. He helped Sora combat the Heartless when they first appeared.
He is boisterous, full of energy, and always has a great big smile on his face.
He is immensely strong, to the point where Sora thinks he and his demigod friend Hercules would get along quite nicely.
He seems to have taken a great interest in Izuku Midoriya, most likely due to the boy having a similar power like he does.
Donald Duck
The Court Magician of Disney Castle, and a close friend of Sora's.
Though he wasn't truly present, a bit of Donald's power took form in the new world to help Sora fend of the Demon Tide. After words of encouragement to Sora, it disappears without a trace.
Goofy
The Captain of King Mickey's Royal Knights, and a close friend of Sora's.
Though he wasn't truly present, a bit of Goofy's power took form in the new world to help Sora fend off the Demon Tide. After speaking words of encouragement to Sora, it disappears without a trace.
Tsukauchi Naomasa
A detective working with the police force of Japan.
After Sora was arrested due to using his power illegally, Tsukauchi was his interrogator, and gained knowledge about the Heartless and of the other worlds (the latter Sora had no choice but to explain about).
He seems to almost always know when someone is lying. Perhaps that's his power.
Kenji Tsuragamae
The chief of Japan's Police Force.
Kenji arrived to tell Sora of his verdict, which was that he was released from his charge of using his power illegally, but under the condition that he help deal with the Heartless once he obtains his Hero License.
He's a humanoid dog, but doesn't seem to have any special powers.
Kamui Woods
A Pro Hero who helped during the Heartless attack. He was present for Sora's interrogation.
His power seems to involve making his arms turn into wood and grow large and branch-like.
Death Arms
A Pro Hero who helped during the Heartless attack. He was present for Sora's interrogation.
His power appears to be something regarding super strength.
Mt. Lady
A Pro Heroine who helped during the first Heartless attack. She was present for Sora's interrogation.
She seems to have no problem showing off her... moves... to the crowd.
Her power makes her grow into a giant.
? ? ? ?
A mysterious individual who appeared when the Heartless first arrived in this new world.
His powers are unknown, but it seems to have to do with large red hands.
He seems to have a connection to Sunny and Mari.
Izuku Midoriya
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A.. He lives in the same apartment complex as Sora and his mother do, so the two became fast friends after their meeting in the park.
He is quite intelligent when it comes to Quirks and Heroes. Even though he is quite nervous and socially awkward due to a lack of social interaction, he has the heart of a true hero, willing to save everyone with a smile just like his idol, All Might. Sora is trying his best to help him feel confident in himself.
Izuku was initially Quirkless, which means he doesn't have a superpower, but he suddenly awakened it during the Entrance Exam and has since been using it sparingly due to its self-destructive nature, and desires to find a way to ultimately control it.
He seems to have a very... complicated connection to Katsuki Bakugo.
Pony Tsunotori
A young woman training to be a Pro Heroine at U.A., and a member of Class 1-B. She and Sora first meet in the Entrance Exam after Sora defeats a giant robot, helping him out of the zone they were tested in.
She is actually from America, so her Japanese isn't all that great. Her English however, is on par with Sora's own.
When the Villains attacked U.S.J., Sora barely managed to make contact with her to warn her of the attack, and she eventually found help in the form of a very familiar face.
It's unknown what her power is, but her appearance makes Sora assume it's related to horses.
Nezu
The principal of U.A. High School.
Sora met him after the Entrance Exam to discuss his results. He is one of the few people in the new world that know Sora's from another world.
He's a strange creature, looking a bit like King Mickey, but acting almost nothing like him.
He seems to have a humorous side, but his sense of humor seems... different... than most.
Tenya Iida
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A., and Class Representative of Class 1-A. He initially found Sora's actions insane when he stood up to their teacher, Aizawa, in defense of Izuku, but after hearing his intentions, he realized that there was more to Sora than meets the eye.
He's a man who sticks to the rules more often than not, and takes things very seriously. Well, very seriously being an understatement.
His power revolves around speed, using engines on his legs to make him super fast.
Ochaco Uraraka
A young woman training to be a Pro Heroine at U.A.. She recognized Sora from the Entrance Exam as the "Hype Up Boy," and Izuku as "Falling Boy."
She is very bubbly and laid-back, and very respectful to others. She also has a tendency to try not to laugh during times of hilarity, though it doesn't always work.
Her power revolves around controlling the gravity of others by touching them with her fingertips.
She seems to have taken a liking to Izuku Midoriya, though it's too soon to say if implies something more.
Katsuki Bakugo
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A.. He doesn't give off a great first impression when Sora firsts encounters him, cussing at him when Sora called him a name.
