Lee was with his back braced against the steps of the staircase, with his arms crossed in front of his chest and his eyes closed, mentally preparing himself for the craziest thing he would do in his entire life.

The church bell began to ring some time ago, he was just waiting for a good amount of walkers to gather around the college walls and waiting for the darkness of the night to be more present, and to hide his body as he moved through the farthest and darkest places.

He could hear the loud voices of the people around him, just above him. Several men and women arguing about the noise in the church, and the approaching walkers.

"- Okay Lee, now is your chance. The part of the wall that' s broken has only two men on it now."

Carley's voice echoed through the empty sewer, and Lee gave a heavy sigh, before climbing the stairs.

Lifting the manhole cover slightly, he watched where the people were, most of them were either too far away, walking in the opposite direction from him, or had their backs towards him.

Lee exited the manhole as quickly as he could, putting the lid back on and running towards one of the cars parked inside, hiding behind the vehicle while waiting for two women to pass him.

His brown eyes focused on the path to the broken part of the wall, waiting a few seconds, he runs to the back of the building.

He is slightly startled to see a man relieving himself back there. The two look at each other for a few moments, and the man tries to grab his gun from his back, however, Lee was faster and cut his throat with his machete. He wouldn't destroy the man's brain, it would leave him to come back to life, a guarantee that the place would fall down.

A low noise from his side caught his attention, and Lee raised his machete again, preparing to strike if there was anyone else there.

But his eyes widened when he saw a man tied up on his knees in a place that resembled a pigsty.

Lee was even more surprised to see the people standing next to the man.

Not knowing whether to thank God or curse his luck, Lee walked towards the man, cutting the ropes that bound him and removing the tape from his mouth.

- Holy shit, Lee! You're fucking alive!

Ben said in a somewhat excited tone, causing Lee to almost put the tape back in his mouth.

- It's good to see you too Ben, but you have to be quiet.

he said softly, walking over to Kenny.

Lee even thought about leaving him like that, the anger he once felt had returned to his chest as soon as he saw him, but he just ignored it and cut the ropes holding him down, not bothering to remove the tape from his mouth, and ignoring the incredulous look he gave him.

"Surprised to see me alive? Asshole."

He thought, cutting the ropes at the woman, and the man he saw soon after.

- Thank you, but how did you get in?

She asked, standing up and helping the man next to her to stand up.

Lee just ignored her.

- Damn, that was brutal. Are you going to let him turn?

Omid asked, sounding just as agitated as Ben, but saying it in a lighter tone.

- That's the plan.

He said simply, looking around and making sure no one was approaching.

-... Lee, I...

Kenny tried to say something, and this was the first time Lee had looked him in the eye, despite the poor visibility.

Lee was internally surprised to see real guilt in Kenny's eyes, quite different from when he had left him for dead.

- Not now Kenny, whatever you have to tell me, tell me later.

He interrupted him, saying it a little harder than he meant to.

But Kenny couldn't blame him.

- Where's Clementine?

he asked, alternating his gaze between Kenny and Ben.

- The little girl? The man took her to the main building, I think.

She answered, controlling the urge to ask more about her, recognizing that this wasn't the best time.

- Okay, there's a manhole nearby, go the same way I came, hide behind the parked cars and you'll see. As soon as it's safe, run for it as fast as you can, this place won't last long.

He explained, pointing to the body of the man behind him, who was slowly starting to move.

- What about you, man?

He asked, limping slightly toward him.

- I told you, this place won't last long.

The woman and the man understood what he said, and immediately went in the direction he had explained, Ben following close behind.

Only Kenny seemed hesitant to go. And Lee sighed at that.

- Look Kenny, I think you're a real son of a bitch right now, but I forgive you, okay? I'm not going to try to kill you or anything, I'm still angry, but I'm willing to let it go if you'll stop being such an asshole and open your fucking eyes. I told you, we'll talk later.

He said it short and thick, not waiting for Kenny's response, turning and walking away from him.

But still, Kenny didn't seem very willing to get out of there, he couldn't, even if he wanted to. Seeing Lee alive, and after hearing what he said, the hope for forgiveness that had died inside him was revived.

Kenny couldn't leave, it just didn't seem right at the moment.

And he already had his share of wrong decisions.

Crouching through the darkness, Lee soon reaches the place where the two men were, apparently reinforcing the small "barricade" they had made on the hole in the wall.

There weren't many walkers in that place yet, but soon there would be.

Their lighting was only by a candle, which made visibility somewhat poor, although there was some.

Lee approaches silently, his machete in hand and his other hand on his pistol, just in case something goes wrong.

- I'll tell you, man, the work they did on this wall sucks. They beat some boards, and now they want us to reinforce this shit, how the fuck are we supposed to do this?

One of the men spoke up, somewhat annoyed with the work. He was squatting in front of the boards that covered the hole, and had a hammer in his hands.

Next to him, a chainsaw.

- I don't fucking know. Let's hit a few more boards and that's it. It would help a lot if they would sort out this noise in the church, it will only attract more corpses to our door.

