A/N: I realise the story's really, REALLY slow paced... idk it was supposed to be short, but let's see where it goes from here.
ANNND if you haven't realised it, the story, AND all of its chapters derive their names from the lyrics of the song ''Disenchanted'' and its ''Live Demo Version'', by My Chemical Romance.
Chapter 3: You Get the Hard Part
The two had already ordered breakfast via room service, and now sat waiting for it. They hadn't spoken much, what was there to say? They just stared awkwardly into the silence, knowing how bad they had f*cked things up.
"I'm going for a shower" Z finally said, her voice husky. Sky nodded, he had already showered before she had woken up. But just as she had gotten up, the bell to their hotel room rang, and the two got alerted.
"I'll see," Z said, and went to the door. Viewing from the peephole first, she opened the door, "Jack!" She threw her arms around him the moment he came in through the door.
He hugged her back, then separating her from him, he said, "Now where is that piece of shit that took advantage of my little sister?" He asked gruffly, and Z pointed to the bed, where said piece of shit sat in a bathrobe.
"Seriously? You're not going to defend your husband even a little bit?!" Sky asked exasperated, And Z groaned, "if you call yourself my husband again, I swear I'll personally beat you up"
"Wow, salty much?" Sky said, sarcastically, and was met by a hand gripping his bathrobe , threateningly.
"Jack stop it, we were both drunk!" Sky said, not really in the mood for anything.
"Why should I believe you didn't drug her or something? Just to get her in bed?"
Sky opened his mouth and breathed a breath of alcohol and Jack winced,
"How gentlemanly" Z commented in the background, laughing, and Sky gave her a stink eye, "at least he knows I was drunk as well"
"I'll still beat you up if Z tells me you did something fucked up, took advantage of her, or did ANYTHING improper, or—"
"no Jack" Z interrupted him, "I'd take as much responsibility for this as him." she said, solemnly, "we were both idiots"
Jack finally let go of his collar, and slumped back, onto the bed beside Sky.
"You got our clothes?" Sky asked, and Jack nodded, "you didn't say much on the phone… Why did you call yourself her husband?"
"We got married, last night" Z said, showing off her ring finger, with the diamond glittering,
"WHAT?" Jack looked shocked, but somewhere deep inside, he wasn't all that surprised.
"I'm going for a shower" Z said, coldly, and walked out, leaving the guys alone.
"Sorry for bursting in like that man" Jack settled down, still trying to digest everything, he patted Sky's shoulder, "this is Z's brother speaking, or my friend?"
"They're pretty much the same guy, but for now, yeah, it's your friend. What happened man? Why this? Have you two been secretly dating this whole time?"
"No Jack, do you think Z would've been so hostile if we had? Do you really think she wouldn't have told you?"
"It's so unbelievable, I don't know what to think anymore."
XXX
Z was nowhere to be found. Syd and Bridge, who had just gotten out of their bedroom in bathrobes, like Sky and Z had, ironically, were freaking out, and losing their minds over Sky and Z's getting married. Yeah, it was too unbelievable.
Sky sat, cross legged, and cross armed, on the floor in his hotel room, which he didn't even remember clearly checking into, but somehow, it was in the same hotel where Bridge and Syd were staying after the wedding.
"My gosh" Syd mouthed once again, tugging at Bridge's bathrobe, and he pulled it closer to himself. He was sittin on the window sill, she was on the stiff backed chair, which they had moved next to Bridge's window. Jack stood beside the mirror in the room, and all stared at the unmade bed, the mess of a room, and thought about what to do.
"Where did that damn girl go?!" Jack said, in annoyance, and Sky looked up at him, almost in anger, "don't talk about my wife like that" he said, and they all saw he wasn't joking. He was just as worried as the rest of them.
Z had disappeared after her shower, when Jack and Sky had gone out to tell Bridge and Syd of the turn of events. When the four had returned, Z was nowhere to be found. They had searched the whole hotel, but neither her, nor her duplicates could be found.
Z had never done something like this! She'd always tell something to her best gf Syd, or her Brother Jack, or her little brother Bridge, or her best friend, Sky, the four people she was the closest to in the world. But disappearing like this was so odd, and they were really worried. They were more worried that she might do something…
What that something was something none of them knew. And for all they knew, it could be something wild and unpredictable and even dangerous. Z was the wild card.
"You two are such idiots" Syd said, finally, looking at Sky.
"Yeah, Sydney, I think we've already established that much"
"I mean who gets drunk and married on their friend's reception night?!"
"That's what you're thinking about?" Jack looked at the blonde incredulously.
"Well, yeah" she looked at her husband, "I mean if you two wouldn't have screwed up, me and Bridge would probably be in our rooms, doing our stuff"
"Eww, Syd, shut up" Sky winced. The last thing he wanted to think about was his roommate and his little sister having sex.
"Well, you know it"
"Don't you guys have to leave for your honeymoon or something too?"
"Yeah" Bridge nodded, he was at a serious loss of words with everything that had been happening. And Bridge Carson, had never been at a loss of words in his life, "the flight's tonight, ten PM"
"Which is why we wanted to get as much time today" Syd explained, and Sky winced again.
Suddenly, the door of the suite flew open, and walked in Z Delgado, and the four people inside the room looked at her in disbelief, she had a target handbag, and looked absolutely normal.
"What happened guys?" she looked at their bewildered expressions.
"Where have you been? We've been worried sick!" Sky exclaimed, rushing over to her, and gripping her shoulders once more. And this time, she didn't look offended, nor did he draw back in shock. They stayed that way for a few moments, before the others interrupted with their chatter.
"Where did you go?" Syd asked, finally when they had all calmed down, and resumed their seats, with Z taking the bed. In reply to Syd's question, Z held up the bag from target.
"Why?"
"I needed these" Z brought something out of the packet, which none of the boys understood. Syd, meanwhile, looked surprised.
"You won't need these till you miss your first period" she said, "that is, considering if you're pregnant at all"
"Look, Syd, I know my cycles, and I was ovulating, there's a very good chance that I am" she said. The girls conversed, while the boys, especially Sky, looked on, shell shocked.
"You can never be sure about that, Z" Syd said, "it's happened countless times with me and Bridge too, but I haven't gotten pregnant yet"
Bridge turned redder than red's uniform at that moment.
"I can't take the risk, Syd,"
"But even then, Z, these won't work till at least two weeks after you two had sex"
"Can someone explain whatever the hell you two are talking about?" Jack asked, finally.
"Pregnancy tests" Z held up the thing again for the boys to see. Okay now it made sense.
Sky was still too shocked. He couldn't believe it, the fact, that there was a chance that he might've made Z pregnant.
If she were, how on Earth would they ever get divorced? Things would just keep on getting more and more complicated. Plus if she was, he wouldn't divorce her seulement for the sake of the child. He was a responsible man, responsible for his mistakes. He'd stand by her side, through thick and thin. He was going to put on a macho face, and take up these challenges like the brave adult he was.
But whether he admitted it or not, he was scared all the same.