He's pretty much a short fuse, and seems to almost always be angry and full of himself. He hates others he thinks look down on him, as he is gunning to be the Number One Hero like All Might. He also calls people by insulting names instead of their real names, like "extras," "Deku," or in Sora's case, "Spiky."
He seems to hate Izuku a lot, though Sora doesn't know exactly why.
His power has him create explosions from his hands.
He isn't on good terms with Sora after the U.S.J. incident, as Bakugo accuses him of holding back due to arrogance.
Shoto Todoroki
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A.. He clearly isn't a talker, and acts very cold or indifferent towards others.
Not much is known about him personally due to him being distant, but he is a recommended student like Momo, so it is likely that he is very capable.
His power allows him to control ice to a great degree. It's said he can also use fire, but Sora has yet to see this in action.
Why doesn't he use his fire, anyway?
Mashirao Ojiro
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A.. He faced off against Sora in the Battle trial, gaining a newfound respect for him after learning why Sora held back against them.
He is a very capable martial artist, and even kept Sora on his toes even when he was holding back.
His power grants him a tail that acts like a third arm.
Toru Hagakure
A young woman training to be a Pro Heroine at U.A.. She faced off against Sora in the Battle Trial.
She's energetic and bubbly, making her quite the social type.
Her power makes her body invisible, but since it only covers the body and not her clothes, she has to be completely naked to make her invisibility worthwhile.
Mezo Shoji
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A.. He partnered up with Sora in the Battle Trial.
He wears a mask, so nobody knows what his mouth looks like. He is also polite and simple, like Mashirao.
His power allows him to create extra limbs that can form extra eyes, ears, noses, or mouths.
Denki Kaminari
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A.. He's complimented Sora's outfit twice before.
As thanks for saving him back in the U.S.J., Denki gave Sora a paper that helped the latter learn how to use Thundara again, though Denki himself was ignorant of it's true purpose until it was pointed out by him
His power allows him to conduct electricity from his body. Too much of it and he'll act all goofy and stupid.
Eijiro Kirishima
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A.. He values "manliness" a great deal, whatever that means.
After seeing Sora calm the crowd surrounding their class after U.S.J., Eijiro has gained a great deal of respect towards him.
His power allows him to harden his body like rock for a short amount of time.
Kyoka Jiro
A young woman training to be a Pro Heroine at U.A.. She seems to be the most tomboyish of the girls in Sora's class.
She doesn't seem to like Kaminari much, if her exchanges with him are of any implication, but she does find his "dumb mode" funny.
She's made a friend in Momo during their time at U.S.J., calling her "punk rock", whatever that means.
Her power allows her to use jacks on her earlobes to listen to things far away or out of earshot. It can also be used in conjunction with special equipment to make sound waves.
Mina Ashido
A young woman training to be a Pro Heroine at U.A.. She's just as energetic as Toru is, and looks kind of like something out of Monstropolis.
Her power allows her to generate acid from her body.
Koji Koda
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A.. He's super shy, and doesn't talk at all, preferring to use sign language.
His power seems to have something to do with animals.
Minoru Mineta
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A.. He's the shortest one in the class, but is also a pervert, and it doesn't make him the most popular guy on the block.
His power allows him to make and throw sticky purple balls. They are extremely durable, and no one knows what they are made of.
Tsuyu Asui
A young woman training to be a Pro Heroine at U.A.. She's more composed compared to the rest of the class, and prefers to be called "Tsu."
She has a habit of croaking like a frog, no thanks to her Quirk.
Her power gives her all the abilities a frog has.
Hanta Sero
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A..
His power lets him shoot special tape out of his elbows, hence why they look strange.
Yuga Aoyama
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A.. He's very flamboyant and over-the-top with his actions.
He seems to speak in a language that seems familiar to Sora. Could it have a connection to Little Chef?
His power is the ability to shoot lasers from his stomach, though why that specific place nobody seems to know.
Fumikage Tokoyami
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A.. He's very broody and talks a lot about darkness.
His power allows him to call upon a shadow that can attack, defend, and move around from his stomach area. It has a personality of its own, acting the complete opposite of how Fumikage acts.
Rikido Sato
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A..
His power increases his abilities every time he consumes sugar, like a sugar rush.
Mr. Aizawa
Class 1-A's teacher. With a tired face and expression, he's almost never without his sleeping bag.
He's very harsh on his students, and urges them to push their limits every time.
He and Sora are on somewhat okay terms, though Aizawa considers Sora an even worse "problem child" than Midoriya.
His power allows him to "erase" other powers, making them useless once he makes eye contact with his target.
Midnight
A teacher at U.A. High who is also a Pro Heroine. She teaches Modern Art and History.