The other answered, this one was standing on a wooden table just behind him, with his arms crossed and a toolbox at his feet.

Taking advantage of the men's distraction, Lee stabbed his machete into the neck of the standing man. Withdrawing his blade from inside his neck, Lee pierced the back of the crouching man's head, letting both bodies fall to the ground, forming small pools of blood pouring out of their lifeless bodies.

Lee took the hammer and began to remove the nails that held the boards to the wall, the problem was that there were too many boards, and too many nails, it would take too long and his time was short.

It was then that his eyes fell on the chainsaw.

"That's going to be noisy."

He thought, and before he could start the chainsaw, he turned back and looked for a doorway he could use to enter the building.

There were no doors nearby, only windows, and they were all locked.

At least the ones on the fist floor, but the ones on the second floor were too high for him to jump.

Shots caught Lee's attention, and he turned in the direction they were were far away, but would certainly attract more attention than a broken window.

Lee hits the window with the handle of his machete, breaking the glass, not before he makes sure that the place is empty.

Turning quickly, he picks up the chainsaw and starts it, smiling slightly that it still has gas.

He begins to cut the boards, cutting off a few hands in the process due to the few walkers that were there trying to grab him through the gaps.

After a while, Lee steps back when he sees that he had opened enough, and watches the first walker come in, immediately going towards one of the fallen bodies just ahead.

Turning off the chainsaw, he tosses it aside and jumps out the window, his time had just run out.

Walking silently towards the door, he heard some people running down the hallway outside the room.

He waited until the people had passed, and when he didn't heard anything else, he opened the door slowly, watching the corridor.

Now he had to get to the second floor, and with luck, Clementine would be there.

Going the same way people ran, he walked in a squat position while checking all the doors he passed.

They were not stock rooms, just empty ones, some even had beds, along with some personal items, but nothing important, and he doubted that Clementine would be in one of those rooms.

He heard some footsteps approaching behind him quickly, and he hides in one of the rooms, out of options.

As he closes the door, he comes face to face with a man lying on the bed, quietly reading a book.

The man had probably thought his roommate had entered, or was too focused on his book, so he didn't look at Lee immediately.

Taking advantage of this, Lee advances toward him, causing the man to look at him startled.

In reflex, the man stands up, dodging Lee's attack.

He counters with a kick to his stomach, but Lee dodges to the side and cuts the man's leg with his machete.

He groans in pain, and throws himself off balance as he steps too hard on his wounded leg.

Lee takes advantage and stabs him in the stomach, watching the life in the man's eyes slowly fade away.

Surely he would see those eyes in his dreams, but he didn't care.

And that fact scared him more and more.

Lee left the room, watching the hallway once more, and closing the door behind him when he saw that there was no one there.

He could hear the sounds of gunshots getting louder and more frequent, probably they had already found the walkers coming through the hole in the wall.

Lee quickly climbed the stairs as he reached them, he hoped that there would be fewer people on the second floor, but he was prepared to deal with them if necessary.

However, as soon as he reached the second floor, he was spotted by two men walking down the hallway.

Lee reflexively punched the first man, and received a kick to the stomach from the second, followed by a punch to his face.

He groaned in pain, feeling the bullet wounds in his abdomen begin to throb.

"They didn't heal that well."

he thought, dodging another punch coming his way, and counterattacking with his machete, piercing his enemy just below the shoulder.

The man screamed loudly in pain, and a huge amount of blood flowed from his wound.

Lee was about to kill him, but was interrupted by another punch, coming from the man who had attacked first.

He staggers backwards, but recovers quickly, dodging a knife attack aimed at his chest.

The man tries to cut Lee several times, but he manages to dodge most of them. Well, almost all of them.

Lee takes a wrong step, and gets off balance, the man manages to stab him in the left eye.

Lee cries out in pain and backs away a few steps, putting his free hand over his eye and feeling that hot liquid run down his cheek, but he didn't have time to recover.

The man tried to stab him again.

Lee dodged, throwing his body to the side and entering an empty room.

The man ran toward Lee, trying to stab him again.

He dodges, and stabs the man in the knee.

A high-pitched scream escapes his throat, but soon, that scream ceases, Lee shoves his machete into the man's neck, pulling it out of him shortly thereafter.

He had no time to recover again, his body was thrust backwards hard. By reflex, Lee grabs his attacker's shirt, and they both fall backwards, falling out of the second floor window.

Lee fell backwards, while the man fell forwards.

They both groaned in pain, the vision in Lee's one open eye blurred. But still, he took his machete and killed the man next to him, stabbing him in the back, multiple times, too stunned to hit the place he wanted to.

Lee stood up with difficulty, groaning loudly in pain as he stood. That's when a noise made itself present behind him.

He turned around, but unfortunately, he was not fast enough to react in time.

A zombie grabbed his arm, Lee cried out in pain and surprise as he felt the walker's cold hand grip him tightly.

With one movement he kills the walker and supports himself on his knees, recovering.

It was then that his hesitant eyes fixed on the bite present on his trembling arm.