She's seems to have no shame in flirting with her students through her actions, something Sora isn't entirely used to.
Her power is currently unknown.
Present Mic
U.A.'s DJ and Pro Hero. He teaches English, a course Sora excels in.
He's very loud and energetic, in contrast to his colleague, Aizawa.
His power makes his voice super loud when he screams.
Cementoss
A Pro Hero working as a Teacher in U.A.. He teaches Modern Literature.
He makes sure everyone is listening to what he's saying during class.
His power seems to relate to cement.
Ectoplasm
A Pro Hero working as a Teacher in U.A.. He teaches Mathematics.
He's much stricter than Cementoss, and his voice sounds robotic at times.
His power allows him to clone himself, which proved useful during U.S.J. in rounding up the Villains.
Vlad King
A Pro Hero who assisted at U.S.J.. He is a staff member of U.A. High School, and teacher to Class 1-B.
His power is currently unknown.
Snipe
A Pro Hero who assisted at U.S.J.. He is a staff member of U.A. High School.
His power seems to relate to his shooting capabilities, given how he damaged Tomura with it.
Neito Monoma
A young man training to be a Pro Hero at U.A.. He was rescued by Sora at the Entrance Exam, and is a member of Class 1-B, though he seems a bit bitter about Sora saving him.
His power is unknown.
Power Loader
A U.A. Staff member who manages the Support classes in the high school. He and Sora converse about Sora's Hero Costume during the first day of school.
His power is currently unknown, but it might have to do with his iron clawed fingers.
Mei Hatsume
An energetic girl in the Support Course. She lovingly calls all her inventions her "babies," and is not always aware of personal space.
Her power is currently unknown.
Thirteen
A Pro Hero who teaches Class 1-A during U.S.J.. She was incapacitated by Kurogiri during the conflict.
Her power allows her to suck things into a black hole, where it is destroyed completely.
Tomura Shigaraki
A young man who is the ringleader for the attack on U.S.J.. His voice is raspy and there are hands decorated all over him.
He was confident that his friend, Nomu, could defeat the Symbol of Peace, but All Might proved him wrong and forced him to retreat.
His power is unknown, but it might have something to do with his hands.
Nomu
A giant hulk of a man who appeared at U.S.J.
Nomu was made to kill All Might, and very nearly succeeded. But after All Might went beyond Plus Ultra, Nomu was defeated and captured.
Nomu has multiple powers, like regeneration and shock absorption, among most things.
Kurogiri
A man who assists Tomura during the U.S.J..
He uses his power to separate Class 1-A in hopes that they will perish when they face his comrades. But thanks to their teamwork and strength of heart (and the help of All Might and Cloud), they managed to win the day and force the Villains to retreat.
Cloud Strife
A former First Class SOLDIER who wields a hefty blade known as the Buster Sword. Initially cool-headed and battle-hardened, Cloud was initially Sora's enemy, and fought him due to a contract from Hades, but after realizing that he'd been duped, he became one of Sora's allies in his fight against the darkness.
When Sora and friends saw him last, he was clashing with his darkness, Sephiroth, before disappearing in a flash of light.
He has somehow made his way into the world Sora is stranded in, and appears to have the same goal as before: find and destroy Sephiroth.
He also seems to be considering a job offer as a staff member of U.A., though he has yet to make a final decision.
"Quirk": Materia - He can channel the power of the elements and materials around him to release powerful attacks, mainly ranging from fire, ice, and thunder, but has evolved it to also alter gravity and greatly enhance his abilities. However, they have a limit, and eventually Cloud will run out of energy by using his Quirk too much. He also uses special orbs that help out with his Quirk.
Tifa Lockhart
A spirited and determined young woman who fights with her fists. She is Cloud's childhood friend and has been tailing him since he went searching for Sephiroth. Though she is kind and motherly, she made quite the first impression when Sora and company first met her after she beat Leon physically and mentally at Hollow Bastion. She is also a bit shy at times. She remains a steadfast ally to Sora and the Guardians of Light.
She was last seen continuing her search for Cloud after he disappeared fighting Sephiroth, saying that light was easy to find.
She has somehow made her way into the world Sora is stranded in, and is making sure she sticks with Cloud this time to make sure he doesn't fall to darkness.
"Quirk": Chakra / Chi Control - Tifa can control the spiritual energy within her body and use it to unleash devastating attacks and enhance her physical capabilities. She can even transfer her Chakra onto someone else to heal their injuries to an extent. However, using too much of her chi can put a strain on her body, making her exhausted when reaching her limit, though who knows when that will be.
Riku Mizushima
Sora's best friend and a true Keyblade Master from Destiny Islands. Though initially Sora's enemy in their first adventure, Riku saw the error in his ways. After embarking on an odyssey to master and overcome the darkness in his heart, Riku has become one of Sora's greatest allies.
Immediately after Sora's disappearance, Riku has been searching nonstop throughout the worlds to find any clue on his friend's whereabouts. Despite the protests of his comrades, Riku will not rest until his best friend is by his and Kairi's side once more.
Kairi Yoshino
One of the Seven Princesses of Heart, and Sora's dearest friend. Her heart once resided in Sora's during his first adventure, and was brought back to normal once Sora sacrificed himself to do so. She later returns the favor by restoring Sora to human form after he turns into a Heartless.
After the Mark of Mastery, Kairi was discovered to have the power to wield a Keyblade, and trained in hopes of catching up to Sora and Riku. She was killed by Xehanort in the Keyblade War, but was brought back thanks to Sora. However, doing this forbidden act caused Sora to vanish.
Though she wasn't truly present, a fragment of Kairi's power appeared to help Sora fend off the Dark Follower at U.S.J.. After speaking encouraging words and promising Sora to never change, she vanishes without a trace, leaving him alone once again.
Terra
A Keyblade wielder with a forte in strength. He hails from the Land of Departure.
He and Riku have a special connection to one another, as he bestowed onto Riku the power of the Keyblade over a decade ago.
He was lost to darkness and became a vessel for Master Xehanort 10 years ago, but thanks to his bonds with Ventus and Aqua, he was able to return and expel Xehanort from his heart forever.
He is currently searching the Realm of Darkness for clues on Sora's whereabouts.
Aqua
A true Keyblade Master who excels in magic. She hails from the Land of Departure.
10 years ago, Aqua fell into the Realm of Darkness, where she fought an endless legion of Heartless for over a decade. It eventually took its toll on her and drove her mad, leading her to attack Riku and Sora, but thanks to the efforts of Riku, Sora, and Ventus, Aqua was saved and escaped the Realm of Darkness.
She is currently in the Realm of Darkness again to search for clues on Sora's whereabouts.
Ventus
A Keyblade wielder who excels in speed. He hails from the Land of Departure.
10 years ago, Ventus was caught up in a conflict and was forced to help forge the X-Blade with his dark half, Vanitas. However, in an epic struggle, the two struck each other down, and Ventus's heart went inside Sora's own to recover from the fight. Ventus's body remained comatose and was placed in a special location by Aqua.
10 years later, thanks to Sora using the power of waking, Ventus was reawakened from his slumber and joined the Guardians of Light in the Keyblade War.
He is currently searching the Realm of Darkness for clues on Sora's whereabouts.
Sephiroth
A mighty warrior who was once hailed as a great hero. He is the embodiment of Cloud's darkness, though more information regarding their relationship remains a mystery.
He is immensely powerful, so powerful that when Sora fought him, Sephiroth wasn't fighting him seriously at all, and Sora himself barely survived the encounter.
According to Cloud, Sephiroth is the one responsible for stranding him and Tifa in the new world, and Cloud has been searching for him ever since.
His current whereabouts remain unknown, but wherever Cloud is, you can be certain that the one-winged angel isn't far behind, waiting for the right moment to plunge Cloud into the depths of despair.
Zinnia
A young woman Sora encounters while he was wandering the corridors of U.A. She's very polite, and appears to be a member of Class 1-B.
She loves the Lord of the Rings series, just like Sora.
Though not much is known about her, Sora feels like there is something off about her, though he cannot seem to figure out what it is.
? ? ? ?
A mysterious doppelganger of Sora who broke into his home and brutally injured his mother. It encourages Sora to hold onto his newfound hatred for it until they cross paths once more.
Why does it target Sora, and what intentions does it have for him?
Whatever they may be, they don't seem to be for Sora's benefit.
? ? ? ?
A man in a black coat. Not much else is known about him.
Mogway
A Moogle Sora meets at U.A. High School, working with the Support Team. After hearing about Sora being in this world, Mogway got a license as a Developer and has since been supporting Sora in gear and equipment, free of charge.
Like other Moogles, he has a habit of saying "kupo" at the end of each sentence.
Yozora
A mysterious man tasked to "save Sora." However, instead of doing that, he challenged Sora into one of his toughest fights yet, and very nearly besting him.
Not much is known about his powers, but the fact that he can forcibly steal Sora's Keyblade and keep up with him proves that he is a very formidable opponent in combat.
He vanished with a small smile after being defeated, but his intentions remain a mystery.
(Silence)
And that's all for Character files! Until our paths cross again!
